Serious Error - NOTHING is working

I have been continually getting the message: Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.
I was using CC heavily (all day every day) until a few weeks ago and never had any problems worth mentioning. I haven't changed anything on my machine - or updated CC as far as I am aware (unless it did it in the background). I am now just trying to do a very short edit and can't even get the clips into the sequence. Re-opening the same project doesn't work, opening a new project doesn't work, uninstalling and re-installing hasn't worked. In fact it’s showing as a trial version now, which is rubbish as I have paid for it and should come as part of my suite - can’t figure out how to make it do that again now either.
This is frustrating me no end as I can't do anything without the program crashing. I've seen a few other people post about this but none of the options on those threads has worked either. No idea why PP would stop working like this as have never had issues before. HELP!!!
Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014.2 Release v8.1 Caravan  8.2.0 (65) Build
I have just uninstalled and re-installed this version.
I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 Yosemite on a Mac Pro (Late 2013) with a 3.5GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon E5 Memory: 64GB 1866 MHz DDR3 ECC
Dual AMD FirePro D300 graphics processors with 2GB of GDDR5 VRAM each
Source footage is H.264 in a .mp4 container
The full error message is: Sorry, a serious error has occurred that requires Adobe Premiere Pro to shut down. We will attempt to save your current project.
This happens when:
- Dragging a clip into my sequence — moving clips within the sequence — which usually works just fine.
I’m also running Chrome, Firefox, Outlook, while working in Premiere.
No third party effects or codecs installed
I am using a Pegasus Promise 10b RAID for storage.

High there! Yes, on my MBP all works fine again. You need to go to the link enclosed and follow EXACTLY the instructions. Once you install the trail version, it recons the produt key of your previous version and all is like it once was... even your personal set-up.
Good luck!

  • Licensing Error - Nothing is Working!

Many others have had similar problems with the dreaded error 150:30 - I have read all the articles and discussions on this problem and tried probably 10 different solutions at this point with no results. I am working on a macbook air on mountain lion and all my adobe creative suite CS4 products stopped working after a time-machine restore.
PLEASE do not just direct me to the article for this error. I have looked through all the solutions. The license repair tool doesn't work (says that Power PC applications are not supported) and the rest of the solutions seem to rely on the mysterious flexnet files which do not exist anywhere on my computer. Yes, I know they are supposed to be in the library folder and yes, I know it's hidden and how to find it. This is not the problem. The folders/files are simply not where they are supposed to be.
I know that this software is several years old now, but I can't afford the newer version and it is really frustrating to not be able to use something that I paid hundreds of dollars for. Any solution you can offer would be hugely appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi chiekoo,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at this article:
iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694#error21
    Error 20, 21, 23, 26, 28, 29, 34, 36, 37, 40
These errors typically occur when security software interferes with the restore and update process. FollowTroubleshooting security software issues to resolve this issue. In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue. If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service.
Also, check your hosts file to verify that it's not blocking iTunes from communicating with the update server. See iTunes: Advanced iTunes Store troubleshooting—follow steps under the heading Blocked by configuration (Mac OS X / Windows) > Rebuild network information > Mac OS X > The hosts file may also be blocking the iTunes Store. If you have software used to perform unauthorized modifications to the iOS device, uninstall this software prior to editing the hosts file to prevent that software from automatically modifying the hosts file again on restart.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • App Error 523- Nothing is working

    Hello,
I have a Blackberry curve 8310. Nothing is working anymore on my phone. There is this error message : app error 523. When I try to reset, it take 3 minutes of "waiting" with nothing on the screen, until the same message reappear. I also try taking off the battery for 3 minutes and put it in again, still nothing with the same message. I was wondering what can I do, and if nothing work, where can I send to phone for reparation, and how much it will cost for this kind of problem.
    Thank you,

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.
You have some offending third party application or theme on the device causing the error.
Option One: IF you know which third party application is causing the error, you can use the command line functions of JL_Cmder to remove the cod file from the device. That is a complicated method but the most simple if you know what to remove.
Optionos Two: Wipe the device totally with JL_Cmder and reload the Operating System fresh. You will lose ALL data on the device, so I hope you have a recent backup of the device.
    Read this link for details:

Do you have a recent backup? Search your entire PC hard drive c: for any file "*.ipd" (disclude the quote marks).

Did you reinstall CS3 after CC?
For that matter, doing an in-place upgrade on the OS is always a gamble with Adobe programs. Reinstalling all the versions you need, in order, would probably solve your problem.
And you shouldn't need to save as IDML after opening the .inx in CC.

I have a 4th generation ipod classic (click wheel) and it's giving me a sad ipod error as well as not mounting in itunes... I hear a clicking inside when it is connected to power but nothing is working. Help!

You won't believe this but a friend of mine (who happens to be an Apple Genius) told me to put a towel or cloth on a sturdy countertop (I know this may sound weird) but hold the selct button (in the center) and menu part of the wheel at the same time until an Apple logo comes up on the screen and then quickly turn the ipod on it's side and wack it on the counter where the towel is so as not to damage anything cosmetically. It seems the clicking is the hard drive reader is stuck and this dislodges it. Mine works now (no clicking) and all seems to be well again. Who knew?

Rather difficult to say what the problem may be at present but for general info please have a look at
    * [[safe mode]]
    *[[firefox will not start]]
    *[[firefox hangs]]
Note sometimes you may have to wait a while for firefox to shutdown completly, and if it has hung then as explained in the above articles you may need to kill any firefox.exe process that is still running (and maybe plugincontainer.exe)
Try starting firefox in [[safe mode]] e.g. by holding down shift key
    * do not make any changes in the first window, just click on continue<br/> ? Do you get as far as seeing the options window for safe mode ?
If firefox is crashing see [[firefox crashes]], this is easier to work through if you can get firefox to start without crashing on startup. Currently some firefox users are finding Firefox 10 crashes on startup, and a new version Firefox 10.0.1 is being released very soon to deal with this and another cause of hangs.

  • When I start my computer, I get popup error msg that "Apple Sync Notifier" has stopped working.  I have tried several remedies suggested by those on the Apple (and Roxio) tech support. Nothing has worked. Trying to burn disc or puchased ITUNES.

I have been trying to burn newly purchased (as well as last year purchases) ITunes to a disc.   I had burned some of these songs to a disc last year and all went well.   Now I have been getting this popup telling me that the AppleSync Notifier has stoped working & the corefoundation.dll needs to be re-installed.  Also that Windows will try to fix the problem.   Every time I try to burn the disc, the computer sends the disc back out and the screen tells me to put in a blank recordable disc.   I have tried 4 different new discs now and the same thing happens.
    I am running Windows Vista.
Have been to the Roxio web site for help as well as Apple.
Have tried many "fixes" such as:  updating latest version of Direct X from the Microsoft website;   Disabling startup items;   going to local disc C and into the Apple/Apple Appplication support and right-clicking on the SQLite3.dll and moving it tomobile support device window.   Nothing has worked.  What can I do to get some music recorder?   Should I buy a new cassette deck and record onto tape like I did 20 years ago?   This is a very important disc I am making as a gift & I need to get it done by this weekend.    Is there anyone that can offer good advice?

love paying a lot of money for something that doesn't work right, thanks apple

  • A serious error has occurred or how the 7.1 update ruined my life.

Ever since the 7.1 update to Premiere, I've had nothing but problems. The desktop app fails to update for every update, and appears to think it's out of date when it's not and then the icon in the menu bar will be grayed out until I reboot 3-4 times. The "workaround for that seems to be to force quit and uninstall the "previous" version and then download the "new" version from the creative cloud web portal. This wouldn't be that large of an issue, but it happens almost every other day.
Then once I can actually open Premiere, the real fun with errors begins. I have received the "A Serious Error has occurred" screen on 30-40 (not exagerating) delightful occasions in the past couple of weeks, with no real details of what is actually wrong. It usually occurs while trying to fix an issue where my multi-clips aren't showing the audio waveforms in the sequence, but it has happened plenty of other mysterious ways. This is even more complicated, because it's happening on multiple systems and one of them isn't even using the 7.1 update and another is offsite and using different hardware. The same annoying error occurs across them all.
Another super cool "feature" is that Mercury Playback Engine capabilities come and go as they please. Sometimes they work for Premiere or Media Encoder or After Effects, but sometimes they just pick one for that given day and don't let the other apps playback. All of the systems GPU were working just fine in 7.0.1, but now wtf Adobe?
My system specs are varied, but the general idea is this:
    Mac Pro systems (4,1-5,1) 2.3GHz - 2.93GHz
    16-24GB RAM
Nvidia QuadroFX 4800, Nvidia QuadroFX 4000, Nvidia GeForce 9800
    OS X 10.7.4 and 10.7.5
A few of the systems have AJA Kona 3 and Kona 3G
Most of the media is being accessed across 10gigE to a ProMax Platform, and the project files are local on SSD's.
I have the bug report from Apple, so if that helps let me know so I can get that info to someone who cares.

    Hi Kevin,
I'm still planning on attempting the 10.8.5 install on one of the affected systems. In the process, I have uncovered a new issue related to the CUDA acceleration not being there at all on a system that used to have it. That particular Mac Pro system only has a GeForce GT120, but the point is that in CS6 and CC, the CUDA was working until this latest update. The other systems have QuadroFX 4000 and 4800 cards, so those seem to be getting CUDA playback, however it is intermittent.
As for the OS X 10.7.4 not allowing me to install 7.1... That is correct. The Creative Cloud Desktop app was failing updating itself (as it still does on every "update") quite a bit, I don't remember any specific messages, but I did see somewhere along the process that I wasn't able to install the Premiere 7.1 update with my 10.7.4. One of the systems here is have a ton of issues with AE, but that's a whole new thread I think. I will attach some of those errors for kicks, but all of these problems occured with the introduction of the virus that is Creative Cloud into our working environment.
I am working with a wide variety of media: R3D, 5D, F55 4K XAVC, Canon C-300, XDCAM EX, FS-100, ProRes. The projects that I've been having the most issues with lately has the Canon C-300 .MXF media mixed with 5D h.264 as a 2 camera multi-cam set up. The other project that was giving me a lot of trouble right when I installed the Premiere 7.1 update was R3D and F55 4K XAVC. Both issues were the "A Serious Error has occurred. Premiere will try and save your project" vague warning. I usually only lost work since the last Autosave 20 minute interval, but sometimes that is a lot of work and when it happens 10 times in one day, that is unacceptable.
Here are some answers to some more of those questions:
What other software are you running?
These are all possible conflicting software (IMO) that are installed:
    Final Cut Studio 3
    Avid Symphony 6.0.3
    Cinema 4D R14
    RED CineX
    Davinci Resolve
    Nuke7
Adobe CS5.5 and CS6 are still installed
Do you have any third-party effects or codecs installed?
Yes. Trapcode Suite, Primatte, lots of scripts in After Effects. Lots of codecs installed from Sony, Avid, RED, Canon, etc.
I think I've answered most of the other questions in this thread, but hopefully that helps. I will update when I'm able to get 10.8.5 installed. I suppose a clean install of 10.7.5 perhaps might have the same chances of fixing this as well.
    Here is the Premiere Error:
Here are a series of AE errors, that might need their own thread:

Hi guys; I thought I would share my experience and how I managed to fix this problem. It might help someone.
In my case I kept receiving this message; eventually after re-launching Premiere, I actually paid close attention to the "software loading" information and saw that it got stuck on my installed "Colorista ii" which is a colour grading software.
Now the red bulb came on my head ping!
I recently just upgraded my Mac to the OS X Yosemite & that affected pretty much any non-updated application, which in my case was that and many more of the Red Giant Pacakge; so I searched for the upgrade via Red giant Link, and low and behold I found it and did so. Immediately everything loaded up perfectly fine.. and now can't even do the work, cos I'm so exhausted from an 'almost heartattack'; so going to sleep and commence later in the day I guess..
Now, you might probably want to check if any application on your system needs upgrading to whatever is the operating system on your Mac or PC at this very time. It might help.
    Always back-up.
    I hope I helped someone :-)

  • Export problem "A serious error has occured", or hang, upon export to Encore.

    Hello,
    I am using adobe Premiere CS3 3.2
I am trying to export my project to a DVD.  I've been told that the best way to do this with minimizing quality loss is to export to Encore.
My project has some filters that affect system memory and have locked up the computer numerous times before, like Looks Suite and Noise Remover (on some clips)
when I choose export to Encore, then choose settings, I get the error "A Serious Error has occured...."  Then I trried lowering the settings, and I got the window that says "Rendering", at least, but nothing appeared in that window after I left it overnight.
    So I have some questions:
    - What's the best thing I can do to export my movie onto a DVD with minimum loss of quality?
    - Should I export as a video file first?  Which is the best quality?  Then can I export to Encore?
    - Does it help to pre-render my entire project in Premiere first, THEN export to Encore?
    I'd appreciate some advice.
    Thanks!
EDIT:  I just tried to export as a Quicktime Uncompressed video with the regular method (Export-> Movie).. and it gave me the error "Could not compile movie..."  then the message "adobe premiere pro is running very low on system memory"
So I am assuming this is a memory issue?  Then what should I do??
Also, I want to ask- If I put my entire project with all its files onto an external hard drive, then move them to another computer with adobe premiere pro installed which also has the same filters installed,  would I be able to export this way?

I am quite sure it is a memory problem... the computer exported other videos in the past just fine, but its never been used for making a film with a lot of filters and such that run down the memory, and so it gives me the memory errors.
I am not sure what is "Memtest86+"... I would like to try such a program, but in fact this is not my computer... I am using a Workstation at a University and now I have limited time to complete my project (I must figure out a solution by the end of the day on Monday)
Maybe AVI is the best for some... but I have done comparisons beforehand which found .mov to be the best... and I was even told that uncompressed quicktime doesn't lose quality at all (though in fact it seems to just a bit). So if you not completely sure which will be better, I will go with .mov.
So I will try a few things- like exporting only the "special" clips which  used a lot of filters on individually as .mov, then reimporting them into the project, then trying to export the whole thing into  encore...  If that does not work, I will try to export fragments as.mov (because if I try to export too much at one time, it has the memory error->crash).. then create a new project, import the .mov files, and export to Encore.
I only have limited time to solve this problem.. do you all think I am taking the right steps?
Also one key question I have is about the audio.. do you recommend that I export all of the audio into one wav file, and then put that into the new project?  Or should I just export the quicktime files, with their audio, into the project and keep it like that?
    I appreciate the help, again

  • A Serious Error Has Occured

    Hey guys,
I'm sure this has to exist elsewhere, but I couldn't come up with anything quickly.  I've been trying out the Premiere Pro CC trial for a little while now, and have been mostly pleased. I've used nothing but FCP in my career and know it like the back of my hand, but have been hearing such good things about Premiere Pro I decided to try it out and see if I'm ready to make the switch.
Unfortunately, the past few days I haven't been able to get much work done, as I keep getting this "serious error" that requires PP to shut down. I've tried doing a complete re-install to no avail. I've swapped around how much RAM the program is using and am still getting this error.  Does anyone have any suggestions? The program is completely up to date, as well.  I've attached an image of the error below.  At first, it seemed to be happening the most frequently when color correcting, but just now it happened simply moving through my timeline. And again when adding a transition.  Seemingly simple tasks.
I'm on a MacBook Pro Retina, late 2012, 2.7GHz Intel Core i7, 16GB RAM, running OS 10.9.5.  Haven't upgraded to Yosemite as I've heard FCP will no longer work and the company I work for still relies heavily on it.
    Thanks in advance!
    Nick

While you may get some help here on the forum, the best way to get a handle on non-specific crashes such as this is to contact Technical Support: Contact Customer Care. Be sure to ask to be put in the Video Queue so that you are assisted by an agent with deep knowledge of the video apps.
If you want to try some troubleshooting on your own first, I'd start by clearing the  following, in this order:
preferences, which are in the "Profile-<username>" folder here: Documents\Adobe\Premiere Pro\7.0. With PPro close, rename the Profile-<username> folder. Then launch PPRO. The app will create a fresh copy of the preferences file and other files that record custom settings.
cache files: Macintosh HD ▸ Users ▸ <Username> ▸ Library ▸ Application Support ▸ Adobe ▸ Common. Delete the folders "Media Cache" and "Media Cache Files."
the render preview files. By default, these are saved to the same folder as the project, in a folder named "Adobe Premiere Pro Preview Files"
And if you want to pursue more assistance here, please provide more info, as spelled out here: FAQ: What information should I provide when asking a question on this forum?
If the Crash Reporter dialog comes up afterward, please click the Information link, post the contents to a file on DropBox or the like, and include a link to it.
