Serious flaw with new "Package" feature?

How could this have been overlooked?
The Flaw: The new package feature doesn't consider linked images that are in opactiy masks. They are not copied to the new folder.
Can anyone else confirm this?
To test:
Create a new document.
Link unique image-1
Create a rectangle with a fill
Link unique image-2 into rectangle's opacity mask
Save file
Then choose Package, everything checked
When I do this, only 1 image is copied into the new links folder, image-1, while image-2 in the opacity mask is not copied and simply links to the original file/path.

Might also request a feature. I wish the "go-to-link" in the links window actually goes to linked files that are in opacity masks, selecting it, not just center over it and leav you guessing which shape the opacity mask it is in.

New "Package" feature in Illustrator for Creative Cloud users does not package linked images that are in opacity masks:
Steps to reproduce bug:
1. Create new document
2. Draw Rectangle and fill with color
3. Enter Rectangle's opacity mask
4. Place linked image (JPG, PSD) inside opacity the mask.
5. Exit opacity mask
6. Save file to desktop
7. Go to File > Package
8. Check everything, such as to copy links and create a links folder.
9. Save to new packaged folder
Results: New folder with only the AI file and text report. Report shows there are no linked images.
Expected results: New folder with AI file, Report file that mentions linked image, and a sub-folder named "links" containing the linked image in the document.
If the linked image is placed outside the rectangle's opacity mask, then Illustrator will copy the linked image to the new packaged folder. As is, this feature is broken. The first document I tried had 30+ linked images in opacity masks, none were packaged.

Serious Issues with New Itunes Release

I'm having serious issues with my Itunes. If I right click on any of the songs and go to reveal in Windows Explorer (so i can find the darn things) it removes pretty much every option from the right click menu, refuses to play music and if i shut down ITunes and try to restart it it refuses to open again. I've tried unistalling and reinstalling the software and i get the same issue. any ideas? its driving me insane and i wish i had never upgraded to the new version because the last version was working just fine.

Also I see that Itunes remains in my task manager in the processes section even after I close it down. any ideas would be woooonderful because i can't live without my music...

Serious Problem with New Mac Pro! Please help!!

Ok, long story short.
My Mac pro keeps crashing after I installed the latest 05-2007 security update. It seems to crash everytime I come back to the computer after the screensaver has been on for a while (its not the screensaver though) I reinstalled the newer v1.1 version of the update and I thought the problem had gone, but it hasnt as the computer just crashed again.
I cannot see any correlation to any other programs, and im 99% sure its not a hardware issue. It does not seem to relate to parallels, or the screensaver, or itunes, or anything!
And there is another crazy thing, when the computer restarts, it says that it recovered from a serious error and asks you to sumit a report, so i click the send report button and do you see a normal report window with all the code ? NO!!! Press report and the initial window just DISAPPEARS, nothing else happens!!! i.e it wont send the but to apple!! no wonder they haven't fixed it!!!

Help with new mail "feature" please...(CANCEL - sorted)

Hi all - somewhere along the line a new (to me at least) really annoying feature has appeared in mail - HELP would really be appreciated in removing it.
Simply mail is now uncontrollably grouping threads using some unknown (at least to me) algorithm - I would like to be rid of this feature - it has caused me to get my first negative on an auction site, because the message was lost in a grouped thread, and not to mention countless other missed messages!
Not only that when I click the "group" it lands at some arbitrary place way back in time, first time I got that it really threw me!
CANCEL it just worked with no messages selected - dont know what I did different!

Serious trouble with new iPod - maybe you can help?

Please help if you can. 15 hours into troubleshooting this and I am desperate!!!
I just purchased a new 5th-gen, 60GB ipod. I already have a 1st gen, 10GB iPod. My old iPod is presently working great with no problems.
The new iPod, however, is not being recognized by my computer or by iTunes. And when I try to plug it in, iTunes freaks. It will stop playing music and freeze on me.
Here is what happened:
1. I knew I had the latest iTunes & iPod software on my computer, so rather than running the CD that came with the iPod, I just plugged in the iPod.
2. When I did so, the computer recognized it as a new device and attempted to (I assume - not sure) install a driver for a while. This went on for about an hour, something seemed wrong, so I disconnected the iPod.
3. At this point, connecting it always has the same behavior. It flashes "don't disconnect". ITunes freezes. Windows Explorer does not recognize or acknowledge its existence.
Here is what I have tried to do:
1. I first tried installing from the CD. This installed an older version of iTunes on my computer. This did not help matters and stopped my current iPod from working.
2. I troubleshooted this and managed to fix my old iPod by uninstalled all iTunes and iPod versions from my computer and reinstalling all of the latest bits.
3. I have doublechecked my USB ports to ensure they are USB 2.0.
4. I have tried restarting my iPod in file mode to see if the computer will recognize it then. No dice.
5. I have tried an iPod reboot, obviously.
6. I have restarted my computer innumerable times.
My gut says this is a driver issue, but I'm not remotely qualified to troubleshoot that. Can anyone help?

Hey, I've got a few questions for you. 1. What kind of computer are you using? (ie: laptop, desktop, whatever else there is..) 2. Have you ever had the 5th Gen. working on you're computer? 3. Have you tried you're 5th Gen. on another computer which, in the past, has detected an iPod?
Done with questions for now I believe. Here's my story. My girlfriend got her iPod (5th Gen.) in April and right when she got it, she hurried over to my house because she's "technologically incompetant". Booted up my Alienware (now an artifact after being purchased new around 1998-2000) and installed all the gadgets just like the instructions said. After finishing all that, I slapped the iPod into a USB2.0 port and WindowsXP detected, found, and installed the driver for the iPod. I used iTunes to put about 500MB's of songs on there then sent her off with her new WORKING (at the moment) iPod. A few weeks later, I guess when she killed the battery, she tells me that her iPod isnt working.
Long story short...
She's using a brand new Dell Inspiron [some number and letters here] laptop computer with WindowsXP.
I did everything exactly as you had described in your first post. Few things are different, her computer has never detected the iPod, WindowsXP never found or installed a driver. When her iPod is plugged into her computer, the iPod either brings up a little battry with a lightening bolt (like it's charging) or brings up the "Do Not Disconnect" screen. After a few hours of leaving it like that and I unplug the iPod, it hastn't gained any charge. I checked to make sure everything, ie: plug and play, were all working correctly and all that good stuff; however, one thing phases me. I took her iPod back to my house and tried it on the computer that had the player working before. After a minute of plugging it in, it was detected and I could add or remove songs using iTunes, in other words: IT WAS WORKING.
I would like to see some kind of solution to our problem (which I believe to be the same) so that I don't have to drive an hour away to the only iPod (Mac) store around to replace it (luckily it is still on the warranty).
If you make any progress, please let me know.

Error with new Package

I am trying to retrieve a variable from an .as file from one mxml file, while setting it from another. I thought I had everything set up, but I am retrieving an error. 1119: Access of possibly undefined property loc through a reference with static type Class. I'm assuming I am missing something, but can't figure out what it is.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Music with new slideshow feature in iphoto 6

First of all where did the old feature of clicking play for a quick view of your pictures go? Secondly when I create a slideshow the music (itunes icon) won't let me select songs from my itunes if they are in a folder--if I click on recently added or even library --gone is the ability to then chose a song from that folder?
any ideas?

It's been replaced with the Play button at the bottom
of the Organize/thumbnail window. It allows you to
play a slideshow, with the slideshow options, of any
photos you've selected without creating a slideshow.
It's the old quick play button on steroids.

Any docs with new 10g features?

Hey,
Were currently evaluating OEM to use to monitor our environments but there are a couple of key features that our manager wants that our current homegrown system offers.
1. Call escallation.. If a problem still exists after the Nth poll by OEM. Basically, if for some reason the prime on-call person doesn't respond to the page then at some point we want to escalate to a manager. We've had problems with pagers before where people were in some buildings for a few hours and come out to receive a flurry of pages.
2. Keep paging... If there is a problem, then unless we blackout the database while were working on it, we want to keep getting paged.
As far as I know 9i OEM doesn't do this.. Any features or workarounds in 10g? I've looked for documentation but haven't seen a complete features doc yet.

Serious Issues with New MacBook

I just recently got a new Macbook 1.83 GHz, and everything seemed to work fine for the first couple of days. No whining or mooing; heat was low overall; no dead pixels; quick performance. Then, everything went to hell.
First, I noticed that the built-in iSight would give me the "green screen of death" every so often, requiring me to reboot to fix it. Then, entire batches of photos starting disapearing from Photo Booth (as if one were to click the "Delete all pictures" button, which wasn't the case). Finally, and the most dreadful, upon starting my MacBook up this morning, I found half the machine reverted to factory defaults (system preferences, pictures, documents, widgets, etc - all erased) while the other half still had some stuff left over (my music was still there....until I started up iTunes, which deleted them all). Each time I login, it seems like more information is lost. What could be the cause of this tragedy, and more importantly: what can I do to fix it?
It's a shame, because I really love my MacBook, and I plan on taking it to Florida with me in a few weeks. So, I would hate to have to return it because of this issue. If there is any do-it-yourself solution to this problem, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

First off, you should always...ALWAYS be backing up your important stuff...whether that be music, photos, files...what have you. You would not have such an issue if you would do that. Once you have backups for your important stuff, when you suffer a problem, you can always do several utility stuff.
Disk verify, Disk repair, repair permissions...etc. These procedures can sometimes clear out errant glitches in your system that kind of start a snowball effect to files.
If those don't take care of things, then I would first try to reinstall the OS, and do a restore of your backed up data and files.
Then you can try calling AppleCare and see if they can help you. In fact, I called Applecare today and they are sending me the shipping box and instructions to return my MB for its problems.
These boards, of late, have been a haven for those who just want to complain without attempting to do anything to solve the problem themselves, so I think some folks that help others around here more than I do are getting to feel unappreciated for their efforts.
So in the future you might want to just state with "just the facts" what has happened, what you have tried to remedy the problem, what tests you may have run...and then I think your message board responses might be a little more productive.
Hope you manage to get a handle on your issues and I hope I get my MB back in a timely manner so I can get back to work.

Serious problems with new driv

I just installed the most recent 2.5 drivers for my x-fi elite pro and I'm having some problems I can't seem to resolve.
The first two problems are that in Audio creation mode, I cannot select 88.2khz. There are presets that allow me to switch up to 96khz. And even though 88.2 is in the list, it will not switch to it. I'm trying to lay down some final tracks for a CD and have to use 88.2, so I'm stuck until I can resolve this issue. Also in audio creation mode, previously I was able to set the EQ in control panel/advanced instead of using the graphic eq. Now with the new drivers, I can move the sliders, but they are doing nothing. No audible difference. In entertainment mode, they work fine though. Lastly, the when switching back to entertainment mode, the volume is stuck on 00% every time. This seems to be the only issue I've seen others mention.
?Anyways, Like I mentioned, I'm stuck right now unable to finish my work (which I have to complete asap) for this CD.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

? Well, for whatever reason rebooting 4 times was the fix for the first two problems. I can now select 88.2 and the eq sliders in control panel/advanced now work. Still having the full volume when switching mode, issue. Hopefully there will be a fix soon. Lastly, is there any way to save snapshots so I don't have to dial in entertainment mode every time there is an update?

i have nokia c6 with latest updates,i bought it ten days ago,i have wifi connecting problem with "invalid server name" error from first day,but two dayz ago i was changing ringtone when loudspeaker and vibration stopped working toghether!wow!
I totally reseted the phone with reset code but it still doesn't solved the problem,any help?

New IOS features

Hi guys and girls,
I was wondering if there was a Cisco mailing list or some type of advertising shoot that Cisco used to advertise new features in IOS software? I have been reading through text books on the new exams in the past to keep up to date but thought that there must be a better way out there that I have simply missed.
Any help will be appreciated. Oh and you can also be the first person to respond to my posts on the forum :S. To be fair I fixed the other issues by myself but it’s always nice to hear from others.

To be completely honest, I would welcome such mailing list or a concise information channel for new and changed IOS features as well. Unfortunately, so far, there are no such focused information sources to my best knowledge.
What you can always visit:
1) Each major IOS generation is documented along with the Release Notes which document the changes, newly added or removed features, solved and open caveats, etc. Following is the list of Release Notes for major IOS versions for routers:

4) As the Catalyst switches have very nice Configuration Guides, they can also be used as sources of information about supported features, including learning about new features - although it may be difficult to know which exact feature has been added in a new version.

EBay does not recognize new security feature requiring security number in Firefox but works with IE

eBay has a new security feature when attempting to e-mail a seller; it requires that you enter a numerical code in a box. When on Firefox eBay does not recognize that I've entered the number and keeps telling me to enter the number but when on IE it recognizes the number. What add-on, etc do I need to make Firefox compatible with eBay? Thanks

The problem seems to be caused by the Java Console add-ons. Disabling mine (6.0.20 and 6.0.21) fixed the problem.

I cannot get into Settings! It keeps reading out Slide to Unlock when I try to slide teh arrow to open the fpur digit entry boxes.
