Serious Issues tried everything, about to give up
Hey there,
Here's the story:
Downloaded some new music for the first time in a couple weeks, went to plug my 3rd gen iTouch in to sync and iTunes said I had an update available for iTunes and Itouch, both got updated. After iTunes finished, iTouch wasn't being discovered. I tried to restore, which deleted all my music from my ipod and left me with the connect to itunes screen. After about 2 weeks of searching the net and trying different things I finally got iTunes to recognize it again by having to use Windows Vista working information to overwrite some stuff on my Windows 7 Itunes. Now it says I need to connect it to another computer to restore (error message 13). So i do this... All is well again! Yay! Not so much, now i have to rewrite my iTunes library and figure out why my Wifi and bluetooth are greyed out and not accessible. I decide its not really worth it right now, i'm not to worried about the wifi so i just rewrite the library. I sync all my music, test it out and everything works. So i decided to try the wifi this morning just in case, start with the basics by turning the ipod off and letting iTunes turn it back on when connected, MISTAKE! Now im back to the connect ipod to itunes screen and error message 13. This is getting EXTREMELY annoying...
Anyone know what to do to fix my error message 13 and wifi?
Same thing happend to me and my daughter, ended up with 2 comatose touches. Apple was no help (big surprise!). My son is a Mac fan and was able to restore everything on his Mac but all was lost again when synced to my HP or Dell, finally got it to be a toy with apps but no music. ****** as I am at Apple, I bought a Mac and got another touch for free, synced my old touch to the Mac and all is well. Buying a Mac may not be the best alternative if you are not in the market for one--Apple answering a question would be a better alternative. Obviously my 2 are not the only Touches to experience this problem and Apple will do nothing! Apple Store was very helpful but their thoughts, recommendations, etc. didn't seem to match corporate Apple's since I did what they recommended and basically got the middle finger from customer service and support at Apple. I am having serious issues trying to alter my old iCloud account with an old non-functioning email to my new apple id with a new email address. The message keeps coming up on all my apple products with my old email (which is not available anymore).
I have the same problem - it is maddening. I rely on this iPad for work so this is not just an annoyance! The above solutions of changing the appleid on the device or on the website do not work.
The old email address no longer exists - I haven't used it in a year probably and I no longer have the account. I logged into the appleid website and there is no trace of the old email address so there is nothing that can be deleted or changed there. On the iPad there is no trace of the old email address so nothing can be deleted there either. I have updated the iPad software and the same problem comes right back. Every 2 seconds I am asked to log in using the old non-existent email. The device is currently useless.
The only recent change to anything was the addition of an Apple TV device, which was set up using the correct login and password.
Does anyone have any ideas? The iPad has been backed up to the iCloud so presumably it now won't recognize the current iCloud account? So restoring may notbe an option? -
Mac Startup Issues- tried EVERYTHING.
I have tried everything, I have followed the Apple Support article on start up issues and I'm still not getting anywhere, I have tried the following:
Booting from Installation Disc and running the Disk Utility, when I try to repair the permissions, they appear to be repairing but after I Verify Disk, the permissions still differ.
Running fsck in single-user mode.
Running in verbacose mode, I get a large string of error messages, I don't know if they'll be any use to anybody?
Repairing the disk.
Everything it says on the article page I have followed to a T and my MacBook still won't load past the grey screen with the Apple logo, irregularly I boot to the blue screen, in which it changes from a dark blue to a light blue on a loop.
I cannot boot into Safe Mode either. I've tried to re-install the Mac OS X, but there is a tiny scratch on the disc and it refuses to install past 27%. Would Apple send me another disc? Or is there somewhere I could download it?

You'll need to have the model and/or serial number of your Mac available. Itunes/Iphone/Ipod device driver issues - tried everything. Still not working.
After hours and hours of research, I'm completely stuck. Here's the basic problem.
When I plug in my Iphone to my laptop, windows pulls up a little window that says installing device driver software. After several minutes, the process fails and a message comes up that says windows found drivers for my device, but encountered an error and wasn't able to install them. In the device manager, the iphone is listed as an "other device" with a yellow triangle/exclamation point. Itunes never recognizes the device.
When I plug in my ipod nano 4th generation, the exact same thing happens, except it's listed in the device manager as an ipod. (same yellow triangle though.)
Up until today, both of these devices have been working properly, syncing without trouble. The iphone synced wirelessly and the ipod every time I plugged it in. I can't figure out what on earth happened to my laptop today that messed things up.
It's also worth noting that I have another older ipod nano... second generation, I think, that plugs in and is recognized immediately, works perfectly.
Here is what I've done so far:
1. I worked through every single troubleshooting guide that Apple has to offer. No change.
2. I did a complete clean install of itunes and all additional components, rebooted and reinstalled. No change.
3. I uninstalled/re-installed usb controllers in the device manager. No change.
4. reset both the phone and the ipod. No change.
5. I've tried various cables. No change.
6. I've run system checks and repair utilities for windows vista.
7. I've used selective start up to see if another program is interfering. I've stood on my head and counted to one hundred. I've only said seventeen swear words.
At this point I've done so much searching and troubleshooting, I can't imagine how anything is going to fix this issue. So this is my last hope. Please oh please be smart enough to tell me what to do...Not sure if this is significant, but in a weird turn of events, when I tried plugging the ipod in this morning, the little message that pops up to install device driver software actually told me the drivers were installed successfully. However, in the device manager, it still says the drivers are NOT installed properly, the little yellow triangle is still there and the ipod still isn't registering in itunes, or my computer. So. Not really any improvement, but a different symptom none the less?
I'm desperate, guys. Someone help? -
Safe boot issues tried everything

I have a MBP with a bad case of safe Boot Issues
Things I have tried:
Disk Repair
Checked S.M.A.R.T status of HDD under linux and run a full surface scan to check HDD is fine
Replaced SATA Cable
Reloaded OSX (upto yosimite)
tried another hdd just in case
replaced top panel (thought maybe it was holding down the shift button)
and a few others I cannot remember at the moment
i'm Thinkin' it's motherboard related but would like a second opinion from the forum guru's
Also I've taken it to the closest apple authorised repair store, and they said it was the HDD, but clearly it isnt as I have replaced it with a brand new one and the sata cable
interestingly enough, If i 6 second death it, upon reboot it works fine, but if i restart normally it hits this problem, I'm thinking maybe its doing some sort of start up check thats causing it?, it seems to work fine if you boot with verbose mode every time without fail, so is verbose mode disabling something upon startup?
I run a repair store here, but im not apple authorized, but as stated before, have gotten further than the people that are.... any help will be greatly appreciatedGood Timing,
I was heading to Christchurch (the only town in the south island with an "apple genius store")
they told me it was the HDD again, even after telling them I have put a new HDD in and also changed the Sata cable!!!
Clearly this isn't going anywhere fast, and although I appreciate the help you have given me, I'm going to nut this one out by myself.

I borrowed a mates mac that was the exact same model and swapped the Motherboards over, worked straight from the get-go

Serious problem, tried everything.
My nano worked ok for about 3 months, all of a sudden, it went bezerk, when i played a song, it never played it, it just skipped to the next song, then the next, then the next...without playing any of them.
At that point itunes had stoped reconizing it (no ipod icon)
I updated it (i thought succesfully), but all the songs disapeared which i thought only happens when u restore. Apperantly though the disk space that my old songs and pictures took up is still being used even though the songs aren't there. Itunes still didn't recognize it.
Uninstalled,Installed,updated itunes several times, nothing. Tried to restore, the ipod program now didn't recognise it, it either asked me to plug in the ipod even though it was already plugged in, or said the device wasn't compatible with the program. I did the 5 r things, and that was just a waste of time. I put it in disk mode to restore it, still didn't work. This is really annoying me and i would really like some useful suggestions. thanks
compaq presario 1600 notebook Windows XPI've put the ipood on disk mode, and when i go to ipod updater it just says initializing... forever. i then go to task manager to quit the program and try again. Then it says, cannot open ipod updater because another program is using ipod. Back to task manager and i see that a program called ipodservice.exe is open (this apperantly opens when you open updater), so i close it, run updater again then i'm back to it initializing forever again. This is really annoying, i've already wasted so much time on this, its unbelievable. Is there anybody at apple we can email to solve this problem? Im in bulgaria (got hte ipod from chicago though)now so its kida hard to call anyone or return it!

I am having serious issues trying to open websites/pages or links which i have never had before. For instance when i open Firefox and my tabs start to load, sites such as Yahoo, Gamespot or Fox News struggle to open (these are just an example of a wider picture) Other times Firefox just freezes either for Minutes on end or completely until it either crashes or i have to task manage out of it. Firefox has total privelages through both my antivirus software and the in built Microsoft firewall. I never used to have this problem and speaking to some friends some of them are experienceing the same thing and due to the lack of help from Firefox have reverted to using Explorer. I do not recieve any error messages or messages stating there are problems with any of the sites that struggle or fail to open. I have tried disabling all add-ons and starting Firefox in save mode but no luck. I have also tried to change the settings in Options / Privacy - History from Remeber History to Use custom settings for history but this just keeps reverting back to original setting. Any help would be greatly appreciated as i don't want to return to using Windows Explorer.
FF4 has problems with script-heavy sites. There are two solutions:
1) Downgrade to 3.6
OR
2) Use a different broser -
This is beyond frustrating. I just wasted 70 dollars between a new battery and gas for my ipod 80gb classic. It was having major issues syncing and freezing with itunes. I tried everything possible and noticed that a lot of people have been having the same issues with their ipod classics as well. I must have restored it several times and now it just totally bit the dust. Now I have to shell out 130 dollars to send it in to apple to be rebuilt/fixed. This is nonsense and I just cant believe apple isn't doing anything to address this issue. My ipod was doing great for about nearly 5 years and now this. I even down-graded to itunes 10.7, but by the time I had it set up to try, that's when my ipod totally failed and will not even come on. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc. -

My Mother did what you said for the Spam and my number was in there about 100 times. She deleted all them. Deleted me as a contact and then rebooted, then she text me and I text her back and I went right into the Spam again. I told her to tell TMobile this so then can maybe help and remove my number from Spam on their end.\

My computer is saying it can't find the file 'iTunes64.msi' when I try to update or redownload iTunes how do I fix this? I've tried just about everything I can think of. I am using a dell laptop running windows 7 and have tried changing the file location to run the update in all of my iTunes files as well as when I've tried reinstalling it.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

IPhone is not showing up in iTunes. I've tried just about everything. Please help!
Everything was working just fine until I updated my iTunes to the latest version (11.1.3).
I'm using a PC with Windows 7. I have an iPhone 5 and a couple of different iPod. Now all of them wont connect to iTunes.
I've tried everything, uninstalling, re-installing, all the troubleshooting and tutorials on the apple support online.
Today I was on the phone for about 30 mins with the apple support staff and we couldn't get it to work.
My other PC, which also Windows 7 has the newest iTunes installed and all of our iPhones and iPods have no trouble.
After I install the new iTunes on this PC, my iPhone is apearing in the computer, but will not connect to iTunes.
iTunes diagnostic will say it is not finding any iPhone or iPod.
I've even removed all of my antivirus software, tried re-installing an older iTunes version, nothing seems to fix it.
The apple support staff I talked to said a few other people have had a similar problem and they don't really know how to fix it.
As far as USB ports, they should all be ok. I've tried other devices (printer, scanner, flash drive) and they are working fine when plugged in.
It must be something to do with the apple mobile device support....?
Anyone's help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!it could be the cord. i have that same issue with my phone and it was the cord. you're not supposed to store the usb cord (or any other electrical cord) in a bunched up manner. anyway, i played around with my cord by bending it in different directions and now the cord works and my phone is recognized again. if all else fails, best to buy a new cord.

forgot my adminpassword, i have tried the reboot with initial disk didn't work, i am able to get into my computer with name and password, but this same name and password doesn't work as an administrators password when i want to download or change things.

It's probably that your Keychain password is not the same as your login password. If you configured your computer to log you in automatically, you may not have used your login password in so long you forgot it.
There is no way to retrieve the "login" Keychain password, but you can reset the Keychain from the Preferences menu: select it in the Keychain Access menu and select "Reset My Default Keychain". This will create a new, empty Keychain but the old one will be saved should you ever remember its password.
The result of this is that you will have to supply passwords for everything that requires it, since without your Keychain they will no longer automatically fill themselves. However, once you supply them and store them in your new Keychain, they will be remembered. -

When I go to plug in my iPhone 5 to my PC it will charge my phone but it doesn't show up that it's connected to my computer or in iTunes. I have tried just about everything that I can find in the support discussions but nothing has worked. Any other suggestions?
If you have carefully follow ALL of the steps in that article, you are using a USB port directly on your computer and not a USB hub (don't use a front port on a tower or desktop either, as they are an internal hub) and you installed iTunes correctly using an Administrator ID and you have tried disabling your antivirus and firewall then there is no hope of it ever working. Look at the tip again, and go through it carefully, not skipping any steps.
Note, BTW, that an iPhone will not show up on a computer, only in iTunes. If there are photos in the Camera Roll then it will appear in Windows as a digital camera only. -
All sites work fine except Gmail will not load. I prefer Firefox, but to be fair, Chrome and IE are doing the same thing when I try to use them. Occasionally Gmail will pop up, most of the time it just endlessly cycles and I don't even get an error message. I'm going to have to get rid of gmail if this goes on.
It's maddening! I've tried everything I could find on mozilla support--restarted in safe mode, clear cache, cookies, etc. This is a brand new Windows 8 laptop. It started a few weeks after I got it. Hello...I'm trying to use Fireworks to create a PNG file for a tab bar icon. I create the image, save it and add it to my solution but the file does not appear. I notice in Finder that the file type is a Firworks PNG file and not a regular PNG file.
