Serious privacy breach - Ovi Store offers Skype To...

Basically what the title says.
I updated Skype and found myself with a version of Skype which also has a Tom.com logo. An Internet search for "Skype Tom.com" showed that this version sends data to a Chinese company. This exposes all non-China users using Skype for Symbian to a serious privacy breach.
There are two programs in the store called Skype with exactly the same description. One has one screenshot with the Tom.com logo and currently a review score of three stars and is at version 2.4.5 and one has three screenshots without the Tom.com logo and currently a review score of 4 stars and is at version 2.0.5. People with the non-Tom.com version (2.0.5) are being offered an upgrade to the Tom.com version (2.4.5) which sends data to China.
I uninstalled this version with the App Manager, re-installed the old version, restarted the phone and went back into the shop and was again offered an update to the Skype Tom.com version. Obviously I didn't update this time.
It is not up to users to get bounced between Skype Support and Tom.com support since this is obviously wrong Store behaviour as the Store offers the wrong program for update. Please fix ASAP.

Nokia's non-comment on this is rather disquieting.

IPad2 Safari or iCloud Privacy Issue, unknown user's history appears

After turning the new iCloud on, my iPad2's Safari shows browsing "history" of unknown user. Just today, in the morning I cleared my history and cache before I left home. When I returned home this evening and opened Safari, it started with google image page showing offensive images. I checked history and it showed dozen google images search links. The content include baby poops, touching elephants, and injured nipples and so forth that are very obscene.
I am suspecting this to be iCloud bug. APPLE! Please look into this as I do not want my little child to accidentally hit Safari and see these unacceptable photographs!!!! This is very serious privacy violation matter!

We were all out all day today, and this is what happened first thing after we came home. I am aware that Apple is not going to necessarily see this, and the point is everyone should know this potential issue. Besides, there are other better ways to spread the words like Twitter, FB, etc. The fact that someone already saw the posting within a few minutes is amazing.

Serious Power Issues with T61

All,
The organization I work for has started to have some serious power issues with our T61 model Thinkpads. Additionally, the problem now seem to be carrying over into our T500 Thinkpads.
About 4 months ago we started receiving consistant calls regarding users that can't power their laptops on. These are T61 and T500 laptops mounted to mobile carts in our various nursing units in numerous hospitals. These laptops sit stationary for 95% of the time and are almost always plugged into wall power. We quickly discovered that the only way to get the laptops to power on was to unplug them from all power sources and reseat the battery, after which they powered right on. We've had this problem in the past with users T61s that aren't on carts, but this is slightly different as the batteries on the cart mounted laptops are always 100% drained after we reseat them.
I'm completely baffled by this issue. I've tried every variation of 3 different carts, -- one with external battery on cart, two without -- both 90 and 65 watt power supplies, and standard and 9 cell batteries that I can come up with and the problem continues to occur. Initially we had atributed the problem to ESD because this started during the low humidity months of winter, but it is now spring and the problem is still happening.
Under normal circumstances I'd just replace the few ailing laptops and call them in under warranty, but this seems to be a general model issue as this is occuring across the board on 100+ laptops at this hospital alone. Any assistance to help identify the issue and/or how to resolve it would be appreciated.

Do you have a critical situation open for this? If so, while you are free to post here, working through the project office as a managed account should get you to the right level of support to address an issue that sounds pervasive, and may or may not be influenced by unknown environmental factors.

What model type T61's are you experiencing this issue with? Can you provide some more information here about the situation? Configuration, when this first started occuring, environment (connected to lan, wired / wireless, stand alone, all in same physical location, or distributed at multiple locations, etc)

HT201406 iPod Touch has serious audio issues

iPod Touch has serious audio issues. Audio turns 'scratchy' or will not play at all. Have tried hard shut down and system restore with no results. Help.please?

I actually just had a call with an apple IT person - he had me go to "settings" on my touch, and reset, then "reset all settings".
my volume bar came back and it is now working with all my speakers, in the car, headphones, etc.

Serious resolution issues with After Effects CC (2014) on Windows 8.1 Pro on Dell Precision M3800 laptop??

My new company installed Adobe Creative Cloud (There was some annoying Proxy issues at first, because of the seriously tight I.T policies) but we are having some serious resolution issues with After Effects CC 2014 (also have this resolution problem with Adobe Premiere, Media Encoder, Muse) on Windows 8.1 Pro on a Dell Precision M3800 laptop with icons and interface looking too small and hard to see, is there a fix, an update or a work around, can anyone help?
Any help will be appreciated!

Hi Todd is there a time-frame for this fix, there is a lot of pressure on me, because I convinced my company to get the Creative Cloud and quite a lot of the CC software is not compatible with the latest Windows 8.1 OS.
Is there at least a work around, until this big fix comes along?

Adobe Photoshop touch to Mac and back without adobe cloud costs & privacy issues.

How do I transfer files between Adobe Photoshop touch and my adobe creative suite applications on my mackintosh computer? I do not want to pay for additional adobe cloud services. In addition I have concerns over the privacy of adobe's cloud for certain images. As a retired plastic surgeon, I have used Photoshop for years to help with public and patient education. Final posted images can have privacy concerns addressed. I do understand that I can transfer a single layer from Photoshop touch back to the computer by mail or camera roll. procreate has a Photoshop export tool.
Where is Photoshop touches export tool? if the only tool is through the additional monthly charges of the cloud, you are alienating loyal Adobe customers.

Thank you for your help. I have finally figured out and shared my first image. The fear was that I was going to be charged a monthy fee just by using the service. It would be nice if there was a footnote with something to that effect. All I was seeing was the monthy and yearly fees.

When I run Advanced System Care by IoBit I always get many privacy issues that need to be removed from my computer and I would like to have Firefox stop this.

I run Advanced System Care 7 by IoBit on my computer daily. It always finds dozens if not hundreds of privacy issues caused by FireFox that need to be removed. I would like to continue using Firefox but will uninstall it if the program keeps causing so much clutter on my machine. I have a Compaq Presario F730US running Vista Home Premium. I do not want FireFox to place ANY cookies or other items on my computer.

So first off, Advanced system care is a piece of junk. It does nothing to improve computer security or performance, and can actually harm your computer. I strongly suggest you remove any iobit products immediately and find a real anti-virus.
Second, cookies can be controlled. They aren't placed on your computer by Firefox, but by websites. You would find that no matter what browser you use you will have cookies from websites you visit.

Privacy issues with Reader

I work in a library. I cannot get Adobe Reader to show 0 file names. It retains 1 file name -a privacy issue for library patrons. Does anyone know how to change or edit this? Thanks.

We are continually working to improve our iOS Reader, and we should address several of your requests over the coming year, as well as bringing many other things out. I can't reveal a lot right now, but stay tuned!
Regarding item 6, you are correct. Due to the way that iOS works, there is no way for the Adobe Reader to read or write directly from another app's location, or to remove files from that other app's folder once they have been sent to the Adobe Reader.

Variable Privacy Issue

This is my first post so hi to everyone.
In my program I need to keep the value in some variables when it leaves that class. For example I am running a menu class which gives options. When an option is selected I go to that class and run it. However the values put in the variable need to be stored and kept so that they can be added to in other classes from the menu.
To do this I have done:
private static String wordArray[];
private static int arrayLength;
which allows me to keep the values and add to them.
My question is will this be a privacy issue? Or are they any other issues that will make my program a security risk from doing this?
If so does anyone have any suggestions about others ways to do this? Thanks alot.
P.S: The values only need to be kept for that run of the program. Not stored after the program is quit.

For offsets instead of creating 12 different selection you should give range.
e.g. variable-12 to variable
Restrict -> value ranges -> between
Then select same variable in both from and to input boxes.
Once you transfer it to right and select the offset, it will ask offset two times.
One for - from variable
next for - to variable
Select -12 and 0 respectively.
It should give you prior 12 period offset.
It will increment/decrement according to values of master data. So if you have master data fro 13/2008 then only it will go to that period, otherwise 01/2009 will be selected.

Serious UI issues in SQL Developer 4.0 for Mac

I've encountered some serious UI issues in SQL Developer 4.0 for Mac (4.0.0.13) that impact it up to the point where it becomes unusable.
If the database and tables are expanded in the "Connections" view, sometimes a node in the tree seems to become sticky. Whenever you scroll the up or down, it will immediately scroll back to make the old selection visible again. If you want to work with an item that's outside the current view (e.g. to collapse the "Tables" node), you can no longer use it. SQL Developer needs to be restarted.
If the context menu is opened (ctrl click), it appears in the wrong place. It's too far to the right and bottom. If you then move the mouse pointer towards the menu, a rectangle appears and follows the mouse pointer as if you had initiated a drag and drop operation.
If the "Data" tab of a table is selected and if a cell is clicked to edit the cell value, the text cursor is drawn in the wrong position. It can be off by more than one character and it is often drawn in the middle of a character instead of between two characters. It's hardly possible to edit the cell value as you cannot tell for sure where insertions and deletions will happen. You basically need to copy the value into a separate editor, edit it there and copy it back.
The scrolling in the "Data" tab of a table is a pain. For no obvious reason, it first scrolls downwards a few rows and then jumps to the top (at least using a Magic Mouse). If all rows have been loaded, this problem seems to disappear. But generally, the scrolling distance is far too short. With a long finger swipe, one would expect to scroll the contents by several pages. However, it only scrolls about half a page. For shorter swipes, it's similar. It sometimes only scrolls by a few pixels.
Am I the only one to experience these severe problems? Or is the Mac version not as mature as the Windows version yet?

In terms of diagnosis, perhaps not -- probably very time-consuming to debug. I did find some unpublished bugs against dual monitor use ...

The first turned out to be an issue in the 64-bit Java AWT libraries, not the 32-bit libraries, and specifically for Windows 7 as opposed to, say XP, but this was all quite a bit in the past and was fixed for 4.0. The second one (on 64-bit Linux), however, just came in yesterday, so you can wait to see if a fix for that also covers your situation or, if you are able, pursue it directly with Oracle Support.

My laptop becomes slow after incurring privacy issues (118000 in one day) that are noted as being mozilla profiles

I clear my laptop with A S C programme but latest review identified 118000 privacy issues in less than one day. This is a regular problem. Needless to say this overall issue slows my computer down until I clean it up again. The programme I use identifies the privacy issues are down to Mozilla profiles.

SERIOUS lag issues with Intel iMac

Hello everyone,
I'm pretty frustrated right now. I've been having this serious lag issue with my new iMac for the past few days. I think it may have started after I ran the last security update.
What happens:
When switching between apps, the system will hang for 1-3 seconds between doing anything. This includes typing, mouse requests, etc. It's VERY frustrating. I have activity monitor open currently, and I am seeing both Safari and SystemUIServer hogging up the CPU resources like CRAZY. I've even seen Safari recently give a CPU usage of 120%, right before I loaded this webpage. tis isn't just centralized to Safari too.... I have the following apps running:
Adium 0.89.1
FoireFox 1.5.0.8
Safari
Activity Monitor
My Memory stats currently are:
175MB Wired
708MB Active
618MB Inactive
1.47GB Used
There should be no reason I'm getting these lags with just two web browsers and a chat client open.
Has anyone else expierenced the lags?? Any suggestions? I'm almost ready to reinstall OS X and not run the last security update. Thanks

I would manually run this script from The X Lab, and my load times would improve greatly. The problem was, I would forget to run them untill I noticed web pages loading slow or iTunes and iPhoto taking for ever. It wasn't untill someone here in discussions suggested Anacron that I saw the light. WOW what a difference Anacron has been making in my overall system speed. My iMac has not been shutdown for 11days 5hrs 34mins (sleep or use only) and opening new App's, switching App's and web pages load as fast or faster than after a fresh start up. If your system is operating properly and you are having only what seems to be a slow or sluggish issue Anacron will make a difference.
