After updating to the latest version of iTunes 12.1.0.71,my ipad mini is not being picked up by itunes even though its showing its connected and i can see it Explorer under My Computer!Even third party programs like Tong Bu assistant aren't working anymore.I have tried reinstalling and switched my device on and off multiple times.Please help...

This doesn't make sense. Your statement "even though it's showing its connected" means that iTunes does see the iPad. Or am I misreading what you are saying?

Problems with latest version of iTunes
When I launched iTunes last night, I was prompted to download the new version. Now, when I attach my iPod(60GB Video), its not recognized by iTunes, but is recognized as a storage device by Windows.
I tried to download iTunes again and reinstall, but received an error message.
HELP!Unfortunately, there is no one ‘Silver Bullet’ answer for this issue. Many things can contribute to the problem. Here are various ‘generic’ solutions that you can try in an effort to correct your problem. One should work. These are listed in simplest to more involved order (usually).
First, make sure that the iPod is fully charged.
Try Resetting Your iPod while it's connected to the computer.
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo (or Menu & Play/Pause in older models).
This will often get it recognized. It may take several attempts.
Try closing and re-starting iTunes. There have been cases where iTunes refuses to see an iPod, but after re-starting, it works again.
Also try re-booting the entire computer. Especially if the PC has been operating for a long time &/or many programs have been opened and closed, repeatedly.
Other USB connected peripherals may be the cause as well. Try removing all connected USB items and attaching the iPod. If you have a USB keyboard, it may be worth a try using the adapter to convert it to non-USB. If the iPod connects, continue plugging things back in until you have the problem return. You may have then isolated the issue. Sometimes it could be a printer, camera, Flash Card reader, or other attached device causing a conflict.
If your iPod shows up in Explorer under 'my computer' try changing the drive letter:
-- Click on Start=>Control Panel=>Admin Tools=>Computer Management=>Disk Management
-- Right-Click on the iPod and select “change drive letter”
-- Choose something further along in the alphabet that is unused (Usually, “M”, “N”, “O” or something similar)
-- Safely eject the iPod
-- Reboot the PC
If that doesn't work, Put Your iPod into Disk Mode then plug it in and you should be able to Restore the iPod
Your PC may have difficulty with the USB2 protocol and the iPod. See this Article for a possible solution: iPod not Recognized Correctly
Also try these hints (and the other suggestions above) from any other USB port you may have on the PC. Sometimes switching USB ports can make all the difference.
Try using another PC if you have access to one. Even a Mac may help. Try Restoring it on the other computer and moving it back to yours.

Never mind, I think. I think I figured it out. There was 1 song (out of > 900!) that somehow had been purchased with the other ID - I have no idea how. Once I deleted that song, it stopped asking.
There may be something with the newest iTunes version too. I didn't think in older versions that the "On this iPod" list of songs was greyed out. But at least it syncs ok. -

Problems with latest version of Muse
I'd like to report some problems with latest version of Muse. Its actually all related with scroll effect.
1. In previous version I had a group of rectangles and when I added to them motion (initial motion: 0 everywhere, final motion: 0 everywhere) they where sliding nicely down during scrolling my page, and it happened only in y line (horizontally). Now its moving also on the right and left, when I am changing size of window. Other thing is that in firefox this group of rectangles is pinned to bottom of window.
2. I have footer that I want to be always pinned to the bottom of window. The footer is a group of objects: rectangle + one png file with hyperlink, and one text with hyperlink - and of course it worked perfectly in previous version, but now finally when I export the page I have only the rectangle without hyperlink on the bottom of the page and the rest is missing.
I hope I explained it clearly? I did my best :-)I have a same problem like no.2.
Finally, I fixed it.
First, You have to ungroup the footer objecs.
Second, Group again that.
Then export your site.

Serious problem with my iPod Classic/iTunes
I have a 6th Generation iPod classic (80 GB), and recently, I have been having some serious problems with it.
When I connect it to iTunes, there is usually no problem, it shows up, plays and displays the music correctly, etc. However, if I try to ADD any music to it, iTunes will freeze, then close, and within 5 minutes, my entire computer will freeze completely, and be shut off. For whatever reason, happen when my iPod finally disconnects because my computer turned off, all of my music is missing from the library (This doesn't happen every time it freezes, because I try to disconnect my iPod manually before everything freezes). The music is still on the iPod, (it says that I have XX.X GB of "other" instead of music/videos), but it doesn't show up. When I plug in my iPod, iTunes says that there was a problem and I need to restore it. The first time this happened, I lost over 5,800 songs, but I forgave Apple, because these things do occasionally happen, plus I had no idea what exactly went on. The SECOND time happened within the same week, after I had put 800 songs back on the restored iPod. The first time happened when I was using iTunes 10 (which is seriously buggy on my computer, and freezes often), so I switched to iTunes 9 (still buggy, but doesn't freeze quite as much), and the same thing happened. So now I'm thinking it's my iPod's fault. My iPod does a whole host of minor problems over time such as making certain songs cut off at a certain specific point for no reason (Always the same song, always the same cut off point, and I can't fast forward past it, I also can't delete the songs because if I highlight them on iTunes, iTunes will freeze, and if I find them under the music folder in iPod control, my computer will freeze), freezing the entire iPod for seemingly no reason, and somehow messing up my album artwork (it will appear as "Colourful Static"), along with alot more.
I know this is a troublesome problem, but if anyone could somehow shine some light on this problem, it would be tremendously appreciated.

-Eric LunaUnfortunately, when a hard drive starts clicking that means it's going bad. The mechanism is having trouble reading the drive. Since the iPod is mostly just a harddrive and a battery I have a feeling that this is your problem.

about 25ss in is where the clicking starts. If it sounds like that, but softer and more muffled since it is a smaller drive that is being enclosed then I think you might be SOL. Maybe if you're iPod is still under warranty you can get a credit and go for a touch and avoid moving parts all together? -
I have an original iphone. With the latest version of itunes, 10.5, it no longer syncs. The name of my device doesn't appear in itunes just a gneric iphone. I know its old and apple no longer provides updates to ios but taking away my ablilty to sync is hard to believe. Any suggestions
Did you do a backup of iOS before you changed iTunes?
I would do a reverse and go back to the old iTunes, then update your iPhone and then update iTunes.
Version 4.x of iOS has been out forever, update, update, update.....it is very important to maintain compatability in hardware & software devices/pcs'/Macs. -

Problem installing latest version of iTunes
Hi. Since about version 6 of iTunes I have always had difficulty installing the latest version of the program. Whenever I go to install it i get the message:
Could not open key: HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\Classes\QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp\CLSID. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
Then the installation rolls back. I have just bought an iPod Touch and would very much like to sync it. I read this: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1462
which mentioned that possibly an earlier version of iTunes was installed using a different account. This is the case but i have deleted that account. I also entered the regedit and tried to change the permission on it but when i enter my own account it says 'Unable to save permission changes on QuickTimePlayerLib.QuickTimePlayerApp. Access is denied.'

You could try a general repair of registry permissions for Windows XP as in this article, it has fixed quite a few registry permission issues in the past.

You need to be a confidant computer user to do it as it is quite an involved process. The script take a long time to run so be patient.
It is a good idea to have your system backed up when to do this kind of thing. -
Ipod touch not synching with latest version of Itunes
I connect my Ipod touch 2nd generation 8 gig to Itunes latest version and it makes the moves as if it were synching but contacts and events do not appear on the Ipod after synching. I mean new events and contacts. I have erased duplicates on my MacBook Pro and they still appear on the Ipod. What could this be? Helo!
Syncing, unless you are loading a 64g touch for the first time, should only take a matter of minutes. Tap your iPod to wake it up and hit "Cancel Sync". Not sure what happened, but that isn't correct.
Anyway, to do a forced calendar sync where your iPod calendar is overwritten is pretty easy. With your iPod plugged into iTunes and showing in "Devices", click on the Info tab (far right). Scroll to the bottom and you will see the "Advanced" section. Pick the area you want to overwrite and resync your touch. -
Latest version is not very good! I am using Firefox and have just installed the latest version (11,7,700,224). Playing Forge of Empires it is massively laggy, can wait for several minutes before it accepts mouse clicks (when scrolling so far as I can see - it just blocks); and the bug which causes it to crash whenever the screen is turned off is still there.

Iphone 4 does not syncing with latest version of itunes
Dear other users,
My iphone 4 was syncing really great for several weeks on my windows XP computer. Suddenly it was not possible syncing anymore. Probably I used my iphone 4 while syncing. Now when I push the USB cabel into my computer the computer crashes and starts up in the 'save mode'. Even after re-installation of the newest version of itunes there is no live between the iphone 4 and my computer. When I try to sync itunes starts up for only 1 second, and then the computer starts up again. In stead of the text: 'iphone fond on your computer' (when pushing USB cabel into computer) I can see the text: Digital Still Camera. So probably the computer recognises only the camera from the iphone????

Today I tried my iphone on an other window XP computer (a computer where no itunes was installed in de past). And I made another account for itunes on that computer after installing itunes. The connection was perfect and my iphone could syncing with itunes, no problemes at all. After that I tried my iphone on my own computer with the new account for itunes, but there was the same crash and restart as in the past (problems in sector one of the harddisk?). Now I'm sure for 100% that there is a computer problem and not an iphone problem, caused by interrupting the syncing procedure by myself through using the iphone. I hope the problem can be solved in the near future, cause I can imagine that I'm not the only one who tried to do this.

Problems installing latest versions of iTunes
this started happening around the iTunes 7.3 release. When i go to install the new version of iTunes, it says that it can't access the file iTunes.msi. I could find the file, but no matter what i tried, it didn't work. So uninstalled my iTunes and deleted all the files, and then tried to install the newest version and it still gave me the same message. Now I can't run iTunes on my computer, what am I supposed to do?
It sounds as though you need to cleanup your installer files.
Here are some instrauctions for a full uninstall and cleanup:
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime

Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instruction on the page as well as the download.

Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:

If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility.
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
If it does, install iTunes. -

I„m very disappointed because after upgrading to the latest version of Ovi maps it seems I can„t use it anymore.The software keep tries to get my position with no results.The red spot keep blinking but I can„t get localized.
My phone is n97 with the latest firmware installed.Any idea please?

Can you confirm what version of OVI Maps you have installed by going to "?" within application > About Maps > Versions?
Have you been using Assisted GPS positioning method requiring network access point or just managing with Integrated GPS on previous version? Any adjustments can be made by going to Menu > Applications > Location > Positioning.
