Server 4.0 can't edit users and groups. All options greyed out.

I have upgraded the mac mini server from Mavericks to Yosemite and had to update to Server 4.0 and having many issues.
One issue is I can't edit users and groups. All the options are greyed out.

Search the System keychain on the server for application passwords with the name "/LDAPv3/127.0.0.1" and delete any you find. Sign out of the Server app and sign back in using the FQDN of the server, not "localhost" or "127.0.0.1".

This means that the Finder can't find a match in the accounts/groups database for the numeric UID assigned to those files. Either the records associated to those accounts have been deleted, or the database is corrupt. In either case, you should restore a copy of it from backup.

MAJOR Open Directory issue: Can't assign Users and Groups that DO exist!

Just noticed the following today:
When doing Get Info -> Permsissions on files/folders located on my File Server share, Owner and Group show as (unknown).
When I go into WGM -> Sharing, and look at files/folders on File Server share this way, the Owner and Group fields are blank.
When I attempt to (re)assign an Owner or Group by dragging them from Users and Groups section of WGM, error tells me User or Group no longer exists. These Users and Groups clearly do exist in WGM -> Accounts.
When I look at files on File Server share via CLI, instead of actual names for Users and Groups, I see their uid and gid's. Chowning via CLI fails as well.
I've noticed all Users and Groups with this issue are OD.
Server is xServe G4 DP 1.0 GNz/1 GB RAM/Mac OS X Server 10.4.7 Unlimited. This servers been running fine as an OD Master for months now. ACL's are enabled on this File Server share point. I've always had weird permissions issues, but NEVER the inability to assign OD Users and Groups to files/folders.
I'm at a loss here, not to mention my wits end.
Did my OD become corrupted?
Any and all help would greatly appreciated.

Can't import users and group backup

I exported the list of user names and groups prior re-installing 10.6 server.
Now when I try to import the backup, I get the error:
"The following users could not be imported because each of their first short names contains an invalid character (such as a period.)"
followed by the list of my users.
According to Apple's user creation documentation, the following characters are allowed:
"For the first short user name, use only these characters. Subsequent short names can contain any Roman character.
* a through z
* A through Z
* 0 through 9
* _ (underscore)
* - (hyphen)
. (period)"
Is that a bug? is there a way around it ?

I am also encountering the same problem. Can anyone assist?? I had to demote my OD due to a DNS change and lost 200+ accounts unless we can find a solution.

Can´t view users and groups

I need to asign quotas to certain users but the list of users or groups appears empty when trying to do it in Xsan Admin. This worked fine before. What can I do to see/load the list again?

Did u bind this machine to the OD? If it is bound u should be able to see all the users.

Can't partition with disk utility. Options greyed out

Hi,
Bought a used 4 TB Seagate drive, formatted it , checked the speed 150 MB/s read/write and made a partition. Apparently it worked perfect.
However after this first partition the drive is behaving erratically. I can not modify partitions anymore nor delete them. Repair disk is not finding any problem either from the system or from the recovery partition.
I am starting to believe the disk is damaged. Beside the partition problem the disk is behaving fine. Anyone please?

Thanks. I already did. The disk whose partitions I can not modify is blank. It is the 3rd disk in the Mac pro. I formatted and created 2 partitions. But then I can not create more partitions nor delete them. I tried from the Recovery volume with the same result. Partition options remain greyed out.
Beside that, if you look at the pictures, CCC 4TB and CCC 4TB2 are the same physical drive but seem to be different in disk utility. Is this disk damaged?

Fix and Fix All buttons greyed out in Analyzed Results List

The Fix and Fix All buttons are greyed out in the Analyzed Results List. This was working preTiger at least. Perhaps after my initial clean install of 10.4.1. Now running 10.4.3. Things I've tried to no avail:
Reading the documentation and "Late Breaking News".
Repaired permissions.
Repaired disk. (found no problems)
Ran Disk Warrior (found no problems)
Trashed SountrackPro prefs file.
Tried several existing and three new Audio File Projects on the internal and an external firewire drive.
Searched for a similar topic in this forum.

It works for me.
First you have to select what you want to fix (e.g.
clicks and pops) then press the analyze button to get
a list of things to fix.
Right after the analysis is done, if at least one
thing was found to fix,you should see the "fix all"
button not greyed out, but the "Fix" button will be
greyed out until you actually click on one or more
of the items in the analysis result list.

My experience and information is that Soundtrack Pro only finds clipped samples. Have you been able to fix them as well?

Can't update Adobe programs. Update option greyed out, DL'd update fails. Win7, PScs6, AIcs5, FLcs6?

None of my Adobe programs give me the option to update. The option is greyed out under the Help menu. It fails when trying to update through Bridge. When I download the update through a browser and try to update that way, I get the message:

It seems like you have created a Package using AAMEE. Could you please try creating an update package again using AAMEE for all the softwares and then try using them on the machine.

Webcenter spaces user and group and WLS security realm

I want to configure external ORACLE DB,
I configed the security realm in WLS, and I can see the user and group list in WLS page, But I cant find any of them in webcenter spaces,
and also can not login with those users.
I added a user with WLS, it works well.
do I need to do other configrations?

First you need to create a Administrator for this new identity stores. Weblogic user is not identified now because its not mapped by first authenticator. See Oracle WebCenter Admin Guide, section 28.4.1.1 Granting the WebCenter Spaces Administrator Role Using FusionMiddleware Control. Once you have done this step, do the same steps for other application user. For this you have to give Application role to other user so that they can login and use WebCenter Space.See Oracle WebCenter Admin Guide, Section 28.4.2.1 Granting Application Roles Using Fusion Middleware Control.
After doing above steps, restart WC_Spaces managed server.

Refer: How to: Grant User Access to a Report Server (Report Manager), but this gives a step-by-step procedure for
adding users who are a part of the Domain. In your case you are trying to add users who are not a part of the domain, meaning, you are trying to create users only specific to Reporting Services, am I right?
But Reporting Services either relies on AD to authenticate the users, or you can create a custom-authentication extension to authenticate the users.
In your case, you might need use a custom security extension, and use that to create/delete/modify users. Check the Forms authentication Sample here:

How to reset users and groups in Server.app?

Recently after change settings in the Server.app (like turn off/on open directory, delete/add certificates), I got a strange problem:
In the users and groups list, it display all local users and groups (looks like system users and groups, about 100 users and groups, but this is a new server)
I tried reset the server.app by following
howto reinstall/reinitialize os x server

These users and groups still showing there.
Have you seen this before and how can I completely reset the server.app to factory default so that I can start over the set up?

In theory, that should restore the users. You can do some surgery if you are really brave. But the reinstall generally should be enough.
These accounts are in the DSLocal data store. Basically, this is very similar to the any OS X machine. Apple keeps a default copy of the Local Database here:
/System/Library/DirectoryServices/DefaultLocalDB/Default
Should you need to reset a machine to the default local database, you can remove the current database (/var/db/dslocal/nodes/Default) and then copy the default one to the same location. I would not go this far unless the reinstall was unsuccessful.
To check, you can run this command:
dscl . list /Users
That will list all the Users in the local DB. To get a count, pipe to wc
dscl . list /Users | wc -l
On a Server that I just jumped on, I see 79 users and 111 groups (dscl . list /Groups | wc -l) But this is a system will man SACL groups so I likely have more than the default.

Both Web Intelligence and Desktop Intelligence comes with designers, where you have a GUI to design reports.
Web Intelligence you'd design in InfoView using the DHTML Report Panel or the applet-based Java Reporting Panel.
Desktop Intelligence you'd use the Desktop Intelligence client.
ReportEngine Java SDK (REBean) is what you'd use to programmatically create/modify Web Intelligence Documents.
Desktop Intelligence Reporter COM SDK is what you'd use to programmatically create/modify Desktop Intelligence Documents.
