Server 4 (yosemite) doesn't support wiki group calendars anymore

when i create an internet account with "https://server-adress:8443/principals/wikis/goupname/"
for calendar app i don’t get any data.
if i look at the error prtocols, i see this:
[txdav.who.wiki#error] Wiki ACL lookup failed: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'uid'
but i can still access the calendar via safari.
does anyone have an idea?

I have been struggling with this same issue ever since I upgraded my server with Yosemite and the latest server.app. I had many clients accessing one wiki calendar with no problems and now it won't work.
I had this kind of uri set in my clients CalDAV accounts: "https://server-address:8443/principals/__uids__/wiki-wikigroupname/" (which seems to be an alternative to the one you had) and everything just worked perfectly. But now it does not get anything.
So this made me wonder that how can this web calendar work, as it’s accessing to the same WebDAV resources. And while looking Apache logs it seems that web calendar is successfully responding (HTTP 207) to PROPFIND and REPORT requests on  /calendars/__uids__/wiki-wikigroupname/calendar/ while same resource responds (HTTP 503) to different user agent (same credentials)
This really irritates me, because not only it’s not working with OSX Calendar, but also as it’s not working with IOS (8.1) devices either. And if you try to use the wiki web calendar with IOS device, you get a notification “Web calendars are not available on Mobile Safari. You can configure access from Calendar application on iPhone, iPod Touch or a Mac or view them in a Web browser on a Mac or Windows-based PC”.

  • How to sync to Snow Leopard Server wiki group calendar

I'm running the Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server in our law office of 8 attorneys.  We all use PC's with Outlook 2010.  We don't have Microsoft Exchange Server, and we bought the Snow Leopard Server because of its advertisement that you could achieve the same results on it as on Exchange Server, but without the cost.  SOUNDS LIKE-------OH WELL.  We want to be able to see everyone's calendar events on 1 calendar if possible.  I setup a Group Wiki for the group "Attorneys".  When I open that wiki, I've set it to be accessible by all attorneys in the group.  When the attorneys accounts were setup in Workgroup Manager, the Attorneys group was also setup, and they have access to the group.  I've been trying to figure out how to do this, and the result that seems to come closest is the Wiki Attorneys Group Calendar.  I have setup separate calendars in it for each attorney.  And so you can see them all on one screen, or deselect and only see the calendars you want.  Now the problem is how do I get the existing events off of Outlook 2010 on each machine and into the respective calendars in the Group Wiki, and also update that calendar as events change on each attorney's Outlook calendar?  If there is some better way to do this I'm certainly open for suggestions.  I don't believe that you can "sync" the iCal client calendar with the Wiki Calendar.  If you can that might also be a solution.  Thanks.

Luckily, I wasn't asked to purchase the 'Server' when I upgraded from SLS to Mountain Lion via the AppStore. I think your particular problem was mentioned in some other posts where the upgrade path to Lion became an infinite loop (hmmm... ). But that's all in the past now. Glad it all worked.

  • Using a wiki group calendar in ical

    Dear all,
I have searched the forum now for quite some hours but I haven't found any sollution. I am running a Lion Server 10.7.2. I have setup iCal server and a wiki. I am trying to set up a group calendar, which is working, BUT I am having trouble to setup my iCal accessing that specific calendar.
Let's presume I am trying to get this work for testing in my own LAN first, so I am currently working with IP-addresses.
    Server IP: 192.168.100.37
    wiki's name: test
I can access the calendar through the webserver but of course I wanna use iCal.
I have learned from other posts that the iCal-account should be set up like this
    http://mainserver.example.com:8008/principals/__uids__/wiki-intern/
This would mean for my server
    http://192.168.100.37:8008/principals/_uids_/test
if I am correct. However iCal is telling me afterwards that no calendar has been found on the server. Does anyone have an idea what I am doing wrong?
    Thank you so much.

    hi andre,
do u have the solution for this problem? i have the same problem

  • My calendar won't allow me to rename calanders nor will it recognize my group calendars anymore

My calendar won't allow me to rename a newly created calendar, whether it is a group calendar or not. I've tried restarting and it will not allow me to make a new group calander.

Well, after considerable time, I have figured things out and iCloud does in fact work with my Outlook 2007. I think most problems stem from the fact that iCloud doesn't work well if you also have a Mobileme account and that it works differently than traditional syncing when tethered with iTunes.
After setting up iCloud using the Control Panel icon, open Outlook and go to Calendars.  You should see the “Calendar in iCloud” as one of you choices in the left panel.  Select the iCloud Calendar as your default Calendar by moving it up to the top and point to it for your address book.  It dosen't matter if your standard Calendar in Outlook is blank, because you are now using the iCloud calendar exclusively.  If you turn off iCloud in the control panel by signing out, iCloud will re-populate your standard Calendar in Outlook and you will no longer see the "Calendar in iCloud.  On your iOS devices, turn on iCloud and select only the iCloud calendar to view.  The iCloud Calendar will update when you make changes and Outlook and all you devices will see those changes because they are all looking at iCloud Calendar.  Your standard device Calendar or the default Calendar in Outlook do not sync with iCloud.  Contacts in Outlook will include “contacts in iCloud” on the left panel and works the same as Calendars.  When you are done out can see Calendar events and Contacts sync instantly on all you devices and in Outlook... very cool.
You can easily remove duplicates in the iCloud Calendar or Contacts in Outlook.   See instructions here http://support.microsoft.com/kb/299349   Apple’s new iCloud software works, but they could have done a better job in anticipating these type of problems and removing them or at least explaining how to deal with them.
    I hope this helps!

  • Multiple calendars under one wiki group

I have set up iCal server and web services and all is working fine, apart from group (wiki) calendars?
The Problem: A wiki was created with the name matching a workgroup managers "groups short name"
The group name in workgroup manager "WDA It" the short name "wdait", therfore the wiki was named "wdait" to match.
These instructions come from apple support.
when you log into the wiki with a user that is part of a group that has been given read write privileges to access that wiki you see the default "Calendar"
when you add the wiki calendar to a clients iCal using their username and password and the server address https://serverFQDN.com:8443/principals/wikis/wdait/ the same "Calendar" is shown. This is great but when you add another calendar through iCal on the client machine that new calendar does not sync or even show up on the web wiki interface.
Or visa versa if the new calendar is created on the wdait wiki calendar (web interface) this does not sync back to show up on the clients iCal.
i have tried creating a new workgroup manager group and a brand new user and a new wiki to match the new group and all on the web interface created 3 calendars and even changed the name of the default calendar from "Calendar" to something like "cal1" then on a fresh client machine with no calendars added in ical I added the new user who had been given rw privileges on that new wiki groups calendar, and when it synced only the first "calendar" showed up with the old name "calendar" and not the new changed name "cal1"
    Any ideas? scratching head.

I am struggling as well with accessing the WIKI calendars using the "https://server:8443/principals/wikis/groupname/". It also takes me to a different calendar.
I have ended up turning off the SSL and going directly to the wiki itself which uses the format of "http://server/principals/__uids__/wiki-E01D65F9-5E68-4642-B540-83F54498ABF5__wik i_guid/".
I found the address by going to going to the "https://server:8443/principals/wikis/groupname/" directly in Safari which then shows you all the different names the calendar uses if i remember correctly.
Suspect that if you try some of the other address' you may be able to use SSL, didn't have enough time to try!

  • How to create a group calendar?

    Hello,
i am sorry but this is one more question on wiki-group-calendars.
    *In short:*
I am not able to create a group calendar with the wiki frontend. the calendar that is created with a wiki is owned by the admin of the wiki. So it is always a personal calendar that cannot be shared in iCal.
    LONG:
I want to create a group calendar that is viewed and edited through iCal.app and the web service. Apple´s "wiki deployment" guide says on page 57:
+"The web calendar allows you to easily schedule events for yourself or your group. ...+
+There are *two types of web calendars: personal and group*. You can send and receive event invitations through the personal calendar but not through the group calendar. Also, *while anyone in a group can create or edit events in a group calendar*, you can edit only events in your own personal calendar or event invitations you send to other people.+
+The web calendar uses iCal Server to store events and invitations. ..."+
But there is not mentioned how to create a group calendar. The calendar created with the wiki web-frontend belongs to the admin of that particular wiki. This is why the calendar data ist stored in folder named with the UUID of the wiki admin. Also the alias "http://server.fqdn:8008/principals/groups/mygroupname/" which i provided in iCal turns into ..._uids_UUID-of-the-wiki-admin and only the wiki-admin can access this calendar in iCal.app.
My research on this topic reveals that there were in issue that should be resolved in 10.6.4 (that is running on our Server). So, again, how to create a group calendar?
    Thanks, Philipp.

You said "you need to go to the wiki page and add the wiki's there...." What is the "wiki page" you mention? Is that some place I go to via the browser or the Server Admin tool?
I went to http://ical.mysite.com/ical/ and logged in as the Directory Administrator but didn't see anything resembling what you described.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

  • Ical disable alarms for group calendars

    hi there,
i have ical clients setup to access group calendars on a 10.6.2 server. is there a way to disable the alarms for wiki/group calendars?
    thanx

    Hi,
Open the calendar list in iCal and select the calendar so the background is blue. Press Cmd-I (or choose Get Info from the Edit menu). A sheet should open with the calendar info, there is an ignore alerts option there.
    Best wishes

  • I have a model 1,1 Mac Book in the black case.  How can I transfer about 30 GB of stuff to a MacBook Pro running Yosemite?  Can't do a Thunderbolt transfer.  The Seagate backup drive I bought doesn't support 10.5.8.  Thank you.

How do I transfer 30 GB of stuff, mostly text documents, bookmarks and a few hundred photos from a MacBook model 1,1 in the black case, purchased in (2007?) running Leopard 10.5.8 with a 667 bus, 2 GB, 256 GB to a MBP 13" Retina running Yosemite 10.10.1?  Using Migrate is out.  Discovered after I bought it that the Seagate Plus Backup for Mac does not work with 10.5.8.  OnetoOne recommends backing up my data before I do that, which seems like a good idea.  Have a 801.11 n Time Capsule that also isn't working so that is not presently an option.  Thank you.

The Seagate backup drive I bought doesn't support 10.5.8
The only reason I can see for that is it's formatted NTFS, which would likely be Read Only in 10.5.x, if you can reformat it MacOS extended, which would erase everything on it now, then that should work for your purposes.

  • Group calendar on wiki doesn't work but individual calendars do.

We have 10.6.3 server running as a OD master and I was looking to use the group calendaring feature of the wiki server. I go to the server using a web browser, sign in, and create a new wiki called "test". I then go into settings for the wiki and enable Calendar as one of the services. I save the settings and get a calendar link at the top of the page for the wiki. When I try to view the calendar I get the message in the middle of the page that says "Getting events from server ..." This never goes away.
When I go to view the calendar for my user, it comes right up. It seems that I have things configured well enough for the web and iCal servers to talk to each other, but something is going wrong with the wiki portion.
Since we are dealing with CalDav I started by using a web browser to diagnose the problem. I go to https://server1.jaxon.private:8443 and I can see that CalDav is working and I get the proper output. I try https://server1.jaxon.privat:8443/principals/users/username and I get all sorts of great info about the user. Finally I try https://server1.jaxon.private:8443/principals/wikis/test and I get an Internal Server Error. It makes sense that the webpage isn't working since the CalDav server isn't happy.
The site access log has the following entries when I try to visit the calendar:
    10.0.1.20 - - [24/May/2010:14:44:48 -0600] "POST //server1.jaxon.private//server1.jaxon.private/RPC2 HTTP/1.0" 404 3754
    10.0.1.20 - - [24/May/2010:14:44:48 -0600] "POST //server1.jaxon.private//server1.jaxon.private/RPC2 HTTP/1.0" 404 3754
    10.0.1.108 - - [24/May/2010:14:44:47 -0600] "PROPFIND /principals/wikis/test/ HTTP/1.1" 500 201
So there are a couple 404 not founds and a 500 Internal Sever error.
I also get entries in the site error log:
[Mon May 24 14:43:04 2010] [error] [client 10.0.1.108] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/collaboration-availability, referer: https://server1.jaxon.private/groups/
[Mon May 24 14:44:48 2010] [error] [client 10.0.1.20] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/server1.jaxon.private
[Mon May 24 14:44:48 2010] [error] [client 10.0.1.20] File does not exist: /Library/WebServer/Documents/server1.jaxon.private
Some additional info about our configuration is below
To start here is the output from changeip -checkhostname
    Primary address = 10.0.1.20
    Current HostName = server1.jaxon.private
    DNS HostName = server1.jaxon.private
The names match. There is nothing to change.
    dirserv:success = "success"
Under the iCal server section I have the Wiki Server listed as server1.jaxon.private with the SSL checkbox checked. Under Authentication I have type set to Any, Host Name as server1.jaxon.private, Port 8008, SSL set to Use, and SSL Port set to 8443.
Under the Web server section I have 1 site enabled with a Host Name of server1.jaxon.private, IP Address of 10.0.1.20, and Port of 443. The Options, Realms, and Logging tabs all have the default values. Under security I have the SSL certificate configured. Under Aliases and Proxy are just the defaults, and Web Services has Wikis, Calendars, and change their password options.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Apple has a command line equivalent to the Server Admin GUI application that conveniently enough is called serveradmin. If you open terminal on your machine and type:
    man serveradmin
You'll get the manual page for the serveradmin command. This will run you through all the different arguments you can use with the command and has some examples of the command usage.
    If you type:
    sudo serveradmin settings calendar
The sudo means super user do. This will temporarily escalate your privileges so you can run the command. It will then ask you for your password to verify your identity. When the command runs you will see all the different settings listed for the calendar service.
To change the value of an item you would do something like the following:
    sudo serveradmin settings calendar:somesetting="new value"

  • Mac Mini Server Doesn't Support Duel Thunderbolt Displays!

I purchased a mac mini server with the intent of ultimately running two thunderbolt displays off of it. I pre-ordered in August, waited six weeks for it to arrive and realized that the mac mini server that I had been sent was a lemon. I applied for a replacement, which was built in China and it arrived two weeks later. Everything was going great - I had my mac mini server running a thunderbolt and I was thrilled! Yesterday however, I purchased my second thunderbolt display, connected it and nothing happened. Trouble shooting didn't help. Finally, I called apple and was told that the server version doesn't support duel thunderbolt displays! I had read all of the technical specifications and there was no mention (at that time) that the server couldn't support duel displays. I am now in the process of returning my mac mini server in exchange for a custom build mac mini with upgraded 2.7 GHz i7 processors and 8GB RAM. I'm really disappointed to have to be going through all of these extra steps just to realize the system that I imagined early on. I checked the Apple Thunderbolt display options page at apple and they have now posted that the server doesn't support duel displays (but that informaiton definitely was not there when I first read it!). Why would the server version not support duel displays? To me, it doesn't make any sense. What are your thoughts?

It doesn't support dual TB displays because it uses the integrated
Intel graphics HD 3000.  Only discrete graphics cards can handle
dual TB displays.  The integrated graphics chip just cant handle
    the load.
As for the logic of it, as servers, they are usually single display
and even more often are run headless and managed remotely.
It is marketed as a server and thus the logic.
