Server App doesn´t recognizes Admin PW anymore

Hi everybody
I recently bought a Mini Server with OSX Lion- and migrated my old Snowleopard Server to it.
After 3 tries and upgrading the old server to Lion as well it kind of "worked"
Last week after a restart the ServerApp doesn´t recognize any admins passwords anymore and therefore leaves me a bit distressed...
Any ideas to where I could find the solution (or what the problem really is)??
Thanks
CF

  • AIR app doesn´t recognize SWF files

    Hi
I have done an AIR app (in Flex). One of the features of it needs external SWF files to be browsed in a text field. Everything has worked very well for couple of years, but now I got a report from a client who uses that app. He says that AIR app doesn´t recognize SWF files anymore. When he clicks browse button, a normal file selection dialog opens but all the SWF files are greyed out.
He send one SWF file to me and it worked well in my computer/AIR app. Anybody have any idea what may cause that? He has used my app a lot, and two weeks ago it worked normally. He uses mac, not sure whis version, quite new I suppose.

    Hi,
That's odd that this just started occurring for the customer.  A couple of things come to mind, first, are you using FileFiters when you call browseForOpen()?  If you are, could you try a test where you remove them and then see if the swf's become enabled?  Do the swf files have extensions on the mac?  If not, try adding them and see if that makes a difference.
If you'd like, I can also give this a try since I have both platforms available to me.  Could you attach or email me ([email protected]) some sample code and a sample swf that would illustrate the problem?
    Thanks,
    Chris

  • HT1238 my computer doesn't recognize my shuffle anymore.

My Mac doesn't recognize my shuffle anymore. when I insert it to be recharge the battery, it does not show up in the devices menu.

What generation iPod Shuffle do you have?  Are you sure the connections are secured on each end?  See here for more information.
iPod shuffle (4th generation): Not seen in iTunes
So if I understand you correctly, the Shuffle used to work with this particular Mac. Do you know what could have or did change since the last time it was able to successfully connect?

  • Aperture doesn't recognize my lens anymore

A couple of weeks ago Aperture suddenly didn't recognize my lens anymore. It has always did before. I use Aperture version 3.2. The lens is Canon EF 135mm f/2L USM, but now it only shows up as "Unknown (174)  135mm". My camera is 5D Mark II. When the lens is mounted, I can go into the camera's menu and read that the camera recognize my lens correctly. So why doesn't Aperture? Is the problem my lens, or is it Aperture?

Thank you! It was good to hear that it was just a software problem and not my lens. I assume that you have already reported to Apple, but I did it too, so I hope it gets corrected soon.

  • Mac pro doesn't recognize admin password

Mac pro doesn't recognize administrator password on login, I am using Yosemite and I was using erlier and didint let me log back in password was correct at all times tries to reset password with apple id and still not working. Try disk utilities with terminal and disk is not available, when I updated from maverick to yosemite I didin't set up a disc recovery.

when I updated from maverick to yosemite I didin't set up a disc recovery.
There is no need to do anything to set up Recovery. It should have been created and updated automatically on your Boot Drive when you upgraded to Yosemite.

  • OS X Mavericks Server.app doesn't show site, but default Welcome to OS X Server page

I am completely new to Mac OS X Server.app, so sorry if I sound dumb .
    1. I installed Server.app to Mavericks.
    2. Enabled Websites service in it.
    3. Installed MySql.
    4. Installed Wordpress using this script: https://github.com/MacMiniVault/Mac-Scripts/blob/master/mmvwordpress/mmvwordpres s-README.md
    5. Created coresponding website to Websites
    6. I opened Safari and navigated to my new created website: http://predstavitev.net:8081 and all I get is server's default page.
    7. I checked what is the content of my "predstavitev.net" folder on server and found that it actually contains Wordpress installation files:
Please help me find out, what am I doing wrong. Thanks.

Check the Console.log for details that might be getting logged there related to this issue.
You're probably using NAT here, which means you'll be using split DNS or using an internal domain and an external domain.  (Confusingly, DNS centrally matters with the web client accessing the web site, and rather less so with the web server itself.)
OS X Server itself requires DNS, irrespective of the web server — usual setup is the local IP network (not in 192.168.0.0/24 nor 192.168.1.0/24 subnets due to collisions with VPN connections later, and preferably somewhere "weird" in the 192.168.0.0/16 or 172.16.0.0/12 or 10.0.0.0/8 private IP blocks — pick a weird range for your subnet, not the first few ones that everybody else uses.
To verify local DNS services, launch Terminal.app from Applications > Utilities and issue the following harmless diagnostic command:
    sudo changeip -checkhostname
That'll require an administrative password, might show a one-time informational message around the use of sudo, and will then display some network information and then an indication that no changes are required, or that there are DNS or network problems.
Do not use .local nor .arpa as your domain.  (That works fine for incidental stuff, but network security and secure connections and related underpinnings all expect the servers involved to have valid DNS — not Bonjour.)
Unfortunate, if DNS is actually incorrectly configured, then various services including the mail server and Open Directory and the profile manager all tend to have problems, and all SSL-based security is dependent on proper DNS configurations.
FWIW, I'd be careful with managing a WordPress server, as breached with that Content Management System (CMS) package are common.  I'd probably either host the site elsewhere (in the "cloud"), or would configure the WordPress web server in a DMZ to isolate the potential damage arising from a breach.   (I use Drupal locally and while breaches with that are somewhat less common than with WordPress, I still lock that down, and still prefer to DMZ that.)  With WordPress or Drupal or any other CMS, keep your patches current, too.

  • My photoshop CS3 doesn't recognize raw files anymore.

I have an iMac G5 with Photoshop CS3 installed on it. I decided to install on this iMac my husband's French version of Adobe Creative Suite Design Premium CS3. It turned my Photoshop CS3 (English) to Photoshop Extended CS3 in French.
I tried reinstalling my Photoshop CS3 in English but to no avail. This brought no change. Photoshop is still in French.
Then I realized, when I use this Photoshop CS3 Extended version in French, that I cannot open raw files on it. It either tells me it doesn't recognize this type of files or it does open it and it looks all grey.
Please, I need help. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much to whomever will rescue me!!

How would I update the camera raw pluggin? Mine is 4.0.
    Thanks!

  • Help!  iPhoto doesn't recognize my camera anymore

My Pentax Optio S4 has worked great for the last couple of years - when I plugged in the USB cable, iPhoto opened and all went well. Now all of a sudden nothing happens, and iPhoto doesn't recognize the camera and neither does Image Capture. Did I inadvertantly DO something, or does anybody know what happened and how to get my seamless importing back?
    iBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

Move the "com.apple.iPhoto.plist" and the "com.apple.ImageCaptureApp.plist" files from your user's "Library >Preferences" folder to the trash and reset the Image Capture preferences to recognize your camera.

  • Mac doesn't recognize external HD anymore. Any help is appreciated.

Hi Everyone. Suddenly, my MAC mini doesn't recognize my external hard drive any more. It was fine for years and today it's not "there".
I tried connecting with different fire wire cables and still, same problem.
I also tried connecting the external HD to my iMac and still, doesn't recognize it.
I tried restarting many times, still, same problem.
I tried disconnecting all cables and power cords, reconnecting them and powering on, and that didn't resolve it.
I have been searching the web all morning for ideas and can't seem to find a solution.
The external HD is a Maxtor III 300 GB. Older one but was big enough for my needs.
I was reading that sometimes doing a software update might cause an issue with external HDs. I just don't know how to resolve that if it is.
This hard drive is formatted for the Mac.
According to Maxtor I do not need to update my drivers. I was thinking that maybe one got lost.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
    Christine

If only the mini couldn't read it, that would lead down one path. However, if both the mini and the iMac can't read it, that sort of points to an issue with the drive. Do you hear the drive power up? If you have an external power supply have you tried that or do you use that with it?
It's possible that the hard drive is in fine condition, and it's the case electronics that are acting up. You should be able to pull the hard drive out of the Maxtor case and put it into another external case, to read the hard drive, assuming the drive itself is OK.

  • No sound anymore - iMac doesn't recognize Firewire HD anymore

    Hi there,
For months I have been using Final Cut Express with my external Firewire HD without any problem. I have been working on several projects and FCE always recognized my HD.
Then a few days ago suddenly my audio meters didn't move anymore: no sound at all! It didn't matter which project I opened, they all remained quiet while the video played. All the other applications on my iMac still generate sound.
Strange thing happened when I changed my settings in Easy Setup. I had sound... until I chose another clip. I tried this several times: always had sound until I selected another clip.
After I closed and restarted FCE I got this message:
    "External A/V
Unable to locate the following external devices: Apple Firewire PAL (720x576)"
I already knew this message from the times that I had forgotten to activate my Firewire HD before starting FCE, but this time my Firewire HD was definitely on.
My System Profiler recognizes the Firewire HD, but whatever I try I still get the same message from FCE.
I trashed my preferences. I reinstalled FCE. All to no avail.
I don't know what to do anymore, please help.
    Thanks in advance!

I figured it out! I already had read the link you mentioned, but when I did read it again after you posted it I began to reflect on third party devices and that lead to the solution.
I have 2 audio interfaces: 1 Emagic A62M and 1 Tascam US-122L. Apparently Final Cut doesn't like the Tascam. You can read more about it here:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=4150185&
I've been using both interfaces for several applications, but I couldn't believe that dead audio meters might be the result of a switch between audio interfaces. Until I stopped being naive and stubborn and just tried going back to the Emagic interface.

  • Mavericks doesn't recognize admin password

After downloading Mavericks 10.9.3, I tried to install the software. I was prompted  to submit my administrator password -- which I did. However, Mavericks maintains that my password is incorrect. I changed the admin password and then attempted to install Mavericks again, but it still doesn't work. Has anyone experienced a similar problem?

OS X Mavericks v10.9.1- Repeated prompts to unlock "Local Items" keychain
    Tutorial: Resolving Keychain Issues
If you can't access your keychain, or forget your password If you can't get into your keychain file because you've forgotten your password or the keychain file appears to be corrupt, there are a couple of options.
First, if you've forgotten your password, you can use the "Keychain First Aid" utility to make the keychain password the same as the login password. This can be accomplished via the following process:
      1. Open Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Preferences"
      3. Click the "First Aid" tab
      4. Make sure the "Synchronize login keychain password" box is checked
      5. Close the Preferences window
      6. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Keychain First Aid"
      7. Enter your username and password
      8. Click the "Repair" button
The second option is to completely delete your keychain then recreate it. This routine is useful if your keychain appears to be corrupt or otherwise inaccessible. This can be accomplished as follows:
      1. Launch Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Click "Show Keychains" in the lower-left corner of the window.
      3. Select the problematic keychain from the left-hand pane.
      4. Navigate to the "File" menu and select "Delete Keychain '(name of keychain)'"
      5. Check all options for deletion and press "OK"
      6. Create a new keychain by going to the "File" menu, then "New" and selecting
          "New Keychain"
      7. You can now make this keychain your default if you desire by selecting it, then
going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make '(name of keychain)' Default"
Login as root and perform repair In some cases, problems with keychains can only be resolved when logged in as the root user.
First, you want to enable the root user:
      1. OS X Mountain Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      2. OS X Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      3. Mac OS X 10.6: Enabling the root user
      4. Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
After enabling the root user, and logging in under this account, again open Keychain Access. First attempt repairs using Keychain First Aid, and failing that, delete then recreate the keychain as described above while logged in as root.
Persistently asked for stored passwords If you are persistently asked for passwords in various applications that you have specified should be remembered in a keychain, your "login" keychain may not be active for one reason or another.
Navigate to ~/Library/Keychains/ (this is the Library folder inside your user's home folder). Find the file named "login.keychain" and double-click it.
Failing that, select the "login" keychain within the Keychain Access application and make sure it is the default keychain by going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make 'Login' Default"
Turn off Keychain synchronization in applications having problems If specific applications are experiencing issues when accessing password-protected material, the Keychain may be to blame.

  • ISangean App doesn't recognize the radio from my iPod Touch 5

Why can't I get the iSangean App to recognize my Sangean WFR-28 radio?  The same app on my Samsung Note 8, had no problems, so I think it's a iPod issue.  Any experience with this and/or a solution?

I have never previously seen a post concerning the Sangean WFR-28 radio   in this forum.
Have you went to Sangean WFR-28 radio's site?
You can try the standared iPod fixes:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

I too am going grey over night with this iShuffle thing....it works fine on other Macs in the house; some on Panther and some on Tiger. I plug into an iMac 500 MHz 10.3.9 and it won't mount...green light flashes rapidly. Only this machine.
Last night I tried Apple's lame Chat help service. Both guys were helpful until they realized what my issue was then they simple ignored me.
