Server app : random errors in configuration applied with configuration profile

When I verify the informations contained in the user configuration profile with both the profile manager and textmate everything is ok. When i installs the configuration profile on a computer there are errors in the configuration of Mail app the email address is configured as follows: [email protected] instead of: [email protected] and username is: [email protected] instead of : user1 . Both server and client computers are on running mac os x 10.8.

I am unable to open any of the java tools (config tool, Visual admin tool, NWA) and even web channel.
when i try to connect to DB through Config tool, I get the error as

After restarting the server it works but the next day the same problem appears.

Thanks for the reply..
uninstalling antivirus server it is working fine, I think antivirus is stopping that server service.
But with antivirus same problem appears every day. should i edit bootstrap.properties and change the location of the libraries from
xx\sapmnt\J2E\SYS\global\security\lib\tools to C:\usr\sap\J2E\SYS\global\security\lib.

What is the version of the database?
Is your database full?

Please run the following commands on the database server & update with outputs:
        sdbregview -l
        xinstinfo <DB-name>
        x_cons <DB-name> show active
       dbmcli -d <DB-name> -u control,<pwd> db_state
      dbmcli -d <DB-name> -u control,<pwd> param_getvolsall
Check errors/warnings in the knldiag file.
Please check jvm_bootstrap.out.
Check the System.log at /usr/sap/.../<..>/j2ee/configtool/system.log

CRITICAL: Error occured while working with configuring .in WAS deploytool

Hi,
I have installed developer workspace WAS edition SP11.
I had given a master password to all the users created while installation.
But now for deployement and visual administration that password is not working.
So i started deploytool to enable Superadmin.
It allows me to change the value but when i save it,
it throws error stating:
<b>"CRITICAL : Error occured while working with configuration"</b>
and then deploytool stops abruptly.
Unless I enable superadmin, i wont be able to reset all my passwords.
How do i proceed??

Time Machine Service Page in Server App says "Error Reading Settings"

I have a Mac Mini running 10.8.3.
For some reason the Time Machine Page in the Server App refuses to work properly. If I reboot the server it looks fine for about 10 minutes. It displays the backup location and the list of individual backups. Then I get this message:

Android AIR App Random Error #2032: Stream Error (HTTPStatusEvent = 0)

I am investigating an issue with failed requests and it's been difficult to narrow it down. When I put the URL into a browser I get a valid / expected response. However when I try to access the same URL using Actionscript 3 on my Android Devices (Nexus S and Xoom), I get stream error #2032 at random.
I am using URLRequest with a custom RequestListener class:

Since it works on one router but not the other, I can't say that it's an issue with the app, phone, or our request URL.
Note that I am using SSL / https.

Configure WSUS with Configuration Manager 2012 R2

We configured WSUS to be integrated with SCCM 2012 R2.
WSUS is on a different server than SCCM 2012 R2, and we have the site server role SUP installed on this server.
Both servers are Server 2012 R2.
We are doing Software updates, and I have some basic questions.
I can see from the logs that it downloaded all the updates, but where are they stored in SCCM, and how do I know they are there.

Well, that's a tough one to put in words correctly and completely.
Basically, it doesn't affect the built-in processes and they are still fully enabled. A few key points:
- The ConfigMgr agent does set a local group policy pointing each client's WUA at the WSUS instance underlying the SUP.
- The WSUS instance, once integrated into ConfigMgr is only responsible for the update catalog (and update EULAs) including downloading it from Microsoft and making it available to clients. Technically, that WSUS instance could still be used to approve
and deploy updates directly, but its not supported to do so and could cause side effects; thus the warning above in my post not to do this.
- Updates are downloaded by ConfigMgr and clients retrieve them using standard ConfigMgr content handling.
- The WUA, which is still alive and kicking, performs actions like scanning for applicable updates and installing updates at the direction of the ConfigMgr client. If not disabled (see blog posts below), the WUA will carry on its merry way and similar to
the WSUS situation above, could technically do things on its own but because nothing has been approved in the WSUS instance its pointing to, it doesn't do much except what the ConfigMgr client tells it to do -- there actually is reason to disable it though
(see blog posts listed blew for more info on that).

Server.app: Users button ( + / -) are disabled of a replica server

Hi everybody,
After upgrade the server to 10.9.5 and server app 3.2.1 version, it has been crashing during the importation of users into server app using a text file. At the beginning everything was ok with a text file where there were only one user, but when I tried to do the same thing with all users file, the progress bar was freeze and just after reopen server app the buttons + and - were disabled. We have 1 master than 5 replicas servers working with the same OS X and server app version and this particular issue is only here. There is a similar postBug: Manage +/- buttons "Users" and "Users' Groups" disabled in server.app but this issue coming back again after the first importation (It doesn't matter if you are using a text file with 5, 20 o 100 users).
Moreover, if I set it up as a master, everything is right so I was wondering if this new server app version cause this issue or if it is related to mavericks itself because we upgraded all servers two month ago.

This is a copy from Slapconfig.log. This start creating a replica and finish when it is destroyed. Between 21:39:39 ans 22:20:49 the server app crashed and nothing is reported with this service, after that, I destroyed the replica. The only problem that I see, is in times of each register, the real time was already 16:00 aprox. but It show 21:33 aprox, I don't now why and the others files are correct in time.

Configuration issue with SP 2013 and SSRS 2012

I have installed sql server 2013, SP 2013 and PS 2013 in same server. Getting error when i try to configure
Reporting services Integration
and path is Central admin -> General application settings --> Reporting services Integration -->
provided url for Report Server Web Service URL (copied url from Report manager URL in Reporting services configuration manage and verified URL working fine)

Hi Santosh,
I think the Reporting Services integration works with SQL Server 2008/2008 R2. When the SQL Server 2012 is installed, there is an option to install Reporting Services - SharePoint bits. Details can be found here:

Once the Reporting Services components have been installed you should be able to configure the SQL Server Reporting Service Application and use the Reporting Services content types in your SharePoint libraries

I am unable to access internet when server app is running on mac mini

I recently installed the server app on a mac mini. With the app open, I am unable to connect to web pages through the mac mini. I do not have this connection problem with the server app closed. While I can see my IP address I am also not able to connect to the server. Would love some advice how what I am doign wrong with the setup.
My ISP is a DSL through century link, the mac mini is hooked to a cisco E4200 v2 wireless router.

You'll need to go through the configuration of the server, sounds like something is off.

10.8: Setting cert server uses for remote Server.app

Setting up a 10.8 server from scratch.
I have a properly-obtained trusted cert, valid for more than one year, which is successfully installed on the server and appears in the cert pane in Server.app. In the pane in Server.app the server is set to use it for everything.
I am trying to connect to Server.app on my server from a 10.8 client. When I connect to it I'm told the server is untrustworthy and shown a self-signed root cert valid for one year. I don't want the server to use this self-signed cert for that, I want it to use my trustworthy cert. But I can't see where to change this setting.

Should anyone care, apparently if files like 0000_any_443_.conf are manually edited in any way Server.app punts the football & gives up with the above error. Seems like a hyper-sensitive hard-coded parser.
FWIW, I had only added 1 line defining the param ServerName since I was seeing errors like this in the log:
[warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN) `secure.mycompany.com' does NOT match server name!?
Defining ServerName squelched this warning but causes Server.app to pout.

Server App showing hidden users?

Hi,
I am a little familiar with 10.8 sever, have it running on a few machines, but i'm still a novice so go easy please.
I loaded up my server app today and I was greeted with this massive list of what I presume to be hidden users, not sure why they are appearing and how to turn that off? The pictures explain better what the issue is.

Sometimes the solution is right in front of you but you just don't see it. It was very easy to solve:
Select the "Users" tab in the Server.app and then from the toplevel menubar select View -> Hide System Accounts
That's it!! (Must have accidentally selected it without noticing ......)
Decided to put it in this thread as well in case somobody else (or you) might stumble across this problem as well.

Is there a way to have separate permissions between Server app and Profile manager?

I'm running OS X 10.10.1 (Yosemite) with Server app 4.0 installed.
I am a System Administrator for a University. I want to give our college techs the ability to manage Profile Manager, but if I grant them Admin rights on the Apple server they will also have access to the Server app, if they have the server app installed on their computer.
Is there a way to limit access to the Server app, but allow certain individuals admin right to Profile Manager?

Mac Mini Server and Server.app

I purchased a Mac Mini with Server last year. I have placed it in a closet as my home server. I would like to be able to open Server.app from my Laptop connected on the same network. I have tried to take the "Server.app" from the Applications folder on the Mac Mini and transferred it to the Applications folder on my laptop. The OSX version that I am running on my Mac Mini server is 10.7.5. The OSX version that I am attempting to run the Server.app from is 10.9. When I try to launch the Server.app from my laptop (running 10.9) I get a message that says: "You can't use this version of the application "Server.app" with this version of OS X. You have "Server.app" 1.5.0".
Is this possible? Do I have to pay in the app store to download Server.app even though it came bundled with my Mac Mini?

It is standard in the software industry to have to pay for software upgrades. While Apple have chosen to make the Mavericks (10.9) upgrade free, the matching Server.app upgrade is not free.
You are not forced to upgrade to Mavericks, you can if you wish continue to use Lion (10.7) and its matching Server.app version. What you do need to do is use matching versions.
It should be noted that the 'full' cost of Server.app at only $19 is ludicrously cheap - far cheaper than the upgrade cost of most software.
In terms of using Server.app on your Mavericks laptop to administer your Lion server and the fact you can't run the Lion server version on your laptop, it is possible to use the Mavericks version of Server.app on your laptop to administer a Lion or Mountain Lion version of Server.app. Therefore you could buy the new Server.app for your laptop, leave your server still on Lion and use the new version to administer your server.
Or as coocooforcocoapuffs said you can use Screen Sharing or ARD to remote control your server and use Server.app on your server for administration.

Configuring OS X Server 3.1.2 : server.app fails with "Could Not Connect to the Server"
