Server Based MTP on non Cisco Hardware?

I've read that you can have a software based MTP on a "NT Server." Is this a supported configuration on non-Cisco hardware? If so, what is the best way to install it?
Thanks!

MTP Would only work with CM installed on the box . You cannot run S/W based MTP without installing CallManager on the server.

  • Installing IPCC on a non Cisco Hardware: The registry

    Hi All;
If I need to install the IPCCE on a non Cisco harware (HP or IBM server), I heared that there is a registry file need to be run that will modify the registry to allow the IPCCE software to be installed on the hardware.
Can anyone advise for this file?
    Any help?

VMWare allows you to create a virtual Linux box abstracted from the underlying host and you can then insert the CUCM installation DVD and it will install. The host can be running a range of operating systems - I have used Windows XP, Windows 2003 Server and VMWare's own operating system on an ESX server.
The installer knows it's a VMWare abstraction and does not do the normal hardware checks. The process could not be any easier.
There are many blogs out there with movies that guide you through the process of installing. Try this URL and watch the video.

Since I just helped a colleague install CUCM 7.x on an ESX 3.5 server today and I found this simple guide to the post-install steps, with a movie you can watch, I'll provide the URL.

  • Cisco QM/Calabrio - server based recording - how many NICs?

I'm looking to replace a Verint system that is doing server-based recording with Call Mgr 4.1.3. We are going to upgrade to 7.1.x soon.
My customer is a CCX CAD/Citrix environment. I see that QM/Calabrio also supports server-based recording.
We have a number of subnets that we need to SPAN. I have a couple of questions:
    1) How many recording NICs can be in one QM recording server? Verint can do 4 plus a management NIC.
    2) How many recording servers can be supported? We also have a remote WAN location that needs a recording server.
    3) Does QM require an MCS server to run, or will it install on general server hardware (we are an IBM shop and have the servers.)
    Thanks.

Questions about Cisco Call recording and Quality Management or Workforce management should be posted
under the Contact Center Applications at https://www.myciscocommunity.com/community/partner/collaboration/contactcenter/apps
I am checking some of the details for question 1 & 2  and will respond to your questions in a few hours
for 3 The QM application can be deployed on MCS or MCS equivelent servers as determined by the partner/customer

  • Web Server Filter Based SSO to Non-SAP Apps

    Hi,
I am following SAP Note 442401 for configuring the Non-SAP App for Web Server Filter based SSO using SAP Logon Ticket. Also, I have downloaded the 5_0_2_8.zip file.
The Readme doc of this zip file says:
"<b>Changes in Web server filter plugins
The Web server filter plug ins and the Ticket Toolkit now were separated.
    See subdirectories for further information:
    "C"          the Ticket Toolkit
"filter"     the Web server filter plug ins
This is the last released version (5.0.2.8) on SAPSERV.
Pleaser refer for newer versions to SAP Service Marketplace (http://service.sap.com/patches)
    Technology Components-> SAP SSOEXT -> SAP SSOEXT</b>"
Zip file has two folders named "C" and "filter".
"C" folder has cpp code to varify the ticket.
"Filter" folder has DLLs for the different web servers.
So far so good . Now, what I want to know is that is placing the  DLL from the Filter folder onto the respective web server and doing some configs, as per the PDF provided with ZIP file, enough?
Or do I need to do anything else, like writing any class to read and validate the Ticket?
    Thanks,
    Vivek

  • Non Server Based Html Help

I am using the following call which works perfectly well for
    server based HTML help:
    RH_ShowHelp( pWnd->m_hWnd, pDoc->m_sHelpPath,
    HH_DISPLAY_TOPIC, 0 )
    where pDoc->m_sHelpPath equals
    http://localhost/Help/HelpStart.htm.
However I cannot get this code to work for non-server based
    help despite my best efforts
    i.e. where pDoc->m_sHelpPath equals
    C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Help\HelpStart.htm.
    Can anybody offer an explanation?

To create, you would need a copy of Acrobat pro which comes with designer, which allows you to hide show subforms. See designer forum for more info.
You can also use the form fields in acrobat perhaps based on page templates.
The only reason to get a server product with this would be to enable end users of the form to save the pdf using the Free reader. if this is not a requirement (PDF is submitted to a webserver, or simply printed) not sever would be required.

  • Non cisco/Third party phones are compatible with CCX 9 or not?

    Dear Guys,
I have a CCX 9 server integrated with CUCM 9 and also non cisco based/Third party phones (SNOM IP Phones) as agent for CCX server. when i try to log in to CAD software with User ID and password that assigned to SNOM phone  i got JTAPI error but with CIPC(Cisco IP Communicator) works fine and i could log on without any issue. i checked RMuser controlled device and also allow controlled CTI port, all configured. i checked all documents about this issue but it is not mentioned anything about SNOM phone used as agent. any idea for that? any documents for compatibility list between CCX and agent platform...

  • WLC in a non-Cisco network

I'm planning to use a Cisco WLC 5508 in a non-Cisco core network (switch and routers) and I'm wondering about the problems I can have.
For the moment, I can only think that I can't have CDP (Cisco Discovery Protocol) in the new core network (access switchs are cisco).
So, do you need CDP to run a Cisco Controller Based WLAN?
Maybe for Rogue Switchport tracing? Anything else?
Can I use a WLC connected to a non-Cisco core network?
    More trouble?
    Thanks

Cisco wlc's do not use LACP, LAG is non-negotiated, just on. 5508 also require 1g ports, it will not connect to anything less than this.
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/docs/wireless/controller/7.0MR1/configuration/guide/cg_ports_interfaces.html#wp1182892
As for LWAPP/CAPWAP, you will need to make sure that if yo uare going through a firewall that UDP ports 12222/12223 for LWAPP and UDP port 5246/5247 are not blocked. You can use option43 on your DHCP server for the APs to find the controller.

    OR
DNS discovery—The access point can discover  controllers through your domain name server (DNS). For the access point  to do so, you must configure your DNS to return controller IP addresses  in response to CISCO-LWAPP-CONTROLLER.localdomain or CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER.localdomain, where localdomain
is the access point domain name. When an access point receives an IP  address and DNS information from a DHCP server, it contacts the DNS to  resolve CISCO-LWAPP-CONTROLLER.localdomain or CISCO-CAPWAP-CONTROLLER.localdomain

  • Server side tracking on non-OSX server

Does anyone aware of attempts of reproducing server side tracking on non-MacOSX server platform?
Our primary storage is based on opensolaris + zfs, giving us a lot of advantages. But synchronization of mobile users always takes some serious amount of time.
Obviously re-exporting home directories through OSX server doesn't change something, because server side tracking requires filesystem to be local on server.
I can guess that protocol should be relatively simple and doable on other unixes (as soon you get some way to track filesystem changes).

while part of it may be technically feasible, i've never seen or heard anything about implementing server side tracking on a non-os x server. at the very least, the server runs sshd on an alternate port for client communication. beyond that, i don't know what magic is involved.
in practice, i haven't seen it work reliably on os x server, though i haven't done any testing with this enabled on 10.6 server yet. it may not be worth pursuing.

So what is the solution for this scenario?
remote site has non-cisco autonomous wireless AP. NAC is centralized. I can not use OOB since there is no support for non-cisco AP in OOB mode. As a result I use InBand mode. This means that local wireless trffic in remote site must travel to central site, go through NAC Server and go back to remote site. Is this correct?

  • Interconnecting cisco switches with non-cisco switches

I need help concerning interconnecting two Cisco switches (3550’s) using a non-Cisco switch or hub on the LAN. I have noticed that the two Cisco switches connected using a non-Cisco switch are able to communicate well, however a PC connected to the non-Cisco switch/hub can not ping any device on the LAN. The non-Cisco device is a working one. When the two Cisco switches are connected using a Cisco switch, PCs connected to the interconnecting switch are able to ping. What’s the explanation? Please help.

  • UCCX 7 server based monitoring doc

    Hi there,
I am looking to setup server base recoding with RSPAN. The only documentation that i could find relating to this is:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a00801a62a8.shtml
This is for CRS and CM verstion 3.
Is there any more up to date documenation? or is this still valid?
Is there any other documentations relating to server base recoding with RSPAN?
    Thanks for any help?
    alexis

    Hi Alexis,
The design of server-based monitoring in UCCX 7.0 hasn't changed much since 3.x.  The configuration on UCCX is fairly straightforward.  You'll want to make sure that desktop monitoring is unchecked for the agent phones in Cisco Desktop Administrator, and you'll want to make sure that the Post-Install tool (C:\Program Files\cisco\desktop\bin\PostInstall.exe) has the 2nd NIC of the server selected for Monitoring/Recording.
What is important for the SPAN setup is that when the RTP packets reach the second NIC of the server (Connected to SPAN destination port) that the MAC address of the phone remains intact).  The monitoring/recording service in 7.0 filters the packets by MAC address to determine which RTP packets are part of the conversation.  Layer 3 devices can change this MAC address as the packet is routed, so it's important the SPAN configuration picks up the traffic directly from the phone and relays it to the server's second NIC intact.
    Thanks,
    Brendan

  • Yet another PEAP question...non-Cisco cards...

So, we are about to embark on building a wireless network infrastructure using 1220 AP's. So far all wireless clients use Cisco cards and Win2k.
People are interested in all sorts of wireless devices now, some including built in wireless nics or no pci or pcmcia card slots.
We have ACS 3.1.1. Can we use PEAP in our situation with a client using say a Compaq tablet PC with an integrated NIC? Or, how about a desktop PC running Win2k using something other than a Cisco card? If so, what are the required pieces? PEAP supplicants? etc?
    Thanks!

    Hi ,
    In short answer is
    a) If ACS supports eap-chap ( which microsoft supports ) , you can use
non cisco card with microsoft supplicant and will work fine
I believe acs 3.2 will support is , I am not sure on acs3.1.1
    b) You can buy 3rd party supplicant like meeting house etc and can use
    non cisco card
    http://www.cisco.com/warp/public/779/smbiz/wireless/wlan_security.shtml
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/wireless/ps458/prod_bulletin09186a0080100194.html
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/hw/wireless/ps430/products_qanda_item09186a008010018c.shtml
PEAP is hybrid process ( combination of leap and eap tls )
To download server side certificate on ACS you can use eap tls doc.
Depending on AP use either of following doc
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/wireless/airo_350/accsspts/ap350scg/ap350ch8.htm
    http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/wireless/airo1100/accsspts/i1224ja/i1224icg/ivicgaut.htm
You have to careful while selecting the client supplicant , you can choose Cisco peap supplicant or Microsoft peap supplicant
You can have Microsoft peap supplicant or Cisco Peap supplicant .
If you have windows 2000 OS , than if you load service pack3 , Microsoft peap supplicant is installed . On top of this if you install ACU 5.05 microsoft supplicant wil be overwritten by Cisco supplicant .
In case of XP , if you install service pack 1 , it will install microsoft peap supplicant , if you install ACU 5.05 it will be overwriteen by Cisco Peap supplicant .
Microsoft peap supplicant send eap-Chap in EAP tunnel and Cisco support EAP-GTC in eap tunnel .
with non cisco card it depends on which radius server and database you are running .
At present ACS 3.1 supports EAP-GTC so it will not interoperate with Microsoft supllicant . In later release ACS will have support for EAP-Chap so
that you can use 3rd party card with Microsoft supplicant and ACS3.2
