Server/browser requirements for WebHelp output files

What are the UNIX server and browser requirements in order to
display a WebHelp project output file correctly?
When I generate the primary layout, I am not selecting 508
format, and I select Java Applet as the preferred method for the
Navigation Pane (checking the radio button for DHTML > Java
Applet > Pure HTML as the order of preference.
When viewing the help project on the UNIX server through
Mozilla, the page appears to load and reload, load and reload.
Sometims pressing Esc. stops it and you can view the TOC and
content pane. The way around this is to generate Pure HTML only,
but then the index and the glossary become very difficult to use.
Robohelp Webhelp descriptions claim to work on all platforms
and in all browser types. What requirement are we missing on our
UNIX server so the project can display correctly?

Generate Webhelp output setup:
Use lowercase filenames (recomm. for UNIX)
Toolbar buttons: Content, Index, Search
Navigation: Add breadcrumbs links
Additional options: Enable Highlight Search results, Synchronize TOC automatically
Navigation Pane preferred format: DHTML > Java Applet > Pure HTML
Optimize speed for: Web site
Q: how are you setting up your Linux to open the default project page?
A: I use Linux only to launch the webehelp output.
Q: Are you opening the GENERATED project default page or trying to open the project source files?
A: I am trying to open the generated project default page. I copy the Webhelp folder to a Linux machine and launch the index.html page to see the output.
Q: Why are you replacing the foreward-backward slash?
A: In Linux '\' is not supported for hyperlinks/filepaths. Therefore I changed the backward slashes to forward slashes.
The scenario:
When the project files have filepath such as ../../doc/xyz/,
when I view in Windows (IE)- I can access the link
when I view in Linux (FF)- I see broken link with error message somewhat like "cannot find ..\..\doc\xyz\". (Note the changed usage of slash)
This indicates that the generated files changes the forward slash to backward.

You can trigger the output type by creating a condition record.
Go to transaction VV21, enter the output type, click on Key combination, if ther's a radiobutto for shipping point only, select it and create a condition.
If ther's no radio button for shipping point, add table 024 to the access sequence assigned to the output type in NACE.
After modifying the access seq. go back to VV21 and create a condition.
You can create condition records in NACE also.

I create a Captivate from and upload it to our LMS. When employees access the course it takes a long time for it to load. My IT department is asking what is the minimum browser requirements for Captivate 5? Specifically Flash and Java. This is occuring on PC's and a Citrix environment.

There is nothing in specific. When you say it takes a long time, do you mean on the LMS or locally as well?
Try updaing the Flash Player.

Does it have widgets or heavier graphics?

WebHelp Output files distribution and deployment regarding

Hi,
I am just starting to try, learn RH7 to generate WebHelp.
I successfully did a very simple and basic test project and
our developer displayed the topic help on pressing F1.
Good.
Our application is a backoffice payment system. Currently the
application is deployed on the Application Server which is
Macromedia JRUN 4 with the OS - MS Windows 2003 std edition SP1.
My compnay is planning for the following:
The application shall be deployed on the Application Server
Weblogic 10x on a UNIX box (could be IBX AIX/HP UX).
The application is bundled as .WAR.
Could you please clarify this for us?
- Should the WebHelp output folder be bundled along with the
above .WAR?
- Can the Help files reside on Application server or the Web
Server (only the Help not the application) and
can still work effectively? (We prefer the Help to be on the
App Server tho')

Hi Radha.
Don't get confused between the generated and the published
output. The published output is the actual output required to be
placed where your users will access it. The location is defined in
the final part of the WebHelp single source layout. The help can
reside just about anywhere. You may want to check out our resident
WebHelp juru Peter Grainge's

which has all the options on calling webhelp plus all manner of
other stuff.

Greetings,
I am in the process of creating Webhelp for an application
that will run in a browser. I am used to dealing with a single
compressed .chm file rather than a folder of files.
Because the help files will also be residing in the actual
product, we have a really need to limit the size of the output
files for storage reasons. Any hints or ideas? Thanks in

Sorry, but you will waste more time figuring out how to pare
things down than you will just copying the files to where they
should be.
I'm not sure of any product that keeps things in a single
file and is intended for web use. Hopefully others have a
suggestion.

Fix for WebHelp output issues with IE 11 breaks Search function

I use RoboHelp HTML 9 and have been having issues with generated WebHelp in IE 11. The TOC was totally blank and the Search tab looked fine but did not function. Everything worked fine in Firefox. After much experimenting and online research in these forums and elsewhere, I have been able to get the TOC to display properly in IE 11 (and Firefox) but the fix has caused the Search tab to stop functioning as per this other forum post RH9 Webhelp Search function is not working properly.
I need to have BOTH TOC and Search displayed and functioning properly but in order to get the TOC displayed properly I had to change the Preferred Format setting to "Pure HTML" and, according to the post mentioned above, that is what messes up the Search function. Is there a solution that will allow both TOC and Search to function properly?
Here is a summary of the steps I have taken to get to this point:
Tested WebHelp output from two different projects of my own as well as the Salesbuilder starter project - all would display/function properly in Firefox but not in IE 11 (blank TOC and non-functioning Search).
Found a "patch" for RH10 for the exact problem I was having with RH9 but was not able to find a version for RH9. Since the patch included 2 files (whutils.js and whver.js) only, I backed up these files in the RoboHTML\WebHelp5Ext\template_stock directory and replaced them with the new ones.
Regenerated one of my RoboHelp projects - still didn't work in IE 11 and now didn't work in Firefox either!
Tried turning on Mark of the Web but this did not help and would not allow opening PDF's which is necessary to one of the projects so I turned it off again.
Changed Preferred Format setting to "Pure HTML" instead of "DHTML" and the TOC displayed and functioned properly in IE 11 and Firefox! Hurray!!
Celebrated for 10 seconds until I clicked on Search tab and saw the input box filled with letters of the alphabet with other random letters, words, numbers below. It looks almost like an index but neither of my projects uses an index and I have not generated one in either project.
Found the post mentioned above which states that the solution is to change the Preferred Format setting back to DHTML but when I do that I am back to blank TOC and proper-looking but non-functioning Search!!!
I have now removed the Search tab from the output of one of the projects since it is not really necessary but I need to find a fix for this for my other project.
Both of my projects are run locally - one is release documentation that is distributed on a CD and the other is CSH which is loaded on the local server with the software for which it was created.

The "preliminary" fix provided has worked perfectly! All versions of my WebHelp project now display TOC properly and I was able to change the Preferred Format setting back to DHTML so the Search tab both displays and functions as it should. I am very grateful to William for providing this fix which works in both IE 11 and Firefox. Someday I will pursue the fixes to make it work in Chrome as well.

Server space requirement for BW

Using Custom XSLT File for html output file

Hi all
I have probably rather a silly question but I have not found a solution yet.
I would like to use a custom XSLT file, which I already have and is working, within a Biztalk Map. The custom XSLT is generating a html file out of an xml file. However I'm not able to succeed so far because I have probably some issues in defining the correct
target schema.
The output that I get at the moment is just a duplicate of the input, probably because I have used the schema for source and target.
So my question is, how do I create a html file out of an xml with a custom XSLT file?
Sorry if this is a nooby question but I couldn't find an answer.

its generating a HTML file? Are you using something like this?

If your requirement is to output the html file from the received XML file using XSLT, then use a custom pipeline at send port like XSLT Transform Component and provide the XST which would change the XML to HTML. Here is an example of an XST which I have
used in the past, which converts the received OrderResponse XML to nicely formatted HTML.

How to set PDF version for the output file in ES4

I am using LiveCycle ES4 for converting word docs to PDF. In our client we invoke createPDF method of GeneratePdfServiceClient class. We are using a custom PDF setting in LiveCycle in which we have defined configuration as per the business requirement.
We need the PDF version of the document to be set to 1.4. For this, we are setting the value for compatibility (under File Option) to Acrobat 5 (PDF 1.4) in custom PDF setting template in LiveCycle adminui and in Acrobat preferences. Both these setting are not working and the resulting document has PDF version set to PDF1.5. Can you tell me how the version of resulting document be set to 1.4??

But I don't know why it doesn't work:(
I followed these steps:
1. open workbook and select a value for the variable used in query
2.click personalized variable and new window pop up then I select the value I chose and added to the selection.
3.click ok and quit
4.save workbook
but next time I open this workbook, the variable selection window still pop up.

Browser Requirements for Web Auth

My configuration is 2 4404 WLCs, version 4.2.130.0, with WCS version 4.2.97.0. We have a guest WLAN set up to do Web Auth to a TACACS server and the local WCS database. I am trying to find a document for this version of WCS that gives minimum browser versions for IE, firefox, netscape, safari, etc. If anyone can point me to this information I would appreciate it.

I found my own answer.
Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 or higher is the only browser supported for accessing the controller GUI and for using web authentication.

While i am sending the values to BAPI, it is taking top row as header data remaining all rows as line items(it is not going to read next header line, but it is taking remaining line items which are exist in other header lines )..!
Note: Even through key field i am trying to call header line items, but it wont call!still calling all line items with top header line.

Its like i am taking flat file whcih contains various headers and line items(One header with line items called->One record). So each header I need to call BAPI simultanousely.

User defined Function Required for EDI 850 file fields.

Hi Guys,
I have an requirement where i need to check two fields in incoming EDI 850 file, based on those fields data should be populated to target side fields IDOC(ORDERS05).
here is the requirement
If Field.01 = "001" and field.02 exist then

Here Field01 and Field 02 are sender side fields.we need to check this two fields . I Know this can be created with graphical mapping but as per requirement i need to write UDF bcoz with graphical mapping this would be more complex.
so can any one please provide me UDF for this.

Sql Server configuration requirements for SAP ECC 6.0

Dear All,
I am using Sql server 2005 Enterprise as data store for Sap ecc 6.0.There are certain configuration requirements to be done while installing it so that sapinst.exe (sap installer) is able to use it to create its own DB's.
For eg it requires a collation of SQL_Latin1_General_CP850_BIN2 whereas the default that gets installed is SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS.
Like this there are other requirements which I am not aware of.Most of the docs available on the Internet are talking of ecc 6.0 with Oracle 10.2G which is the most common combination.I am having docs for this combination.
I am installing ecc for the first time.
*I am unable to download docs from sap. marketplace as it requires a login given to certified users or sap purchasers.I am neither.*
Can anyone help me with this.If anyone has ECC 6.0 installation guide with sql server it will be serve my purpose.

Do u understand what is legal or illegal? Have u read the license in full?
The license does not put any limit on the number of users.So if I am using it means that one more user has been added by the license holder.
Therefore there is nothing illegal about it.
It would have unethical (not illegal) if the software is being used for a business purpose other than for which it has been purchased.
Since it being used for training purpose the above does not hold good.
In fact it is SAP who is benefited in the long run bec' after a person learns it technology because he is going to implement it somewhere, for which the concerned user will have to purchase a license.Therefore I am helping SAP to increase its business.
But there are some stupid people who don't understand these things but are ready to shout at the top of their voice thinking themselves to be intelligent.

Running chgrp for SAP Output Files

Hi All,
Have a situation I need some help with please.
We are integrating our SAP system with another application. As part of the process, the SAP system outputs a file to the OS. By default, this file is created with user SIDadm and group sapsys. The external user, however, is not part of the sapsys group, so therefore has no access. chmod 777 on the files nor adding the external user to sapsys are options.
I need to know if anyone knows how to run the chgrp command on the files created by SIDadm so the external user can grab them. Thanks!!!!

Thanks guys. Issue resolved with a combination of running 'site umask 022' command when the file is sent to SAP, and now have a scheduled job that runs a chgrp -R appint <filepath> every 5 minites. It's not 100%, but it changes the group assignments correctly for the files, which is what we needed.
