Server busy message

Everytime I turn on my computer, I get a little message saying that my "server is busy", with an option to "switch to..." and "retry". If I click "Switch to", the message goes away. Although this is only a small issue, it is recurring and I think it may be causing other problems with my broadband.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hello wyeowye and welcome to the Forums,
It's slightly outside the scope of these forums as this isn't a BT Broadband related problem, but hey ho. First things first,  have you got Anti-virus protection and run a full scan recently? If you haven't I suggest you download one of the following, but not both
BT provide Netprotect plus:
http://www.bt.com/netprotectplus
Microsoft provide Microsoft Security essentials:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/security_essentials/default.aspx
If you are running Anti-virus and know you are clean, then have a look in Startu:
(Click in the bottom left on the start button-> Programs-> Startup). Make sure you recognise everything in there. If not get rid.
You need to look at the other programs or services which are running on startup as something isn't right. There is a good Free program called CCleaner which is available from:
http://www.piriform.com/
Install it, (taking care not to install the Google "freebies" along the way), start it up and then click on the Tools-> Startup Tab. Here you can disable/enable Startup processes. Some of the things will be obvious, some not so.  I suggest you have a play, which may involve many reboots until you disable the rogue process.
I am not affilianted with any of the organisations which I have provided links to. Hope this helps,

  • Dreamweaver CS4 - Server Busy Problem

    I purchased Adobe Suite CS4
several years ago, received a serial number, and successfully installed
    all of the Adobe programs.
All of a sudden, when I click the
    Dreamweaver CS4 shortcut, the
Dreamweaver background appears, with a "Server Busy" box, with the
    error message "action cannot be
    completed because the other
    program is busy,
    choose Switch or Retry".  Retry
doesn't do anything, and "Switch To"displays the start menu.
I switched to Dreamweaver CS4 from the
all programs list, and Dreamweaver appears
without the "Server Busy" message, but then it reappears when
I attempt to set the site root folder.
I notice that there are two
Dreamweaver buttons at the bottom task bar (and that there are two
Dreamweaver programs in the task manager), but neither button functions
when I click on each one to try to close it.  Deleting one or the other
from the task bar doesn't eliminate the error message.
    In addition, Photoshop CS4 stalls
when it is trying to locate plug-ins.  However, Flash and Illustrator do
    execute properly.
Can anyone me advise how to solve this
    problem?
    Thanks,
    Stuart Braun

  • DW CC 2014 Server Busy

Every time I launch DW CC 2014 on my Windows 8.1 machine I keep getting a Server Busy message where I can switch to the application or try again. Eventually it goes away but it really delays the start up time on my DW application. I have added DW to the trusted applications list for Kaspersky so I don't think that is the issue. Never had this problem with the previous version of DW CC. Anybody else running into this?

Any update on this?! I've been through seven Customer Service calls/chats and still nothing has helped. I'm getting quite frustrated.
Fifth or Sixth time I'm dealing with this issue. Still a major issue as it impacts my business. 95% of the time I start up Dreamweaver CC I get an error message that tells me "Server Busy" error message.
I've done all of the following:
    Restarted.
    Cleared My Recent Documents.
Used Adobe Cleaner Tool to uninstall and then re-install the app.
    Turned off AVG
    Turned off my Windows Firewall
Shared my screen with three tech support people with zero success.
I do have a local Admin account created and launching the app from there "sometimes" works, but I should't have to go to another account/user to launch this one app.
I've probably done a lot more but can't remember because there's been SO much work I've had to do to make this app work. WAY more than I should when paying for a service.
Why this app? And why is this being so incredibly difficult? I'm paying for a subscription and I can't use an app that is vital to my business. I'm getting tired of this and I need it fixed ASAP!
Seven, now eight times is too many. WAY too many.

  • Server busy (100% of the time)

Why do I keep getting server busy message upon deleteing/viewing recordings? I tried it on IE 9, Firefox, Google Chrome and Safari all with same issue.

It's not your browser!  Although some Vz reps will say it is, just to get rid of you.
Almost all of us are meeting with the
    Warning
We're sorry. The server is temporarily busy. Please try again later.
messages most or all of the time. Mine often freezes up even before I try to execute a function... the
    Warning
We're sorry. The server is temporarily busy. Please try again later.
is as far as I've ever gotten these past few weeks though.  Verizon simply hasn't assigned enough capacity and bandwidth to the Home Monitoring & Contol function.  Because new users won't know this until after they've signed up and paid the fees.

  • 'server is busy' message blocks all use

In my Lightroom 2.7 suddenly I often get the following message (free translation from Dutch):
    ''Server is busy.
This action cannot be completed because the other program is occupied. Click on Activate to switch to this program and solve the problem.''
The options are Activate (opens Windows Vista startup menu), Try again (does nothing) and the option Cancel (greyed out). It is impossible to shut down this message and Lightroom cannot be reached as long as the message window is still open. The only way is to shut down the program the hard way.
I have no clue what 'the other program' can be. I have the feeling that maybe some other process is blocking access to disk (backup, desktop search, ...?)
how can I find out wich program is causing the problem?
How can I close thes message window?

    I posted this in http://forums.adobe.com/message/3289580#3289580
    I've found "the" solution.
Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit. (it should work for any version, Vista, and 7)
I tried turning off windows search and superfetch.
    That didn't work for me,
I tried disabling the windows search, and superfetch
I tried deleting the catalog and creating a new one.
    I tried uninstalling and reinstalling
    Nothing.
Same thing, Server busy, and when you click on switch to it opens the start menu.
You have to disable the two. Windows Search, and Superfetch.
1st turn them off under Administrator, Services
    Right click and click disable.
Then right click and click on properties.
In the drop down named Startup Type: move it to disabled.
    Repeat for Superfetch.
    Then reboot into safemode.
Open Lightroom there, either 3.2 or 3.3rc3
Create a new catalog, import a photo, try to print.
You won't be able to print but it will keep that action.
    Reboot into windows normally.
Open the program, and there you go. It will be functioning normally.
The problem seems to be that the catalog gets corrupted and the program can't open, even if you delete the catalog there is a remnant that stays with the program.
You most likely do not have to try to print, but it worked for me.
Let me know if this solves it for you.
    Thanks guys!

    Hi Ashu
Please make sure the below information:
    1. If you are getting this eror message while opening Crystal Reports 2008 or Xcelsius 2008.
    2. If you are getting this error message for Crystal 2008, have you installed the Crystal Reports on a Citrix Server or a Terminal Server.

  • How to redirect to a server busy page when under heavy load

    Hello,
I have been doing extensive load testing of a web application using Weblogic
5.10 sp 06. I have found a point where under extremly heavy load the server
just does not respond anymore. Fair enough.
What I want to do is at a certain load level (before it stops responding) I
want to redirect users to a "Server Busy - try again later" page. Is there a
setting in weblogic that allows me to do this ? Or do I need to have other
monitoring software to take care of this ?
              Thanks and Regards,

It is possible to create and use your own execute queue in 6.1 and specify it's
length, so I expected this to happen when queue length reaches this number, but
              it didn't.

  • "Server Busy"

I've googled this problem and I can't find anything that
seems to apply to me. I'm sure it's come up here, so here is my
problem. I keep getting the error that says "Server Busy" "because
the other program is busy." I can either press the "Switch To ..."
button (which brings up the Start Button) or the "Retry" button
(which does nothing.) The issues I found from my googling involve
ZoneAlarm, IIS and/or World Wide Web Publishing Services (e.g.,
    see
here). I've done as suggested to locate these in the Start
button > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools
    > Services, but to no avail, none of the known issues can be
    found in the Services window.
Any ideas why I keep getting this annoying error? I'm all
    ears.

Are you using Zone Alarm as a firewall?
Are you using a testing server on this site?
