When i try to upgrade my ipad2 i keep getting a messege that says "the ipad software update server cannot be detected. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network vonnection is active." i dont know what to do, please help. My internet is working fine, by the way.

It is possible Apple was doing maintenance on the server when you tried. Give them a few minutes and try again.
When you say your internet is working fine, do mean on the iPad or on your computer? If on the computer, you may be having a problem on the iPad. Try unplugging your WiFi router for a few seconds. Then reset the iPad's network. Go to Settings-General-Reset-Reset Network Settings. You will need to reconnect the iPad's WiFi.

As kb1951 states, unless this phone was purchased directly from Apple, it is not officially unlocked. In the US, only Apple sells officially unlocked iPhones. The message you got generally means your phone was hacked to unlock it...jailbroken...Apple's servers have detected such & are preventing your phone from activating...there's nothing wrong with the activation servers.
You'll need a sim card from the carrier your phone is locked to in order to activate it. If you don't know what carrier, you'll have to call AppleCare in the US to determine this info. Be aware, US carriers will not authorize official unlocking unless you are a customer that used the phone on their network. Thus, there is most likely no way for you to get this phone officially unlocked.

Run that exe in Vista 64x, and then select the INF file from the Device Manager manual driver update instructions instead of picking from the list (which doesn't contain GeForce 8800 GS).
GF 8800 GS does NOT equal GF 8800 GT. Very different cards.

I am trying to update my iphone software to 5.0.1, and everytime i do I get a message saying "Iphone software update server cannot be contacted -make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active and try again later"
This has been going on for weeks, and I've tried everything
I have turned off firewalls to the best of my knowledge
I did that thing where you go to the LAN tab and choose detect settings
I've downloaded the newest version of itunes
I'm not very technologically savvy, so if anyone can help me - i would need a pretty clear walk through of what to do

Safari cannot open page because server cannot be found
I'm having problems on Macbook Pro with Yosemite. Most, if not all webpages cannot be opened in safari because the "server cannot be found." I've tried to troubleshoot a few different ways by googling the issue.
Tried running diagnostics, no issues found and no solutions offered
Tried monitoring connection while attempting to browse web, no issues detected
Reset computer
Reset router
Turned WiFi on/off
Cleared browsing data, history etc.
Tried using Chrome, doesn't work either
I've read that this could be a DNS issue, don't fully understand what that means. One solution offered is to "reset network settings" but I can't find where to do that on my Mac. Another option is to "delete current DNS servers" but I am not able to click them in the advanced network settings window. Any other ideas?

I do have a problem that Exchange 2013 CU7 is giving mit a "The server cannot service this request right now. Try again later." when trying to access some accounts using EWS and impersonation.
I know there might be throttling involved and for that I did make an separate policy and assigned it to the users (EWS andthe mailbox - just in case...)

This issue occurs because the EWS monitoring detects that the limit for the requests that are from a Client Access server to a Mailbox server was reached. Therefore, the Client Access server returns an ErrorServerBusy response code to all EWS requests to
the Mailbox server.
To work around this issue, make the following changes in the Web.config file on the Client Access server, The Web.Config file is located in the following path: Drive\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V15\ClientAccess\exchweb\ews
1. Find the following code in the Web.config file:

Change the MbxServerEnableConcurrencyControl value from true to
false.
2. Add the following line of code into the Web.config file:
<add key="DefaultFindCountLimit" value="2000" />
<add key="MdbFairUnhealthyLatencyThreshold" value="500" />
3. Reset IIS to check this issue.
If this issue persists, I suggest to create a new throttling policy with unlimited settings and applying the policy to those users.

Why would I get server cannot be contacted after a few hours of browsing?
I've had this problem since for several years, probably going back to v15 or so. Firefox loads and works fine for a while. Then, suddenly, for reasons I do not understand, it refuses to load any more webpages. I get a "server cannot be found" error. It's like Firefox forgets how to do an IP lookup, or gets a bogus answer that redirects to an IP that is bogus. It doesn't wait or timeout either. Once I get it once I cannot browse to any website until I close Firefox and reopen the program. Even opening new browser tabs or windows doesn't help. I have to completely exist Firefox (all instances).
I would like to note that if it is "about to break", when I click a link, bookmark, or type in the web address, when I hit enter it fails within a second or two. It doesn't sit around and timeout after 30 seconds.
I don't feel like I'm doing anything that is out of the ordinary. I have a few plugins, but this happens on multiple computers, including some that have no plugins disabled.
Here's things that may be affecting this behavior for me:
1. I use a hosts file to block a lot of spammy websites. I use a program called hostsman to handle the hosts file. I have the DNS service disabled because it cannot handle the number of entries that are in the hosts file. (been using this for more than 10 years)
2. I have disabled disk caching (I use an SSD and I have found that disk caching creates more problems for browsing than its worth). I still do the in-RAM caching, and it's not uncommon for Firefox to be using 1GB of RAM or so. I don't think I've ever seen it use more than about 1.2GB of RAM. All of the systems have massive amounts of free RAM. My main desktop has 64GB of RAM, with 75-80% of it free typically.
I've also seen this at different physical locations (home, work, other side of the country at friend's house's, etc.). This problem only affects Firefox. I haven't seen it on Chrome or Internet explorer (albeit I don't use them for hours on end). I typically have this issue a few times a day. I do work from home, and most of my work is in the browser, so it can be a bit annoying.
Right now my hardware on this machine is:
Lenovo Y55 with 16GB of RAM, i7-4700HQ and 512GB SSD. Other systems are far more powerful than this one, so I tend to think that hardware is not the problem.
Thanks.I don't have an answer for you, but we did receive some reports of this after the release of Firefox 36. One Firefox 36 user also believed that Firefox had stopped sending DNS requests, which is a prerequisite to being able to connect to the web server. Perhaps it became more frequent for you as well, since otherwise, you probably would have posted this a few years ago...
I don't recall that we identified the source of the problem, but in many cases, it was "something" in the settings folder.
Along those lines, could you conduct this test:

Click the Create Profile button, assign a name like April7, and ignore the option to change the folder location. Then start Firefox in the new profile you created.
It might take a while to determine whether the new profile is works better than your old one. If you want to import your bookmarks from your regular profile during that time, here's how:
You can use the Library dialog (Ctrl+Shift+b or "Show All Bookmarks") to access the Restore feature. The trick is knowing where to find your bookmark backups in your regular profile. After clicking Choose File... you can paste this into the file name space and press Enter to drill down to your profile folders:

The semi-randomly-named folder that has your last backup is usually the one ending with "default". Click into that one, then into the '''bookmarkbackups''' folder. Here you can pick the most recently updated file to restore.
Important: restoring a bookmark backup wipes any bookmarks currently in your active Firefox profile and replaces it with the contents of the backup file.
I think it's also reasonable to install AdBlock Plus, LastPass and SQLite Manager, as those, by themselves, are unlikely to be the source of this seemingly rare problem. But I wouldn't add all your extensions at once to the new profile. -

Trying to open Outlook Webmail App from Ipad 2 and am receiving the Error Message "Safari cannot open the page because the server cannot be found.
I have tried resetting my ipad 2 to no avail. Internet connection is working and am able to get into other apps/sites. Read older posting that this could be a DNS issues???
Help?The only other thing I can think of is to try a device reset (be sure and also close off all running apps beforehand):
Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally. -
I recently switched my application that uses EWS from an on-premise Exchange Server to Exchage Online through Office356.
The process worked just fine for several days, then I started getting the following errors;

This has been happening for the past 14 hours now.
I contacted my Office365 support team and they acted like they had never heard of the Exchange Web Services API, so no help there.
I can access the mailbox using the O365 web portal and I can access the mailbox account using the Outlook 2013 desktop client. The issue seems specific to EWS

Since the code worked just fine for several days and then suddenly stopped working with a server busy error, I have to think that this is some type of limit or throttling by EWS on the account. I process several thousand emails per day, in chunks of 300
at a time.
But I have no idea how to check for any limits exceeded. I am nowhere close to my O365 mailbox size limit. Right now, there are over 4,000 messages in my inbox, and growing.

DaveAll the API's EWS, MAPI, ActiveSync,Remote powershell are throttled on Office365 (based around what 1 particular user could resonably do). If you have had a read of this already i would recommend

You can't adjust or even find your current throttle usage so you have to try to design your code around living inside the default limits. If your using One Service Account to access multiple Mailboxes (or if that account is because used across multiple
applications) that can cause problems. In this case using EWS Impersonation is good solution as described in
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/exchangedev/archive/2012/04/19/more-throttling-changes-for-exchange-online.aspx (this basically means the Target Mailbox is charged instead of the Service Account).
Looking at the code one thing I notice missing is your don't appear to be paging the results of FindItems, also have versioned your requests to Exchagne2013. eg ". When the value of the
RequestServerVersion element indicates Exchange 2010 or an earlier version of Exchange, the server sends a failure response with error code
ErrorServerBusy. If the value of the RequestServerVersion
element indicates a version of Exchange starting with Exchange 2010 SP1
or Exchange Online, and the client is using paging, EWS may return a
partial result set instead of an error"
To Page FindItems Correctly you should use the IndexedPageViewType class and page the Items at no more the 1000 at a time eg something like

The support people should be able to help you as long as you can get past the first level. The EWS Managed API has a RequestId header that gets submitted with requests

Besides this issue, since upgrading I suddenly starting having the audio from commercials being played from tabs that are not active (open). I now have to leave my audio muted.

Fix the bug in your program! I have used Firefox since it came out. I am within a hairs width of switching browser. The only thing holding me with Firefox is my bookmarks. If I figure out how to export them, I am gone.

VPN connection on Mac gives "PPP Server cannot be authenticated"
Hello all
I am trying to connect my mac mini to my company's VPN. On my mac mini I tried the following to connect to VPN.
- System Preferences -> Network
- Created a new network, interface: VPN, VPN type: L2TP over IPSec, service name: Office VPN
- Configuration: default, Server Address: 222.222.22.222, Account Name: user1
Authentication Settings -> User Authentication Password: (password), Machine Authentication Shared Secret: (secret)
This does connect the mac to the vpn but after an interval of 6-10 minutes I always get a "PPP server cannot be authenticated" error. I can't seem to understand what is going wrong over here. The same problem is with every mac trying to connect to this vpn. Windows PC users did not report a problem of such sort.
I checked the system logs as well. Here's what happened until the connection was disconnected.

However, the Firewall options are not in System Preferences, but in the Server Admin in the Dock. Click on it, click on the triangle next to your server's name, then go down to FIrewall.
