Server Connect failure

Since updating my MacBook Pro and MacMini to SL, I can not use my Server Connect function anymore. When I try to connect to either computer, I get a "connection failed" message, even though when I Browse in the Server Connect function I can see both other computers. I can not share screens either, though I did get this to work once.
iTunes sharing is working as is iPhoto.
Also, each computer shows up on the others Finder under the "Shared" server area.
Any ideas why I would not be able to connect. Could this be a router issue?

HI,
Try repairing disk permissions on your Macs.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
*Could this be a router issue?*
Try restarting the router and see if that makes a difference. Disconnect from the power outlet for about 20 seconds and then reconnect.
Check the router vendor site to make sure the hardware is 10.6 compatible.

  • No Netflix - Provisioning Server Connection Failure

Well, at least I know I'm not the only one. They need to fix this ASAP

I took the advice (perhaps out of desperation) posted in another thread (http://community.sony.com/t5/Blu-Ray-Netflix-Online-Video/BDP-S590-A-Network-Error-has-Occurred-All-Internet-options/td-p/204901/page/5) which stated that "It is a problem wherein your BluRay loses its registration with the Sony server (the 'provisioning server'), which then no longer recognizes it or provides streaming services to it." And so I subsequently did this... 1) I logged into the Sony Essentials web site (https://internet.sony.tv/customer/template/Home.vm) on my laptop and removed my device (a Blu-Ray player - BDP-S390). 2) While the device was still on, I told the Blu-ray player to reset all settings (factory reset).  I didn't like the thought of that, but figured what the heck. 3) I turned the player off / unplugged it / waited / plugged it back in. 4) When it come on, it took me through the Easy Setup steps.  I had to re-add my WiFi settings, everything. 5) Under Network (not network settings), I clicked on the Activate Enhanced Features link and got my product code just like the first day I set this thing up a year and a half ago.  Back on the sony site I re-registered my device using this magic 5 character code.  The Blu-ray device then showed I was successfully registered.  Note, when I tried to go to this Activate Enhanced Features link in the midst of the netwotk problems, I also got a network error - I thought I was toast as I had just deactivated my device on the Sony site.  But the reboot of the device made it start from scratch. 6) I went to the Netfix app and it asked me to enter my login information.  Netflix is now working.  No network errors. 7) I went to Amazon Instant Video.  It still knew my account information (it showed up on the sony essentials web page for my device - I didn't need to re-add it).  All is well there now too. 8) Under System Settings -> System Information, the "Provisioning Server Connection Status" now shows Succeeded instead of Failed. All is well.  Assuming I wasn't just unlucky and all the provisioning servers magically began to work again in the middle of my messing around for 30 minutes, I would assume my device somehow lost its association with the Sony provisioning servers and would not/could not get all of that reassociated witout having to start the device from scratch. The fact that it took this much messing around to get it fixed tells me that Sony needs a more elegant way of reassociating the device with their provisioning servers.  They also need a link on their support web site that shows the current status of their provisioning server (in real time) so people won't have to guess whether the problem lies with their device or Sony's servers.  An option on the Sony Essentials site (which requires you to login) would be great - select your device, and click on a button to test your connectivity et al from them, to the device, and back again - in that order. Watching an Amazon movie even now (10:50PM Pacific time, 4/9/2014) - maybe I'll hold off buying that Amazon Fire TV a little longer.

  • Server Connection Failure Message Repeats Infinitely

When I launch Aperture, I get a pop up window message that reads "Connection failed...the server xxxxx.xxxxx.xxxxx. may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again. [OK button]"
The server that it refers to is an airport network disk I used to have, but don't have anymore. Aperture constantly pops this window up in an infinite loop and won't stop. You click "OK" then it comes up immediately again. I literally cannot get anything done in this program while the window annoyingly pops up over and over.
I am this close to switching to Lightroom. How do I stop this window from popping up?
    Thanks,
    M

Didi you have any libraries or vaults on this disk that Aperture might be trying to get to?
I you open Finder and goto *Go->Connect to Server...* is the network disk listed? If it is delete it. If its not there open the *recent Servers* pulldown by clicking on the last icon on the right (little circle with downward facing disclosure triangle) and see if its listed there. Clear the list by clicking *Clear Recent Servers*. Restart Aperture and see if that helps.

  • An error occurred within the report server database. This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database. mail will not be sent.

    Hii all,
I have a subscription which used to send report email daily 10 am morning
now today it does not sent an email the status i s showing above error message ..
why this occurs ?? at the time of subscription running time ??
i have checked there is not error of subscription it runs fine ..
    only today errored ..
    Kindly , help me
    Dilip Patil..

    Hi Dilip,
Based on the error message "An error occurred within the report server database. This may be due to a connection failure, timeout or low disk condition within the database." it seems the issue is caused by the Report Server catalog databases are
    corrupted.
To fix this issue, I suggest that you use the Reporting Services Configuration Manager to recreate the Report Server catalog databases. In addition, please make sure report server instance can connect to the report server database. For more details about Configure
a Report Server Database Connection (SSRS Configuration Manager), please see the following document:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-IN/library/ms159133.aspx
Besides, if the issue is caused by the connection to the SQL Server Reporting Services Report Server catalog database is timeout. Please refer to the following thread:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/db4ca6c2-5445-4ff9-9f63-e20f3859cc70/error-throwing-microsoftreportingservicesdiagnosticsutilitiesreportserverstorageexception-an?forum=sqlreportingservices
If the problem is still existed, I would appreciate it if you could give us detailed error log, it will help us move more quickly toward a solution.

  • Attendant console error - connection failure .... using server port 1859

Hi we are having issues where the user is unable to login to the attenadnt console
the error is as follows -
A connection failure has occurred attempting to connect to server: using server ort: 1859. Please ensure the server is active, and the logging information is correct.
    After reboot everything is OK
the netstat shows the app listening on 1859 is CTSS.exe? Which service does it corelate to in Windows? I can check if that service is running next time. I did not find a CTSS service ot something that sounds similar.
Also, in order to open a TAC Case where do I find the serial number for the Attendant console?

Welcome to discussions leffjay. Good one. Cheers.

I see a number of these events on my Lync 2010 Server. NSlookup shows that 75.0.230.1 is an sbcglobal.net server. (See bolded text.) I have no federation or other connections to sbcglobal.net or AT&T, so why is my Lync server attempting to contact this
    server (and others) at all?

To combat the issue, enable an HLB port on your FE servers (or any other pool you are using HLB on) and configure the health checks for the load balancer to use that port instead of the port used for TLS traffic.
Start by configuring the pool in Topology Builder, right click the pool, and choose Edit Properties>General.  Place a check in the “Enable Hardware Load Balancer monitoring port” and specify a port.
Also you can refer below link

  • ACE showing many connection failures on server farm

I just upgraded my ACE blade from A2(1.0 to A2(1.5a). After the upgrade I'm seeing an enormous amount of connection failures when I run the command show server xxx. Everything appears to be running fine. I can get to the web servers. I found an old posting and they reference Bug CSCsh1478, but when I looked at this bug the problem was corrected in version A2(1.0). Any ideas of what's going on?
    Thanks
    Mike

you will need to take a sniffer trace to see if there are any un-answered SYN or RST from the server.

  • Connection failure after deploying to 10.1.3 app server

I am working on a three-tier application that uses session EJB facades and TopLink for persistence. I configured a datasource in the embedded OC4J server preferences in JDeveloper (10.1.3) and can successfully deploy my persistence code to the embedded server and access it from a test client.
I recently installed Oracle App Server 10g 10.1.3 to be used for integration testing. In JDeveloper, I configured a new application server connection and EJB Jar deployment profile to allow me to deploy my persistence code to the new server. When I deploy my code to the server and attempt to use one of the session EJB persistence methods, I get the following exception message:
Internal Exception: java.sql.SQLException: javax.resource.spi.ApplicationServerInternalException: Unable to create a connection. Connection factory has been stopped.Error Code: 0
In the Oracle Enterprise Manager, my application is running and the datasource and connection pool test successfully.
If I restart OC4J from Oracle Enterprise Manager, my application works correctly, at least until I have to deploy new code to the server, at which time the above error reappears. My question: Should OC4J have to be restarted each time new code is deployed? I am not making any changes to the datasource or connection pool configurations. Thanks.

    Thanks Jaap.
I was told recently by someone at Oracle that Forms/Reports is supported on 10.1.3.x and eventually on 11g (not yet released), and I was also told 10.1.3 doesn't require two servers, but I'm having trouble finding much to support either claim.
Reason I'm asking is that we're currently using the client/server Forms/Reports and need to decide on a migration path and l don't know if it's wise to continue with the 10.1.2 App Server knowing it's going to be de-supported in a few short years and I don't want to go with 10.1.3 if it requires additional servers (we're small). We're looking at APEX as a possible alternative...

  • I'm having strange random connection failures. Are there ineffieciency in my config?

I've been having strange, random connection failures and I'm trying to eliminate possible causes.
What happens is while I'm browsing on the net over wifi, a link will at random not connect to the site, but instead fault to the ISP error page. It happens with highly reliable sites like google, or ebay, or whatever. If I direct connect to the cable modem, the problem site is immediately available.
I'm sitting <6 feet from a 871W router (with antenna). There's one router in my building and others are at my neighbors.
Below is the conf file. Just to imagine how rediculious this problem is, here's a screen shot from a web page. This shows a web page I visited, and after clicking on a link (an embedded youtube video), the error showed up within the page itself.
Why would only some URLs fail to connect? Is there inefficiencies in my config?

I removed the ip router 0 0 to no great effect, which I consider to be a win.
I'm guessing that since overload is what--I understand--translates the one outside to the many inside IPs, that the suggestion to have only one overload configured means I should combine the two ip ranges into one.
I deleted 10.0.0.0 network. Changed the bridge references to 1 and vlan references to 1. Now wifi and ethernet should all be using the same internal network? That's the idea, right? Any more fat?

Post subject: NSURLErrorDomain error -1100 in OS X 10.8
If you check for software updates using the App Store in OS X 10.8 and get "NSURLErrorDomain error -1100" the problem may be with your Software Update preferences. This is particularly likely if you were using a custom Apple Software Update server. To solve the problem, quit the App Store, move the following two files (if present) to the trash, restart, and only then rerun App Store updates:
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist
    /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate.plist.lockfile

  • Mail Connection Failures And EWS (Exchange Web Service) Errors

    Hi,
I upgraded from Leopard to Snow Leopard on Friday, and was able to set up my Mail, iCal, and Address Book very quickly and easily. Everything has been working great until today, when I experienced an issue with emails with attachments. The company I work for uses Exchange 2007 hosted on Rackspace.
When sending an email with attachments, I sporadically receive a connection error. This is the same error that I usually get if a server goes offline or I lose my Internet connection - the one where you get the choice to either try again, send later, or use another server to send the email. I will receive this error over and over, and can then send an email with attachments a few minutes later without issue, so it is definitely a sporadic problem. I have not had this issue with emails that did not contain attachments. On at least one occasion, an email with attachments was delivered to the recipient successfully but failed to show up in my Sent Items either in Mail or on the Exchange Server's web mail client.
Rackspace was unable to diagnose the issue, but they have had several reports of the same problem. I looked in the console and saw several errors logged by Mail, all which appeared to happen around the same times that I had the connection failures for the messages with attachments.

Just wanted to report this issue in case this is something that other people are experiencing, and to see if Apple's engineers could look in to it. There is a simple workaround, which is to set up a regular SMTP server as the outgoing mail server for the Exchange account, and to use this instead of the outgoing Exchange server set up by Snow Leopard.
    Thanks,

  • Re: Connection Failure: ReadFile on fd=1231 failed with err=64  + JVM_recv in socket input stream read

    Jon,
I believe that this error is similar to a "connection reset by peer". It is
a Window specific error. I believe it indicates that something has happened
on the other end of the socket such that the socket has gone bad.
I think that this should only occur when people reset their connection
before the reply is sent. I don't believe that it is indicative of any
serious problem other than this communication failure caused by the client.
I've opened an issue to catch and squelch these spurious exceptions rather
than logging them. For now I think it is safe to ignore them.

    Hi Guys,
Using weblogic 5.1 (downloaded pretty soon after announcement) on windows
2000 (yes I know not certified there yet) and using jdk1.2.2-001.
    I have a pretty standard setup - a connection pool (5) to a sqlserver
    (remote) machine.
A pretty standard multithreaded servlet - grabs a connection, does aselect,
calls dbkona to dump output, releases connection.
It runs fine - browser returns result. When I push 'reload' on browser, say
10 times very quickly, I get the following errors. It is sometimes a
    combination of these:
    1- Mon May 08 13:34:41 GMT+00:00 2000:<E> <HTTP> Connection failure
    java.net.SocketException: ReadFile on fd=1912 failed with err=64
    at weblogic.socket.NTSocketMuxer.initiateIO(Native Method)
    at weblogic.socket.NTSocketMuxer.read(NTSocketMuxer.java, Compiled
    Code)
    2- Mon May 08 13:40:42 GMT+00:00 2000:<D> <ListenThread> Problem
accepting connecti on java.net.SocketException: Connection reset by peer:
JVM_recv in socket input stream read
Now I can get rid of (1) by switching off native IO!! This also stoppedIO
exceptions that were being raised by the servlet when it tried to outputto
    the output stream. (2) persists.
I have changed nothing else in the properties.
    (1) sounds like I may need to up the number of file descriptors open?
    (2) I don't know. Is my server too loaded? I am running on a 600Mhzusing
64Mb heap for the server with 300Mb swap available...

    Jon

    Hi,
I have noticed that applying the service pack helps things quite a bit.
I no longer get NT muxer errors etc etc. just the "connection reset by
    peer"
    every now and again.
As I am repeatedly hitting the server from one browser, your 'connection
    going bad' scenario probably
    applies quite well.
(btw. before the SP, the errors seemed to crop up more just before/during
    a
    GC.)
