Server Error Encountered

Mail is showing an error on one of our email accounts. The error is "The server error encountered was: unable to process from lines (envelopes), change recognition modes or check for corrupted mail drop." In Mail, we have two different email accounts, but only was has this error come up. I have checked the settings and they have not changed. I contacted the person who runs the email server and he says there is no problem at his end. I have tried to add a new email account but it also comes up with the same error. What can I try? Any help is appreciated.

Quit Mail.
In your Home folder. open Library folder, open Mail folder in that, look for the Envelope Index, and drag it to the Desktop.
Then in your Home folder. open Library folder, open Caches folder in that, look for the Mail, and drag it to the Desktop.Move Envelope Index to the Desktop in...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
Move this folder to the Desktop...
/Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail

    What are the settings for both your Incoming and Outgoing servers, including port number, authentication method, and whether or not SSL is enabled for both?
    Also, it's possible your college is blocking traffiic from Google, so you might try changing the DNS Servers by going to System Preferences > Network > Configure > TCP/IP and enter these two:
    208.67.222.222
    208.67.220.220
    then click Apply Now, quit System Preferences and restart Mail and any other Internet applications you were running. Check to see if Mail still gives you problems.

    on one mac account but not the other why?

    k finally my account is receiving mail. But it was out of service for over 15 hours. And on only one of my .mac email accounts don't know how or why. Yet I even deleted my account from my mail and re-entered it but that didn't help, only time did. So strange and discerning for a paid mail account service. Great when it works. But it might be nice to have an auto forward feature for when the accounts go down so that emails may still be sent and received at one of my free email providers that has not ever had any issues.   • Server error when testing form!!

    Hi,
    We have a completed form but cannot test it do to server errors we encounter ever time we try to test. Also have tried to email link to access form which will open and can be filled out, but Server error encountered when we hit submit. How can this be resolved, and what assurances are their that it won't happen to all the respondents trying to submit registration forms for our event when we distribute - this has been an issue for more than a week now?

    I was able to submit a test record just now, using Win7/Chrome. So you may want to delete a response with a bunch of "test" entries.
    I've looked into the server log and don't see any other submissions entries so I suspect that something happens on the client side.
    To help us investigate more, can you please tell:
    - OS and browser version you are using
    - send a screenshot of the error you are seeing
    - confirm that you are seeing the problem all the time
    - try with a different browser to see if you can reproduce the problem
    Also, use the following url:

    to open the form (but do not submit) and click on "Report Problem" link at the bottom of the page. This will create a email with submission history, please email this to: [email protected] so we can debug further.

  • Server error: "The attempt to read data from the server '(null)' failed"

    Multiple times during each day my client (Mail.app) puts up a little exclamation mark "!" next to the mail account hosted on our Leopard Server. Clicking on this little alert icon pops up a message that reads:
    +There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “Leopard Server Account” or try again.+
    +The server returned the error: The attempt to read data from the server “(null)” failed.+
    I can make the "!" go away by choosing Mailbox>Synchronize>Leopard Server Account. And everything seems peachy but it inevitably pops up again in another hour or two. It's annoying because I'm not sure if mail is getting through or not when the "!" is up.
    Any ideas why this is happening?

    MY SOLUTION REPOSTED FROM ANOTHER THREAD:
    I've just solved a similar issue.
    I have a dedicated server running Plesk 9.5 and when I upgraded to iLife 11 and Snow Leopard this error appeared. I could quickly click "get mail" and I'd get all my mail, but only 3-4 of my 9 mail accounts would connect. Theo others would have the error:
    "The server error encountered was: The attempt to read data from the server..."
    I found solutions for those using IMAP mail:
    modify the /etc/courier-imap/imapd configuration file and change MAXDAEMONS from 40 to 80 and MAXPERIP from 4 to 40. This allows all the machines behind my home firewall to connect to multiple accounts on the e-mail server with mailbox caching enabled.
    I'd made this change on my server but it didn't seem to have any effect. It dawned on me that I'm using POP, not IMAP. So I found in /etc/courier-imap/pop3d the same settings. I changed the MAXDAEMONS from 40 to 80 and MAXPERIP from 4 to 40 and voila, all my connections concurrently worked.
    This has taken me more than two days to fix and I hope posting this helps someone else with the same issue.

    I have tested on my local environment and can reproduce the issue, as
    Vaishu00547 mentioned that the issue can be caused by the Execution Account you have configured in the Reporting Services Configuration Manager is not correct, Please update the Username and Password and restart the reporting services.
    Please also find more details information about when to use the execution account, if possible,please also not specify this account:
    This account is used under special circumstances when other sources of credentials are not available:
    When the report server connects to a data source that does not require credentials. Examples of data sources that might not require credentials include XML documents and some client-side database applications.
    When the report server connects to another server to retrieve external image files or other resources that are referenced in a report.

     first run "ipconfig /flushdns" and then "ipconfig /registerdns" finally restart dns service and check the situation,also you can check dns logs computer management ->Event viewer->Custom Views->Server roles->DNS.

    By your state,I think you want to install EMC on windows 7.
    If that,you can refer to the following steps;
    1.Check that you have installed the necessary operating system components
    a.     Open Control Panel, and then select Programs.
    b.     Click Turn Windows features on or off.
    c.     Select Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1.
    d.     Navigate to Internet Information Services > Web Management Tools >IIS 6 Management Compatibility.
    e.     Select the check box for IIS 6 Management Console, and then click OK.
    2.Ensure that you un-tick the box during the setup wizard to automatically install roles and features required for Exchange
    3.If there will be issue, you can try to install Exchange management tool in other Windows 7 X64 machine to see whether it is OK

    I am getting following error when i try to browse the reporting service url.

    It is configured in sharepoint integrated mode.
    Created a site collection with "Business Intelligence Center" and published couple of reports and it gets renderd. Everything seems to be working except for browsing the reporting service URL.  Here is the Log info.

    Detach the contentdb from SP and then reattach it. To do that you'd run this command:
    STSADM -o deletecontentdb -url https://******.com -databasename whateverdb
    Then to add it back you'd do:
    STSADM -o addcontentdb url https://******.com -databasename whateverdb
    Thank you Mike Yin, I have confirmed that this solution works, I had the exact issue, my investigation steps are in this order:
    1. Verify if there is a orphaned site  (use stsadm.exe -o enumsites or stsadm -o enumallwebs or Test-SPContentDatabase
    2. On my case I found the site orphaned on the root url [/] so I cannot just do a stsadm -o deletesite -force -siteid, so I did is to Remove Content from the CA and then re-add the content db back using CA. (Application Management > open the affected
    Content DB and click the Remove content database checkbox. Then click Add a content Database, and re-add the same contentDB.
    3. Verify in the RS Config Manager and click the RS Web Service URL, to see if works.

    Take the steps suggested in this support article:
    FaceTime, Game Center, Messages: "There was an error processing registration" when signing in
    The time zone must be correct for your location.
    Make sure you know your ID (an email address) and password. The password should be in your keychain, which you access in the Keychain Access application.
    Sign out of iMessage:
    Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
    Then sign back in with your verified credentials.

    Is there any error message in the event log? Even with RAID and redundancy implemented in your system, data corruption risks still exist. Please refer to the article below about Reliability and Risk Mitigations to troubleshoot the issue:

    fyi, i just installed oracle 10g (10.2.0.1.0) database and 10g developer suite. i am a newbie to 10g. i used to program using 6i developer and 8i database.
    this happens on three different scenarios:
    1. when i click on the Canvasses node even it is a new form.
    2. whenever i create a new block using the wizard upto the Layout wizard.
    3. whenever i click on the Canvasses node after opening an already existing form made from 6i.

        One of the server in my organization running SQL server 2008 reporting services.
    Users are complaining that they are not able to fetch reports, after going through logs its been found that following three errors are coming although reporting services are running & both report DBs are online :-
    Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot load the Windows extension.
    Report Server (MSSQLSERVER) cannot connect to the report server database.
    Report Server Windows Service (MSSQLSERVER) has not been granted access to the catalog content.
    Following is the error when we click on reporting link :-
    The report server has encountered a configuration error. (rsServerConfigurationError)
    We tried restarting Reporting services but still its not working, reporting services & DBs are on same machine.
    Same server was rebooted 4 days ago.
    Can anyone please help here.

    According to the error message, it seems that the issue is caused by the account used to connect catalog database does not have permissions to access the catalog content.
    To fix this issue, please refer to the following steps:
    Open Reporting Services Configuration Manager.
    Go to "Encryption Keys" to backup the Encryption Key.
    Go to "Database" tab to click "Change Credentials" to reset the connections.
    If everything is configured correctly but still it didn't work, try to delete encrypted content. Please note that once we delete encrypted content, we cannot recover it. We must re-specify connection strings and stored credentials, and we must activate subscriptions.

    Based on the error message "The report server has encountered a configuration error. Logon failed for the unattended execution account. (rsServerConfigurationError)", it seems that the Unattended Execution Account settings in Reporting Services
    Configuration is not correct.
    Reporting Services provides a special account that is used for unattended report processing and for sending connection requests across the network. Unattended report processing refers to any report execution process that is triggered by an event rather than
    a user request. The report server uses the unattended report processing account to log on to the computer that hosts the external data source. This account is necessary because the credentials of the Report Server service account are never used to connect
    to other computers. To configure the account, please refer to the following steps:
    Start the Reporting Services Configuration tool and connect to the report server instance you want to configure.
    On the Execution Account page, select Specify an execution account.
    Type the account and password, retype the password, and then click Apply.
    In addition, please verify you have access to the Report Server database by following steps:
    Go to SQL Server Reporting Services Configuration Manager, make sure the configuration is correct.
    Go to Database, Verify that you can connect to the database.
    Make sure you are granted public and RSExecRole roles.
