Server Error in '/businessobjects/Enterprise11/InfoView' Application

Post Author: RHerbert
CA Forum: Deployment
Cyrstal Server has been installed for about 2 years.  Everything has been running just fine ever since the initial install.  There has been no changes made.  However, just a couple days ago, when we try to launch the InfoView application, we get the subject error and I haven't got the slightest idea as to what is wrong and what needs to be done to fix.  I have restarted IIS as well as re-booting the server sitll to no avail.
The HTTP message:   HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
The URL is correct:  http://myserver/businessobjects/enterprise11/infoview/logon.aspx
Anyone with info on how to fix, I would really appreciate it.
Thanks
Herbie

Any IIS/Windows/.NET updates? Maybe this will help, although it mainly applies after new installs: check if there is a '\' at the end of the Web Content string, under Local Path. Also, take a look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/315122

  • 500 Internal Server Error while running a wd application

    Hi Experts in WD,
    I am getting the above error while trying to run a simple wd application for getting some data from the sap system using adaptive rfc. This is my first adaptive rfc application, so I am following the exact steps as in the tutorial given. But cannot figure out why this error is coming. I am able to run another application, where no models or rfc are used. Could anybody help please?
    Where am I supposed to look for the logs about why this error is happening? In the page that is displayed, there are no traces or links to any other info.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Thanks a lot,
    leme
    PS: the web dynpro is running on port 50200 not 50000, I dont know whether that should cause an issue. Cannot think of any other differences. BTW, SLD and JCO destinations are all configured and running ok.

    Hi l m,
    The HTTP code 500 indicates internal error in your application. That could be for example a NullPointerException or something else.
    If the stacktrace is not visible then  you could check in the logviewer tool what is wrong.
    However, perhaps the most simple way is to go to
    c:\usr\sap\XXX\YYY\j2ee\cluster\server0\log
    and check the latest files and lines with notepad.
    Hope that helps

    Please do a fetch from the database and then change the information in DRM console for the CSS parameter. This error I received only due to the CSS details in DRM 11.1.2.

  • Crystal Reports Server Error - Unable to cast object of type

    Hi Everyone,
    Not sure if this is the right place to post this question but couldn't find a Crystal Reports Server section.
    After doing a windows update on my crystal reports server the following error now occurs when trying to log into .Net InfoView -
    An error has occurred: Unable to cast object of type 'CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoObject' to type 'BusinessObjects.Enterprise.Desktop.InfoView'.
    I found the following article which I followed and re-installed the .net components as well as ensured all services are enabled.
    Article: https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/oss_notes/sdn_oss_boj_bip/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/scn_bosap/notes%7B6163636573733d36393736354636443646363436353344333933393338323636393736354637333631373036453646373436353733354636453735364436323635373233443330333033303331333233303335333433323337%7D.do
    The error still occurs.
    I did some further investigation and found that a similar error occurs in the Admin Console when I try and open the Crystal Report DataSources.
    This is the error page that comes up
    Server Error in '/businessobjects/Enterprise11/WebTools' Application.
    Unable to cast object of type 'CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoObject' to type 'CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Desktop.Report'.
    +Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information
    about the error and where it originated in the code.+
    +Exception Details: System.InvalidCastException:
    Unable to cast object of type 'CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.InfoObject' to type 'CrystalDecisions.Enterprise.Desktop.Report'.+
    Source Error:
    +The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode.
    To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:+
    1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:
      <%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>
    or:
    2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:
    <configuration>
       <system.web>
           <compilation debug="true"/>
       </system.web>
    </configuration>
    +Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode.
    The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.+
    +Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead.
    You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario.+

    I'd try creating a new Application Pool just for running businessobjects and crystalreportviewers11 and nothing else.
    Although the apps are .NET, it uses COM Interop for functionality, so using a common app pool with other versions will collide.
    Beyond that - if you have a SAP Business Objects support contract - you might open a new SAP Incident ticket.

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you accessed SharePoint site through form based authentication.
    How did you configure the form based authentication?
    Here is a link about the steps required to configure FBA in SharePoint 2010 for your reference, and check the steps to see if there anything wrong in your configuration:
    http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/352841/How-to-Configure-Form-Based-Authentication-FBA-in
    Through the common error message, we cannot find what exactly caused the error.
    Here is a similar thread for you to take a look:

  • Office web apps "Server error in '/wv' Application"

    Hi, I successfully installed office web app for sharepoint 2013. However, when I tried to open documents, it shows the preview but once view/edit in browser, I got this error. What seems to be the problem?
    Server error in '/wv' Application.
    Unable to determine zone from request

    Hi  ,
    According to your description, my understanding is that you encountered the error “Server error in '/wv' Application. Unable to determine zone from request” when you open document using Office Web Apps.
    Are you using  https:// to access the Office Web Apps server? Is the default zone of your web application in Alternate Access Mappings using http:// ?
    If so, you can change the default zone
    of your web application in Alternate Access Mappings to use https:// .
    Or  set AllowOAuthOverHttp to true:
    $config = (Get-SPSecurityTokenServiceConfig)
    $config.AllowOAuthOverHttp = $true
    $config.Update()

    Make sure you're using the latest SP:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009038092009E/cr2008win_sp2.exe
    Consider adding latest FP also:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100001024152010E/cr2008_fp24.zip
    Make sure you are disposing of the report object once you are done with it and before you re-run it with new parameters (.close, .dispose).
    Test without the combo box. Let the report prompt. Can you reproduce the behavior now? If not, try to supply the parameter values via a text box. Can you reproduce the issue now? E.g.; is it the combo box that is the issue, or the report?

    I have seen this question asked several years ago, but have never seen a response that suggests what the issue may be.
    I would really appreciate any help in resolving this problem.\
    The application has been running from quite some time and this problem started just recently.
    Thank You.
    -Rick

    Hi Rick,
    According to your description, the exception “System.IO.IOException: The file exists.” is thrown out when you export the report on report manager.
    Generally, the exception is thrown out because there are more than 65535 files without deleting previous temporary files in our temporary directory. Based on my research, it has reported the same issue when exporting the report on report manager, and deleting all
    temp files from C:\Windows\Temp could resolve the issue. I would also suggest you remove the temporary files from C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp. Please refer to the first comment at this link:
    System.IO.IOException: The file exists
    Reference:
    Path.GetTempFileName Method
    If you have any question, please feel free to ask.
