Server failed

My iMac keeps stalling or hanging when I go to certain websites. Sometimes it says that there is no network connection..... that the server failed.
I'm wireless, using an Apple Time capsule. Anyone know what the issue might be?

When I try to manually update my software by clicking in software update, I receive a message that "software update can't find the update server. Make sure you're connected to the internet, then try again. Software update can't check for update because of network problems. Server failed" Yet when I check my internet connection, I am in fact connected and my Linksys system is working fine.
Do I need to reconfigure something?

Cannot get maile connection to server failed

followed the instructions for icloud set up in apple support for ipad and iphone even deleted the account and then set the account up with the correct ID and password. I do use a different ID than my apple ID for my icloud account. I use my me.com email address. I can get into the cloud on my pc and I can send and recieve email when I log into my icloud account but this fails to work on my ipad and iphone. Attempts to seen or get email on these devices when on a wifi network end up with the message "cannot get mail connection to server failed"

"Connection to server failed" error with Gmail exchange server

Hi,
I upgraded my iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3 on Friday and now I can't access my Gmail account using the Microsoft Exchange settings, I just get a "Connection to server failed" error.
I also have a Google Apps email account for my website and I am able to access it using exchange... it's just my regular Gmail account that I can't access (and that's where all my contacts are stored).
I can access the account using the regular Gmail email settings but that doesn't sync my contacts over the air, which is the advantage of using Exchange that I love the most.
I don't know if it is related or not, but I had a really hard time upgrading to iOS 4.3. I guess the update file was corrupt and it put my phone into restore mode. I had to use a different computer for the upgrade to finally work. Because I was using a different computer I had to restore it as a new phone rather than restoring from a backup, so maybe that has something to do with my email problem.

I seem to have solved the problem. I deleted my Gmail account from the phone and then changed my Gmail password from my computer, and then tried adding the account to my phone again... and surprise, surprise, it worked.
I'm not sure why changing the password fixed the problem, but I'm glad it's working again.

Cannot send email via AOL on iPad2 - "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed."

My CEO has an ipad2 and I set it up w/ AOL. She cannot send any email via her AOL account from her iPad. She gets a message that says "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed." We've tried it on wifi and on 3G (Verizon version). I've removed the account and added it, I've tried setting it up as an IMAP account vs. using Apples standard AOL mail setting and nothing seems to work. The SMTP settings are smtp.aol.com, port 587. I've tried adding an alternate server/smtp, but I haven't been able to find anything that works. Any advice or other people having this issue? It works fine sending an email from her aol web mail. And unfortunately, having her sign up for a gmail account is not an option. Thanks

Interesting. Firstly I have been on AOL since the early 90s with no current intention to switch as my primary personal email account.
I have two email accounts on my iphone - AOL and my email from my business website. I deleted both and then recreated first the business account and then the AOL account. Same error. Then I wasn't sure what you suggested but I turned off the AOL SMTP server and selected the business email SMTP server by turning it on with the same result. I still get the error "A Copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the mssage content to the server failed."
Perhaps this problem will get fixed by IOS 6. AOL will not talk to me unless I pay and Apple says its not their problem. So for the time being I use the AOL web interface in the iPhone's Safari to send emails from the phone.

Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
If nothing above helped, restart your router.
No data is lost due to a reset.

How long has it been going on? I've had my yahoo mess up and if i wait a bit it resolves itself. Yahoo is doing something with their servers and it messes with your mail if your mail happens to be on one of those servers.

App Server Fails to Start after Installation

I've spent a whole day struggling with this, looking through forum discussions and trying out every single suggestion I've come across in the forums. I'm running out of ideas now and really appreciate any help I can get with this problem.
I'm trying to install SJSC2 (also tried with SJSC2u1 with the same outcome) on a new HP notebook (nw9440) running WinXP_sp2. I'm using the default installation done by HP.
My installation path is C:\Java\SunCreator2 (C:\Java\SunCreator2_1 for update 1).
After the installation the App server fails to start up and gives the below error in the server.log.

I've tried every workaround I've seen in the forums such as installing under different paths (both with spaces and without spaces), cleaning all the temporary files in the Temp directory, renaming the productregistry in the windows system directory. Each time I get the exact same error in the install.log.
I also tried installing the stand alone SUN App Server 8.1_02_2005Q2 as well as 8.2. I don't seem to have any issue with this installation or running of the stand alone server at all on the same machine.
Really appreciate any help I can get. TIA....

After spending more time looking through the forum, I came across the below thread which has worked in my case (though it was suggested for Sol10x86).

This is the workaround that worked in my case.

$ mv processLauncher.xml processLauncher.xml.trayIcon
$ cp processLauncher.xml.bak processLauncher.xml

$ cd ../bin
$ ./asadmin start-domain creator
This started the app server. After that I was able to start and stop app server within the JSC as well.
Only difference between these two xml files seem to be,
processLauncher.xml.trayicon
<main_class classname="com.sun.rave.tray.RavePEMain"/>
processLauncher.xml
<main_class classname="com.sun.enterprise.server.PEMain"/>
Possibly pointing to a bug in the "com.sun.rave.tray.RavePEMain" class.

DMS-200 doesn't play uploaded videos: "Connection to video server failed"

Hello, everybody!
I have CISCO DMS-200 deployed. I have console and an http access, I can manage options, I can upload videos, but I can't play them in web-browser. The device was bought 6 months ago and deployment was done by 3rd party. But the video playing over browser didn't work ever.
There is no proxy between PC and DMS, I have all codecs installed on PC, I've checked FireFox, IE, Chrome...
When I try to start video playing, the following message appears: "Connection to video server failed". (See screenshot).
I have some ideas about the reasons.
First, may be I need an additional license for Player at DMS-200 side? Because in Digital Media Players section I have "This feature is not licensed".

Second, may be there are problems with File Hosting Locations? I have several error messages like "URL test failed" in the appropriate section (Please, see screenshots).
So, please, share you ideas about the issue! There is a few information about the problem, I can't find anything. Are there any ways to turn on debug at DMS-200 side?

I am having a problem accessing my Yahoo email account. It keeps saying, cannot get mail, the connection to the server failed. Then I put my email in settings and it works but this happens constantly. Anyone having this problem?

My Yahoo email asks me daily for my email password or says the connection to the server failed. Is anyone having this problem currently? I noticed old messages in chat mentioned the same problem. I get into my Yahoo email fine on my desktop computer for several weeks without re entering a password. But the IPad does not seem to be connecting daily with Yahoo without putting a password in again.

So, I didn't change anything and now it is working better. I still get the odd error though.
I have a feeling this has something to do with the SSL update Apple released and it was their server side.

I have a web page that contains a ReportViewer control. I am trying to display a report, which is an .rdl file located on the SSRS server, in this ReportViewer control. I have set the ReportPath and ReportServerUrl correctly. I am

Please follow these steps to solve the issue:

Logon the application server(in this case, it is the server that host the web page), check if we can use the URL we got from step 3 to access the Report Server. If so, please replace the ReportServerURL in the ReportViewer control with this URL. If it is
not available, could you please post the error message.
Additionaly, we don't need to provide the extension for a server report. The ReportPath should be like: /<reports folder>/<report name>

A copy has been placed in our outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed

I go from "The recipient was rejected by the server becasue it does not allow relaying" to "saving email to outbox because content to the server failed" when i try sending email out of AOL. I tried all the suggested fixes. AOL had me add a server cwmx.com using port 587 and turning off my wifi, that did not work. I tried adding a new server with stmp.aol.com and adding my username without the @aol.com with no luck. I have spent hours trying to figure this out, been working with AOL and Apple with no luck.
I didn't have problems until i was told to restore my phone to factory settings because of a software issue i was having, it has been almost a week now does anyone have any recommedations to fix this?

Been going on for any of my AOL accounts for about 2 months. Started on iphone 4 w. ios5 and continued to ios6 and now iphone 5. no diff. Have even trying reinitializing iphone 4 and just setting up one aol account. no help. Gone through all the permutations I can think of. Does not happen for my non-AOL accounts. Apple blames it on AOL and AOL won't help without getting paid.

Sending email error with Yahoo: "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed."

HELP! Why am I getting this error message? It's driving me crazy! When I try to send an email, the message stalls in the outbox and the following message pops up - "A copy has been placed in your Outbox. Sending the message content to the server failed." I have deleted and reinstalled the account, restarted the phone, etc - what the heck? The emails work just fine at Yahoo online, so the account it fine...I don't want to hard reset the phone, as I had to do that recently and it's a pain - any suggestions?

OR they are the right settings but you are trying to send through a different internet provider or 3G provider, that does not allow that SMTP server to send email.
if I send email from 3g or someone elses wifi on a different ISP, it will not work, because it does not allow that server to be contacted. this is normal.
What you want to do is setup a gmail account and use their SMTP server settings for the defauly outgoing server. that way you dont have to worry about this.

I have been using my iphone for almost a year and after my email address was hacked yesterday by a diet berry fake email, i can send out an email from my phone. I have removed, rebooted, removed, etc.....and changed my password, still can't send out an email.

all of the sudden my phone wont send emial but will receive them. I have tried everything suggested as far as turn on/off, delete acct and set it up again and nothing seems to be working. Yahoo responds to these reports at the end saying they fixed the issue. I think what that my mobile yahoo mail was somehow blocked by yahoo because that was the device that i logged into right before (the hacker) blasted all of my inbox. That is the only thing I can think of. Exactly 24 hours later I was able to send email. I did figure out that for the iPhone 4gs you can go into your settings and yahoo mail and change the outgoing server from yahoo to gmail if you have gmail set up on your phone and that will allow you to send from yahoo through gmail. I also sent a feedback form to yahoo, that is the only way to contact them, and have heard nothing. There is nothing about this on their support site. So let us know if after 24 hrs you are magically able to send. Yahoo really should use that log in history where they can see that a log in has occurred from a strange IP to block that and warn the user. My log in history right before this happened went: home IP in the US, home IP, homeIP, home IP, Morroco, home IP, home IP, etc. So it is blatantly obvious. My little software company can block IP's, I know yahoo can.
