Server for Adobe Drive ...

I want to try Adobe Drive ...
Do you know a link for a DAM server for free trial?
By the way, what will Adobe Drive be in the future?
Will it be continue to live with Creative Cloud side by side?
Thanks a lot ...

MS made a number of changes in the SharePoint 2013 release to enable Adobe Drive (via CMIS connector) + SharePoint to work together (changes were also made to the CMIS connector in the Adobe Drive 4.2 release earlier this year). The changes made by MS were not backported SP 2010.

  • Recommend development environment for Adobe Drive 4

Looking at what is needed for Adobe Drive 4 and I wonder what the recommended development environment is.
    Would this suffice:
    Adobe Drive 4 SDK
    OSX 10.7
    Eclipse Juno 4.2 64Bit
    JDK 1.6 64bit
Or should I be looking at 32bit versions?
And should I follow what was in the documentation which was older version, 3.6 of Eclipse for instance?

Please take 32 bit application to set up you dev environment, especially, make sure JDK 1.6 32 bit is used.
    Regarding Eclipse, 3.6 is recommended

  • Is there an enterprise installer for Adobe Drive?

OK, I may have missed it but I need to rollout to a number of users simultaneously.
As with other Adobe products is there some form of Enterprise package creation/installer?
    Cheers
    Phil

There is supposed to be a Windows Enterprise Installer, you can follow the installation instructions here http://help.adobe.com/en_US/AdobeDrive/4.2/Adobe_Drive_Admin_Guide.pdf
However, I am getting stuck and need some help.
I have used AAMEE 3.1 to create a package for AD 4.0.0
As stated above when I first ran the MSI file that was created bu AAMEE 3.1 I encountered the following error
WARNING: DW039: Payload {C3BC3DF1-83AB-4808-A672-474E15340D4B} Adobe Drive 4 4.0.0.0 is not installed so should not be there in the deployment file
After reading through the logs I found the entries
    C:\Users\username\Desktop\Adobe Drive 4.0\Build\\Setup\runtime\adobe_caps.dll
    Caps Library path doesn't exist
Caps Library load Failed or Function Resolving failed
    Custom action return code: 65535
There was no "runtime" folder underneath the Setup folder. I looked at the original installer and located the "runtime" folder and copied it to the Setup folder as Laurel mentions above.
I am now seeing this error as the first error in the logs when I run the AAMEE msi file, then it rolls back.

  • Can't connect to server by Adobe Drive

I can connect to the server by web portor but every time when I try to connect by using Adobe Drive, it will show this errors:
    sometimes I got this one:
          com.adobe.drive.connector.api.exception.PermissionDeniedException:Operation not  allowed.
    sometimes I got this one:
com.adobe.drive.connector.api.exception.RemoteIOException: Unable to complete request to remote server
Meanwhile, the log can't be accessed...
    could someone help me please?
    thank you very much!
    Liang

I think the problem is that the exact protocol you enter in the Drive UI (e.g. https://yourserver/path) is never transferred to the ConnectHandler implemented by the connector you are using. Instead, the handler will get something like aem://yourserver/path and probably try connecting via http:// only. The only option I found was having a http:// endpoint, which redirects to the https:// port instead. Then, it seems to work.

  • How do I sign into a server for Adobe Anywhere in Premiere Pro?

I don't know how to sign into Adobe Anywhere through Premiere Pro. It says I need a server, username, and password, but I don't know where to find these things. What is a server, and what username and password do I need? Thank you.

While Premiere Pro CC comes ready to work with Adobe Anywhere, it is a separate product that you need to have licensed and configured on a specialized server.  I'm guessing you do not have this hardware & software configuration and therefore you will not have access to Adobe Anywhere.  If you are interested in purchasing the license and the hardware feel free to contact me and I can help direct you to an authorized reseller.  Beyond that you have a fully functioning professional editing tool in Premiere Pro so if you do not need the features of Anywhere then don't worry about the sign-on and make use of all of the other great features.

  • No Drag-n-Drop feature for my mounted Adobe Drive in my Adobe Bridge CC

I've developed a custom Drive Connector for our storage server. In Adobe Bridge CC, after connecting and auto-mounting to our server through Adobe Drive 5, there is no Drag-n-Drop feature for my data inside the mounted drive. But, if I browse other directories of my Mac with Bridge, all files are draggable. What could be the problem?
It's quite strange! Because, files within my mounted drive are draggable through Adobe Bridge CS6, but not in Adobe Bridge CC !!!
    My configuration:
    Mac OSX 10.9.2
    Adobe Bridge CC 6.0.1.6
    Adobe Drive 5.0.2.16
    Our own custom Drive connector

I too have discovered the lack of Drag-n-Drop support in Bridge when browsing assets provided by my Adobe Drive connector.  I have tried telling Drive that I support nearly all of the Drive features by adding  "Capability"  objects to the ConnectHandler's response object (including Capability.COPY and Capability.MOVE), but that had no effect; Bridge still refuses to let me drag an asset provided by the connector.
I would very much like to know what I have to do in order to provided Drag-n-Drop functionality.

  • Editing and sharing custom metadata/keywords through Adobe Drive in Adobe Bridge

I am part of a four-person video production unit operating within a local governmental entity. We are currently using four licenses of Adobe Master Collection CS5, and are about to get access to dedicated SAN storage.
We would like each user to have the ability to assign specific keywords to any given video clip (or remove keywords from clips) within Adobe Bridge, and have the three other users see the same results. I've noticed that Bridge alone will allow for keywords to be added or removed, but this list is specific to each user. Importing one list into other users' profiles is a start, but would no longer work, once keywords are added or taken away.
The overview page for Adobe Drive 3 says that it, "allows users to edit and view custom metadata/properties through Adobe Drive in Adobe Bridge," but I haven't found any explanation in either the website, forums, or user's guides that delves any farther into this area. If we incorporate Adobe Drive/Bridge into our workflow, will we be able to share/sync keywords between users? Is there some other (affordable) solution that would let us do this?
Thanks for any insight you might be able to offer.
    Chuck

    Hi,
    Thanks for sharing your case.
The keywords you mentioned is XMP metadata, if all your digital assets are managed by ADEP CQ DAM service, you can use AD3 with built-in ADEP connector to communicate with the DAM server, then, I think it can meet your requirement, it means, the keywords can be set by one user through metadata panel in Bridge, and can be viewed by other users.
for custom properites, it's different from XMP metadata, it refers to the properties of one asset which is managed by a Content Management service. users have to use another UI to edit/view them in Br after AD3 is installed.
here are some requirements to use it.
    1) CMIS 1.0 compiliant server should be used to manage all your digital assets
    2) use the built-in CMIS with AD3 to connect to the server.
if other kind of servers are used, you should develope a custom connector through AD SDK to enable custom properties feature as well as some other handler required by AD SDK
    thanks

  • Getting going with Adobe Drive 4

So we're looking for a Digital Asset Management system. Since we use the Master Collection, times 14, so an Adobe solution would be great!
We found Adobe Drive 4 to be a perfect fit for us...
However getting started has been a pain in the ***....
We have a Mac Pro, with 2 x quadcore 3.2's, 32 GB of RAM, 1 x 256GB SSD, 26 TB eSATA and Firewire 800 connectors... Installed on it is the Master Collection, OSX Server and Adobe Drive, that's it!
Fast forward to yesterday as my ip address, 10.0.0.108, as I type in the Adobe CQ Digital Asset Management details, server url, username, password, desplay name, I get the following error...
"The server could not be connected"
    com.adobe.drive.connector.api.exception.RemoteSystemNotFoundException: Failed to connect repository
I've tried everything I can think of to get Adobe Drive 4 connected so I can get our assests under control... I'm at my wits end an need help getting this up and running..
    PLEASE!
    Ted

You’ll need to identify an asset management system to work with…either from Adobe or a number of outside vendors. To fully enable the Adobe Drive connection to a DAM server, one needs an Adobe Drive plug-in (what we call connectors) to interface with the DAM. Adobe Drive includes a connector that is designed to work with Adobe’s CQ DAM, now Adobe Experience Manager DAM. We also include a generic CMIS compliant connector that will work with servers that implement the Content Management Interoperability Services (CMIS) specification. There are also custom connectors available from third-party vendors that are designed to work with their DAM systems.
If you are interested in learning more about the Adobe Experience Manager DAM, go here.

  • Guide to connect Adobe drive with Alfresco CE

    Hallo everybody!
Since adobe remove version cue, i search for a replacement. Can somebody please write a short  guide how to configurate Alfresco CE to optimal work with adobe drive? Its drive me creasy, bljad! I think, i am not alone with this problem. Feel free to write here everethink, you found about it. Together we find a solution, i think.
The interest were (after connect Adobe drive to Alfresco CE):
    - how configurate the space, where Alfresco CE saving the files ?
    - how to set permissions to Alfresco CE drive to chek in the files from adobe programms?
    - in bridge i cannot see the thumbnails of files (only the standart thumbs, maby it has something to do with the permission rights?)
    - how can thomebody else from anywhere connect to Alfresco Cmis that is locally on my pc, like earler in versioncue, to callobarate)
Thanks to everybody for suggestions and help!
    Adobe drive 2.1
    Alfresco CE 3.4

    Hi Borisbritva,
To work with Adobe Drive, you just need to install and launch Alfresco CE server. No special configuration.
Section 'Using the CMIS Connector' in CMIS CONNECTOR FOR ADOBE DRIVE 2.1: TECHNICAL NOTE doc shows the detailed steps on how to connect Alfresco server with Adobe Drive 2.1.  Below is the link for the tech note:
    http://help.adobe.com/en_US/creativesuite/cs/adobedrive/CMIS_Connector_Tech_Note.pdf
For "how configurate the space, where Alfresco CE saving the files ?" & "how to set permissions to Alfresco CE drive to chek in the files from adobe programms?", I think you need to read Alfresco Document ( http://www.alfresco.com/resources/documentation/ ). For simply try, use admin account to connect Alfresco Server with Adobe Drive. CMIS CONNECTOR FOR ADOBE DRIVE 2.1: TECHNICAL NOTE doc gives the detail info about how to browse, check in, and check out files.
For "in bridge i cannot see the thumbnails of files (only the standart thumbs, maby it has something to do with the permission rights?)",  Adobe Drive 2.1 with CMIS connector doesn't support it. But Adobe Drive has exposed API to retrieve thumbnails of files. If you have interest, you can download Adobe Drive SDK ( http://www.adobe.com/devnet/adobedrive/eula_21.html ) and try it.
For "how can thomebody else from anywhere connect to Alfresco Cmis that is locally on my pc, like earler in versioncue, to callobarate)", Adobe Drive 2.1 with CMIS connector support it. Just replace 'localhost' with you external IP address in Server URL when connect to Alfresco server.
    Thanks,
    Hui

  • Adobe Drive & Version Que

Thanks Laurel for your info! I have so much to do, that a direct link to the solution would have been helpful. I have no interest in reading trough the whole Adobe site, who would want that for the next thousand years.
I also have absolutelly no interest in having any provider of any service that wants to control or maintain my data. It was just great when I was in control of my data and I was defining who has access to my data, I guess you could rightfully so assume that there is a lack of trust toward a company that just randomly disposes of products that worked well for people like me.
I probably have to go through a lot a hassle to get my data back and I have purchased Version 5 a long time ago and never until yeasterday installed it just because of Version Que. Stupid of me to not resist the temptation to want to get something for my cash.
I say to Adobe which was for many years one of my favorite companies, keep disappointing customers like you do, and soon nobody is supporting you any longer.
If you have a solution to the problem, please let me know. I have no interest anymore to spend more then a half hour to solve this problem, otherwise I will have to find another solution without Adobe.
Thanks again for your interest in helping a bad situation, it is bad enough that one can't even get customer support anymore and no warning during the installation that you mess up all my data, well done Adobe. I hope you get my distinct sense of frustration, trying to stay "politically correct" which in this case is rather hard to do.

    Here is the link:  http://www.adobe.com/products/versioncue/downloads/index.html
A search for 'Adobe Drive' returned this as 3rd in the list.
Adobe Drive 2 supports connectivity to Version Cue server CS4 (not earlier versions).

  • AAMEE 3.1 deploying Adobe Drive 5

    Hello
The documentation for Adobe Drive 5.0 says to use AAMEE 3.1 for deployment however when i try i get a valid installer could not be found.
I have the Adobe Drive 5.0 dmg mounted.
This worked fine for Adobe Drive 4
    Any ideas?
    Thanks

This doesn't work on OSX 10.7 10.8 and 10.9 for Adobe Drive 5 using aamee 3.1. I also get the message a valid installer could not be found. It worked fine on my Windows 7x64 machine.
    Was your issue resolved markc0?
I just noticed that when i run the Adobe Drive 5 installer it wants to install adobe drive at the following location
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Drive 4
So i looked at the AdobeDrive5-mul.install.xml contents
    <Deployment>
      <Properties>
<!--Note that the INSTALLDIR value is machine specific.  The value below is a suggested default value but may need to be overriden.-->
        <Property name="INSTALLDIR">/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Drive 4</Property>
        <Property name="installLanguage">cs_CZ</Property>
<!--The set of valid languages includes:
    cs_CZ
    da_DK
It installs just fine when running outside AAMEE and i don't think the install location matters but just wanted to point it out as this is the only discrepancy i could find.

  • No previews in Bridge with Adobe Drive 3?

We are using a custom connector for Adobe Drive. Windows Explorer shows the correct thumbnails and previews for asset versions (in the Show Versions UI). However in Bridge we cannot see any thumbnails or previews. Clearing or purging the cache does not help. It turns out that the execute method in the GetPreviewIconHandler class is never called when browsing assets in Bridge. This used to work fine with Adobe Drive 2 (at least for jpg previews, png previews never seemed to work in Bridge).  We tried different Bridge versions (4.0.4.2, 4.0.5.11, 4.1.054) but they all have the same problem. Did anything change regarding this behavior in Adobe Drive 3? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Indeed, adding the READ_XMP_METADATA capability seems to do the trick.
    Thanks for the quick help.

  • I need information on how Adobe Drive works and how to set it up

    Hey folks,
believe it or not, but I have been searching a lot on the web already on how to find information how Adobe Drive works and how to set it up.
Most information that I found is old and seems to be valid only for older versions of Creative suite. Here in the company we use CS5.5 and will switch to CS6 soon.
I already downloaded Adobe Drive 3 and installed it on my Mac. Unfortunately I don't know what to do next? Do I need Adobe CQ to make it work? Or can I use it with an existing SVN infrastructure, that we have here? Actually I would like to access the SVN via Adobe Bridge. But after the installation of Adobe Drive my Bridge CS5.5 is crashing while starting up, and I didn't find out how to fix this again.
Actually I just found the manual for Adobe Drive 3 and read it. Seems to be easy in case its working. But it's not in my case, as mentioned above.
Any idea what could be the problem?

    Thanks,
in the meantime I managed to re-setup Adobe Drive 3 again. Bridge CS5.1 is still crashing (i have a log-file with a detailed error-report, if somebody knows how to extract information from this.
At least now I can start Drive as a standalone application.
So now my main question is how to connect Drive 3 to our subversion infrastructure in the company. Does anybody have information on this?

  • Windows 7 Control Panel won't uninstall Adobe Drive CS4

As I am now running Adobe CS6, I attempted to use the 'Uninstall or change a program' facility in the Windows 7 Control Panel to remove an entry labelled 'Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium'. In fact, all that currently remains under that heading is Adobe Drive CS4. The Uninstall process for Adobe Drive CS4 appears to be working but then ends with the following message.
    Done
Some problems occurred while components were
    being removed. Please see below.
However, nothing is shown below that message except an Exit button. The uninstall process has no effect no matter how many times it is run.
Any suggestions on how to fix this or which disk locations are relevant for a manual deletion?
    David

Creative Cloud help says to uninstall CC apps on a Windows PC to do the following:
Open the Window Control Panel > Programs and Features
Choose an app and click Uninstall/Change
    Follow on-screen instructions
This information is NOT correct.  Programs and Features does not contain all versions of Adobe software installed via Creative Cloud Desktop.  It only shows the most current installation.  Photoshop is a great example of why this is so.  I currently have five versions of Photoshop installed through my Creative Cloud subscription.  Windows has difficulty knowing which version to start, much less which to uninstall because the executable file for each version uses the same name--Photoshop.exe.  In terms of designating which file types should be opened by which programs, the problem is equally evident.  For example, setting current version Photoshop CC 2014 (version 15.1) as the program to open GIF files is not possible because Windows shows it's already done that with the designated program being Photoshop.exe.  Of course, all other versions of Photoshop executable files use the name Photoshop.exe.  So, it's not surprising that Windows is confused.  But that does not help the rest of us.
The original questioner asked how they could get Windows Programs and Features to list CC applications.  I don't think that's possible given the way Adobe has configured and named the executable files that Windows relies on.  So, I'd add a question for Adobe:  How do I uninstall versions of Photoshop and other CC applications that I no longer use.  Programs and Features cannot help me--the programs simply are not listed.  So, how does Adobe envision users uninstalling CC apps that don't appear in Programs and Features?

  • Adobe Drive 2 SDK

The labs page metions an Adobe Drive 2 SDK for third party DAM vendor. Which sounds like us. But I can't find any more information about it - am I poor at searching or is the SDK coming in a future release?
Compliments to Adobe - this is seems to solve a problem we've had for a long time and our customers will love it.

Email the Adobe Drive product manager, Ken Toole ([email protected]), to discuss your plans for Adobe Drive development and access to the SDK. The SDK is not posted for download on adobe.com.
    Best regards,
