Server Install and the App Store

Hi all,
I purchased Lion and Server through Volume Licensing and redeemed both the codes in the Mac App store on the server the both got added to my Purchased items. I download Lion and run the installer and it says "Waiting for App Store to download Mac OS X Server Add on". I look on the Purchased options and the only option against Lion Server is "Install" but when i click that it tells me its not possible because i am not running Lion.
I am not sure how to move forward with this, I would prefer to upgrade the machine rather than reinstall from scratch.

Probably a long shot, but try resetting the App Store and Clearing Cookies.

Do you mean the install button stays on install, or do you notice a loading bar under your Launchpad icon?

Thanks for your advice, I went to the apple shop today for a face to face meeting with a tech and he checked everything and could not figure out why I was having this problem so we decided to give up on that account and create a whole new one for me using a different email address.
Now I can download apps on both my iPhone and ipad2.
If anyone is reading this in Brisbane Australia go to the Chermside apple shop and ask for Wade. He was fantastic!

An app cannot self install. If you are using the App Store app see the app listed with a cloud icon, it means that app was downloaded previously but it is no longer on your device. Tap the cloud icon to redownload the app.

It's a built-in app, so it can't be deleted nor downloaded from the store. If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (swipe your first home screen to the right), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Camera being set 'off' ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Just just launch the Mac App Store, select the "Purchased" tab and download MainStage or any other application you already bought.

The App Store version of Aperture will never ask for a serial number so something got confused on your system. Did you ever have a non App Store version of Aperture installed? Did you download the trial version for some reason?
You can try moving Aperture from the Application folder to the desktop and then going to the App Store. Log in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase Aperture and you should be able to download it again.

Never had this problem previously running a Macmini Server 2010 with the latest Mavericks Updates
Tried reinstalling over my existing OS and seemed ok until I once again updated to the latest security and Safari updates
Any ideas ?

I also forgot to note that this problem also persists with the new iBooks application. I cannot get past the 'Get Started' screen or access the iBooks Store. Again, all top bar menus are unresponsive.

You need to check to make sure you are actually connected to the network. Tap Settings > WiFi >and then tap the blue ">" next to the network name with checkmark. You should see a complete set of IP address but if the router didn't issue you an IP address properly, you will see your touch IP address start with 169.x. If this is the case, you are connected to the internal network but not to the web.
First thing to do (while you are on that screen) is tap "Forget Network". Then turn WiFi off. Turn it back on and, if needed, tap Other and re-enter your network information. If you continue to have problems, check with your IT department on Monday.
In the meantime, your laptop and iTunes can be used to purchase apps and music. Syncing them with your touch is a great way to get them installed while you are waiting for the answer on your WiFi problem.

FaceTime came with Lion already installed but it isn't shown as installed on the Apps Store...Help?

Facetime doesn't show as installed on the apps store but it normally comes with Lion 10.7 and Lion came pre-installed on my MacBook Pro. Does anyone know why is that? And how come the facetime installed doesn't connect to my iPhone 4 when I try to facetime call it?

It's a different version of Facetime. If you're running Lion, you have Facetime installed but it's not the same version as the one in the Mac App Store. I can assure you that having it show as not installed is normal; that's the way it is for every Mac on which I've installed Lion.
Be sure your brother and you are not using the same ID. You should be able to use an email-style address or a phone number.
I'm finding that establishing a Facetime link takes several seconds, so have a bit of patience - it's not instant. And once your Facetime partner accepts the connection, it takes another couple of seconds.
Be sure the iPhone is connected to your local wifi network, because Facetime will not work with cellular data connections under iOS 4. It will later this year under iOS 5.

Here is the solution that I received from the chat line.
When you update applications like Pages it usually keeps both versions on the computer. So what most likely happened is it didn’t put the new version on your dock. So to fix this, open a finder window. And go into applications which should be listed on the left. Scroll down and you will see Pages listed in here. And the icon should look different. You can drag that icon down onto your dock.Open that and you then can access your documents

I went on iTunes today and the app store on my iPhone 5 and both were in the UK location. How do I change my locatin back to america so I can see all the american trends and not the UK/London ones?

I went on iTunes and the App store today and both of them have somehow changed to be in UK form. The money symbol is different and it shows me whats trending there and not in america, where I live. How can I change the location back to it's original form so I can see whats trending in america and everything else. Please help.

Try going to the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app on your phone and tap on your account id, tap on 'View Apple ID' on the popup and log into your account, and then select the Country/Region section and select the US.
