Server is dis joining from the domain radomely

hi ,
i have a Greate problem that my applications server in windows 2003 os created on DMZ Zone is randomely disjoing the with DC server on the Same Zone  ,, if ia made it  work group and rejoin the into domain it works for some time and disjoiing again
,  can any body suggest me solutions to this porblem as the my application is linked with domain credentials users are bomarding me since morining

Hi,
Based on my experiences, disjoining a computer from domain requires manual actions.
To disjoin a computer, we need to:
Right click on Computer, select
Properties.
Click on Change settings.
Under Computer Name tab, click on
Change.
Then choose Workgroup and input a name for the workgroup.
You may need to find the user who have done this. You can also make sure that this user doesn’t have administrator rights on the server to prevent this behavior.
Here are some similar threads below for you references:
why member server disjoin from a domain

A server was not able to be accessed through domain account and found that the server is in WORKGROUP and not join in the domain.

I hope this helps.

  • Deleted failed DC from the domain (Server 2012 R2) - Now after doing metadata and DNS cleanup, I can no longer promote a new DC to the domain

    I work for a university and teach IT courses to undergrad and graduate students. The details below are pertaining an isolated lab environment
    I had a storage failure in my lab and the DCs became corrupt. This is a university lab environment so there isn't anything crucial on here. I just would rather avoid rebuilding the domain/forest and would rather use this as a learning experience with my
    students...
    So after the storage failed and was restored, the VMs hosted became corrupt. I did a NTDSUTIL to basically repair the NDTS.dit file but one of my DCs reverted to a state before DC promotion. Naturally, the domain still had this object in AD. After numerous
    failed attempts at trying to reinstall the DC on the server through the server manager wizard in 2012 R2, I decided that a metadata cleanup of the old failed object was necessary.
    Utilizing this article, I removed all references of the failed DC from both AD and DNS (http://www.petri.com/delete_failed_dcs_from_ad.htm)
    So now that the failed object is removed completely from the domain and the metadata cleanup was successful, I then proceeded to re-install the necessary AD DS role on the server and re-promote to the existing domain. Pre-Requisites pass but generate some
    warning around DNS Delgation, and Dynamic Updates (delegation is ignored because the lab is isolated from external comms, and dynamic updates are in fact enabled on both my _msdcs and root domain zones).
    Upon the promotion process, I get the following error message (also worth mentioning - the account performing these operations is a member of DA, EA, and Schema Admins)
    The operation failed because:
    Active Directory Domain Services could not create the NTDS Settings object for this Active Directory Domain Controller CN=NTDS Settings,CN=domainVMDC1,CN=Servers,CN=Default-
    First-Site-Name,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=domain,DC=school,DC=edu on the remote AD DC domainVMDC2. Ensure the provided network credentials have sufficient permissions.
    "While processing a change to the DNS Host Name for an object, the Service Principal Name values could not be kept in sync."
    As you can see, this error seems odd considering. Now that I'm down to a single DC and DNS server, the sync should be corrected. I've run a repadmin /syncall and it completed successfully. Since then, I've run dcdiags and dumped those to a text as well and
    here are my results...

    From what I can gather, there is a definite DNS issue but I don't have any stale records to the old DC stored anywhere. I've tried this with a new server as well and get similar errors...
    At this rate I'm ready to rebuild the entire forest over again. I'm just reluctant to do so as I want to make this a learning experience for the students.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    As you can see, there seems to be some errors. The one that I did correct was the one around the _msdcs NS record being unable to resolve. For whatever, reason the name wasn't resolving the IP but all other NS tabs and records were. Just that one _msdcs
    sub-zone. Furthermore, the mentioning of any connections to root hint servers can be viewed as false positives. There is no external comms to this lab so no communication with outside IPs can be expected. Lastly, they mentioned a connectivity issue yet mention
    that I should check the firewall settings. All three profiles are disabled in Windows Firewall (as they have been the entire time). Thank you in advance for your help!

  • What could cause a server to be removed from the farm other than running PSConfig and removing it?

    Hi,
    We had a strange issue today.  One of our two production WFE servers in our SP2010 farm had become disconnected from the farm. I noticed it because I had created a new site collection within an existing web site last week but it was only available on
    one WFE. I didn't think for one second that the server had already been removed from the farm but I had decided I would remove it and re-add it to see if that would fix the issue.  When I ran PSConfig to remove it I found the following:
    I checked the log:
    Entering function WelcomeForm.TryToLoadTheFarm
    Found a task by the name of initialize in the task collection
    Entering function Farm.Farm
    Leaving function Farm.Farm
    Entering function Farm.TryIsJoinedToFarm
      Entering function get CommandCollection.this[string key]
        Entering function CommandCollectionBase.Get
          Found value in collection for key initialize
        Leaving function CommandCollectionBase.Get
        Found command initialize in collection
      Leaving function get CommandCollection.this[string key]
      Entering function Command.this[string key]
        Entering function CommandCollectionBase.Get
          Found value in collection for key B2B_UPGRADE
        Leaving function CommandCollectionBase.Get
        Found parameter B2B_UPGRADE in collection
      Leaving function Command.this[string key]
      Clearing cached Farm objects to reload
      Entering function Farm.Clear
        Entering function CentralAdminServiceInstance.Reset
        Leaving function CentralAdminServiceInstance.Reset
      Leaving function Farm.Clear
      My cached Farm object is null, so will load it
      Calling SPFarm.Local and SPServer.Local to get the local farm objects
      SPFarm.Local returned a local farm
      SPFarm.Local retuned a farm, but SPServer.Local returned null.  Failed to connect to the farm, except in B2B Upgrade.
      Entering function Farm.Clear
        Entering function CentralAdminServiceInstance.Reset
        Leaving function CentralAdminServiceInstance.Reset
      Leaving function Farm.Clear
    Leaving function Farm.TryIsJoinedToFarm
    Failed to successfully try to see if this server is joined to the server farm.
    The operation will continue so that you can force a disconnect from a server farm that cannot be contacted
    Resource id to be retrieved is FarmIsJoinedFailureWhileUsingUICanOnlyDisconnect for language English (United States)
    Resource retrieved id FarmIsJoinedFailureWhileUsingUICanOnlyDisconnect is Failed to detect if this server is joined to a server farm.
    Possible reasons for this failure could be that you no longer have the appropriate permissions to the server farm, the database server hosting the server farm is unresponsive,
    the configuration database is inaccessible or this server has been removed from the server farm.
    To diagnose this problem further, review the extended error information located at {0}.
    If this problem persists, choose to disconnect from the server farm. After disconnecting, run the wizard again to create or connect to an existing server farm.
    Anyone know what this line means?
    SPFarm.Local retuned a farm, but SPServer.Local returned null.  Failed to connect to the farm, except in B2B Upgrade.
    Permissions were unchanged from before and I was running PSConfig elevated with the SharePoint admin account. So with this information along with the fact that the new site collection was not available on this server I concluded that it had been removed
    somehow.
    Has anyone seen this happen before?  As it is a production server I'm going to have to explain this to the customer.
    Thanks!

    Hi Fridge,
    In Sharepoint central admin,Manage servers in Farm,Does this show this WFE Server still?
    Check if any ports(32843,32844) has been closed on the WFE server which got disconnected as these ports are used to communicate between WFE servers
    Check if this is helpful

  • How to resolve "The server is unavailable and could not be accessed. The server is probably disconnected from the network." error in Sharepoint serach crawl.

    Hi all,
    I have created a content source in Search service application for a particular site collection "http://spwebapp/sites".
    I performed reset crawl index of Search service application and then performed a full crawl.
    But i get errors on running crawl on this content source for most of the files. The error is "The server is unavailable and could not be accessed. The server is probably disconnected from the network." Though the site is accessible.
    But before performing reset index the crawl was working fine on this content source. Crawl is working fine for other site collections. Only one site collection is facing this problem. Please let me know if what I can do to resolve this error.
    Thanks in advance.

    Are you seeing any error messages in the URL related to the Gatherer?  And in your content source, are there any site URLs that are no longer active or do you have any crawl rules set up that might be affecting access to the site collection?
    I've seen this happen for a variety of reason, SSL issues, proxy issues, permissions issues.  The Eventvwr and ULS logs should help you narrow down the real problem.
    Sometimes this is an issue because the indexer and the site are sitting on the same box, you could try doing a disable loopback check to see if that resolves the issue and if it does then go through the hassle of setting up a specific LSA :

  • How to get server data without reading from the socket stream?

    My socket client checks for server messages through
                while (isRunning) { //listen for server events
                    try {
                            Object o = readObject(socket); //wait for server message
                                tellListeners(socket, o);
                    } catch (Exception e) {
                        System.err.println("ERROR SocketClient: "+e);
                        e.printStackTrace();
                    try { sleep(1000); } catch (InterruptedException ie) { /* ignore */ }
                }//next client connectionwith readObject() being
        public Object readObject(Socket socket) throws ClassNotFoundException, IOException {
            Object result = null;
    System.out.println("readObject("+socket+") ...");
            if (socket != null && socket.isConnected()) {
    //            ObjectInputStream ois = new ObjectInputStream(socket.getInputStream());
                ObjectInputStream ois = new ObjectInputStream(new DataInputStream(socket.getInputStream()));
                try {
                    result = ois.readObject();
                } finally {
    //                socket.shutdownInput(); //closing of ois also closes socket!
        //            try { ois.close(); } catch (IOException ioe) { /* ignore */ }
            return result;
        }//readObject()Why does ois.readObject() block? I get problems with this as the main while loop (above) calls readObject() as it's the only way to get server messages. But if i want to implement a synchronous call in adition to this asynchronous architecture (call listeners), the readObject() call of the synchronous method comes to late as readObject() call of the main loop got called before and therefore also gets the result of the (later) synchronous call.
    I tried fideling around with some state variables, but that's ugly and probably not thread safe. I'm looking for another solution to check messages from the server without reading data from the stream. is this possible?

    A quick fix:
    - Add a response code at the beginning of each message returned from the server indicating if the message is a synchronous response or a callback (asynch);
    - Read all messages returned from the server in one thread and copy callback messages in a calback message queue and the synch responses in an synch responses queue;
    - Modify your synchronous invocation to retrieve the response from the responses queue instead from the socket. Read the callback messages from the corresponding queue instead from the socket.
    Also take a look at my website. I'm implementing an upgraded version of this idea.

  • INST-6180:Error while retrieving OIM managed Server URL from the domain

    Hi All,
    1). Getting the above error when running config.sh from MWHOME/Oracle_IDM1/bin/config.sh
    2). I already ran the config.sh from COMMON/bin directory.
    3). Extended the domain to support OIM and this ran fine.
    any suggestions?

    anyone have any ideas on this?

  • Do CCM's have to be joined to the domain ?

    I recently took over a system with a publisher and a subscriber and noticed that they were both not part of our domain. Does anyone know why they might of set this system up this way?
    Thanks in advance.

    It isn't required for the CallManagers to be in a domain, even if you have the directory integrated with your Active Directory domain. It is supported for them to join your domain. Joining them to a domain has no operational impact, but you should follow procedures carefully when performing upgrades, as some upgrades require you to dis-join the domain temporarily.
    You cannot, however, make them domain controllers. This stops you from upgrading them or applying service packs, as doing this requires you to be logged in as local Administrator, which you cannot do on a domain controller.
    Take extra care if you integrate with Active Directory and apply group policies to the CallManager server computer accounts. Some items, like password lockout settings, can get you into trouble. You will have no end of trouble repairing your cluster if your SQL service accounts get locked out, and this WILL happen during upgrades.

  • I need to be able to find domain controllers that have been removed from the domain but never demoted

    I need to find domain controllers that have been removed but never demoted.
    Here's the story...
    I came on an Active Directory administrator for an organization which has 600+ domain controllers, most running Server 2003, but I have some Server 2008R2. Throughout all this time the organization has had DCs that have stopped working, crashed or failed
    for some reason and all the IT department has done is created another domain controller name it the same thing with an (A), (B) appended to the name and then never removed any of the failed controllers from the directory.
    Thing is this has been going on for quite some time, don’t know for sure how long as I am still trying to clean up DNS replication problems and have been having to go around and reset machine passwords for the forest. What I need to be able to do is to script
    something that will return all the failed DCs so that I can go into the directory and use NTDUTIL to clean the machines. I don’t want to go into the directory and remove a machine that’s still out there. No one in the organization has a list or record of failed
    machines.
    You can see this may be a gargantuan task, but I need to be able to make it easier on
    myself by finding the machines first and cleaning out DNS, cleaning the DCs out of the “Sites” and cleaning them out of the directory.
    Appreciate any help I can get…

    Hi,
    Thanks for posting in the forum.
    Regarding your question, maybe we should remove these orphaned DC from AD, please try to refer to the following articles to perform the cleanup task.

    This is nothiung to do with me playing with the mds but happens many times when I override the existing composites.
    If anyone had faced this issue and have a better solution, plase let me know.
    One solution I was thinking was to remove that particualr composite from being loaded at startup of soa server but did not find any way how I could achive this.
    Thanks,
    Ajay

    I'm guessing but I think this happens when the server dies mid way through a composite deployment. Then when the soa-infra application tries to start it can’t find expected files for the half deployed composite and falls over.
    In our case the problem was with composite InvoiceTransformer_rev1.0. We are able to get the soa infra back up by:
    Stopping the soa server
    Replacing the adf-config.xml file in:
    <MW_HOME>/user_projects/domains/<DOMAIN_NAME>/deployed-composites/InvoiceTransformer_rev1.0/sca_InvoiceTransformer_rev1.0/soa_<SOME GUID>/SCA-INF/classes/META-INF
    Starting the soa server
    Starting the soa-infra application in the console.
    The soa-infra application started but most of the composites were down and needed to be redeployed.

  • Error adding Sales order via DI-SERVER Posting Date deviates from the defin

    When adding a sales order via the DI-API we have started receiving the following error:
    Error: Posting Date deviates from the defined range. To complete the operation, define the posting period to match the entered Posting Date. [(----) 131-204]
    I have verified that the posting dates within the document exist within the defined posting periods in SAP and that the posting period in question is unlocked.
    I can add the document within the SAP B1 interface without any issues.
    This process and code was also working up until the start of the new financial year.  There have been no changes to the code or the financial periods in the new year.
    There is a  peculiarity with the financial periods for this company in that they have moved from calendar periods in the past to financial periods.  Has anyone come accross any issues with posting dates and the DI SERVER API?
    The dates in the XML document that we are trying to add are shown below.
    <Documents>
    <row>
    <DocDate>20100310</DocDate>
    <DocDueDate>20100310</DocDueDate>
    <CardCode>C9999</CardCode>
    The following are the financial period values from OFPR
    Posting Date From/To:       06.03.10     02.04.10
    Due Date From/To:            01.01.10     01.04.11
    Document Date From/To:  01.01.10     02.04.10
    Start of Fiscal Year:         01.01.10
    Regards,
    Sean

    Hi Gordon,
    Our customer has moved their financial year end from 1 April / 31 March using calendar months to a 4/4/5 financial period model with a year start date from Jan.
    This was necessary after the company was purchased by a US firm that wanted to align the reporting calendars.
    Under the 4/4/5 model their financial year start date does not start 1st January. Hence the 3/1/2010 being the first date of the January period.
    No matter how the periods are setup the financial year start date in SAP Business One cannot be anything other than the 1st of the month.
    All posting within SAP appears to be working fine, it is only via the DI SERVER requests that we seem to be having problems.
    However, we suspect that the issue may be unrelated to the posting periods due to some other testing performed.
    Regards,
    Sean

  • Laptops joined to the domain

    Hey guys,
    Currently we don't join laptops to our domain because of a lot of our employees work remote and our password policy. We have a password policy in place that might affect mobile laptop devices users since they are never in the office. How do you go about
    managing the policy and for users laptop that don't come into the office however VPN in. What happens if their password is changed on the workstation at work or OWA, but their laptop doesn't recognize the new password. Thoughts? Any feedback would be awesome.

    We join almost everything to our domain. (Local accounts are strongly discouraged in my organisation).
    In your scenario, do your users not use the laptop at the office often? (they don't use it at the office and then take it home/away)?
    Do they have more than one computer, and the laptop stays at home?
    This can certainly cause the locally-cached password to become "out of sync" with the domain password for that user account.
    In such cases, use the old/previous domain user\password to logon, then connect the VPN, then "lock" the screen, and that requires the current domain user\password to unlock. This causes the cached user\password to be re-cached with the latest
    password.
    This assumes that your VPN solution retains the VPN connection during the screen-lock phase.
    Similar challenges for those users who have multiple devices - eg phones, tablets and multiple computers - each device will have a cache, and each needs to be updated, either manually or via re-sync.
    Or do I misunderstand?

  • How to get the server port and id from the Initialcontext

    hi
    i know that i can get the server port and id where the jndi service is listening from the InitialContext ( when i create InitialContext ic = new InitialContext(); from within a EJB. ). Does this work on any application server and where (at what position is for example the port) in the Enumeration at the ic are the different things put?

    I would usually just get the PROVIDER_URL property from the InitialContext and use that to determine the location of the naming service:
    String providerURL = (String)ic.getEnvironment().get(Context.PROVIDER_URL);You'll then need to parse that string to obtain the port and the server name. For example:
    // Assume that the provider URL is of form "protocol://server:port"
    int serverStartIndex = providerURL.indexOf("://" + 3);
    int serverEndIndex = providerURL.indexOf(:, serverStartIndex);
    String server = providerURL.substring(serverStartIndex, serverEndIndex);
    String port = providerURL.substring(serverEndIndex + 1);It's a fairly universal approach but there'll doubtlessly be some special cases (for example, the provider URL could be null and the InitialContextFactory class defaults it).
    You might have to adjust the server/port parsing stuff a bit as I just made that up and your URL might not conform to the pattern I described.
    Hope this helps.
