Server Marked Active/Failed

My MARS has started reporting lots of Server Marked Failed and Server Marked Active incidents. However, the report shows as Source and Destination IP addresses as "N/A". Is there any way to find out which Servers (or at least IP Addresses) are causing this so I can investigate?

All tunnel-groups contain "accounting-server-group RADIUS" and "authentication-server-group RADIUS"
The RADIUS server returns the VPN group assignment as OU=VPNgroup
I just did a packet capture on the RADIUS exchane and see the below happening.
Success
RADIUS request
RADIUS response with correct OU assignment
Failure
RADIUS request
RADIUS response with incorrect OU assignment
same time passes
syslog sent stating RADIUS server failed
tries a few more times, if the RADIUS server ever replies with the correct OU it will succeed otherwise it will timeout.
This appears to be a Window 2008 NPA issue.

I've been using KMS for several years. Generally there are no problems with KMS, but I have a single machine that is refusing to activate, and I cannot determine why. I've been doing extensive web searching but I'm not finding anything useful.

Windows 7 Pro was installed on this machine using Microsoft's volume activation media, and is a standard image applied via Windows Deployment Services to some 200 other computers with no problems.
We also use a variety of surplus/off-lease machines, usually Dell brand, never with any activation problems.

It's a Dell Inspiron desktop. Apparently a "for the home" system? Yet it was bought with Win 7 Pro OEM installed, and so I had hoped I could roll it into the KMS easily. Tried updating the BIOS but still acts the same.
How can a "home edition" BIOS that's incompatible with KMS come with Win 7 Pro OEM?
Oddly, we have several Dell XPS systems that are using KMS just fine. Those are almost exclusively marketed as "power gamer" systems for home use. I should see if there's some way to figure out which specific Dell products do this so they can be avoided.
Fortunately it seems Windows 7 Pro edition software does not care if I use the OEM key from the sticker, so I typed that in and it activated.
(Great, one weird machine that has to be treated specially from everything else we've got.)
Probably a question for Dell to answer. For whatever reason, Dell have not performed all the necessary OEM Activation (OA) configuration tasks on this machine, perhaps due to their manufacturing/marketing strategy for this model, or perhaps due to a defective
configuration pass in the factory. Perhaps the mainboard in this machine was repaired or replaced at some stage, and wasn't correctly re-configured. Only Dell can resolve the missing marker, since it requires OEM tools.
Activating using the COA sticker product key, doesn't depend on the marker being present.

Activation failed: CBS Server Error

Hi,
We have done the activation and transportation many times before. But now we hit this error when trying to activate:
Activation failed: CBS Server Error: CBS failed to communicate with some other server( internal code: COMMUNICATION_ERROR).
At the WebGui -> CBS -> Activities, if we want to view or search any activities, we will see the error like this:
Communication Exception Occured. Contact System Administrator.

Azure MFA Server activation fails

I installed the Azure MFA on my ADFS server and I cant activate it. It fails with 'Activation fails' error.
All the required ports are opened and I have also tried different internet connections.

I get this error while activating a DC/activity:
Activation failed: CBS Server Error: The user does not have the authorization for the requested operation( internal code: USR_MISSING_PRIVILEGE)
I have setup the required User Privileges as mentioned in help.sap site
Plus, I have also checked the NWDI.Developer role & it has all the foll actions, namely:
1. CBS.Developer
2. CBS.Display
3. CMS.Export
4. LcrInstanceWriterNR
Please guide...

Email has stopped working and cannot be re-setup; 'Activation failed' and 'Security of the connection cannot be verified' errors

The blackberry stopped receiving email as of Dec 22. it does reeive Registration messages from blackberry. The browser still works. I contacted the provider and the network is functioning correctly. I have deleted the email setup several times and set it up again; I have removed the battery and restarted and reset up the email. This involves a hotmail.ca account. During email setup it checks for update and indicates the mailbox is set up and then it wants to reconcile contacts and that is when the Activation Failed; an error was encountered when sending the activation transmission notice appears. When I use the browser to go to hotmail.ca and login, I can see all my email up to date and then an error message pops up indicating, Server Certificate Warning and when I select Details; it inidcaes untrusted certificate; unable to determine certificate's origin; when I view the certificate it identifies X h.live.com Untrusted Certificate Chain; Stale Chain Status etc... It's like the hotmail.ca or live.com is corrupted...how do I fix it. The only thing I have not doe is to use the Security tool to Wipe email. Any advice on how to proceed would be appreciated.

Office 2013 pro plus activation fail on windows 8

I have issue about getting Office 2013 pro plus activation fail on windows 8 via KMS server.
When I test using KMS server via nslookup -type=srv _vlmcs._tcp all looks good with corporate KMS server.

Installation Usages Types: DI, AS Java, EP Core, EP (EP for the Visual Composer)
Performed configuration steps:
- adaptation of VM parameter in the Visual Admin
- patched the NWDI Server and the Studio from SPS 9 to support package stack 12 + available single patches
- run the template installer => NWA with type DI Allinone run all post installation Steps for DI, CBS, CMS, DTR
- Oracle Parameters changed, User and Authorizations created and assigned (UME, J2EE Security roles, DTR => ACL List), SLD (Creation of a new Landscape), Configuration of the CBS with the VA
- Configuration of the Studio (SAP J2EE Engine (fill in the NWDI engine), Proxy Settings, Development Configuration Pool)
Development Steps for an example:
- Creation of a new software product (SLD)
- Namespace reservation on SLD => Application Context Root, Development Component Name
- Created a Domain and a Track on CMS
- Attached all Software components to the track (my own dc, SAP-JEE, SAP_Buildt, SAP_JTechs)
- Check-In the Software Components on Transport studio => CMS
- Moved the development configuration into Studio
- Created a ear- and a web-project => Display a JSP File (Its the same example like in the SAP Course TADM10)
- Check-in the activity under Open activities => Activate
My problem appears during the check-in phase in the studio. I was able to check-In the source files in to the inactive Workspace on the DTR, but the activation of the activity fails. (I thought that the build process runs automatically after the activation - also the movement from the source files from the inactive to the active workspace?).
I received no error message, but I cant find any source files in active workspace. The activity seems to be pending. I locate the request in the CBS, the request state is failed regarding the request type activate.
At the moment there is no separate runtime system assigned to the NWDI System.
Questions:
1. Have I forgotten an important configuration step?
2. Can I use the NWDI Server also as a runtime environment (DEV System)?

Activation Failed

I have a library project and an External Library project, both which build successfully. In fact the application that uses these runs successfully on one server. These projects were built on an NWDI Track and there is an activity for each (Create Library and Create External Library). Both activities are checked in and available in the activation view.
I first tried to activate the External Library as it has no predecessors. The build was successful but the activation failed. I thought maybe I needed to activate them at the same time so I tried to activate the Create Library - it has one predecessor (Create External Library) - I selected Activate with all Predecessors. Still Fails.

So I can understand there is a problem - but the activities are checked in and I cannot modify them so I am unsure how to fix this issue. I thought maybe create a new activity and just checkin the project from scratch but that isn't an option as these are always seen as predecessors. I really need to get these activated and released to the next server so any tips are appriciated.

While check in an activity got activation failed error

Hi All
When i clicked an activity and select Check in option it shows the Activation window .Then when i clicked on Activate button i am getting Activation failed error.Below is the error message:

Just check the full hostname of your DTR server, should be like
hostname.company.com
and check if somewhere only
hostname
is being used.and both are getting successfully pinged. DO not try the NWDS ping. Use command prompt and
ping hostname
and
ping hostname.company.com
Also this happens due to some clash with some other developer. Please check after some time, may be after a desktop restart. things should start working.

The error message suggests its the issue with Teradata source database to which SSIS tries to connect within the data flow task. Make sure Teradata database is available and LOGON is enabled.

Activation fail, broken DCs

we have a track call MRP, and Buildspace are:
- MRP_C
- MRP_D
anyone can tell me what is MRP_C for. is that for consolidation? I checked landscape configurator, runtime systems, and consolidation system is not ticked.
we have problem with activation. and I found our DC under (MRP_C) is broken.
We developed in MRP_D, however, MRP_C has broken DC, and I have no idea. is this will cause activation fail?
If I checked the request log, and I found that a lot of invalid independecies.

If the DCs were build successfully in *_D development track, it means that the transport of all the required DCs to *_C track was missed, so kindly ask your basis administrator to do the needful.
I checked the landscape configurator, tab "runtime systems", and find consolidation box is not checked.
Shall I check the box and set up a consolidation system? (is it the root cause for the problem you said that transports of all the required DCs to *_C track was missed?)
If so, shall I configure consolidation system same as development system, I mean using same hose, SDM, and port?

I am trying to install SLM as DISTRIBUTED SYSTEM. I have installed CENTRAL SERVICES INSTANCE on host 1 and DB instance on host 2.
and trying to install CENTRAL SERVICE on host 3.
CENTRAL SERVICES INSTANCE and DB instance install successfully.
I am getting this error message when installing CENTRAL SERVICE.

I have changed the hostname in all the file (1) hostname ,(2)/etc/sysconfig/network file . i even checked my hostname and it shows hostname as "HOST1" so i am confused even though hostname is "HOST1" but in dev_ms the IP ADRESS is resolving to "host1.mycompanyname.com"
3. Also when i am trying to run "startsap" or "stopsap" from host1 where central service instance is installed. It gives me "command not found" although i see all the exe file in /usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/run. why my command not running.
. I have added the sapmsSID 3900/tcp entries in both HOST1 and HOST3 services file.

Activation fails using automated phone system

I've used a MAK to activate several Windows Server2012 R2 machines using the automated phone system. On one machine, I enter the confirmation ID and get the "Thanks, you're all done" message, but when I check using slmgr, it still shows Unlicensed.
I've tried using slmgr /atp <confirmation ID>, and get "Error: Product activation failed." I believe I am entering the correct confirmation ID, because if I change it I get an error message that the confirmation ID is invalid.
Any ideas on where to look at why product activation is failing would be appreciated!

I agree with Tim. MAKs by design have a limited number of activations. I suggest that you should contact the
Microsoft Activation Call Center.

DFS Replication doesn't work. Windows server 2012. Failed to communicate with partner. Error 5012.

Hi! I really confused with this error. I created replication group within two servers - AD domain controller and File server. I just want to migrate some files from AD domain controller to FS. But synchronization doesn't work. I get the error
- DFS Replication cannot replicate with partner <server name> for replication group <domain>\<name space>\<share>. The partner did not recognize the connection or the replication group configuration. The DFS Replication service used
partner DNS name MyDCName, IP address <the server ip>, and WINS address <server name> but failed with error ID: 9026 (The connection is invalid). Event ID: 5012
It seems my DC doesn’t accept connection from FS. I checked network, permissions and other settings which are mentioned in this article.
