• How to set proxy for client-server socket connection?

Hi,
I'm using the code found on the following page to create a client (mobile) to server (pc) connection and send a text message.
http://javafaq.nu/java-example-code-503.html
This works with mobile operators without proxy, but does nothing when the operator uses a proxy. The question is, exactly how to set the proxy and port values for using that code.
Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks,

It's part of the cellular settings, and is usually set up by your 3G provider. You can't choose your own proxy server

• Jabber and Mobile Connect

Just setup Jabber (9.0.2) on iphone with Mobile Connect (CUCM 7.1.5). I run into incoming call issue where both Jabber & mobile phone would rings about the same time. I did some of research and Cisco doco below state Mobile Connect should automatically inactivated when Jabber is running and connected to the corporate network.
Anyone has this issue or could point me to the right direction?
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/jabber/iPhone/9.0/JABI_BK_J29330BB_00_jabber-for-iphone-admin-guide_chapter_011.html#CJAB_TK_ADA0EB97_00
Add Mobile Connect and Mobile Identity
Mobile Connect, formerly known as Single Number Reach (SNR), allows the native mobile phone number to ring when someone calls the office number while Cisco Jabber is not available.
When Cisco Jabber is running and connected to the corporate network, and thus available to receive VoIP calls, Mobile Connect is automatically inactivated.
The user requires a Mobile Identity to transfer Cisco Jabber VoIP calls to the mobile voice network.

Remote Destinations will always ring, regardless of whether the TCT device is registered or not. A Mobile Identity will not ring when the TCT device is registered to CUCM. This is especially important as you don't want the cellular phone and the wifi phone app contending for the user to click answer on both on the same device. You may still want to use RDP if the user has a home office in addition to their smartphone.

• I would like to know which apple server dictation connects to so that my proxy server will stop blocking it. Which apple server does it connect too?

I would like to know which apple server dictation connects to so that my proxy server will stop blocking it. Which apple server does it connect too?

I would presume so, but it might be worth your while to experiment and play around with different combinations to see if you can block FaceTime while keeping Game Center open. Good luck!

• The server did not finish checking the license compliance. If the server is joined to a domain, make sure that the server can connect to a domain controller. If the license compliant check cannot be completed, the server will automatically shut down in 0

i need a help. I am new in company and have to solve this problem.
My colleague did a migration from Small Business server 2003 to Foundation 2008, about 1 year ago. After few days, he got this error message in title. Server turn off about once a month. He worked following:
joined new server Foundation to the Domain
dcpromo on new Server
migration (he said that he worked step-by-step with tutorial)
demote on old Server SBS 2003
disconnect old server from domain. This old is not in function now.

• Windows Server 2012 Foundation, in a Workgroup - "The server did not finish checking the license compliance. If the server is joined to a domain, make sure that the server can connect to a domain controller"...

Every few days we see two dialogs with the following messages:
Dialog 1, title: Check for Licensing Compliance is Incomplete
The server did not finish checking the license compliance. If the server is joined to a domain, make sure that the server can connect to a domain controller.
Dialog 2, title: Check for Licensing Compliance is Incomplete
The server did not finish checking the license compliance. If the server is joined to a domain, make sure that the server can connect to a domain controller. If the license compliance check cannot be completed, the server will automatically shut
down in 8 day(s) 23 hour(s) 0 minute(s).
The server is not (and never has been) joined to a domain or had any DC roles installed. In fact its still connected to the default Workgroup.
The server was configured in our office and never showed this message until it was installed on site. The main difference from what I can see is that when installed on site it was given a static IP address and does not have any DNS settings in the network
adapter properties.
I have scoured a number of forums on this error but in almost every other instance of this error message the servers are connected to a Domain Controller and the solutions generally are linked to dis-joining and rejoining the domain. Unfortunately this is
not an option for this scenario.
I initially thought that adding some relevant DNS server IP address may resolve the issue, however, we have the exact same model server configured exactly the same running at a different site that does not experience this problem. This server also has no
DNS server configured.
I have seen a post that suggests turning off the servers "Foundation Checking", but I'm unsure how to do this.

Thanks for your response Vivian.
I can confirm that this server is not (and never has been) a member of any active directory, it is configured as a Workgroup server. It was initially configured on a network that does have an active directory, but was never joined to it. During that time it
never displayed these messages.
The server was moved into production on a different site and network and setup with a static IP address. The site network does have its own active directory but the server was not joined to it. It is whilst on this new network that these messages began.
Since my original post DNS servers have been added and the Microsoft activation has been verified, however, the messages are still appearing.
There are only 2 user accounts configured on this server. The local admin account and another local admin user.
The remote desktop services roles have been installed but not yet configured. I don't think that has any bearing on this scenario though.
The description of this error in the above "Introduction to Windows Server 2012 Foundation" link states:
This error occurs when the server cannot finish checking the requirements for the root domain, forest trust configuration, or both. It usually happens when the server cannot connect to a domain controller. If the situation persists, the server will
shut down 10 days after the first time the compliance check failed. Each time this error message occurs, it will state the actual time remaining before the server will shut down. If you restart the server after it has shut down because of non-compliance, the
server will shut itself down again in 3 days.
The above description leads me to the following question - In a Workgroup environment, does the server still try to contact a domain controller to establish a level of trust? If this is the case could it be that the server can no longer see the initial DC
on its new network and this is what is triggering the messages?
Am I clutching at straws here?

password

Hi,
We have had several customers report this after installing DPM 2012 R2.
To get past the below error while scheduling reports to be mailed.
Reporting Services Server cannot connect to the DPM database.
To repair the configuration, follow steps for repairing DPM from DPM Setup Help.
ID: 3001
Perform the following steps as necessary:
1. Created a new local group called "DPMDBReaders$<DPMServerName>"
2. Created a new user called, "DPMR$<DPMServerName>" and added this user to DPMDBReader group that we created on step 1.
3. Open SQL management studio and add the DPMDBReaders$<DPMServerName group to Logins under Security in SQL Management Studio.
4. Modify the properties and under General – change the default database to the current DPMDB name.
5. Under User Mapping – select the current DPMDB name and check the db_datareader checkbox.
6. In SQL Management Studio, navigate to the Databases > DPMDB > Security > Users > and select the DPMDBReaders$<DPMServerName>" group.
Right-click the DPMDBReaders$<DPMServerName>" group and select properties. Under the
Securables section, click on Search. On the add objects dialog, click OK.
On the Select Objects dialog, click the Objects type, then check the
stored procedure checkbox. Browse and add the following two stored procedures
“Prc_MOM_Heartbeat_Get” and “prc_MOM_ProductionServer_Get”. Grant the Execute permission for both of the stored procedures added.
7. In SQL Reporting Services Configuration manager, under Report Manager URL - click on the link to open the portal (http://localhost/Reports)
i. Click on the DPMReoprts_GUID to open the DPM reports.
ii. Click on the DPMReporterDataSource
iii. On the poperties page, enabled "Credentials stored securely in the report server" on DPMReporterDataSource configuration page and added “DPMR$<DPMServerName>” user account that we created in step 2.
iv. tick "Use as Windows credentials when connecting to the data source."
v. Click ‘Test connection’ on the same page to verify whether it can connect successfully.
8. In SQL Reporting configuration manager - change the Service Account to use build-in account: Network Service
9. Reboot the DPM Server.
10. You should then be able to schedule e-mailed reports.
Please remember to click “Mark as Answer” on the post that helps you, and to click “Unmark as Answer” if a marked post does not actually answer your question. This can be beneficial to other community members reading the thread. Regards, Mike J. [MSFT] This

• DPM 2012 R2 Rollup 1 x64.. cant save scheduled report.. gives error: "Reporting services server cannot connect to the dpm database"

The error also has "to repair the configuration, follow steps for repairing dpm from DPM setup help ID: 3001
I tried the solution outlined here:
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/8be919ee-f358-47a4-9cc3-d23eb05d3f18/system-center-2012-r2-dpm-smtp-issue-reporting-services-server-cannot-connect-to-the-dpm?forum=dataprotectionmanager
and also the graphical depiction here: http://www.ms4u.info/2014/01/reporting-services-server-cannot.html
I tried these steps, but everytime i try to change it, it tells me:
"The permissions granted to user 'domain\userid' are insufficient for performing this action rsaccessdenied..
Nothing seems to work..
I thought if i went into sql management studio and made sure my userid had admin rights to the db it would work.. but i cant change it there (via integrated security).. i believe i need to login as SA, but i dont recall the password for SA, though it appears
i can change the SA password from within sql management studio.. i'm unsure if doing so will break DPM though or is even needed to fix the reporting integration issue..
Any thoughts on this?
Thanks

Using:
data source="servername\MSDPM2012";persist security info=False;initial catalog=DPMDB
I used the domain sqlservice account and test connection was ok.
However.. accessing reports still crashes in the MMC
Tech, the Universe, Everything: http://tech-stew.com
When i recreated the db.. i called it Reporting2 or similiar..
Then the reports folder i created called "Reports Folder"
Then datasource name "reports datasource"
The issue here is that the DPM reports in the reporting web interface are gone, since this is a new DB.. how do i redeploy them
Tech, the Universe, Everything: http://tech-stew.com
i went back into the sql reporting services area.. hit change db.. chose the original .. then back to the url.. went to the OLD reporting services folder and datasource.. added the connect string and now reporting area works.. so does scheduling..
Problem now solved
Tech, the Universe, Everything: http://tech-stew.com
Oops spoke too soon.. the first time i set it to do "status" as a schedule.. it seemed to work (clicked ok, no error).. went back and added an email notification..
Now i'm getting.. "an error occurred causing the reporting job to fail" "system files may be corrupt".
Seems to only occur if i try to add the email address portion
Tech, the Universe, Everything: http://tech-stew.com
rechecked the datasource.. i think there was an error in the connect string.. now everything seems to be working.. email notifications and all.

• How do I setup a php testing server that connects to my web host?

My web host (webhostingpad.com) has php on it. I need to setup a testing server that connects to this so I can test my site locally.
My questions are:
1. Do I set this up as a local network connection or an sftp (same as my remote)?
2. what information do I put in to make this work?

1024MB is enough to have 2 instances but You have to know what are going to be the requirements levels of those instances in order to check if your memory is enough.
The memory is a theme that relate Oracle SGA with RAM in the machine.
To have a second database server you have to make another installation in a different Oracle Home.
It is not the same to have 2 instances than 2 Oracle database servers.
Do you know what is the difference ?

Don't know if anyone is still having problems with this, but just in case...
I was getting a similar error. I had an Event Viewer record (It wasn't a Warning or an Error, just an Information) reading:You are running a version of Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (also called MSDE) that has known security vulnerabilities when used in conjunction with this version of Windows. To reduce your computer's vulnerability to certain virus attacks, the TCP/IP and UDP network ports of Microsoft SQL Server 2000, MSDE, or both have been disabled. To enable these ports, you must install a patch, or the most recent service pack for Microsoft SQL Server 2000 or MSDE from http://www.microsoft.com/sql/downloads/default.asp
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I installed SQL SP4 and it corrected the problem

• CF8 & MSDE SQL Server DSN Connection Error SOLVED!!!

Getting the following error trying to add a CF DSN to SQL
Server?
Connection verification failed for data source:
datasource_name
java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC
Driver]Error establishing socket to host and port: localhost:1433.
Reason: Connection refused: connect
The root cause was that: java.sql.SQLException:
[Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Error establishing socket to
host and port: localhost:1433. Reason: Connection refused: connect
There are several steps in order to make ColdFusion 8 and
MSDE SQL 2005 Server
1. TCP/IP is not enabled by default. When looking in SQL
Server Configuration Manager it appears TCP/IP is enabled by there
is a second place that it has to be enabled.
2. The TCP/IP port is dynamically assigned each time the
service is started, if they are no errors it the port number stays
the same but if there is an error the port number is dynamically
changed the next time the service starts.
3. You have to add your dsn login username and password to
the database in order to connect without using the sa username and
password.
Steps to get DSN setup correctly.
1. Open SQL Server Configuration Manager
2. Expand the SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration Group
3. Click on Protocols for SQLEXPRESS
4. Right click TCP/IP in the right pane and select properties
5. On the protocol tab under enabled set to yes and apply.
6. Disable dynamic port assignments by following the
instruction below:
If enabled, the default instance of the Microsoft SQL Server
Database Engine listens on TCP port 1433. Named instances of the
SQL Server Database Engine and SQL Server Compact Edition are
configured for dynamic ports, which means they select an available
port when the SQL Server service is started. When connecting to a
named instance through a firewall, configure the Database Engine to
listen on a specific port, so that the appropriate port can be
opened in the firewall.
To assign a TCP/IP port number to the SQL Server Database
Engine
In SQL Server Configuration Manager, in the console pane,
expand SQL Server 2005 Network Configuration, expand Protocols for
<instance name>, and then double-click TCP/IP.
In the TCP/IP Properties dialog box, on the IP Addresses tab,
several IP addresses appear, in the format IP1, IP2, up to IPAll.
One of these are for the IP address of the loopback adapter,
127.0.0.1. Additional IP addresses appear for each IP Address on
the computer. Right-click each address, and then click Properties
to identify the IP address that you wish to configure.
If the TCP Dynamic Ports dialog box contains 0, indicating
the Database Engine is listening on dynamic ports, delete the 0.
In the IPn Properties area box, in the TCP Port box, type the
port number you wish this IP address to listen on, and then click
OK.
In the console pane, click SQL Server 2005 Services.
In the details pane, right-click SQL Server (<instance
name>) and then click restart, to stop and restart SQL
Server.
7. Open Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio Express
8. Connect to your local copy of SQL Server
9. Expand the Security group
10. Right click login. Select new login.
12. Enter the dsn login name you want.
11. Choose SQL Server Authetication.
12. Enter the dsn password you want twice.
13. Disable user must change password at next login
14. Choose default database if you like.
15. Click User Mappings in left pane.
16. Click databases you want login to have access to.
17. Click ok.
You should now be able to add your CF DSN using localhost for
server and the port number you put in earlier. Default port number
is 1433.
You can view which port number SQL is listening to at this
registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft SQL
Server\SQLEXPRESS\MSSQLServer\SuperSocketNetLib\Tcp
tcpport
You can test connectivity to the sql server by typing telnet
localhost 1433 or the port number you selected at a command prompt.
You should get a blank screen not an error.
Hope this helps, I spent 3 hours figuring it out.
David

I'm running into the same error with CFMX 7 and SQL 2000. The
port is set correctly (1433) in SQL, but it just can't communicate
successfully. SQL reside on a seperate server. Any thoughts?
