Server on I-Photo on macbook pro will not recognize my ID, password combination?

Server on I-Photo on my MacBook Pro will not recognize my ID/Password combination

Details help - is this trying to sent email? What version of iPhoto? Of the OS?
The general answer is
in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences

    Hi cterry66,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand you would like to reset the user account password on your computer but do not know the original password. If you set up your Apple ID with that user account, you can use that Apple ID to reset your OS X user password. Please use the information provided in the attached article to complete the process.

  • Since I installed the last Mavericks update, my MacBook Pro will not recognize my Nook ebook reader

Since I installed the last Mavericks update, OS 10.9.2, my MacBook Pro will not recognize my Nook ebook reader.  Maybe it's a coincidence; maybe not.  Any ideas?

Check the Barnes & Noble or Nook websites to see if there are any Nook driver or software updates for OS X Mavericks.

  • My 2010 13" MacBook Pro will not recognize or start a DVD or a utility CD. It will play a music CD

My 2010 13" MacBook Pro will not recognize or start a DVD or a utility CD or boot up from either TechTools Pro or DiskWarrior. I tried to just install these on the computer with the computer running and it will do the same. When pressing the C key to start from the disc, it still does not accept it. It will cycle several times then reject disc.
It will play a music CD.
    OS 10.6.8
    CD/DVD Player.
    Ideas?
    Thanks,
    Fijim

    Thanks for the reply!
I had set up an appointment at my local Apple store previously so they could reinstall Mavericks, so I just went in a little early, showed them the error message, and they determined that it just needed to be reformatted. I didn't have anything on there that I needed, since I hadn't accessed it for a few years, so we wiped the drive, reformatted and now I have my back-up.
    I appreciate the suggestions

  • Macbook Pro will not recognize my external hard drive

I just updated to a newer MacBook Pro.  I ran Time Machine on my old Macbook from a 2TB external USB hard drive.  When I hooked the hard drive to my new Mac, it wouldn't allow me to select it as the drive for Time Machine.  So I dismounted the hard drive and hooked it back to my old macbook to see if it still registered there (which it did).  Now when I try and hook the hard drive to my new macbook, it will not recognize it at all.  First question, why will it not recognize my new macbook, and second question, why does Time Machine not recognize the hard drive?  It has my old time machine files on it...hopefully I don't have to reformat it and lose all my backup??

My hard drive is now connected.  But Time Machine will not let me select the hard drive as my back up drive. This hard drive was used on another Macbook, so Time Machine doesn't seem to recognize the hard drive on the new one.  Do I need to reformat the hard drive? I hate to do that because I have the previous backups on there.

  • My Macbook pro will not recognize external devices

My MacBook Pro will not recongize external devices such as hard drives

I know that is of no help, but I have the same problem with a Toshiba harddrive. My wifes Macbook Air recognizes it. No problem with the hd I guess. But my macbook pro won't show it in the Finder, About this mac or disk utility - even though it is running. I would also be glad to get a solution to this.

  • Macbook pro will not recognize startup password

my macbook pro  ( one month old)is running the latest yosemite and suddenly will not recognise my startup password. after trying a few times it does not give me option to use my apple id to change the password. It just jitters and doesn't start up. How do I recover.

First, make sure caps lock is not on.
Another reason why the password might not be recognized is that the keyboard layout (input source) has been switched without your realizing it. At the login screen, you can select one of the available layouts by choosing from the flag menu in the upper right corner, if it's showing, or cycle through them by pressing the key combination command-space or command-option-space. See this support article.
If the user account is associated with an Apple ID, and you know the Apple ID password, then maybe the Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password. In OS X 10.10 and later, this option also works with FileVault, but only if you enabled it when you activated FileVault. It's not retroactive.
Otherwise*, start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities window appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar at the top of the screen—not from any of the items in the OS X Utilities window.
In the window that opens, type this:
    resetp
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window opens. Close the Terminal window to get it out of the way.
Select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected. You won't be able to do this if FileVault is active.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Follow the prompts to reset the password. It's safest to choose a password that includes only the characters a-z, A-Z, and 0-9.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.
You should now be able to log in with the new password, but the Keychain will be reset (empty.) If you've forgotten the Keychain password (which is ordinarily the same as the login password), there's no way to recover it.
*Note: If you've activated FileVault, this procedure doesn't apply. Follow instead these instructions.

  • My new Macbook Pro will not recognize my iphone in itunes...

I just bought a new Macbook Pro and was able to get all my files and such from my old computer, which was a Macbook about 4 years old. But the problem now is that when I plug in my iphone to the new computer it will not recognize the phone in my itunes. I authorized the computer for my itunes account and everything is updated I'm pretty sure... so how can I get my new computer to "accept" my iphone?

  • My new macbook pro will not accept my wep password

I'm trying to connect my new macbook pro to my wireless Century Link Router and it will not accept the exact same password that my PC uses.  What am I doing wrong?

I read that WEP is "broken"
It's "broken" as in "insecure". It's not useless, but, these days, it's the next thing to useless.
you should use either WPA or WPA2
Absolutely. As the KB article indicated by Linc Davis says
"Do not use WEP unless it is the only Wi-Fi security type that your device supports, and be aware that it is now very unsecure."

  • HT1492 My new macbook pro will not recognize my password

I opened my macbook pro 13.3 last nightt for the first time, when I went to shut down it asked for my password. I entered what I thought was the same password I have for my other coomputer. This morning it won't recognize it. I must have made a keystroke error but there is no way to change  it. I can't get beyond the user picture, Shouldn't I have a secodn chance, It's very unforgiving.

  • Help! I dropped my external HD and now my Macbook Pro will not recognize the drive. I have tried to repair the disk and that does not work. Please offer help, suggestions, something!

I dropped my external HD on my hard tile floor and now the drive is not working properly. I have tried a repair in Disc Ultilies with First Aid with no such luck. It started to work then I got a message "Filesystem verify or repair failed" about 3-4 minutes into the first aid repair disk. When I plug in I get the disk you inserted was not readable by this computer message. Please I need help on restoring this drive!
Its a simple tech pro drive 1TB.

Unfortunately, a drive that has been mechanically damaged by a drop and can't be repaired using Disk Utility probably can't be fixed any other way either. The best you can hope for is to salvage as much data from the drive as possible using one of the data recovery utilities linked below, and then replace the drive.

If you can't recover your most important data using one of these utilities, the only remaining hope is a data recovery service, which is very likely to cost $1000 or more for a 1TB drive.

  • My macbook pro will not recognize my Seagate external hard drive.

Last night it was working fine, but I noticed that  every time I plug in my hard drive there is a bunch of files in my trash bin.  I tried to delete them and my trash bin goes into the negatives and never stops.  I tried dragging those files from the trash bin into the shredder on mackeeper, but that did not work.  I then gave up on trying to delete the files and went to bed.  I woke up and now my hard drive does not work.  It still glows but nothing comes up on the screen.  I plugged it in my brothers computer which is windows and it recognized it (It started to install the hard drive on his computer, so I stopped it).  I also recently removed programs/ applications like ichat, garage band,  and other applications that I never used on my computer.  Just wondering what I need to do to get this to work because all my school stuff is on the hard drive.  And I tried a new cable and it still does not show up.  Please help.
I guess never mind, literally 25 seconds after I posted this message, all of the sudden it recognized my hard drive.  I hope it does not take this long for it to recognize it everytime I use my computer.

I suggest you delete Mackeeper and do not use the Mackeeper uninstaller.  Look at some of the discussions on this forum and you will understand that it is at best a nuisance and at worst malware that has a negative impact on the performance of your MBP.  Here are instructions that you may use to get rid of it:
