Server responds with error, only Birthdays calendar appears

I am part of the MobileMe Calendar Beta. I just tried to open iCal on my iMac, however, and received this message: "The server responded with an error. The server did not recognize your user name or password for account “[my account name].” Make sure you enter them correctly."
And only my Birthdays calendar appears in iCal (which is synced to my Address Book), none of my other ones do. Everything looks fine with my MobileMe login though in System Preferences. Temo S. at MobileMe chat support was of no help in fixing this problem, telling me "Since this is a Beta release we do not troubleshoot it directly. Please provide feedback at the link." Fabulous.

Ok I solved this for myself by
1. Changing the preferences in iCal which had lost my password for the "push" data etc. Go to iCal in the menu bar then preferences. and make sure your mobileme username and password are present.
In the process I also did some basic maintenance as I started trying to use the excellent fruux (free sync tool) and repaired permissions and did some keychain first aid to help my passowords.
Now it all works fine

  • Server respondes with error

My iCal keeps throwing up this message:
"The server responded with an error.
The server did not recognize your user name or password for account “[email protected]” Make sure you enter them correctly."
The problem is that I can't figure out where it wants me to enter them. I have no trouble getting my mail at that address, so I don't imagine it has anything to do with my mail set up.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Martin,
Check iCal>Preferences...>Accounts, and delete the MobileMe CalDAV account (-). Then add ( + ) your MobileMe account, and enter the correct information.

  • Calendars won't open.  Error message says "Server responded with error 403".  Happening on all 4 of my calendars

Neither "Try Again" nor "OK" do anything. The box just comes back again.  I can't do anything with my calendars at all except "quit".
I only recently installed Mavericks. Not sure if I had the problem before or after though as I've had it a week or two.

    Welcome to the forums!
The problems are caused by third party input managers/enhancers that have not yet been updated by their developers to comply with the standards used by Safari 3.2.1. and/or Safari 4.
    In your case these are:
    0x562000 - 0x563ffc +com.yourcompany.ct_loader 1.2.1.1 (1211) <c69df1f73a3a7d0eb07addc8074a77a9> /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader/ctloader.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ctloader
    0xb149000 - 0xb1dafff +com.conduit.cttoolbar 1.2.1.1 (1211) <350bc3caaba3cf42aca71652c5da4189> /Library/Application Support/Conduit/Plugins/cttoolbar.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ct_plugins
You fill find them in one or either of these folders:
    Home/Library/Input Managers
    Hard Disk/library/Input Managers
    Hard Disk/Library/Application Support
although the exact location is indicated in your crash report as quoted above - look under 'Binary Images'.
Close Safari and delete them, then restart Safari and it should be working normally. Alternatively drag them to the desktop and restart Safari. then add them back one at a time, restarting Safari every time, until you find the one (or more) causing the crash.
Check with the developers of the plug-ins in question for updates that are Safari 4 compliant.

  • MY calendar screen on my MacBook Pro is locked up will not let me close. "The server responded with an error" I have tried force quit, and shutting of the computer.

My MacBook Pro 15in mid 2010 4gb 1067, 2.4gighertz i5, os 10.9.5 has locked up the calendar screen displays "The server responded with an error" and will not let me exit the msg or the screen I can use the rest of the computer.  I have turned of the computer, force quit and other things.  I tried to send a Calendar by email

I tried your suggestion but it did not work (hold shift down when re-launching calendar). Here is the message I keep getting. Help - this endless loop prohibits me from accessing any calendar functions.

Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Stop when the problem is resolved. Back up all data before making any changes.
    Step 1
In the Internet Accounts preference pane, delete any calendar accounts you don't use.
If there's no improvement, delete all calendar accounts and add them back. With an iCloud account, all you have to do is uncheck and recheck the box marked Calendars & Reminders in the iCloud preference pane.
    Step 2
You may be trying to access an invited event that you declined, or one that was rescheduled after you accepted it. The error message should give you a clue as to what it is. If the calendar is on iCloud, you can bring up the Calendar on the website and select
              Show Declined Events
from the popup menu with the gear icon in the upper right corner of the page. The declined events will appear in gray, and one of them should match what's shown the error message. [Credit for this solution to ASC member Psi.]
    Step 3
If you get the error when trying to accept an invitation in an email attachment, it's because the organizer didn't properly create the event.
    Step 4
Follow the instructions in this support article. Modify as necessary for a calendar that's not on iCloud.

After enabling iCloud, the calendar on my MacBook shows a window stating "moving calendar to server account. Then a box appears saying "server responded with an error message 403. Then another box shows "couldn't move calendar to iCloud, an error occurrre

iCloud's Calendar is full of errors and problems for me.  The "Couldn't move your calendars to iCloud because an error occurred" is now gone (by itself) but nothing syncs between my Mac's Calendar to iCloud or my iPhone to iCloud.
I tried creating a new event directly on iCloud.com to see whether it pushes to any of my device and  got this "This event couldn't be created because of a server error; please try again." error.
    Apple, please fix this!!

  • Any fix ? "The server responded with an error" in Calendar

Is there any fix for this problem ?

  • "The server responded with an error" - Calendar

I get the error message "The server responded with an error" every five minutes from the calendar app, along with the following:
"The URL https://calendar.google.com/calendar/dav/[my e-mail is here]/user/ encountered HTTP error 404. Make sure the URL is correct.
I used to sync a google calendar but deleted it because I don't use it anymore. I just want the error message to go away.
    Thanks for your help!

My use case is slightly different; we still use our google calendar inside "iCal", and we got the same error text.
Not sure whether this will solve it longer-term, but I simply deleted the Google account from Calendar / Accounts...  and then re-added it. After ~20 minutes, the pop-up has not popped up, so I'm calling this 'success' for now.
    Here's how:
In Calendar on the Mac, choose Calendar / Accounts... ( this will open System Preferences / Internet Accounts )
Find the Google account which is syncing its calendar to iCal
Select it (click) and then remove it by clicking the minus icon [ - ] below the list of accounts. Read and confirm that you're removing the account. It's your choice.
Close (quit) Calendar if you have not already closed it. This may not be necessary, but I quit the application just the same.
Back in Internet Accounts, click the [+] to add a new account. Choose Google.
Enter your Google account name and password. Choose Calendar and un-check any that you do not want.
Re-open Calendar and the google calendars should re-sync and display as expected. If you chose any custom colors, you may need to reset them according to your preferences.
I hope this helps. Good luck!

  • OMacbook calendar gets the message "the server responded with an error" and is now not syncing. Any idea?

I haven't done anything to my Macbook (I don't think) but out of the blue when adding entries to my calendar,  I now get the message "the server responded with an error". Consequently it will not sync with the Cloud. I have an iMac which DOES sync with both iPad and the iPhone.
    Anyone any idea?
    ALan

Sorry, no help there. Ical does not stay open long enough to do anything with. All it does is crash and apologise and say it will notify Apple.
Guess I will just delete it altogether and use google calendar.

  • Problem sharing calendar - "The server responded with an error"

I'm trying to share a single calendar that contains a lot of entries of meeting rooms at our local library.  I want to share them through MobileMe via an RSS feed.
When I right-click on the calendar name I get the error in the attached image.  I'd be grateful for a solution or someone to tell me what I'm doing wrong.  Thanks in advance.

    me too:
When I open Calender I get a message saying, "The Server Responded with an Error. The request for account “iCloud” failed.  The server responded with “403” to operation CalDAVAddCalendarQueueableOperation."
MacBook Pro 13" with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.2)
I did the iCloud sync at Genius Bar (HK)...... the sync took forever for 1+ hour..... have to quit the process for I've another appointment....

  • When opening the Calendar app, I am greeted with a box that says "This calendar can not be refreshed."  After clicking on "OK" another box pops up saying "The server responded with an error."  How can I get rid of these?

When opening the Calendar app, I am greeted with a box that says "This calendar can not be refreshed," and after clicking ok there is another box saying "The server responded with an error."  How do I get rid of this.  The calendar functions all right, but just have to close both of those boxes after doing any action in the calendar app.

Please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried, until the problem is resolved. Back up all databefore making any changes.
    Step 1
From the Calendar menu bar, select
    Calendar ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts
Choose the affected account from the list on the left and uncheck the box marked
    Enable this account
Then check the box again. Test.
    Step 2
Make a note of the account settings, then delete the account and add it back with the same settings.
    Step 3
If you can't add the account, the settings may be invalid. Verify them. How you do that depends on what kind of account it is. If it's a Google calendar and you've activated 2-step verification, you need to generate an application-specific password in your Google account and enter it in place of your old password.
    Step 4
Quit Calendar. Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Calendars/Calendar Cache
Right-click or control-click the highlighted line and select
    Services ▹ Reveal
from the contextual menu.* A Finder window should open with a file named "Calendar Cache" selected.
Move the selected file to the Trash. There may be one or two other files in the same folder with names that begin in "Calendar Cache". If so, delete those files too.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar, paste into the box that opens (command-V). You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • HT4968 Calendar is locked on my Mac. I keep getting the message "The server responded with an error: Access to iCloud is not permitted. The server responded 403 to operation caldavmigrate to server queue able operation." How do I resolve?

Calendar is locked on my MAC.
I keep getting the message" The server responded with an error: Access to icloud is not permitted. The server responded 403 to oepration caldavmigrate to server queueable operation."
    How do I recify?

We previously had a similar issue when migrating multiple accounts from MobileMe to iCloud.  The issue was resolved by disabling and then enabling iCal sync through iCloud on our iMacs in System Preferences.
Always backup your calendar before troubleshooting (File > Export > iCal Archive).
The following steps are roughly from a Apple Support Community discussion.
    Open iCloud in System Preferences.
Switch off (uncheck) iCal sync in iCloud System Preferences pane.
Backup iCal before doing this. You will need to remove calendar data.
Open iCal and verify the iCloud account is removed in the iCal preferences under accounts.
Close iCal, reopen System Preference and switch on (check) iCal sync in iCloud System Preferences pane.
Reopen iCal and verify the iCloud account is enabled in the iCal preferences under accounts.
At this point if the problem persists you might try completely signing out of iCloud and then signing back in. But remember to backup all related data (iCal, Contacts, Mail, Photostream, etc) before turning off iCloud sync!

  • I recently had to have a migration done. Since then I keep getting a message on my calendar: "The server responded with an error."   Its been asking me to check my ID and password, which I did not change.  What do I do to correct the problem?

I recently had to have a migration done on my Mac Desktop. Since then I keep getting this message on my MacBook regarding my calendar: "The server responded with an error."   Its been asking me to check my ID and password, which I did not change.  What do I do to correct the problem?

That's probably the MobileMe or iCloud password.
Go to System Preferences > Mobile Me (or iCloud).  If you're not logged-in, do so.  If you are, log out and back in again.

This information, which I highlighted in red, shows up on a separate page from and above the calendar page, and is half the width of the standard page; and repeats all the three times on the page. I cannot close ical without force quitting. I cannot access ical preferences as suggested in another answer to a similar problem, because the "separate page" remains dominant. I tried ridding the computer of the calendar plist, that did not work. I cannot discard ical because the computer will not allow me to trash. I am really befuddled.
Fortunately, it only affects ical on my MacBook Pro running 10.9.2- it has not affected my iPad or iPhone, both running ios 7.2... they seem to be syncing with iCloud correctly. Anyone had this animal in their zoo lately?

I read another response to a similar question posted a couple of years ago. I turned off the Wifi, restarted iCal offline, and that eliminated the message. However, as soon as I turned on the Wifi the message again appeared, the app froze requiring a Force Quit, and the game is still afoot. NO SOLUTIONS ANYONE?
