SERVER SERVICE AUTOMATICALLY STOPPED

Dear Sir/Madam,
   I had started service "BLOCK LEVEL BACKUP ENGINE SERVICE" AFTER RESTARTING SERVER ITS WORK FINE THEN THIS
SERVICE STOP AUTOMATICALLY AFTER TAKING BACKUP. PLEASE GIVE SOLUTION FOR THIS.
THE ERROR WAS  "THE SERVICE DID NOT RESPOND TO THE START OR CONTROL REQUEST IN TIMELY FASHION "

Hi,
As Ed said, if Backup is working fine, it is not an issue as some services will be stopped automatically when it is not needed.
If it is not the case, I assume the current situation is that "you have to reboot the server to start the service Block Level Backup Engine Service so that you can perform a new backup".
If I'm correct, please go to Services.msc - find the service Block Level Backup Service Engine and go to Properties.
On Log On tab, replace Log On as Local System Account to Log On an administrator account. Enter the password as well and click OK.
Then perform a reboot to see if issue still exists.

  • SQL Server services having stop

    We're using SQL server 2008 r2 but having lot of issues. My application running on SQL server but it stop everyday. SQL services stop then my application automatic hang then i restart the server then after my application work.

    Hi harigaurav,
    If SQL Server Services stop regularly every day, then you can check the Start Mode for the services in SQL Server Configuration Manager, check the Windows Scheduler or use some monitor tools to monitor SQL Server services status.
    If SQL Server Services always stop unexpectedly, we can configure SQL Server Agent to restart the SQL Server and SQL Server Agent services automatically. To configure automatic service restart:
    Open the SQL Server Management Studio Management folder, right-click the SQL Server Agent entry, and select Properties.
    On the General page, select the Auto Restart SQL Server If It Stops Unexpectedly check box.
    Here, you should also select the Auto Restart SQL Server Agent If It Stops Unexpectedly check box.
    Click OK.

  • Shared Services Service Automatically Stops

    Hi,
    The Shered Services Service "Hyperion SharedServices9 WL81" is getting stopped automatically. When i start this service and then go to the essbase server to start the essbase service "Essbase Service", it starts and stops automatically.
    When i see the essbase logs, below is the message that i get :
    "Analytical Services Product Existence Check Fails against the Shared Services Server with Error [Unable to connect to Shared Services, make sure the Shared Services server is running and try again.]"
    The shared services service mentioned above gets stopped automatically when i start it manually. Please suggest on how to start the shared services service mentioned above so that it does not stop by itself.
    Thanks.
    Amogh

    I take it used to work, if so has anything changed?
    Is there something already running on port 58080?
    It may even be worth rebooting the machine to see if it clears any port issue.
    Cheers

  • HyS9EPMServer service automatically stops after starting

    Dear All,
    I m presently facing some issue with Hyperion EPM Server - Web Application (HyS9EPMServer service). I made a compact installation of HFM 11.1.2.2 components only (as advised on Oracle manuals).
    I m starting the services as normal, this particular service is not starting as expected, unexpected not working.
    And also please note after several issues, I made 2nd time installation of HFM only (1st installation I did full EPM suite, where I was able to login all applications but unexpected configuration got dropped, so gone for re installation)
    Please let me know if you would like to know any more details. And My diagnostics log says, "check the application is started" for all webpage app links on red color.

  • Email alert if SQL Server Services stop abruptly

    Hi,
    I am a SQL Server DBA and I am currently working on setting up email alerts in case if SQL Server services stop abruptly.I have currently written a VB script which runs every 1 hr and checks if a SQL Server Service is running or not. This VB Script runs
    with the help of Windows Task Scheduler.In case if a SQL Server service has stopped, this VB script immediately sends an email via. SMTP Server.
    Please let me know if this is a good solution or is there any other better solution or is there any feature available in SQL/windows using which the same can be achieved.

    SQL 2008 R2
    OS: Windows Server 2008

    I have a 2008 R2 Server where the LS communication Server Service is stopping unexpectedly. It's restarting ok it seems, but the issue is resulting in the server not working as intended.
    The service usually shows as Running in the Services Management Console. However if you watch it in Task Manager you can see it stopping and then restarting. It does this every minute or so.

    There is no Lync Server section under Applications and Services Logs. There is an LS Applications, however there aren't any events underneath it.
    From what I can tell, Lync isn't installed on this server. The LS Communication Server service along with 3 other LS services (Config Download Service, Linkage Server, & PTZ Tour Server). The role of this server is that of an HVR. It's designed to interface
    with video recording devices and record that video. It's unable to do so.

  • Why is the Server service paused?

    Trying to network my T43 laptop running Win XP, SP2, all updates current.
     Using Norton firewall, which has been adjusted so T43 can print on the desktop
    printer as well as send files to the desktop's shared folder.
    On startup the Server service is being "paused" and therefore other
    computers on local wireless network cannot get to files on this computer.  I
    have reviewed everything I can think of but am unable to determine where this
    command is really coming from.
    Can anyone offer suggestion on what to try?  (I did turn off Norton firewall
    and activated Windows firewall but had same result.)

    In other words, everything here seems to be set up as expected.  The service
    does in fact start.  Something else is stopping it.  Finding out what process
    sends the Pause command is not so easy.  Any kind of trace or debug I can
    impose on startup to see where this might be coming from?

    I have had this problem too, and I resolved it.
    Normaly network connections in your IBM / Lenovo computer is managed by third part software called IBM / Lenovo Access Connections. Service is paused because of security settings in one or more of your connections profiles who is managed by this software. To resolve it, you need to enable file and printer sharing in your location profile managed by software mentioned above.
    I have an old ThinkPad T43, so instrucions bellow is for an old IBM Access Connections.
    To resolve this, do the following:
    1) Open "IMB Access connections" ;
    2) then click on "Manage Location profiles...";
    3) in "Manage Location profiles" window choose your default connection profile (what you are using everyday);
    4) double click on it (or click on button "Edit..." bellow);
    5) new window appears; in this window there is many tabs;
    6) choose "Security" tab (to find it, you may use horizontal arrow buttons in the right up corner in this window);
    7) then tick off an option "Disable file and printer sharing" (option should be clear!);
    6) click "OK";
    7) read bellow ***
    8) click "Close";
    9) restart your PC (to make sure all is ok).
    *** You should apply these instructions (from 1 to 7) for ALL your "IBM Access Connections" / "Lenovo Access connections" profiles, if you do not want allow them to manage your files and printer sharing security. As result Server service automatically will not pause in case of choosing another location profile - service will continue to work normally in all profiles.
    Good Luck!

  • SQL Server Service won't start on SQL Server 2008

    Hi everyone,
    I'm having trouble starting SQL Server service after stopping and starting the service. Before this happened, I created a Stored Procedure for marking all tables at once along with a maintenance plan for differential backup on all my databases based on the
    recommendation from this link, http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms253070.aspx.
    When I realized that the differential backup failed with some databases displaying (Restoring...) post-fix to the database name, I decided to stop SQL Server service and start it up. That is when I won't be able to start the service again.
    Is there a fix for starting the SQL Server service? Any help is very much appreciated.
    Additional information:
    - With administrator permission granted.
    - Service Pack 1 for SQL Server 2008 installed.
    - Using default database instance.
    - Tried C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL.....\Binn>net start MSSQLSERVER /T3608 ( return msg: System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied.
    - When I start SQL Server service, I keep getting this dialog msg:
    "Windowns could not start the SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) on Local Computer. For more information, review the System Event Log. If this is a non-Microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 1814."
    The event log does not explain or provide any hint on how to fix the problem.

  • How may I automatically stop and start Mail services at a set time please

    Hi folks. I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to automatically stop and start Mail services (or any other services) at a set time please in Leopard Server? Is there a script someone has created which might help?
    Cheers, David ( a realy newbie when it comes to administering OS X server)

    launchd works through a series of XML documents that define tasks to run, either at launch, on a time schedule, in response to network events, etc.
    So you'll need to create two .plists - one to start the mail server and one to stop it. They should be saved in /Library/LaunchDaemons. I'd suggest something like:
    /Library/LaunchDaemons/local.postfix.stop.plist:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple
    .com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
      <key>Label</key>
      <string>local.postfix.stop</string>
      <key>ProgramArguments</key>
      <array>
        <string>/usr/sbin/serveradmin</string>
        <string>stop</string>
        <string>mail</string>
      </array>
      <key>StartCalendarInterval</key>
      <dict>
        <key>Hour</key>
        <integer>1</integer>
        <key>Minute</key>
        <integer>00</integer>
      </dict>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    and /Library/LaunchDaemons/local.postfix.start.plist:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple Computer//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple
    .com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
      <key>Label</key>
      <string>local.postfix.start</string>
      <key>ProgramArguments</key>
      <array>
        <string>/usr/sbin/serveradmin</string>
        <string>start</string>
        <string>mail</string>
      </array>
      <key>StartCalendarInterval</key>
      <dict>
        <key>Hour</key>
        <integer>4</integer>
        <key>Minute</key>
        <integer>00</integer>
      </dict>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    You'll need to either use launchctl load /Library/LaunchDaemons/local.postfix.stop (or start) to load the tasks, or reboot your server.
    I'm curious, though, as to why you want to do this. Mail is typically one of the services that people want to run 24/7 so they don't miss out on any emails (even though SMTP can tolerate this). Why do you want to shut yours down?

  • Stopping sql server services while applying Service pack On SQL server 2008 and 2008 R2

    Hi,
    I am planning to apply service pack 3 for SQL 2008 R2 and Service pack 4 for SQL server 2008. This is my first time and I am applying first QA and DEV environment. I have one confusion. In cluster once you fail over sql resources to active node all of the
    sql services including SQLSERVER and Agent are automatically stopped in passive node where we apply service pack. But in Stand alone, The services are not automatically stopped. Do I need to manually  stop those services like SQLSERVER, Agent, Browser
    and others if any  before I start applying service pack?
    Early Response is highly appreciated.
    Thanks In Advance

    Hello,
    You don’t need to stop SQL Server services. Let SQL Server setup do it as needed.
    Please read the following article for the cluster you would like to update:

    I'll try to describe my situation. It happens very occasionally, but sometimes SQL Server service terminates unexpectedly. It's my log:
    09/13/2013 10:46:21,Service Control Manager,Error,The SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).  The following corrective action will be taken in 120000 milliseconds: Restart the service.
    09/13/2013 10:46:21,,Error,[359] The local host server is not running,,,,
    09/13/2013 10:46:22,MSSQLSERVER,Error,The MSSQLSERVER service terminated unexpectedly.,Server,1073760843,,
    09/13/2013 10:46:22,,Warning,[139] AutoRestart: Attempting to restart the MSSQLSERVER service (attempt #1)...,,,,
    09/13/2013 10:46:27,,Warning,[139] AutoRestart: Attempting to restart the MSSQLSERVER service (attempt #2)...,,,,
    09/13/2013 10:46:32,,Warning,[139] AutoRestart: Attempting to restart the MSSQLSERVER service (attempt #3)...,,,,
    09/13/2013 10:46:32,,Error,[140] AutoRestart: The MSSQLSERVER service could not be restarted after 3 attempts,,,,
    09/13/2013 10:46:32,,Warning,[360] SQLServerAgent initiating shutdown following MSSQLSERVER shutdown,,,,
    As you can see, SQL Server service  terminates unexpectedly. Then SQL Agent service tries to start SQL Server service. After unsuccessfully attempts to start SQL Server service, SQL Agent service stops itself. I have the option setting in SQL Server
    service to start itself after unexpectedly stop within 2 minutes and it is works well. But I have to start my SQL Agent service after this manually. Unfortunately, I can't investigate the reason of my SQL Server stops unexpectedly and in this case I just want
    to make the settings to start both of my services SQL Server and SQL Agent automatically after this.  How can I set up this? How can I make my SQL Agent service starts after SQL Server service?

    Hello,
    SQL server agent service depends on SQL server service so unless SQL server service comes online agent will not come online so agent is depended on SQL server not the other wise.
    Now is your server 2008 R2 patched to latest service pack (SP2).If not please upgrade it to latest SP.Some fixes are there in Sp which will subside this issue.Can you paste output of
    select @@version
    >>Then SQL Agent service tries to start SQL Server service.No this is not the case
    >>Unfortunately, I can't investigate the reason of my SQL Server stops unexpectedly
    Did you checked sql server errorlog and windows event log completely.Please do so and paste if you find some more info

    Hi Prathap,
    [Mon Dec 09 01:17:30 2013]Local/ESSBASE0///Error(1051429)
    Essbase Product Existence Check Fails against the Shared Services Server with Error []
    Above entries in Essbase.log tells that Essbase product entry was not found in Shared services.
    As you rebooted the server, you might have lost domain server logs, but I think you can get more info about root cause in Essbase.log or essbase related log files only.

  • JMC stops the Admin Server service

    Hello,
    We are using jrun 3.1 on a 2003 server. in the services
    window you start the jrun admin server service. it starts up just
    fine, but when you go and try to launch the jrun management console
    you get a page cannot be displayed. when you go check the service
    it has automatically stopped.
    i read somewhere when another person had the same problem and
    it was caused by the serial number being in lowercase and changing
    it to uppercase fixed it. but i checked the serial and it is all in
    uppercase.
    another idea someone mentioned is that some file got changed
    to binary instead of being in ascii? i don't know if its true or
    not.
    but if anyone has any ideas i would appreciate your
    input.

    i dont see any errors logs for this..
    The dialogue box says (visuap studio just in time debugger)
    when i try to start admin server service...
    "An unhandled win32 exception occurred in java.exe(<process id>)just in time debugging.this exception failed with the following error: No installed s\debugger has just-in-time debugging enabled.In visual studio,just in time debugging can be enabled from Tools/Options/Debugging/Just-In-Time."
    I have installed weblogic in June 1st week(MS visual studio was not installed on the box then) with no issues.everything was fine then,but a couple of days ago I was doing some domain configuration changes.then i had to restart admin server and thus found out this issue.
    So Iam wondering if I need to work with the person who had installed MS visual studio?
    Or anyone had similar issue and what u had to do to resolve this?please help me find the fix..Thanks
