Server Timings in MRP

Hi Gurus,
Iam put up @ India & my client is spread across the globe in 12 countries. But the common server is @ Asia Pacific(Singapore). Iam working for the Indian  location only.
Iam comming across lot of confusion in the form of dates & timings(of MRP run, PO closure times etc.) as the server is mapped to Asia Pacific timings.
Is there any way , i can view all my plannings in Indian time?
Best regards,
K.Kumar.

Dear Lili,
Personal time zone of the user is maintained as "INDIA" in SU3.
At present,
Time in server is 23.40.
Time in India is 11.45 AM.
Best regards,
K.Kumar.

  • Can we track server timings in e fusion

I need to add a countdown clock for today's deal and that clock should not be dependent to local machine timeings, I am using JavaScript to manage it but JavaScript function uses system time. Is their any way to get server time in an variable so that we can make our countdown clock independent with local system timings.

You have an expiry date for most things such as web apps and products which you have tags to render to be able to do things like countdowns. Depends on what your using but basically yes you have. And when hat date is reached the system will auto disable that item.

  • Auto MRP run

I have done to schedule MRP automatically. I have done this by using transaction MDBT.
    My question is:
But how will I come to know if the Background job is being scheduled? I mean I have done a trial in FR1 server , and in MRP lists i am not able to see any difference. New MRP lists are not generated. Can you tell exactly where can I see that the scheduled job is done successfully.

    Hi,
In MDBT only you can get the clour green if job is scheduled or running "in the sow scheduling tab"...you can see there status of the job like running, schedule OR finished.
after finishing you can check the MRP results from MD04/MD05 list for individual parts and MD06/MD07 at plant level MRP results evaluation.
Rewards your points and request you to do not post repeated queries.

  • No Save As box appears

We are using an MRP software package that when we create a report we want to export it to a PDF. This option was working fine up until April 20th.
We use to click on the Export icon in the report, get a box that says export to what-- we choose Acrobat (PDF), destination to disk.
than the Save As box would appear and we would put in the location to save it to, click ok, than Export options box would appear and we could choose all. (all pages or some of the pages). than the file would be exported into a PDF.
Now all we get is the first box (export to Acrobat(PDF)) and the third box (export option) we do not get the save as box. we don't know if the file is being save and if it is being saved, where is it being saved to and what the file name is.
On April 19th I upgraded Symantec Backup Exec (10d to 11d) on the same server that this MRP is on and the user that normally exports the files was out until this week so i did not find out about this issue until now.
has any one come across this same issue where the Save As box does not appear and can not find where (if) the file has been save to? if so, what did you do to correct it?
oh if we want to export the file to Excel or Cyrstal Report or any other application there is no problem, we get the save as box. it is only happening with Adobe. We had Adobe 6 on the server, so i upgraded to 7 and still have the issue. tonight i am going to upgrade to 8 and see if that helps out. however if anyone has any other suggestions or solutions i would greatly appreciate it.
Server is Windows 2003 Standard Edition SP2 w/ 3 gb memory.
    Thanks in advance.

    >the application does not seem to have "printer" properties.
You may need to change the default printer properties if you do have
    Adobe PDF.
    > i looked in my printers and faxes and i don't see adobe in it.
It may be that the software doesn't use Acrobat at all. It's quite
possible that it has a built in PDF creator that doesn't use any Adobe
    software.
Since you are posting in the Adobe Reader forum, it may be that you
have only Adobe Reader on the box. This has no PDF printer in any
    case.

  • Want to pick old files first (First In First Out  mode)

    Hi,
My scenario is File to Idoc Scenario getting multiple  files in batch mode  into  source FTP server. But  i want to pick which file has first loaded into ftp server that particular file only i want to process first.
my source file name doesn't contain any Timestamp value . but by considering the FTP server timings we  have to pick the file.
From the source I'm getting files like ( Jain_1.xml , Jain_2.xml ,Jain_3.xml.... ect...) so in my sender adapater i have mentioned that file name as Jain.xml*
For picking earliest file suggest me some solution.
for this how can achive this. and what are the things we have to do.
    Regards
    Jain

    Hi Jain,
I havent exactly tried doing this one. I used file*.txt once but i didn't need it to pick in any order. My scenario had to pick all the files...
but i found this for you.....
    File Adapter , Processing Sequence
    EDIT :
    picking files in Order?
Read the above link Jain. File adapter does not give a processing sequence for FTP protocol.
But it reads files in alphabetical order. So you have 2 choices.
1> Either use NFS to run your scenarios
2> Else rename your files to Jain_a.xml, Jain_b.xml, Jain_c.xml. This way they will be in alphabetical order and hence will be picked in the order you want.
If you want to rename your files dynamically at runtime. Look at the variable substitution concept.
    That can be found here...
    /people/jayakrishnan.nair/blog/2005/06/20/dynamic-file-name-using-xi-30-sp12-part--i
To learn more about it...just search with the string variable substitution in the forums and you will find answers.

  • DST changing

Database - 10.2.0.3 Two node RAC
    Storage - ASM
    OS - AIX 5.3L
We have DST enabled at OS level on both the nodes in RAC enviornment, because of which server timigs have gone one hour behind IST (Indian Standard Time). So we need to remove DST settings from OS level and bring server timings at IST. Kindly guide us in taking precautionary steps in doing this activity.
    Thanks in advance
    Amit

From CRS/RAC perspective, actually nothing in particular, other than making sure that timings on both the nodes are same(sync'd).
    Thanks

  • WCS 4.1.91 Guest User creation error

When I try to add a guest user using my LobbyAmbassador operator account, I consistently get an error stating "End date can not be older than start date".
The user is a limited life time, and we are trying to set end time using calendar, setting life to 48 hours basically. Just this week I upgraded to WCS4.1.91 and WLC4400's wo 4.1.185.0.
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi Darcy,
    It looks like you are hitting this bug;
    CSCsi79726 Bug
Creating scheduled user - message confusing -end date
Symptom:Cannot create scheduled guest users with the lobby ambassador because of error "the end date cannot be older than the start date"
    Conditions:version 4.1.83.0
    Workaround:Upgrade to version 4.1.91.0
Further Problem Description:The creation is failing because
of the difference between the server and the client times. Initially user UI's
are populated by considering server times and user selections are evaluated
against client timings. The lifetime calculated is invalid because of
difference between client and the server timings.
It looks like WCS 4.1.91 was supposed to fix this issue, so if it is still happening you should really open a TAC case :(
    Hope this helps!

  • Sales Order--PGI

    Dear Experts,
I have a critical issue regarding the document flow updates. we have created a sales order in which document flow is showing PGI date as 01/01/2010 in India. But when the same document other person is opening up at different location like France its showing 02/01/2010. Could you please tell me why this difference is their for the same sales order, how its possible and what all measure can rectify this.
    Help is really appreciated.
    Thanks a lot in advance.

    hi,
this is to inform you that,
please check the time difference between india and france.
basing on that you may come to conclusion on the same.
this timings depends on the server timings which will get populated on the right side of the system.
please check this and get back to me if you have any issues.
    regards,

  • Purchase Order is generated after MRP for Material with MRP Type ND

    Hi Everyone,
    Material type := HAWA
My material procurement type = F i.e. External Procurement.
MRP Type = ND in Production server , and VB in Quality
    Lot Size = EX
Material Status :- 15 Pre-release both for Quality and production server
The Material is bulk material and bulk material indicator is set.
Purchasing View is also maintained for the same.
Planning Strat = Z5 Company specific
Special procurement key:- Z7 Company specific
I am running MD02 with following parameters.
    Create Pur Req =1, PR
Create MRP List = 1, MRP List
Delivery Schedule = 3, Schedule Lines
Planning Mode = 2 Re- Explode BOM & Routing
    Scheduling = 1
    Issue:
After MRP run, system is  generating PR, Though with MRP type ND purchase requisition should not be generated.
Observation:- Looks like there is inconsistency of material date in Quality and production server.
When I tried to run the planning , The Error message was generated"Material status is set to pre- release.
After changing the material status to 20 (Active ) , when we run the MRP , The error message is generated "Material is not planned automatically "
We havent been able to locate the root cause so far
    Please guide us

IF the material is ND, system won't Run MRP for the material
Observation:- Looks like there is inconsistency of material date in Quality and production server.
    There is no link
When I tried to run the planning , The Error message was generated"Material status is set to pre- release. After changing the material status to 20 (Active ) , when we run the MRP , The error message is generated "Material is not planned automatically "
system will read the X plant  material status or plant specific material status first and then only system will read MRP type

  • Performance: Reports Builder versus Running on mid tier report server.

Folks are wondering why a report takes 15 minutes when running on the middle tier report server, paper layout, pdf output displayed via adobe, versus running the paper layout from a laptop within Reports Builder.
Any thoughts about the performance differences we now face with the 3 tier set up or suggestions on what we might tweak?

    hello,
unfortunately your post did not specify what the difference in performance is and whether you are connecting to the same database and what platform your deployment environment as oppsed to your dev environment is.
there are certainly some performance differences expected if the depoloyment platform is significantly different from the development paltform, but those differences should not be significant.
there are certain things that might cause performance differences (e.g. graphs in reports, using DISPLAY vs. DEFAULT_DISPLAY on unix platforms, etc.) so knowing a bit more about your platform would be helpful.
also it would be interesting to know if you see a similar degredation with other reports or even the test.rdf that comes with the product. last, but not least, have you tried to deploy your report to the OC4J that comes with the developer suite ? if so, do you see timings similar to the builder or more to your app server execution times ?
    thanks,
    philipp

  • Schedule line number determination - Schedule line category CP(MRP)

    Hello All,
I want to know on what basis schedule line numbers getting determined.
    Schedule line category: CP-MRP
Sales order line items getting confirmed based on the Planned order--> production order created through MRP run.
I have created sales order line item 1 with 100 quantities. for example I created today. RDD also today.
    3 production order created.
Those production orders confirmation date as below.
    Production order 1 - 60 quantities - 14.04.2014
    Production order 2 - 30 quantities - 16.04.2014
    Production order 3: 10 quantities - 18.02.2014.
There are four schedule lines for the line item 1.
All the 4 lines showed as per the confirmation date order.
But the schedule line numbers are not as per the above order.
    For example,
Schedule line number   ----- delivery date ----- Confirmed qty
    1.                                         09.04.2014            0
    3.                                         14.04.2014            60
    2                                          16.04.2014           30
    4                                          18.04.2014            10
On what basis this schedule numbers getting determined? Is there any standard procedure ?
Why schedule line numbers not inline with the confirmed date?
Let me know if you need more information.
    Thank you.
    Regards,
    Rakkimuthu C

    Hi,
Schedule line number is the number that uniquely identifies the schedule line .
Use When an item has more than one schedule line, the system automatically assigns a unique number to each line. The number is displayed in the details screens for schedule lines.
Note The schedule line number serves internal purposes and does not, for example, determine the sequence of schedule lines in the overview screen. The schedule lines on the overview screen are sorted by date.
The schedule line number will get created automatically by the system. I hope this will clarify your doubt. Thanking you.

    Yes - I'm using startx:
    [[ -z $DISPLAY && $XDG_VTNR -eq 1 ]] && exec startx
    .xinitrc:
    /usr/bin/xscreensaver -no-splash &
    xautolock -time 60 -locker "sudo pm-suspend" &
    xset -dpms s noblank
    xset b off
    exec mate-session
Excerpt of the system journal (doesn't look suspicious for me): I just booted, logged in (startx), switch to tty2 to refresh the screen on tty1 and rebooted.

  • MRP run in background - ONhold

    hi
Off late, the MRP background job scheduled weekly is taking a very long time. more than 4 hours and when i check the status in SM50, it shows the job shows status ON HOLD and reason as ARFC.
In SM66 , i can see the job is STOPPED.
But after a long interval it gets running and the job gets completed after several hours.
Can anyone please help me on this.
    Thanks and Regards
    Joe

    hello Christian,
what is the planning mode being used ?
If you have performance problems which cannot be corrected by other
measures (note: planning mode 3 is absolutely unnecessary, unreasonable and
can cause damage in productive operation), the above situation can be
avoided by a performance tuning modification.
    “ On-Hold – ARFC “.
That is due to Parallel processing  - one application server is waiting for the other server
Before planning of a new low-level code can be started in MRP, the previous  low-level code must have been planned completely.
Therefore, it may happen that only one server is working whereas the other
ones are waiting in order to then start planning of the next low-level
    code.
The described behavior may be extreme if some few materials make up the
    main load of the performance.
The situation becomes more probable if these materials succeed each other
in the planning file because they have very similar material numbers.
Example: 5 complex finished products whose material numbers are almost
identical make up 80% of the runtime of material requirements planning.
The performance statistics of the planning run shows that the tasks (or
application servers) were not utilized uniformly.

  • Can I set up a Mac Pro as a server using OSX Server for my current Windows-based office?

I have a small business, and our office currently has a Windows-based network.  I love my Mac and it's ease of use, and for now I have to use Remote Desktop to log on to my server, and then run my MRP/ERP business software from that.  Is there an Apple solution (Mac Pro?) for my server, where other users could run parallels to access the MRP/ERP software?  Thanks!

It is possible - even quite easy - to turn almost any current or recent model of Mac into a server by installing OS X Server. It is less clear, however, that this will do what you want.
What are the hardware and software requirements of your MRP/ERP software? If it will only run under Windows or any OS other than Mac OS X, then it will not work, and installing OS X Server will not change that.
You may be able to get the MRP/ERP software to run under Windows run on a Mac using Parallels or VMWare Fusion, but it would still be running under the Windows OS, just virtualized so that it runs inside the Mac OS. Thus it will not be any easier to use than your current system, and in fact may be harder, and might not work at all.
You could also run Windows under BootCamp, but again, while the Windows OS would be running natively, you lose any ease of use of the Mac OS.
    Best of luck.
