Server update for mavericks

Server software running extremely slow when trying to switch between services to manage.  Just updated yesterday to the latest version to run on mavericks and havent had a great start thus far....wondering why io updated at all!!!
any suggestions as to what maybe be wrong would be appreciated

I'm having the same issues on a Mid 2010 Mac Mini.  It is taking between 3 - 4 minutes just for Server to open now.  Words can't describe the feelings I have for this product right now.

  • OS X Server update for Mavericks

I have a Mac Mini with Lion Server (10.7).
I want to upgrade to Mountain Lion (10.8) and buy its OS X Server standalone app.
My question is: once Maverick will be out, will I need to buy again an upgrade of OS X Server for Mavericks?

We cannot predict what Apple will do this time around but the answer to that question for previous versions was something like ...
Yes.  Unless you bought 10.8 Server less than 30 days before the releasedate of Mavericks Server, in which case if you bought both 10.8 Server and 10.9 Apple will give you 10.9 Server you free.
This, of course, is not definite.

  • Customise software update for Mavericks only

I am working on building up my MiniServer to do more than just file sharing, the next thing that would be nice is to cache software updates for the multiple instances of the Mac OS I run. When I turn on Software update, I can't parse the updates that are only for Mavericks unless I sort by date and manually manage it. That is quite time consuming and being that I don't use any version before 10.9 and soon to be 10.10, no other updates are needed.
I ask because storage is a bit limited in my case and it would be easier to have the server auto-cycle through a 15GB cache of the latest updates for Mavericks instead of downloading everything from the beginning of time.
    Is that possible?

Software Update Server provides either full manual operations, or automatic operations.
Automatic operations fetch all updates, for all active OS X versions.
Short answer: Get more disk space.   Aim your Server.app service data at (for instance) some big external disk, via Server.app > select the server at the left column > Settings > select Edit to the right of Service Data.  That'll let you increase the size of your Caching Server caches, as well.

  • HT5361 Mail update for Mavericks 1.0 is repeatedly not installing.

I have tried to install the latest Mail update for Mavericks.  The update will not install  for me.  It appears to install, but never does.  Any solution?

How do you know it isn't installing? For reasons known only to Apple, the version of Mail doesn't change to 7.1 as an update normally does.

  • Updated latest update for maverick and am having issues

i updated this past weekend to the latest update for Mavericks. and cannot get past the system setting up screen. what can i do to get past this?

apologizes, the mac is intel, and the update was downloaded from apple. as I recall it asked me if I wanted to setup icloud, and I clicked later. then it started saying "setting your mac up.....".I let it go for a while, two times, thinking it needed more time. it did not take me to the desktop at all.
I just read  a discussion about reinstalling mavericks to repair what might have a snag. i also have a call into apple later when i get home.
can you elaborate on reinstalling the mavericks, for repair, without erasing the drive?

  • I have Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549) and there is free update for Maverick will I have problems since there were no free updates prior to this?

I have Mac OS X 10.6.8 (10K549) and there is free update for Maverick will I have problems since there were no free updates prior to this? I just do not want to loose any data. Thank you for your help.

you should always make a backup of data regularly, especially when upgrading to a higher version of OS X.  Just because it's free has no bearing on it giving anyone any problems.  The only concern you may have is not all older programs will work with 10.9 that do with 10.6.  Check here to see if you have any programs that would not run in 10.9: https://tidbits.com/article/12156

  • With HP update for Maverick my photosmart C309A does not work properly

After the HP-update for Maverick my printer HP Photosmart C309A does not work correctly. The scan facility is gone and the printer "hangs" after one print. I had to reset the printer software from a backup and to disable the automatic installation facility on my IMac. Shortly, very very very nasty. I hope this is the way for Apple to change this update into a good one. There is no other way to communicate with Apple then through the Community. I wander if Yosemite gives the same problems with printers.

    You are welcome.
Send Apple feedback. They won't answer, but at least will know there is a problem. If enough people send feedback, it may get the problem solved sooner.

  • HT6030 'Mail Update for Mavericks' destroyed my archived mail tree

    Hello,
I bought my MacBook 15' Retina last week and imported my Mail archive into my new Mac. The 'Mail Update for Mavericks' destroyed completely my archived mail tree. I need to remove all of it and import this again. A really poor update!!!

  • HT6030 Mail Bugs in latest update for mavericks 27/11/13

The latest mail update for mavericks seems to have a bug where you can continuously scroll down so the mail stream disappears. Usually you get the classic apple bounce but that seems to have dissappeared. Also you can't scroll within the preview of mail on the right of scree. Please fix!
    Anyone else notice this?

  • OS X Server Update services Mavericks update

We use OS X Server to manage profiles, caching, and software updates for our Macs. I updated the server from Lion to Mavericks and purchased the new server software. However, I don't see Mavericks in the list of available updates, so my clients cannot download it from our server. We'd prefer not to have each client downloading from the web to save bandwidth. Is there a way to force the Software Update to download the listing for this?

Sign out of the App Store and sign back in. Try to update again. If there's no change, you may be trying to update an app that was bought using another Apple ID. Check your purchase history to see whether the app is included. If it isn't, you will either have to sign in with the ID used to buy it, or else delete it and buy it again—and yes, you'll have to pay again.

  • How do I get AE CS6 updates for Maverick Mac

I have a new version of Adobe AE CS6. I have just installed it from the DVD

  • Why does my brand new mack (w/ Safari 7.0.3) keep showing updates for Maverick?

I want to turn this update notification off.  I have googled Maverick and my question in various ways and cannot find an answer regarding the Maverick issue.
    Two things:
IF I upgrade to Maverick will the whole look and interface of my computer look different?
AND  if yes, then I want to get rid of that annoying update in my apple apps.  It keeps showing I need to update to maverick 10.9.4.

In the Apple icon menu bar, click on 'About this Mac' to see in the resulting window
what the current OS X version is that is running in your 'new' Macintosh computer...
Some computers shipped with an older Mac OS X 10.8.x Mountain Lion system
and if you don't mind that, it should be fine for awhile. The next latest system after
Mavericks should be supported (when available) in the future, so you may or may
not want to upgrade ahead of that.
If you have software that needs a newer OS X than whatever is installed in your Mac,
then you could look into any other upgrades that may be necessary in hardware prior
to upgrading the operating system. Some computers would prefer more RAM memory
installed, and perhaps some may need a firmware update, etc. Since you do not say
what model, build, version, or exact identifier of your equipment, that's hard to tell...
You will have to identify the computer more exactly, before anyone can guess its specs.
    Good luck & happy computing!

  • No CS5 updater for Mavericks but CS6 gets one

Another glaring example of Adobe coldly abandoning its Fireworks users. There's an updater for CS6 for the new Mavericks OS, but no updated for CS5.
Adobe keeps making me dislike it more. Wish Macromedia had never sold Fireworks. At least they had some enthusiasm about the app.
And I'm not about to be sucked into the pay-in-perpetuity scheme called Cloud, in which they make whatever tweaks to the app that they feel like making whether I want 'em or not. At least in sticking to CS5 I have an app that I know, without unrequested, un-cancellable "improvement" changes.
Guess I'll just have to live with the new, erroneous "Could not save this file" prompts in CS5 and renew my Adobe disgust each time the prompt rears its meaningless little window.

There is NO alternative to Fireworks.
You are correct: there is nothing out there that completely mimics Fireworks. Do realize that the slicing paradigm in Fireworks is somewhat outdated, though, and web workflows have evolved. FW never really kept up with those since Adobe took over development.
    Some options:

Xara Webdesigner or Designer Pro (which includes all of WebDesigner's features): http://www.xara.com/us/products/webdesigner/
Macaw will be out soon. Looks very interesting: http://macaw.co/
Antetype is also good, though more of an extra tool: http://www.antetype.com/
Myself, I replaced Fireworks with a combination of Photoline, Xara, and Color Quantizer. And the Foundation framework: http://foundation.zurb.com/
