Server update wizard for unity 7 what's in it ?
Hi
I am trying to find out what patches are applied to the server when you run 'ServerUpdatesWizard-v.3.0.05-042010' for Unity 7. Can find links to older patches detailing which MS patches are being applied but not to this one. Help pointing me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Phil
Hi Phil,
Wizard Version 3.0(5), April 2010
Cisco Unity Server Updates wizard version 3.0(5) installs the following software:
•Cisco Security Agent for Cisco Unity version 3.1(7).
•The Microsoft security updates listed in the following sections:
–Wizard Version 3.0(4), February 2010
–Wizard Version 3.0(3), January 2010
–Wizard Version 3.0(2), December 2009
•The Microsoft security updates listed below.
In addition, when this version of the wizard is run on Windows Server 2003 SP1 or SP2, it applies the registry edit described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article KB 928046. The registry edit fixes a known issue in Cisco Unity in which administering the system over remote desktop connections in console mode crashed the Cisco Unity-CM TSP.
April 2010
–KB 948496, An update to turn off default SNP features is available for Windows Server 2003-based and Small Business Server 2003-based computers
–MS10-018, KB 980182 (Critical), Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer
December 2008
–KB 955839, December 2008 cumulative time zone update for Microsoft Windows operating systems
July 2008
–KB 953988, An application that uses the IEnumVARIANT interface triggers a memory leak, and this causes system performance to decrease on a Windows Server 2003-based computer

Server Update Wizard for Unity 7
I can't seem to find any documentation on this, but I'm basically looking for best practices when running the server update wizard.
For example, should I run the update wizard on the failover server first with the "automatic failover and failback" and "file replication" disabled?
Any info is appreciated. Thanks. If you have a Unity failover setup with automatic failover configured, then you could safely install updates on the Primary server and allow failover/failback to work as configured. In this manner, Unity will failover when the server reboots and failover when the server is back online and services are up. Then when you update the failover server, it just requires install/reboot - i.e., all else is operating normally. The process can be done in the reverse as well. Update backup first, then primary.
As far as best practice is concerned, this is probably flexible since the SUW is usually a pretty benign process. The best practice would be to perform during off-hours when call volume is low. You shouldn't need to tweak any failover/failback settings as long as you're operating during an approved window.

Unity Server Update Wizard v.3.0(22) or v.3.0(20)
I would like to find out what updates are contained within the following:
Unity Server Update Wizard version 3.0(20)
Unity Server Update Wizard version 3.0(22)
Both have the same release date of Dec. 30th, 2011.
I have checked the http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/unity/updates/wizard/2011cuupwz.html link, but it hasn't been updated since September. Thanks for your response. I guess in my heart of hearts, I'd convinced myself that the Unity SUW was the way to go but with Microsoft issuing "out of band” critical updates (the latest one is for IE if memory serves), it was useful to see what others are doing.
I'll follow your advice and stick with Cisco
Best regards

Convert a SQL Server Update Statement for Oracle
Hi,
i need to convert an update statement written for SQL Server to make it work on Oracle,
the update is the following:
UPDATE TABLE1
SET CDate = TBL2.CDate
FROM TABLE1 TBL1
JOIN TABLE2 TBL2 ON TBL2.Code = TBL1.TBL2Code
JOIN TABLE3 TBL3 ON TBL3.Id = TBL1.Id
WHERE TBL3.TypeCode = '07'
how can i make it compatible with oracle?
thanks!!Billy Verreynne wrote:

Try this
<snipped>Dislike such an approach that requires multiple hits on the same tables. This is never scalable. A key performance issue is to do only one pass through a data set when possible and not do multiple passes.Yes i understand. But to do a update on a join the table must be a Key Preserved Table. And for a normal Update it is necessory to have an EXISTS clause so that we dont update the non-matching rows to NULL. -
Unity 5 Software Updates Wizard
The Untiy SUW download listings for 2010 don't include Untiy 5.0. Does SUW 3.0(3) and 3.0(4) work with Unity 5 also? The latest version listed for Unity 5.0 was 3.0(2), which I have installed.
Thanks
ChrisYes, the newer versions can be run on Unity 5. See the link below which states:
The Cisco Unity Server Updates wizard can be run on the following Cisco Unity and
Cisco Unity–related servers:•
Cisco Unity 5.x, 7.x, and 8.x servers.
Cisco Unity 5.x and 7.x voice-recognition servers.

Sharepoint 2010 - Error while running Configuration wizard for SP 2010 server farm
Hi All,
I am trying to set up a SP 2010 farm. I have windows server 2008 R2 installed and was able to install SP 2010 successfully. However when I ran the Sp 2010 Products and configuration wizard I am getting the following error at Step 3.
Failed to create the configuration database.

I have installed all the prerequisites and I am on Microsoft Geneva Framework 1.0.30624.0 . I saw on a blog that Microsoft Geneve Framework beta 2 will actually cause the above problem. However I encountered the error with Beta 1 version as well.
Any ideas why this is happening?Hello together,
I get the same error mentioned above while running the configuration wizard.

Where is Support for Windows Update issues for Windows Server?
Where is Support for Windows Update Issues for Windows Server?
Windows Update keeps prompting to install an important update, KB2871690 and continually fails with error code 0x800f922
I ran all the fixes I can find, it still fails.
I also tried the manual install, fails.
Microsoft used to provide no charge support for Windows Update issues. They additionally offer online fixes for other versions of windows, but not server, and I can't find a forum.
I also cannot ignore the update, it continually prompts.
I ran the windowsupdate.diagcab and it continually states it fixes Windows Update error 0x80070057, by resetting windows update data store. It further states it fixes Problems installing recent updates.
But it doesn't. I've run it 50 times, and it says the same thing every time.
So there is no support for windows update, and no support for windowsupdate.diagcab.
What's the deal?I've done the SFC/ SCANNOW and DISM
here is the cbs.log

Firefox update seems to have caused my Apache server to stop working. What do I do?
I have been using MAMP apache and SQL servers successfully on my mac for the past few months. Up until this morning.
I switched on my computer this morning, clicked on the Firefox icon to launch and it automatically started running an update (which I hate - if I wanted to update I would've asked!).
Firefox is running fine but I can no longer connect to my Apache server. The only thing that has changed between now and last night (when I last used MAMP) is the Firefox update.
Please can you detail what the update has done and what could possibly have caused it to conflict with my MAMP? I have lost a morning so far trying to figure it out and cannot get on with my work without it!Hi,
Open windows ControlPanel, open Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers, right click the Realtek device and select Proprties. Select the 'Driver' tab and then click on 'Roll Back Driver'.
Let the process complete, then restart the notebook.
Regards,
DP-K

at facebook Israeli SQL Server User Group. In short.. It's realy look bad in my opinion.

Close ... before going for a specific Cisco app ... lets find out some details:
Host we need more details:
What is your server environment (Windows Server, or Mac OS X Server, or Linux)?
What security is implemented in your environment - as what is restricted (RDP for all or specifc credentials on all machines? Are you part of local admin group to the server you wish to connect)?
Does your environment Support CISCO IPSec connection? If so use Settings> VPN and IPSec tab to enter VPN details, if not then go with above suggestion. IF your restricted to RSA then either built in VPN settings or 3rd party app for RSA would suffice.
Finally, there are many RDP applications out there I use "Mocha RDP Light" (free minimal ads when launched not when connecting). -
My iPod is not being read by iTunes. What do I do to be able to sync my iPod if iTunes is not starting the setup wizard for the iPod when it is connected to a Dell PC? I am new the iTunes and iPods.
Hello, BAHannebaum.
The article below should resolve any device not being recognized in iTunes issue that you are experiencing. The most common issues are the Apple Mobile Device Support driver or iTunes is outdated. Start with the first step and test the results after each step processed.

When I try to download the iMovie Update :
"You have updates available for other accounts.
To update this application, sign in to the account you used to purchase it." shows -but I don't know what other accounts it is talking about? I Only have 1 Apple Id !Maybe this will help. If you monitor the "More Like This" box, other solved threads appear. Opening them usually displays other threads.
