ServerDispatcher  : sgslufread: Hard error on read, OS error = 104

Hi Community,
Server Configuration:
RHEL 5 2.6.18-274.7.1.el5 x86_64 GNU/Linux
Oracle DB: 11gR2
Oracle WebLogic Server: 11g R1 (10.3.5)
Oracle Fusion Middleware( Identity Management) 11g R1 (11.1.1.3)
I have Installed OID on Weblogic Server on 2 servers with same, mentioned configuration. I have set up Advanced Replication following the link,
http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/oid.1111/e10276/oid_repwiz.htm
After starting up the replication and verifying that every component of OID is running. I get the following Error in the oidldap log files as
[2011-10-31T12:54:31-06:00] [OID] [NOTIFICATION:16] [] [OIDLDAPD] [host: lnxora31] [pid: 7530] [tid: 3] ServerDispatcher : sgslufread: Hard error on read, OS error = 104
Any help on this is appreciated.
Thanks,
Vivek

Having the same error. We have just about everything Oracle has labeled with "Fusion". There ore older posts with similar references to sgslufread, but they don't appear to be related.

Assuming that you are in Win (which you haven't said), you can try using this tool to first remove all traces of previous versions of Reader:
    http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, download the full offline Reader installer from
    http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
and run it immediately after restarting your computer.

  • Short Dump error - Please Read on (Error Attached)

    Hello,
while loading Master Data from R/3 to BI 7.0, all Data Packets loaded successfully, but at the end I got the following error. Can somone pls help me understand this error and what action needs to be taken.
    Thanks.

    Runtime Errors         STORAGE_PARAMETERS_WRONG_SET
    Date and Time          14.05.2008 15:27:00
    Short text
         The system is configured incorrectly.
What happened?     The current program had to be terminated because of an
error when installing the R/3 System.
The program had already requested 1452765184 bytes from the operating
system with 'malloc' when the operating system reported after a
further memory request that there was no more memory space
         available.
    What can you do?
Note which actions and input led to the error.
For further help in handling the problem, contact your SAP administrator
You can use the ABAP dump analysis transaction ST22 to view and manage
termination messages, in particular for long term reference.
In the system profile, set the parameters
         -abap/heap_area_dia and
         -abap/heap_area_nondia
to a maximum of 1452765184. To be on the safe side, reduce the value by 10,000,
         000.
         Then restart the SAP system.

This problem is based in your parameter settings (RZ11).
    In this case parameters
    -abap/heap_area_dia and
    -abap/heap_area_nondia
have a max value which is too low to load your data.
Follow the instructions of the shortdump (probably a BC-guy will do this):
In the system profile, set the parameters
    -abap/heap_area_dia and
    -abap/heap_area_nondia
to a maximum of 1452765184. To be on the safe side, reduce the value by 10,000,
    000.

  • Utmpx error Kernel Reader uptime error

I have 12k System controllers both with the same issue; a black splat on the Kernel Reader->System block. The log file indicates:
warning Dec 15 03:01:49 agent data update error: .iso.org.dod.[...].kernelReader.load.uptime
warning Dec 15 03:01:49 agent data update error: Unable to get boot time from utmpx
Anyone experience this before? Any suggestions welcome.
    Regards,
    Jeff Grabell

    Hi Jeff,
Does the regular Solaris "uptime" command work on those hosts? I think uptime (and the SunMC kr package that gets the data for that part of Kernel Reader) get their information from /var/adm/utmpx(wtmpx?) files. Have you done anything on those boxes that would erase/truncate those files?
I'm just guessing here - I've never seen your problem before. Please post the solution if you figure it out.
    Regards,
    Mike Kirk

    HI BonsaiKo,
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the Chrome application is unresponsive on your Mac. The rainbow disc you see is called the "wait cursor," which spins when your computer is processing something.
If the cursor does not stop spinning, you may have to force Chrome to quit using these steps:
OS X: How to quit an unresponsive application using Force Quit
Using the Force Quit feature of OS X makes an application close, even when it is not responsive.
Important: Normally you should not need to force quit an app to close it. When an app is forced to quit, any unsaved changes to open documents are not saved, so try these methods to normally close the app first:
Choose Quit from the app menu. For example, in Safari, choose Safari > Quit Safari.
Choose Quit by right-clicking or control-clicking on an app's icon in the Dock.
Thank you for participating in Apple Support Communities.

  • Illustrator CC PDF opens in Reader with error message

When I save an Illustrator file as a PDF, Adobe Reader users get an error message when opening the file – "An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly. Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the problem." Why is this happening?

My apologies. We should have been more specific with our question.
    We should have asked this:
Has anyone else seen this message in Acrobat Reader when opening PDFs
created in Illustrator CC since the most current update (v.17.1.0)?  If so,
would you be so kind as to reply with any general or specific information,
or even thoughts, as to what might be causing it in this newest version of
    Illustrator?
    The error message reads:
"An error exists on this page. Acrobat may not display the page correctly.
Please contact the person who created the PDF document to correct the
problem."  (Oddly, the message says "Acrobat," even though the application
    it appears in is Reader.)
The message appears to Adobe Reader users (current version v.11.0.06,
running in Mavericks); and started appearing after we updated Illustrator.
The file content (except for one minor type revision), the PDF settings, the
Adobe Reader users (clients), etc., haven't changed since before then. There
were no issues with PDFs created in the past from the same file, but when we
created new PDFs, our clients received the error message upon opening them.
The files do open, and seem to be fine otherwise; but the recurring message
does annoy our clients, and erodes our credibility as digital designers.
We have tried several strategies to resolve this problem saving the PDFs
    with different settings; altering the file format of the linked image files;
    embedding the images files; outlining the type; using alternative typefaces;
expanding appearances of objects; etc. anything we could think of to
simplify the file or remove an offending file component all to no avail.
We even opened the PDFs in Acrobat XI Pro CC (v. 11.0.06) and resaved with
new file names, and were still met with the same difficulty.
Other details: sRGB color profile in AI file and images; 3 - 11 x 8.5" art
boards; PNG-24 images; PDF settings used: Illustrator Default, PDF/X-4:2008,
Smallest File Size, High-Quality Print, plus a few custom settings from
    printers and developers
So . . . We were hoping that if anyone had encountered this same message,
they might have a clue as to what it relates. Any insight would allow us to
troubleshoot further with that information in mind.
    Many thanks in advance.

  • Time Machine - External Hard Drive Read only error

Just recently got a Iomega 1TB MiniMax FireWire 800 USB 2.0 Desktop Hard Drive and used Time Machine to backup my computer. This was my first time using Time Machine and it successfully backed up 350 GBs. It continued to do backups every hour. When I turned my computer off and then turned it on the next day Time Machine wouldn't allow me to do a backup because it said the hard drive was read only. When I checked info it said it was read/write. I used disc utility to verify disc it said it could not verify disc do a disc repair. Disc repair failed and it said reformat disc. I erased the hard drive tried again and I got the same error message. The hard drive is formatted Mac OS Extended (Journaled). I searched this forum and the trouble shooting links and couldn't find anything on how to correct this. Any help on this problem would be appreciated.

    See the following:
What to do if Time Machine reports you don't have permission
This was posted in the Apple Discussions by V.K. I have only modified it slightly to be more generic.
The problem seems to be that 10.5.6 changes permissions on a file so that even the root user doesn't have write peivileges. I have no idea why they did this. The workaround suggested in [an]other post will probably work, too, but i did something less drastic. Instead of deleting the file I changed permissions on it, and it worked just fine. An added benefit is that the permission change seems to stick, so you don't have to delete the file every time you change a drive.
[Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt [enter] the following command:
    sudo chmod 644 /volumes/"TM drive name"/.xxxxxxxxxxxx
The name of the file .xxxxxxxxxxxx is based on the MAC address of your computer and will be different for every computer. Put the name of the TM drive in the above and keep the quotes.
You'll have to enter your admin password (which you won't see) which is normal.
This was edited by Kappy just for cleanup.
Enable Finder to Show Invisible Files and Folders
Open the Terminal application in your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following command line then press RETURN.
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles TRUE
To turn off the display of invisible files and folders enter or paste the following command line and press RETURN.
    defaults write com.apple.finder AppleShowAllFiles FALSE
Alternatively you can use one of the numerous third-party utilities such as TinkerTool or ShowHideInvisibleFiles - VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Also, see User Tips for Time Machine for help with TM problems. Also you can select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for "time machine" to locate articles on how to use TM. See also Mac 101- Time Machine.

Trying to copy iPhoto Library to external hard drive for backup.  Error message:  The Finder can't complete the operation because some data in "iPhoto Library" can't be read or written (Error code -36).

    That code is
    -36
    ioErr
    I/O error (bummers)
Make sure the EHD is formatted OS X Extended (journaled) and run Disk Utilty on the EHD and repair the disk.  If that fails to help I'd try the following:
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the external HD as the location of the newly rebild library.
    Click on the Create button.
Note 1: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost.
Note 2:  Your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

  • After updating I ended up with 4 icons on my desktop - I cannot delete any of them. The error message reads; "Cannot read from the source file or disk".

I updated from the original version to 6.0.1 and when I re-started FF there were 4 icons on my desktop. I managed to delete one of them, but I cannot delete the other two - to leave me with just one.
I get the error message of "Cannot delete file: Cannot read from the source fie or disk".

Here's the meaning of the error that you received.
"An error has occurred. ERROR :10-FC06-0002" -- may be caused by damaged recovery media or faulty hard drive"
Possible that the problem is on the recovery also.
    Hope this helps.

  • When backing up lightroom 4 catalog, get message "lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit" this occurs during optimization stage of backup

i upgraded from lightroom 4 to lightroom 5 and installed it on a separate hard drive. Initially had no problems util my computer crashed due to the failure of the drive on which Lightroom 5 was installed. Since having my computer rectified, i am unable to use lightroom 5 getting the message "lightroom encountered an error when reading from its preview cache and needs to quit"
I can still use lightroom 4, however, i get the same message when i try to backup the catalog. This occurs during the optimisation phase of backup.
I suspect it is related to Lightroom 5 creating a catalog from the Lightroom 4 files and cannot now locate those files or that they have been corrupted.
Would appreciate any solutions / suggestions.

You need to delete your preview cache and have Lightroom rebuild it.   Cache location can be found here.

  • Error while reading wsdl file

I created and deployed a BPEL process with a JMS adapter and DB adapter.
I have tested this and it works fine.
After a few days, I try to open the project and the BPEL process, and click on the DB
adapter and it throws an exception on the designer :
"Error while reading wsdl file ... (wsdl file name) NULL Exception"
This is hard to debug as the exception does not provide any info, NULL.
This has happened several times for my project. The next time the JMS adapter hit the
same exception while opening on designer. This one I notice happened after I imported
a new schema file (xsd) into the BPEL process.
Only way around that I have for this currently is to delete and recreate the adapters, which as time
consuming as I have to re-create and re-assign a lot of the activities.
Has anyone encountered this and is there a way to fix this without deleting/recreating the adapters ?
    Thanks.

    I experienced the same issue and found the cause and a workaround;
"Error while reading wsdl file …. Exception: null"

Recently bought  a new computer and all my music appears in iTunes as well as on my computer in a saved folder. Hope you can help me solve this issue.

This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes .
