I tried to download the latest version of ITunes, and I received this message: Service Apple mobile device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services.
How can i solve the problem?

I had Itunes on already but it stop work so I uninstalled it to reinstall it but it wont work.Have you looked at the previous discussions listed on the right side of this page under the heading "More Like This"?

I keep getting this error message when I try to install iTunes. I have uninstalled/installed several times making sure that I removed EVERY file associated with this program. I do have the privilages however I am being ignored. Before I become bald from pulling my hair out can you please HELP!!!!!!!

I receive a massage that a new version of ITunes was available (11.1.4). I proceeded to update, the download went ok but when installing the Message “Service ’Apple Mobile Device’ failed to start, verify that you have sufficient Privileges to start system Services”
On pressing retry I got the same message.
On pressing Ignore, I got the message “ITunes was not installed correctly, please reinstall ITunes – Error 7 – (windows error 126)
I reinstalled with the same error messages and the same results.
I uninstalled existing and reinstalled from scratch and the same error messages again.
I try to repair and at the end it said it had installed correctly – but when it tried to start I got the message “This application has failed to start because MSVCR80.dll was not found. Reinstalling the application may fix the problem” I now get the same message when I first start the computer but when I press ok I receive ““ITunes was not installed correctly; please reinstall ITunes – Error 7 – (windows error 126)” again.
It appears the update has not only corrupted the operating system (Xp Pro SP3) of my computer but I have no backups to my IPhone, my wife’s IPhone or the three others phones that use my computer.

this is the message i received while installing iTunes "Service "Apple Mobile Device" failed to start. verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services". I had to uninstall and then reinstall iTunes because something wrong happened with the update.
please help me!Did you tear down iTunes and other software? Did you reinstall using administrator priveliges?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Hey I finally got an older vesion of itunes to work!!! 10.7 x64 for windows 7
After uninstalling all apple products even quicktime
I had to delete everything from (program files, and program files x64, program data,)
And all downloads from apple, and I went in to search deleted other stuff from apple, and itunes
But definently not my itunes library and Playlist
Down loaded 10.7 x64 for windows 7, but checked (do not start when done)
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my PC
I ran geek tech tool box same as reg cure pro, also PC Tools registry cleaner, and CC Cleaner
Then I emptied my recycling bin and restarted my PC
And wallah... It finally works, and I Love the older version anyways.
Easier to download and transfer music!!!!! -
While installing the latest iTunes version I get the following msg:"Service Apple Mobile Device failed to start.Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. I already tried it from the installer Running it as Administrator and still get the same message. I click "ignore" and finish the installation but when I try to open it I get this "Runtime Error! R6034 An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly." I already uninstalled iTunes and all other applications involved and re-installed itunes from the itunes site and the problem persists. Please help!

Restart PC
Uninstall iTunes and attempt to reinstall
Verify that I am signed in as an administrator
Download and save iTunes64Setup file, right-click, and run as Administrator
Disable Norton antivirus software

I just bought my IPhone and am also getting the the Service Apple Mobile Device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services. This is after following the uninstall/reinstall instruction. I am due to travel in 2 days and am very upset about this. This needs to be fixed!!!
