Service centre says it/s liquid problem

My blackberry 9220 curve is in warranty and  there is heating problem and charging jack problem,
 the service centre guy after checking the set, asked to handover the set  for rectification, A day after they called me back that your hand set is damaged by water and could not be repaired  and is not covered in warranty.
 There is no sign of liquid damage
What to do?

No one here, in this user-to-user community, is party to your purchase contract, which is where your warranty terms are defined. No one here works for BB nor your service center. If you believe that the person you spoke to is wrong, then you need to appeal to them...escalate with them. But, no one here can "see" anything so no one here can make a ruling one way or another for you.

    I purchased my imac intel 21" 3-4 weeks ago and in the 2nd week i faced an issue with the machine. When i switched on in, there was a fan noise and a white screen. The machine had hanged. I reported the problem and gave to the service centre. After testing for a week, they said that there is no problem with the imac. Again i faced the same problem after receiving it from the service centre. They again tested the machine for 3-4 days and reported as no problem with the machine. Couple of days back, I received the machine from the service centre, and on the same day when i switched it on, there are flickers in the display. Please help me solve the issue. I am from India. The service here is very bad.

    Yes I agree with seventy one. It's common sense to do this, especially now. I would also contact AppleCare and report this issue with them, it will get documented and you will have a caseID that you can refer to when talking to them in the future should this issue go one.
    Be polite with AppleCare and your AASP. Hopefully everyone is being honest and trying to help you and not what might appear to be the opposite.
    Patience is a virtue, but I thoroughly understand your frustration.
    Let us know how it goes, we are here to help in whatever way we can.
    I encourage you to contact AppleCare to report this experience and get their recommendations. There is an expectation that you should have that AppleCare is there to help you as a customer. I am sure they will too!

    iPhones do not have an international warranty.  Warranty is valid only for the country of purchase.  This is most likely because different countries require different iPhone models.  Not reasonable to expect all countries to maintain stock for all models.

    Using a cradle with the Tungsten E2?  Tried bypassing the cradle and just use the hotsync cable?  Tried a different computer yet?  Somehow, the PC is having problems getting a signal from the device.  I assume you have the laptop charger plugged into the laptop during this?  Not going through a docking station or port-replicator.
    One crazy thing you can try is unplug the charger from your laptop, remove the battery from the laptop and leave it out for like 10mins and put it back in and reboot the laptop.  This should not cause side effects but still contact your OEM to make sure that nothing else is needed after leaving the battery out for extended period of time.  Keep me posted.

    How is your iPhone's display different?
    You can check the model number by  going to Settings/General/About. These are the model numbers for the various 3 GS models;

    I can send and receive calls.
    I get "messaging stopped" when doing a lot of texts.
    Texts come up "ghosted" meaning they have the text on the bottom and a transparent one overlaid  on top. they then become one. But I get the ghosting most of the time when I go into a message from a contact to send a text.
    When I go to call logs or text logs, the numbers come up first, and then then the names pop up randomly, meaning not in order down the page, until they are all shown. lots of lag time.
    It runs slow.
    I have 5 apps on here. I should be able to have a  lot of apps on here, and play music, and have files, and...and....and.
    I can get online but doing a Google search, when the page with the choices comes up, it is blurred and I have to tap on the screen for it to become clear and readable.
    When online and scrolling, it hitches sometimes/lags/gets stuck then unstuck
    I get VZWAVS has stopped. (not sure if those are the right letters)
    The status bar that is supposed to be gray with the new update, goes back and forth between green--the old os--to gray. And I have found no continuity with when I get green or when I get gray.
    I get a black screen on occasion.
    sometimes the proximity sensor doesn't work.
    sometimes when I have my bluetooth on and have "hands free mode" on, I get the a text message read through the headset and also through the handset.

    Why?  Your current phone is used... it has been since the instant it was removed from the shrink wrap and turned on.

    Take the device to Apple for evaluation... it may not need replacement.
    Even if it does, neither you or the Apple tech should be able to tell if the replacement is new or refurbished.

  • Hi, I got an Error 23 when trying to restore my phone. Apple support centre says its a hardware issue without doing anything to come to this conclusion. They will not tell me how to escalate this case. Please let me know if there is a way to escalate.

    One day when tried to restart my iphone 4, I got a screen asking me to connect to itunes. Itunes asked me to restore my phone. When I tried to restore, I got an Error 23 saying it cannot be restored. I tried the phone support. They asked to contact the service centre. I then tried the service centre guys. They clearly did not know what Error 23 was. They asked to contact the apple support again. After 2-3 guys tried to blow me off saying it is a hardware issue, I asked for a senior analyst. Apple support assigned a senior guy who said he will contact the engineering team. After 2 days, I was told that the engineering team has confirmed that this is a hardware issue.
    What I am surprised about is that no one seems to have done any analysis or debugging to figure this out. How do they decide that this is a hardware issue?
    The first time I tried it from my laptop and got this message. The support guy told me that my laptop may have an antivirus software which may be causing this issue. So I took it to the service centre. They tried the same restore from their machine and got the exact same error.
    The senior analyst that was later assigned to my case, again asked me to restore from my machine. I got the same error.
    Basically what they had verified in all these activities was that I was getting error 23. I dont know how they decided that this was due to hardware issues?
    Online documentation on Error 23 is vague. It is bunched long with other error codes. There is no clear explanation of what Error 23 is.
    But most importantly It says 'In rare cases, this may be a hardware issue'.
    So if it is a hardware issue in rare case, how was my case deemed to be a 'rare case'?
    When I asked them to escalate this, they said that there is no way to escalate.
    I have had a horrible experience with Apple support. Till this point I used to think of Apple as a class apart. But now I am totally disillusioned.
    My phone was about a year and a half old. I dont mind it if it actually turns out to be a hardware issue. I will take it as my bad luck.
    But I dont see how the support guys decided that this is a hardware issue. I need to know.
    And secondly I am shocked that Apple has no escalation path.
    Can anyone please help?

    You sound like an Apple support guy who hasn't been able to answer my questions.
    To respond to some of the points you made,
    - I did not ignore Ocean20's suggestion. If you has read my post, you would have known that I took my phone to the apple service centre where they tried this restore on THEIR machines. I am assuming that Apple guys know how not to block iTunes. So I actually do not understand your point about me trying the hosts file changes on my machine. Do you not believe that apple tested this issue with the correct settings?
    - you also give a flawed logic of why the issue is a hardware issue. You mentioned that If I thought that the issue was with the software, i should try a restore and getting it to work. The problem is that my error (23), and many others comes up when the restore fails. And you would be astonished to know that not all errors are hardware errors. Sometimes even software errors prevent restores. Funnily enough Apple itself mention that 'in rare cases, error 23 could be hardware related'.
    - all Apple has done so far is replicate the issue. I don not know how anyone can conclude that the issue is a hardware issue.
    And by the way, I am not certain that this is a software bug. Again if you read my Posts, you will notice I only want a confirmation,/proof that the issue is hardware related as they mention..
    Please refrain do. Responding if there is nothing to add.

    i purchased a BLackbery Z10 last month but in few days its was not performing well so i gave it to the service centre for repairing . the concerned person told that there is a serious problem but dont worry we will replace this handset with a new one.
    i gave  the handset at the service centre i.e redington india pvt ltd in AHMEDABAD on 5/7/2014 , but still they are not delevering a new handset . its about to be a month but still the service centre people are not giving a proper response saying that the model is out os atock and will be still delayed .
    i am Journalist in TIMES OF INDIA  and hence require a handset for mailing and buying BLACKBERRY has tried to prove to myself a big mistake as because of the Pathetic service and Extremely poor after sales support
    If I am not geeting a new and defect free handset in this week,  m filling a complaint against blackberry and the concerned  service centre REDINGTON INDIA ahmedabad  at CONSUMER FORUM  for providing me a defective handset and not giving a proper service for replacement as its a month as folling the customer by fake promises done before purchase
    the competitor like SAMSUNG AND APPLE have a customer policy of max to max 5 day replacement against defective handset .
    I will Also apply an RTI as journalist of TIMES OF INDIA for providing data of people in ahmedabad who got such defective pieces and will write a column in my Newspaper TIMES OF INDIA as for TRIAL OF MEDIA

  • Misuse of clause in extended warranty of laptop by service centre to harass and cheat customer

    Please read it completely as this is from a Frustrated, Harassed, Cheated customerThis is with reference to case ID: 4756281406-471. The laptop against this case ID is under extended warranty. This laptop was given for repair to MI road Jaipur service centre of HP on 20th July 2015.My complaint is regarding the way your authorised service centre treats customer, as In spite of everyday following them up, till Saturday i.e. 25th July 2015 they kept on saying that mail regarding motherboard change has been sent & acceptance from authorities is still awaited. After chasing thru the call centre, very conveniently unilaterally they put the blame on customer that extended warranty is voided as they found liquid spillage on mother board.  Because for the laptop under extended warranty your service station does not tell or show to customer that laptop has been mishandled by customer when they are accepting the laptop for repair. Subsequently after keeping the laptop at their service station they conveniently later blame customer for mishandling under the clause that, the standard warranty does not extend to any HP Hardware Product that has been damaged or rendered defective as a result of accident, misuse, liquid spills, abuse, contamination, or other external causes.Poor honest customer like me who has not mishandled the laptop feels cheated. The service centre did not show/tell me any kind of mishandling when they received the laptop from me and then after keeping the laptop in service station they unilaterally decide that customer has mishandled.For laptop under extended warranty when the service centre know that such clause exists why they are not making the provision of showing at the time of accepting the laptop from customer, that the fault is due to mishandling of laptop by customer.I also forwarded this information to [email protected] but did not receive any reply from them. Is this the way HP treats its customer that they do not have courtesy to reply customer mail.I will be using a few harsh words against your after sales service setup. I will request you to pardon me for that. May be you are not aware of these activities being done at your service centre.   • How to Approach to Senior People Against Apple Service Centre in Delhi & Apple Customer Care Bangalore ?

    I Had Iphone 5S and Display Issue is there.
    Device is under warranty and opened by service centre without issuing a Job Card.
    Apple Service Centre is out of Stock for Replacement and refer to other Service Centre.
    After reaffixing my Device the Glass is Loose and Because of That next day while visiting other service centre My Device got Black Spot.
    They Deny the replacement and Now it is almost 1 Month 7 Days.
    No one is going to understand the real cause and deny the replacement due to pressure damage.

    I tried Apple Care Centre and Speak to Many Senior Executive they closed my case and no written reply. By phone they mentioned the case is rejected due to Pressure Damage on the Display.
    I Also Contact the Service Centre Manager he is saying the same.
    Store Manager Goes through my problem he understand the case but denying to do that replacement.
    Actual fault is done by there staff. I visited the Service Centre due to some Pinkish Color reflecting on Screen on 15 July they open my Device without issuing the Job Card in two minutes when my turns come they said the device can be replaced due to fault in Display but they refer me to another Service Centre Because they are out of Stock for 1 Week to 10 Days due to some account part in there centre.
    They return my device but cannot reaffix my Glass properly I intimate them they said don't worry it will be replace tomorrow at other service centre. I approach next day and while waiting for my turn a black spot appears due to loose glass.
    Other Service Centre Deny due to Black Spot & Refer me back to the same service centre. They told me to submit my device and they mention the situation of 16 July and don't mention the situation of 15 July.
    I explained and send emails to ACC but no one explain the problem to Apple US they are considering the problem from 16 July onwards but the real fault is done by the employes of Service Centre and Closed my Case after just replying that it is due to pressure damage.
    The actual mail is very long which i send it and how should I approach to Senior people they said there is no option after talking to senior executive in ACC INDIA
    Please Help and Suggest.
