Service for Distributing Newsletters Created in InDesign

Does anyone know of an email marketing service that can be used to distribute newsletters created in InDesign? I have been using Constant Contact and have been very happy with the service, except that it only allows users to distribute HTML/XHTML (or image file JPEG/GIF/PNG) newsletters. I am interested in switching from a web-based template to InDesign for my newsletter, but first I need to find a service to distribute InDesign newsletters. Any ideas you have would be much appreciated!

Markzware has a nice little service that is currently in beta I believe.

They were at Print 09 showing it off. I've only used it a little bit. It is nice, but I don't have a need for it. It's powered by WordPress and I assume relatively easy to set a look for if you want to go that route. Maybe check them out. It's prominently bragged about on their main page.

Would there be any reason for a hotspot created in InDesign to change size when exported as a SWF?

I've got a 280-page InDesign (CS5) document with invisible buttons/ hotspots throughout which I want to export as a SWF.
Once exported, the buttons/ hotspots appear to be sized/ positioned correctly on the first dozen or so pages. Afterwards, the hotspots are consistently sized and positioned incorrectly over the buttons; so that if you were to try and click on the button, you wouldn't actually be clicking on the hotspot at all.
Things I've tried so far:
Exporting the pages in smaller batches, rather than as a single 280-page file
Export the SWF at different sizes
Checking that the hotspost don't have any blank areas inside their boxes (in the same way you can move an image inside a picture box and have blank areas)
I've hit a wall with this – any help/ suggestions you're able to offer would be very much appreciated.

Image quality and settings for professional portfolio created on indesign

I'm putting a portfolio together of project work I have done throughout my degree for applying for jobs. I am very familiar with p/s and illustrator but indesign is slightly new to me.
What is the best ppi setting to use for my images? They will probably be viewed on a monitor but also be printed by me to put into a physical portfolio.
When exporting as a pdf what are the best settings?

Bulk Upload of Attachments (images) to an invoice (Services for object)

Hi Gurus,
We are trying to create some kind of program to mass upload scanned images of invoices to an invoice document. At the moment we do each document on its own, we create the attachment to an invoice using FB02, then access the services for objects menu & create attachment.
Can anyone advise of a way of creating a program to upload these images to a document OR the name of the table where it keeps the location of the attchments.

How to add an attachment to a Purchase Order in SAP?
You can attach manually any document to PO without using Document Management System ( DMS ) in SAP 4.6C.
But you cannot attach document while you create PO in T/Code ME21N
Save you PO ( ME21N ) and again open with change ( ME22N ) then you can attach document through Service for Object button. Service for Object button available down side of Command screen ( in your PO screen ME22N )
Click your Service Object button -> Create -> Create attachment
then select your window directory ( which file you need to attach) select your file Now your system shows message Service "Create attachment" is started.
Save again your PO. You can see (open) your attachment in same field ( Service for Object ) select and Create and check attachment list. You can attach as many document in your PO.
Note: This is only information for internal or you can print separately this document for sending to vendor ( fax ) System will not print automatically along PO print out.

Problem with user services (creating a service for mpdas)

Hi, I'm using mpd and using a user service to start it.
However, I'm trying to create a service for mpdas (a mpd client for last.fm) and getting some errors:
currently, my mpdas.service is as following:

Which are the same errors I get if I run just "mpdas" instead of running it with sudo.
If I use it as a root service (instead of a user service) it fails on startup, but works fine when I restart the server.
So, I'm assuming:
1) mpdas needs root permission
2) if used as a root service, it fails at startup cause the mpd service (enabled as a user service) hasn't started yet
3) if used as a user service, it fails cause it needs root permission
What's the 'correct' way to solve this? (I believe mpdas should be a user service, cause it runs with a config that is just for my user).
Is there a way to make a user service run with root privileges?
I couldn't figure out the best way to configure it.

It works only with sudo. It was failing as a system service because it needs mpd, which I configured as an user service. Then when systemd starts the system services (when booting) there's not mpd instance running and it fails.

As a noob, I don't know exactly how fakeroot works, I'll take a better look at it, but running it with fakeroot takes rid of the errors I was getting when not running as sudo.
The problem I have now is that it still fails on startup, but there isn't any helpful (or unhelpful) message. It just shows the PID and says it failed.

it works well though. Any ideas of why this happens?

Need to create service for Tomcat 5.0.28 and Analyzer 7.2.5.3

 I just installed Hyp. Analyzer 7.2.5.3 using Tomcat 5.0.28 (the default) as the web server. The script provided in this thread and the one found on the Hyperion eSupport knowledgebase did not work for 5.0.28. The primary things I found was paths are different between the version of Analyzer, also, 5.0.28 has a tomcat5.exe. I modified this script so that the paths match the current environment, however the service is not being created. There are 2 messages displayed when the service installer runs: [2007-04-26 15:30:21] [349 prunsrv.c] [error] The operation completed successfully. [2007-04-26 15:30:21] [1037 prunsrv.c] [error] Load configuration failed These errors occur using the script from this thread and the one from the hyperion knowledgebase. I am copying here for reference with my modifications for 5.0.28. There are 3 jar files that are not found in the folders, that are in the 4.1.30 folders. hm, I just recognized something
as I already installed my framework on different systems to try it I suddenly found something that differes from one installation to the other, namely in MySQL.
As I installed XAMPP, I can easily access MySQL via phpMyAdmin. This software views the current available databases in a dropdown menu on the left site of the screen. Further I got two database including an underscore in their name.
If I go into the rights tab of phpMyAdmin and go on to change the rights for my specific user (that generally has no rights, except for that one database, I try to connect to) then I can specify detailed rights for different databases.
If I klick on that specific rights button then the names of my underscore including databases switch from DATABASE_NAME to DATABASE\_NAME (in other words I see a sort of escape sign before the underscore).
Can this cause a problem? Because the name itself is available as a link to the database, which in case of "\_" including names is broken...
I didn't see this in any other installation before, but I also just tried to acess the database via this name or via \ (its acsii sign instead).

I guess there are other ways. But this is an easy way, if you find the right wizards.
Besides this it is good practise to define interface methods so that session bean implement these interface methods, and thus seperate the interface from the implementation.
In this approach you will need 3 projects:
An enterprise application project (will contain EJB Module)
An EJB Module project (will contain session bean)
A Java project (contains code that implements the session bean methods)
In my previous post I suggested to use a J2EE web mudule project. This was a mistake, it should be EJB module.
But it should be possible to do it in another way. It is up to you.

First you need to publish your service which you would get from the dropdown fro utilities->setting->its->publish.
Also check in transaction SICF whether your serivce is actiavted- else activate the same. you can find your serivice under the following path

Issue in creating web service for a ABAP Function Module

Hi,
now i'm learning how to create web service for a ABAP Function Module. I used the following steps.
1. select the Function Module, named "zws_test".
2. in the context menu, select "create->proxy object". so we enter into wizard.
3. in the wizard, press the radio button "Service Provider".
4. in the next page, press the radio button "Existing ABAP Objects(Inside Out)".
5. In the next page, Enter the "zws_test_prvider" as Service Definition and select "Function Module" as Endpoint Type.
6. in the next page, enter "zws_test" as Function Module and mark the "Mapping der Namen" button
7. in the next page,select "PRF_DT_IF_SEC_LOW" as Profile and mark "Deploy Service".
8. Save in the local package.
9. then it will pop up a window with title "WSDL Source". i selected "URL/HTTP Destination" and press "OK".
10.in the next page, i enter the URL as "http://hostname:portnumber/", and press "OK".
11. then it will pop up a window with title "Display logs". A record with error message "HTTP error(return code 404, message "Not found")" appears.
12. i press "ok" and a service provider with name "zws_test_prvider" appears in my local package.
13. i use "zws_test_prvider"'s URL to create a service consumer "ZCO_WS_TEST_CONSUMER" and logic portal "LP1".
14. But when i test my service consumer "ZCO_WS_TEST_CONSUMER", it will throw an exception "cx_ai_system_fault" with errortext "SOAP:14 Unexpected element -el=definitions ns=http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/wsdl/".
15. I use t-code SM59 to test connection and get the following info.
      Status HTTP Response     200
      Status Text                      OK
      Duration Test Call             328 ms.
who can give me the reasons about item 11 and 14, and explain me how to create service provider and service consumer for a Function Module.

we are implementing PM (Plant Management) module of SAP R/3 4.6C and we have the necessity to create web services for some PM functionalities. Infact we need to integrate our SAP R/3 4.6C with other applications (non-SAP) through TIBCO (it's mandatory). So we think to use SAP XI. Moreover our users don't want to use SAP GUI for the accessing to the PM functionalities but they want an UI more friendly. So we think to use SAP EP.
Which is your opinion about this architectural scenario? Is it possible to fulfil the requirement of our business users with a more simple architectural solution (for example with WEB DYNPRO)?

Infact we need to integrate our SAP R/3 4.6C with other applications (non-SAP) through TIBCO (it's mandatory). So we think to use SAP XI.
TIBCO is another middleware. So once you expose your R/3 functionalities as web service, you may directly use TIBCO to integrate and XI won't be required at all.
Moreover our users don't want to use SAP GUI for the accessing to the PM functionalities but they want an UI more friendly.
WebDynpro application would provide you an easy GUI and could act as Soap client as well to send data.

Can't create a service for failover on 2 node windows2008 RAC

To create a new service for failover,
1)Enterprise Manager can not be used by prompting an error: many people already mentioned.
2)Net Manager could create a service but it fails to test showing:
Attempting to connect using userid: qa1
The test did not succeed.
ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor
Q1: According to doc, it should be used ONLY for Non-cluster and single instance. Is this why I have an error?
Q2: If not, what should I need to do to fix this problem?
3)Using command line like

Where can you find free InDesign CS3 templates for newsletters, or free editable examples of good newsletters in the InDesign format?

I am looking for free newsletter templates or free editable examples of good newsletters made using InDesign CS3. Anyone know of a great spot for finding these?

That would make sense if it opened a template folder but it opens the most recent Bridge folder I had open.

How to create a Generic Object Services for a standard tcode.

Hi,
We have a requirement where we are depreciating the assets (standard transaction ABAA) using a custom BDC program. We need to maintain a history (called audit trail) for the particular asset that has been depreciated using this program. For this audit train we have been asked to use "Generic Object Services" in transaction code ABAA.
Unfortunately, Generic object services are not available in this transaction code. Can you please suggest me how to create "Generic Object Services" for a particular standard transaction code. Also, we have show the details of custom workflow that follows the approval process in order to depreciate the asset. how to show this workflow details using Generic Services. This is a very critical issue, any help will be very help ful.
Please let me know should you require more information on this topic.

Instead of copyg the std fm to z, do the following,
1. Go to se37 open FM VIEW_KURGV in display mode.
2. Click on the spiral icon on the top.
3. Then in menu go edit->enhancment options -> show implicit enhancement
4. """""""""""""""""""""" kind of lines will appear in the cde, just rt click on the line at the place u want to insert the code and select
enhancement implementation create.
5. Give apropriate name for thi , it will inset a n place to write your code.
This is an std sap methodology and is supported in upgradde also.

Idoc info in 'Services for Objects' when a sales order is created

Hi Guys
Could one of you remind me how to turn on the Idoc info in the 'Services for Objects' > workflow option.
I know how to turn on the services for objects using the user profile and entering parameter id:SD_SWU_ACTIVE , parameter value: X.
I am not able to see the Idoc number/info that was used to create the sales order. I can see all the information in WE05 but the sales order does not show me any history of having used the Idoc.
When i go to sales order and select the services for objects option followed by workflow the system should show the IDOC number/info used to create this order.
Your help will be appreciated.

Hi,
1. Configure the IDoc with message type ORDERS and basic IDoc type as ORDERS05 (You have to follow common step-by-step approach)
2. Configure Message Control to automatically generate IDoc whenever a Sales Order is created. (I mean output type)
So whenever a Sales Order is created, output type will generate an IDoc.
