Service keyagent failed to start when installing mac drivers on windows

I have installed windows vista 64-bit with no problems on my imac, tried to install the drivers of the mac disk but when it comes to start the keyagent it says i don't have sufficient privileges to start the system services and the same for starting the MacHalDriver, i have full admin rights under vista. Then i cant start bootcamp from vista the exe file does not work. All the other drivers have installed and worked correctly. Any help for this???

The solution outlined here:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=7105319
using the torrent download fixes the problem.

  • No update folder when installing mac drivers on windows

Okay... I love this forum so much. Any way i get an error when attempting to installing the exe file for the drivers install for windows xp pro sp2 (should be sp2 ill check to make sure).
The problem is when i do the auto run i get no update foldier to update windows xp. This download will now quit.
My question is can i just create this foldier and where does it go if i do. I do not know excatly how to fix this. So that is why im on here. Windows works fine other wise. I know i can manual install drivers but the exe file also contains the program to change the boot process and i just wanted becuase its on there. Besied that i got sound and video drivers working but i think theres drivers on there i dont need to install because i dont have that partical hardware installed and i dont want anything on there that i dont need so this is why im having this dilema. I would ask that if some one knows a work around or a solution thats great. If i have to reinstall windows then so be it but i dont have a lot of time after work (i work 12hr shifts where im at) so it causes me to want to sleep then mess with a computer. any way if you have any question ill try and answer as soon as possable. thanks for help ahead of time.

thanks for the responce but to answer your question. I am trying to run the setup.exe file inside of the leopard DVD when in windows. It does do an auto run and doesnt ask what i want to open it with. It just automatically tries to install. it does not open microsoft update/installer program.
The dvd says this will try and update windows to a newer version. Then right after i push ok it comes back with no update foldier.
the program im trying to run is on the leoperd DVD and is not on the internet(i dont have internet in the room im in).
I feel for you on the lack of sleep thing. But what im trying to do is when i put the DVD in to the computer while in windows. And the program tries to run to not come back with the above error. And to install all necceray stuff off of the DVD.
So that is why i asked do i need to make the following ajustments. Becuase i dont know what drivers that i need to install i know i need most of them and i know whats on that setup.exe file at the top of the directories on the DVD is something i need to.
So that is the current dilimea. I just need to get the DVD to be able to auto run with out this error. That is essentail the bottom line.
Did that some what clear up the issue for you?
P.S.(sorry i just saw what i previosly typed. The installer comes back with the installer will now quit. Not download.) This is happening while in the EXE file that is automatically run when the leoperd DVD is inserted into the computer.

  • Trouble installing Mac drivers on Windows Vista

I've just installed Windows Vista on my intel-based IMac. I'm at the final part where I'm supposed to install the Mac drivers on Vista by ejecting the Windows installation disk and inserting the Mac OS X installation disk. According to the Boot Camp Setup Assistant instructions, it should either auto-run on Vista or the 'setup.exe' application should be visible to click on. However, after inserting the Max OS X installation disk on Vista, the computer doesn't detect anything on the disk! It's as if it's empty but the 'properties' option shows that the installation disk is full! How should I resolve this problem? Can Vista actually read the files present in the Mac OS X installation disk in the first place?

Put the OS X installation disc in the SuperDrive after booting the iMac in Windows, right-click on the disc icon in My Computer, open it in explorer and then double-click on Setup.exe

  • Installing Mac drivers broke Windows

So I just finished Installing Windows 7 64-bit to my 2010 MacBook Pro, and everything went fine for the most part, except I could not run the drivers installer. When I first tried I would get an error that said "BootCamp x64 not supported". I finally figured out a way to get around that by running BootCamp.msi through command prompt (with the aid of this guide- http://tsentas.net/bootcamp-x64-unsupported/), but once the drivers installed and it rebooted, everything was completely screwy. The display is choppy in certain sections of the screen, and the computer takes at least a minute to excute any command, like highlighting a file I've clicked on (let alone actually load an application). It is effectively unusable in its current state. Running WIndows in safe mode still works, so it's certainly the drivers. What should I do? I suppose I can uninstall the drivers, but where can I find a version of the drivers that works? And has anyone heard of this problem before? I've looked around but don't see anything.
Oh, and for what it is worth, I had pre-installed a few third-party drivers prior to getting the installer to run, such as Trackpad++ (added multi-touch functionality), RocketDock (adds a Mac-like Dock), WindowBlinds (alters appearance of toolbar) and an Nvidea Graphics driver I needed to run a game on Steam. Maybe the last of these is causing the problem?

Yeah, I was able to run a system restore in safe mode to immediately before I ran the installer and everything is back to normal. I figure I'll add drivers individually as I need them from here on out. That way I'll at least know which driver is causing the problem if things get messed up again.

The Windows Font Cache Service service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some Services stop automatically if they are not in use by other services or programs. Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated!

    Hi micrey! It works!
    1. Type “services.msc” into the Start Search
    bar and hit Enter.
    2. Find the Windows Font Cache Service, select
    it and hit “Stop”.
    3. Open Windows Explorer and navigate to “C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local”

    4. Delete the FontCache dat files. (They will
    be regenerated over time.)
    5. Restart the Windows Font Cache Service.

  • Service 'MSExchangeTransport' failed to start

    Good morning all,
I am trying to install exchange 2010 on a Windows 2008 R2 sp1 server.  We have an existing exchange 2003 instance on our old server, a windows 2003 sp2 SBS server.  We had an awful lot of DNS problems and active directory troubles when getting
this server installed (its a domain controller) but everything seems to be ok.  However, whenever I try to install exchange I get the following error:
"Service 'MSExchangeTransport' failed to start. Check the event log for possible reasons for the service start failure"
I've ensured that IPv6 is enabled, I've checked that the .net port sharing service is started and I've tried changing the service to run as a local user with access to the desktop, I'm still getting the same error.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hi
Do you see any event error ?
You can open ExchangeSetup.log and find out the reason.
       I just search same cases.
The cause of the problem is that the msExchServerSite attribute on the server object does not get updated automatically and the Microsoft Exchange Service Fails to start.
      open adsiedit
       a. Browsed to location: CN=USA,CN=Sites,CN=Configuration,DC=exchange,DC=local
    b. Copied the distinguishedName value of the site and pasted it in a notepad.
    c. Again browsed to location: CN=Servers,CN=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT),CN=Administrative Groups,CN=Exchange,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=exchange,DC=local
    d. Kept refreshing this location until my Exchange 2010 HT server name papered there. The moment it appeared I did the below steps real quick.
    e. Opened Properties and located attribute:
    msExchServerSite
    f. Double clicked on the attribute and pasted the value that I copied from site distinguishedName.

You either download drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant and save to USB FAT disk, or you insert and use 10.6.x OS X DVD when in Windows and install and run the SETUP from there.

Step 4: Install the Boot Camp Drivers for Windows
After installing Windows, install Mac-specific drivers and other software for Windows using your Mac OS X installation disc.  The Mac OS X disc installs drivers to support Mac components, including AirPort,built-in iSight camera, the Apple Remote, the trackpad on a portable Mac, and thefunction keys on an Apple keyboard.
The Mac OS X disc also installs the Boot Camp control panel for Windows and theApple Boot Camp system tray item.
To install the Boot Camp drivers:
1 Eject the Windows installation disc.
2 Insert the Mac OS X disc.  If the installer doesn’t start automatically, browse the disc using Windows Explorerand double-click the setup.exe file in the Boot Camp directory.
    3 Follow the onscreen instructions.
If a message appears that says the software you’re installing has not passed Windows  Logo testing, click Continue Anyway.
Windows that appear only briefly during the installation don’t require your input.
If nothing appears to be happening, there may be a hidden window that you mustrespond to. Check the taskbar and look behind open windows.
Important: Do not click the Cancel button in any of the installer dialogs.
4 After your computer restarts, follow the instructions in the Found New Hardware  Wizard to update your software drivers (Windows XP only).
5 Follow the instructions for any other wizards that appear.
6 Check for updated Boot Camp drivers by using Apple Software Update or going to www.apple.com/support/bootcamp.
If You Have Problems Installing the Device Drivers
If it appears that the Boot Camp drivers weren’t successfully installed, try repairing them.
    To repair Boot Camp drivers:
1 Start up your computer in Windows.
2 Insert your Mac OS X installation disc.
3 If the installer doesn’t start automatically, browse the disc using Windows Explorerand double-click the setup.exe file in the Boot Camp directory.
4 Click Repair and follow the onscreen instructions.
If a message appears that says the software you’re installing has not passed Windows  Logo testing, click Continue Anyway.
If you need to reinstall specific drivers, you can install one driver at a time. For example,if your built-in iSight camera isn’t working, you can reinstall just the iSight driver.
Individual drivers are in the Drivers folder on the Mac OS X installation disc.

    1. Shut down the DB, and make sure it won't automatically restart.
    2. Right click on my computer, go to manage.
    3. in manage, expand the services 'menu' (on right window).
    4. Press on services. That should bring up a list of all the services, running or

(You can also check the services from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services)
Run regedit (Start > Run > Enter "regedit", click "Ok"), find and check the following keys:
