Service Master Agreement Type

Hi all,
We have an requirement for using the service master agreement type  for one our project.
Can anyone help in undertanding this agreement type.
Regards,
Priya

Hi
Service master agreement type is nothing but agreement with sub agreements. SAP here suggest that you treat service as a sub agreement thereby keeping track of various milestones etc. However in SAP ECC services are not individual contracts rather there is a seperate master data component (service master).
Since there is no integration, decision you need to make is whether you want to treat service as an individual sub agreement or a material in e sourcing as there is no seperate master data component for services in e sourcing. Based on business requirement you can proceed further.

  • Transfering Between CLM Master Agreement Folder Types

    Hello,
    How do I transfer a CLM master agreement to another CLM master agreement folder type?  For example, an existing CLM Legal master agreement will need to be transferred to a CLM HR master agreement (using the new HR master agreement type numbering table).
    Thanks,
    Adrian

    Hi Adrian,
    If I understand your requirement correct, you would like to convert Master Agreement created from Legal Master Agreement type to a new HR Master Agreement.
    CLM does not allow to change the Master Agreement Type i.e. the Document type, once the MA is created.
    You will need to create a new MA using the HR Master Agreement type, if it has been already defined/configured in the MA Types.
    I hope this helps.

  • A link to create master agreement in a user defined object

    Hi guys,
    We have a requirement wherein we need to put a toolbar link in a UDO to create a master agreement. Certain fields from the UDO needs to be carried over to the master agreement.
    Any pointers would be extremely helpful..

    hi reshma,
    Here is the code for contract creation. Please Note: Other mandatory fields, depending on your MAster agreement document type has to be set before you save the Contract.
    contractHome =IBeanHomeLocator.lookup(session, ContractIBeanHomeIfc.sHOME_NAME);
    //Creates a contract bean. The input parameter is an Master Agreement type
    contractBean = contractHome.create("master agreement typet");
    /Set the Required fields in the contract/
    //example to set few fields
    valueTypeHome=IBeanHomeLocator.lookup(session,ValueListTypeIBeanHomeIfc.sHOME_NAME);
    valueTypeBean=valueTypeHome.findByExternalId("master_agreement_status");
    valueBean=valueTypeBean.getCollnValueListValue().get(0);
    contractBean.setStatusRef(valueBean.getLocalizedObjectReference());
    //set display name
    contractBean.setDisplayName("Test"+doc.getDisplayName());
    //Set currency
    contractBean.setCurrency(doc.getCurrency());
    //set effective date
    contractBean.setEffectiveDate(TypeFactory.createSysDate(new java.util.Date()));
    //set base date
    contractBean.setBaseDate(doc.getBaseDate());
    //set contact info
    vendorCollection = doc.getCollnVendors();
    vendorRef=vendorCollection.get(0);
    contact=vendorRef.getContactObjRef();
    contractBean.dbSetContactRef(contact);
    contractBean.dbSetVendorRef(vendorRef.getVendorObjRef());
    /Set other necessary information in the contract bean/
    //Save the Contract
    contractHome.save(contractBean);

  • Service master for freight, pallet charges instead of SD Condition types

    HI SD experts,
    In our project, we are using service master (eg: MDELIVERY etc.,) for capturing delivery charges instead of SD condition type.
    Now, we are considering to change the practice and use SD condition type instead, for delivery charges. This is required now, since we are planning to post from SD to CO-PA.
    What am trying understand is, why service masters are used in the first place instead of SD condition type for delivery charges? Could some one through some light from logistics perspective on what is the logic for using service masters.
    Thanks for your time.

    Hi,
    I suggest you go for SD condition,
    Add one more frieght condition in your existiong pricing procedure, and you can flow this condition value to COPA.
    If you want to bill actual fright charges to customer in addition of material price then you have to explore TRANSPORTATION Module.

  • SERVICE  PO using service master and service PO using Material Type DIEN

    Dear Gurus can you differenciate between SERVICE  PO using service master and service PO using Material Type DIEN ?
    Regards
    Vinod Suresh Kakade

    Hi,
    Material type DIEN is used for when you offer "SERVICE" to your customer.
    When you are procuring "SERVICE" from your vendor, you can use external service management where service master is used (Steps are PO created in ME21N with Item Cat. "D" with Acc. ***. Cat. "K" or "C", ML81N, MIRO & F-53).
    In Standard DIEN material type designed for Sales usage only, but you can use DIEN for Purchase also to avoid External Services Management.

  • Service master and  material type 'service'

    Hi everybody.
    I am a bit confused about "Service"
    There is a service master that we can use to store and procure service.
    Also we can use material master to store 'service' using material type 'service' and procure service in that way.
    I want to know what is the difference between the two ? When shall I use what ?

    Hi
    If you do not want to use 'External Service Management', you can use materials of type Service (DIEN).
    This will be similar to any other account assigned material PO with free text. Instead of using free text, you are using material master and also helps you in identifyign service purchases from other material purchases. You will not use item category 'D' in this case. You do GR here.
    Service masters are used when you use item category 'D' ('External Service Management'). There are additional flexibility of defining service specifications, service outlines, using service entry sheet etc here.
    Best regards
    Ramki

  • Service Master vs. Material Master - Type DIEN (Service)

    We currently use Material Masters (type: DIEN) for procurement of all external services. I've been told it wasn't a good practice and that Service Masters should be adapted for this purpose. Is that so? I am now preparing a business case for implementation of Service Masters. What benefits are there for using the Service Masters and Service Type Purchase Orders instead of DIEN Material Masters?

    Hi,
    Material type DIEN is used for when you offer "SERVICE" to your customer.
    For procurement of service from vendor you can use process of External Services Management where you have service master (AC03). In this process Purchase order/Service order( you can have separate PO document type)created with  Acc. assignment ' K' ( or C or P of F as requirement) and Item category 'D' , the system automatically pick UOM is "1" activity unit in Item Overview and in item details you need to maintain the service master ,UOM, quantity & price /unit and then G/L account with cost center created .
    Next steps you create Service Entry Sheet (SES), here you are just recognizing vendor performed service where you can see cost object (cost center), quantity of service to be provided already & save the document. No FI document created after creating/maintaining the Service Entry Sheet but once you release the Service Entry Sheet, then only FI document created.
    Now you can do MIRO with respect to Service Entry Sheet which already recognized and accepted.
    Finally you can do payment to service vendor in F-53.
    NOTE:
    You can create u201CNu201D numbers of Service Entry Sheet (SES) with respect to Service order, till the all quantity received.
    You can create MIRO w.r.t Service Entry Sheet and pay to vendor based on part service completed.

    HI,
    Adding to what Sudipta has said, you can also use the workbook technique for accomplishing these type of changes. That way you can achieve all hover text changes in one shot across all MA tabs.
    The 2 main tabs in the wokbook to be changed are: 'Localized Resource' and 'UI overrides' tab.
    As an example, suppose you want to add the following text for Master Agreement External Category field:
    "This field is a classification hierarchy to describe the products or services of the event and/or agreement."
    So in the Localized resource tab, fill out the following:
    BUNDLE: custom
    RESOURCE_ID: xxx
    RESOURCE_KIND: APP_TEXT
    DEFAULT_VALUE: This field is a classification hierarchy to describe the products or services of the event and/or agreement.
    Then refer the same attributes in the UI Overrides tab:
    UI_ID: contracts.agreement.ui.buyside.default
    FIELD: EXT_CAT
    ATTRIBUTE: Description
    VALUE: Same as Resource ID used in localized resource (xxx above)
    Hope this helps,

  • Unable to capture field values in Master agreement  Line Items

    I am trying to get the field values from master agreement line items page. I have written the following code to get the line item details which is working fine to capture part number and quantity->
    agreementBean = doc.getRootParentIBean();
    lineItemCollection = agreementBean.getLineItems();
    collectionsize = lineItemCollection.size();
    for(i=0;i<collectionsize;i++){
         collectionbean = lineItemCollection.get(i);
         partNum = ""+collectionbean.getPartNumber() ;
         Quantity = ""+collectionbean.getQuantity();
         throw doc.createApplicationException(null,partNum + " , " + Quantity );
    Now, my problem is that I am unable to capture the following field item values in the master agreement > line items page.
    1. Price Unit
    2. Unit Price
    3. Product Category
    4. Plant
    Please help me to find the values.
    Thankx in Advance.

    This will return the name of the plant.
    .getExtensionField("PLANT").get().getDisplayName(session);
    Check if this returns the product category
    collectionbean.getExtensionField("ITEM_CAT").get().getDisplayName();
    This will Return the Price
    collectionbean.getExtensionField("PRICE").get().getPrice();
    (return type :BigDecimal)
    This will return the currency
    collectionbean.getExtensionField("PRICE").get().getCurrency;
    (Return type:String)
    Similarly to retrieve other fields for which there are no standard functions, use .getExtensionField("Field ID")
    Hope this helps

  • BOM in Scheduling agreement (Type LZ)

    HI
    I am using scheduling agreement (Type LZ) for maintaining my sales plan for a period of 4 months. (1st one month - daily & subsequent months as weekly requirements). Ii would create delivery and invoices for each supply.
    Pricing previously was based on the finished product (basic price for product was available). SO there was no problem.
    <u>New requirement:</u>
    finished Product above - is made up of components. Now, price should be derived from components. For this I have enabled SD Bom for my finish product.
    But the problem is when i use the Finish product code in scheduling agreement type LZ, the BOM doesn't explode (it explodes in other scheduling agreement types, say LP)
    Clarification:
    1. Is it possible to calculate price of the higher level material by summing up the components' price?, with out BOM explosion
    2. Is BOM explosion possible in scheduling agreement with delivery schedule (LZ).
    Note:
    1. Necessary settings for item category & BOM master already in place.
    2. BOM is exploding in sales order and other sheduling types, except doc type LZ.

    If it is maintained as error message, it does not allow me to maintain delivery schedule more than target quantity of 100 EA. Also the overdelivery tolerance is maintained as 20 %, so it should allow me to maintain delivery schedule of 120 EA, but it does not allow me to maintain greater than target quantity of 100 EA. Please let me know your comments.

  • Creation of Service Master Record (Furniture and Fixture Maintenance)

    Hi,
    I want to create a Service Master for "Furniture and Fixture Maintenance".
    What should I keep in mind while creating a Service Master Record.
    Would like to know the about the following fields which seems to be useful:
    Activity Number:
    Base Unit of Measure:
    Material Service Group:
    Division:
    Valuation Class
    Service Type
    Is there any other fields which I should keep in mind.
    Regards,

    Thanks Murgun for the reply.
    Sorry for late response from my side.
    1. What is use of Service Category. Do we need to use the default or we need to configure as per our requirement.
    2. while creating Service Order, we need to enter Single Short Text in Item & Multiple Short Texts in Item Details. What is the actual use of providing  Multiple Short Texts in Item Details.
    3. Can we use the Service Master in both in Item Short Text & Item Details Short Texts.

    Hi Tom,
    Sorry for the delay. We can exclude the media factor since you were able to install it on VM with this media.
    If I understand correctly, Shanky said “Abve message can also appear due to corrupt profile so deleteting old profile and creating new one and using this to install would also help.Make sure you always RK on setup.exe and select run as administrator” which
    means your user account may be corrupted rather than the Virtual account. You can create a new Windows user account and use it to log into the system. Then, re-try the installation.

  • How to change the standard query "Create a Master Agreement" by a custom one

    Hello Sourcing CLM experts,
    I would need to replace the standard query displayed when the user tries to create a Master Agreement by a custom query to filter the MA types according to some criteria:
    According to this post: Re: Create security profile for a document template in SAP Sourcing, I've tried to achieve it by doing the following steps:
    Create a new query as a copy of exsiting query FCI-ContractTypes
    Modify query group FCI-ContractTypesBP to include my custom query instead of the standard one to only list the MAType "Standard Master Agreement"
    Following you can see the change done into the query group FCI-ContractTypesBP:
    However, standard query has not been replaced and same set of MA Types are listed.
    Therefore, I would like to ask you:
    Is it possible to do this kind of modifications? If so, which query group need to be modified?
    If it is not possible, is there any other way to achieve that requirement?
    Thanks in advance for your time and support!
    Best regards,
    Isaac

    Hello again experts,
    If this query cannot be modified, is there any option to disable button below? Or at lease, to disable the query group to avoid the listing of MA Types when it is pressed?
    The reason is because we are going to set up the system in the way that only it will be possible to create Master Agreements from Template. However, if user keep on using that button he will be able to create MA from document types.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks again and best regards,
    Isaac

  • Service Master and Material Master relation

    Hi Friends,
    Our client requirement is to procure and sale same services.
    and client wants to post the services to different G/L accounts for ex: if I am raising a sale order or Purchase order,
    then for each different service line item to be posted to different G/L accounts.
    Initially I thought of creating the service master with different valuation classes but when the same thing comes to sales then with service master they cannot create the sale order.
    Hence kindly advice in this case whether to go with the service master creation and create the PO's with the service masters
    or   go with the creation of material master with the services material type with different valuation classes?
    Thanks in Advance.
    regards,
    Sasi Kanth J

    Hi,
    For services the concerned entries have to be maintained in table T030.
    The system will then suggest the G/L accounts as per the valuation class
    maintained in table T030 (Standard Accounts Table, transaction OBYC).
    The system will determine the
    G/L account depending on the following criteria:
    T001K-BWMOD
    BKLAS
    T001-KTOPL
    T163K-KOMOK
    Services level is one level below materials, which results in
    some inherent restrictions compared to materials. In case of
    services the values have to be maintained in the table T030.

  • DIEN vs. service master record

    Hello gurus,
    I know there are two ways of maintaining master data for services:
    - Material master records with material type DIEN
    - service master records
    Now, what are the pros and cons of each alternative?
    One thing I found out is that if I use DIEN-materials there is no way to record the provision of the service because there can be no goods receipt for DIEN-materials, correct?
    What factors did I miss?
    Thanks
    Alicia

    Thank you to both of you,
    first of all, Kishore, you are perfectly right: A goods receipt can be performed for DIEN-materials, too. I got that one mixed up with service items in purchasing orders.
    But then, the two answers unfortunatlly are a little contradictionary. In my view DIEN-materials can be used for procurement, too. So the sole difference for the process is that service master records are more detailed in reference to recording what exactly has been done and how long it took?
    That means, if I only nead a means to record if a service has been provided or not (without recording any times etc.), DIEN materials are sufficient, correct?
    Thanks again
    Alicia
