Service name in linksys configuration ?

Hello everybody,
Does anyone know how to enter the service name in the configuration of the linksys router?
I have a linksys wrt54grv11 wireless router and it seems that it doesn't have a service name option?
They told me that maybe there is a software out there that i can download in order to be able to enter the service name in the configuration of the router.
Thank you very much.

When i choose PPPoE i have to enter also the service name ( its the server to which i have to connect i think) it is called Rabbit.
Thank you very much

• NET8I 서비스 이름(SERVICE NAME) 사용 방법

제품 : SQL*NET
작성날짜 : 2000-05-31
Oracle 8i 미만 버젼에서는 Oracle SID(System Identification) 정보만을 이용
하여 클라이언트에서 서버로의 접속이 이루어졌으나, Oracle 8i부터 새로이 소개된
Service Name을 이용하여 데이타베이스에 접속할 수 있게 되었다.
그러나 만일 Service Name을 적절히 기술되지 않으면 다음과 같은 오류를 만나게
되므로 그 사용 방법을 다루고자 한다.
"ORA-12514 :TNS - Could not resolve service name"
"ORA-12154 :TNS - Could not resolve service name"
Net8 Easy Configuration 또는 Net8 Assistant 도구에서 Net Service Name을
입력하여야 하며, SERVICE_NAME은 TNSNAMES.ORA 화일에 CONNECT_DATA 절에
기술하여 하며, 과거 버젼의 (SID=<SIDname>) 절을 대치시킨 것이다.
SERVICE_NAME을 TNSNAMES.ORA에 지정하는 방법은 다음 세 가지로 가능하다.
(1) 만일 LISTENER.ORA에 GLOBAL_DBNAME 파라메터가 지정되어 있다면, 그 이름
을 이용한다.
(참고로 GLOBAL_DBNAME은 init 파라메터 <DB_NAME>.<DB_DOMAIN>의 형태로
구성된다.)
listener.ora:
SID_LIST_LISTENER =
(SID_LIST =
(SID_DESC =
(GLOBAL_DBNAME = RC815.o200.kr.oracle.com)
(ORACLE_HOME = /mnt3/rctest8i/app/oracle/product/8.1.5)
(SID_NAME = RC815)
tnsnames.ora:

(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = tcp)(HOST = o200)(PORT = 1588))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = RC815.o200.kr.oracle.com)
(2) 초기화 파라메터 <SERVICE_NAMES>.<DB_DOMAIN>의 형태를 이용한다.
(참고로 SERVICE_NAMES의 디폴트 값은 <DB_NAME>.<DB_DOMAIN>이므로
SERVICE_NAMES이 명시적으로 지정되어 있지 않으면 <DB_NAME>.<DB_DOMAIN>
형태의 지정이 가능하다.)
init<SID>.ora:
SERVICE_NAMES = MYDB
DB_DOMAIN = o200.kr.oracle.com
tnsnames.ora:
ora815 =
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = MYDB.o200.kr.oracle.com)
만일 둘 이상의 service name의 지정이 필요한 경우에는 다음과 같이
init<SID>.ora화일에 SERVICE_NAMES에 이름을 연속하여 지정한 후 사용할 수 있다.
init<SID>.ora:
SERVICE_NAMES = MYDB1, MYDB2
DB_DOMAIN = o200.kr.oracle.com
tnsnames.ora:
ora815_A =
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = MYDB1.o200.kr.oracle.com)
ora815_B =
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = MYDB2.o200.kr.oracle.com)
(3) 마지막으로 init<SID>.ora에 DB_DOMAIN 파라메터가 없고, listener.ora에도
GLOBAL_DBNAME이 없는 경우에는 간단히 SID 값을 사용한다.
tnsnames.ora:
ora815 =
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVICE_NAME = ORA815)
)

또한 원격 oracle에 접속하는 경우라면 로컬에서는 LISTENER.ora에서 특별히 설정 해 줄건 없는 건가요?

• IFS 9 : TNS:could not resolve service name

Hello,
I have this message when Trying to connect in Java to IFS 1.2 :
oracle.ifs.common.IfsException: IFS-21008: Unable to connect to
iFS service
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service
name
I have been developing with IFS 1.16 for a while but now I have
to upgrading to IFS 9 (1.2). To set up my development
environment I did the same thing that I did for the version 1.1.6
1- Copying all Jar from D:\oracle\ora90\9ifs\lib and I had
them to my classpath
2- Copying the folders under D:\oracle\ora90\9ifs\settings
to have access to the IfsDefault.properties. file.
3- I got the new JDBC driver and Oracle Client 9 on my
developer station.
IfsDefault.properties is pointing to the right TSN. When I test
my TSN (orcl) with the SQL+ it works just fine. I tried to use a
Invalid Ifs Service Name instead of IfsDefault too see if I got
a different error message and no, I got the same error. It looks
like the environment doesn’t find the IfsDefault.properties
file ?
Any Idea of it could be ?
There is the code that I use to connect :
LibraryService service = new LibraryService();
CleartextCredential cred = new CleartextCredential
(username, password);
ConnectOptions options = new ConnectOptions();
options.setLocale(Locale.getDefault());
options.setServiceName(repository);
options.setServicePassword(repositoryPass);
_ifsSession = service.connect(cred, options);
// Doit mettre explicitement le Admin flag dans la
Session
DirectoryUser user = _ifsSession.getDirectoryUser();
_ifsSession.setAdministrationMode(user.isAdminEnabled
_logger.info("user " + user +"  is now connected to
Ifs " + repository + ", " + _loggedUserCounter + " connected.");
Thank you

Hello,
I am faced with a fundamental problem:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve service name
I can say with a high level of confidence that the TNSNAMES.ora configuration file is not the problem. My peer is using the exact same file with no issues. I am using the TOAD database utility to connect to the db host. Also, I have ORACLE_HOME defined and the file is located in /network/ADMIN.
Any ideas?

• Listener_scan1 could not find service name

I have installed 11203 on 2 node RAC cluster. I have created 1 scan listener. when i give lsnrctl status LISTENER_SCAN1, I am getting below error
TNS-01101: Could not find service name LISTENER_SCAN1
Please give your suggestions and help on this issue.
Thanks,

HI,
Try to configure the tnsnames.ora in this format and let me know
if you are using load balancing , try
TBESTDB =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node1_vip)(PORT = 1531))
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = node2_vip)(PORT = 1531))
(LOAD_BALANCE = yes)
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = TBESTDB)
And you can add below if you would like to connect to specific instance
RAC1 =
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = rac1-vip)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = rac.oracle.com)
(INSTANCE_NAME = rac1)
RAC2=
(DESCRIPTION =
(ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = rac2-vip)(PORT = 1521))
(CONNECT_DATA =
(SERVER = DEDICATED)
(SERVICE_NAME = rac.oracle.com)
(INSTANCE_NAME = rac2)
Note: Replace the SID, Servicename, hostname, port etc according to your environment, And also make sure that the tnsnames.ora should be in a proper format(eg : even the opening and closing bracket should be in correct order. If u add additional space also it will throw error..)

• Service Name

Hi,
I have installed Oracle 8.1.6 fo Win 98 on my computer. How can I configure listener.ora, sqlnet.ora and tnsnames.ora to use Service Name: Test.
I need to use this any service name on localhost without connecting to the network.

Dear Ondrej,
The easiest way to configure the TNS network after successfully installing the Oracle8i software is to use one of the GUI-based tools - Net8 Configuration Assistant or Net8 Assistant (my choice).
After you become familiar with the ".ora" files in the <ORACLE_HOME>/Network/Admin directory, you may even edit these files directly using any text editor.
By the way: Do check your Release Notes and verify the operating systems that are compatible with the Oracle8i software you have.
Ciao!

• Get port number,host name,service name from database

Is there any way to know the host name,port number, sid and the service name of a particular instance from the database.

> Is there any way to know the host name,port number, sid and the service name
of a particular instance from the database.
Why?
The host name in the HOST_NAME column of V$INSTANCE for example, may not be the hostname/IP address that the local Listener listens for connections on. Or the Listener can listen on that host name/IP and several other local IP addresses.
The port number used for listening for connections by clients, are determined by the Listener's configuration.
Thus if you can explain the requirement for this info, maybe the forum can provide better and more specific answers.

• Host name, port number and service name

Hi!
I have a question that will sound easy and stupid, but not for me.
during the instal of 9iAS.There is a screen ask to provide the host name,port number and service name.
Did host anme is only the name of my PC?
and what is the port number?(windows XP)
what is the format of the service name (orcl)?
Thanks
Kamal

if you used LDW as the connection/service name when you setup this connection to CMS DB, then no further changes to BOE configurations will be needed.
If you used the service name PO and now it is changes to NEW_PO - then you'll have to update CMS DB connection info in CCM>SIA>Properties>Connection.
See Admin guide for details.
p.s.
BOE services should be stopped while your changes on Oracle side are done and before you change the TNS file and connection info in CCM.

• RV320 "Service name should be different"

I purchased a Cisco RV320 last week and am trying to set up port forwarding on it. I already have 5 rules enabled, and they all work. However, whenever I try to add a new rule, I get the error "Service Name should be different!", which is undocumented anywhere. If I try to delete an existing port forwarding rule, then I get the error "Critical failure. Please contact support." The router is running the latest firmware 1.1.1.06.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to get port forwarding working again? I would prefer to avoid a reset to defaults at all costs because the router is located 200 miles away and the people who I would have to talk to on the site to reconfigure it have nearly zero experience with networking.
Thanks for the help in advance.

Hi,
Could you share more details about the configuration of the device. Is it possible that you configured the device with the port forwarding rules and after that you made firmware upgrade?
Also for the error message "Service Name should be different!", are you trying to use a service name which already exist? Because if it is the case, the name itself has a meaning only for the router itself, it is not shared over the network.

Kremena

• Changed Service Name not being used

Hi all,
Here is the scenario, I am using ABAP proxy to send data to XI system, earlier the business system was called BUS_SYS in the SLD, later we changed it to JI0220 in accordance with the naming conventions.
Subsequently the Business system and corresponding entries in the integration directory have also been updated.
The problem that I am facing is, when I try to send the message to the XI system using the same proxies I had earlier the service name being used is BUS_SYS, it doesn’t get updated to JI0220. I have tried clearing of the SLD cache o the XI system, but this had no impact on the message being sent.
Is there a step that I am missing in configuration and or implementation?
Looking forward to your suggestions.
Regards,
Aniruddha

i have checked teh cache on teh integration server and it is updated, the cache on the integration engine i.e. the place we are sending messages from is not gettign updated, i though did find a table named LCRT_CLNTCACHE, where i updated the business system name and subsiquently the messages started working.
if there is some other method of updating the cache of the integration engine without chaging the table entry physically do let me know.
regards,

• ORA-12154 TNS could not resolve service name error

Hi
I'm having trouble connecting to database throug sql*plus.I'm able to connect through TOAD but getting 'ORA-12154 TNS could not resolve service name error' when trying to login through sql*plus using same credentials .
I tried running sqlplus through command prompt,but when i enter the user-name i'm getting ORA-12203:TNS:unable to connect to destination.
Can someone help me with this error.
Thanks.

It would probably give you an idea where to start looking. You need to make sure that you have the correct .ora files needed for establishing connections. I don't know if your service desk just does the installation but no setup or if they also do the setup configuration. You can also try doing the setup on your own to check. You can use net easy config.
