Service object linking

I do not find any icon at the header or line item level which indicates me if any attachment or notes linked to the maintenance object if any...To be more clear if i attach any document to the notification thru DMS I see an icon in the notification tab page at header level which indicates that a document exists . But when i attach any attachment at service object level i have no indication to see whether a document is attached or no...How can i come to know it..Please assist.

Hello,
I did not get you what exact you are looking for.
With respect your Nomiation DMS attachment and GOS attachment..
DMS works on KPRO functionality and GOS works on Archivelink functionality.
As you are aware that DMS provides greater advantage in managing the document changes, version, so on but same thing is not possible in GOS attachment.
GOS functionality is available in most of the SAP business document where ever it is required.
Please specify if there is any specific object that you want to know on GOS or DMS functionality.
You have also mention that Maintanence order not able to find GOS .. Did you cross check the authorization object related to GOS assigned to maintanence order or not? I feel it should be authorization issue.
-Thanks,
Ajay

  • DMS Object Link at Maintenence Order and Service order level

    Hi SAP Gurus,
We had a requirement for maintaining DMS Object at Service order and maintenence order level, as Standard DMS does not provide any Standard Object link at Order level, we went for development and following the Standard procedure i could bring the Order Tab in CV01N Object Links, and also i could search the relavent maintenence order and maintain documents relevant to it,
But the biggest problem now is i could not create DIR from the Maintenence or service order screen IW31, and the document i have placed at the order is not visible in the order screen at all,
i know it is some sort of enhancement in the Order screen to allow DMS Documents to appear in the Order screen to provide this funtionality.
let me pls know what exactly has to be done, as there is no config at the order level to get the DMS Screen, as DMS is not a standard object at the order level.
one approch as suggested is modifiying the Order screen or using Screen Exit Enhancement for Order but not sure which one to use or how to move ahead,
    Thanks n Regards

    Dear Christoph Hopf
    Many Thanks for your answer,
i went through the said SAP Note, but it only speaks about the notifications level, where SAP itself has provided the standard DMS Object links, and iam in latest ECC-6 version where this note  is taken care of i think,
iam looking for creating DMS Document (DIR) from the maintenence Order IW31 transaction screen, and have developed new Object link for Maintenence order,
but the main problem is, iam not able to create DIR from the IW31 Screen directly as Maintennce order is not a standard SAP Object,
please let me know how to get the list of documents that i have attached to a maintenence order to appear in the IW32 maintenence order screen, and also we need to create the documents (DIR) directly from IW31 / 32 screens.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Object Link to Customer Service Order

I have setup the object link in DMS and was able to insert the Customer Service Order to a Document Number. However, I do not see the Document Number when I view a Customer Service Oder. What is the correct path to view the Document Number from a Customer Service Order?

    Hi Christoph,
I have already maintained the screens for object link (AFKO). I created a new screen as well and therefore I was able to assign the Customer Service Order in transaction (CV01N/CV02N).
However, when I go to the Customer Service Order (IW32 / IW33), I wasn't able to see the Doc Info Rec number.

  • Is there a limit on number of object links to DIR, and any impacts of this

    Hello All,
Can you please let us know if there is any limit on the No of Object links to be maintained in the Object Link tab of DIR,
Our major Concern comes as there is One DIR logo / symbol, which is maintained in most of the Material Master around 1000s
and also the same DIR is used in all the Service and maintenance Notification as an Attachment, so the list of Object link in DIR Object link tab  is going beyond control above 10000s,
i wanted to know if there is any limit on no of Object links to be maintained in DIR object links, and is there any impact on DMS functionality if the list is ever increasing,
( also can i know if there is any workaround that the DIR is only displayed going in to Material master or Notifications but the same is not listed in the DIR object links tab as here it is going on increasing,)
    Thanks and kind regards
    Kumar S

    Hello Christoph and Every one,
Thanks for the responses given, and providing a hint not to have many Object links, as it could be an performance issue going to the DMS DIR Object link TAB,
But in this particular case we are not assigning the Objectlinks going by the DMS Object links TAB, but it is done in other way round, going by the Equipment or Notification Screens,
There are few Health and safety document ( Which is created as a DIR in DMS) which needs to be assigned in  Most of the Equipment and the new notifications created, and this document DIR is assigned from the Equipment and notification Screen,
And we may not be interested to go to the DIR to browse and Assign the Object Links, so as we do not frequently go and check the DIR or Use DIR Object link TAB for Object Link assignment will it in any ways cause performance Issue here??
And also as asked earlier can we have a one way attachment like the DIR is Visible in the Equipment or Notification Screen, but the DIR is not adding up the Equipment or Notification details in its Object links TAB, (by development or it is totally illogical to ask for)
    Thanks and Kind regards

  • Open link in object link for calling sap R/3 Transaction.

    Hi all,
Can anyone help with the steps to be done in order to call an SAP Transaction in cProjects via services to Object Links. We succeeded to get the object links from R/3, we are  able  to see the 'open' link under 'Application' in the Object Link Tab for  some of the object type like Routing, Inspection Plan .
    1. But some of the Object Types like Documents from DMS Etc can be selected and linked but does not have any 'Open'  link(blank).
    2. But some of the object types are not searchable. (The search provided no results; Choose other search criteria ) Message is appearing even though we give the correct search criteria.
Pls guide me to solve the issue
    Thank you,
    Ramesh.

    Hi Dev,
as this thread has been closed in the meantime (the original poster seemed to have found the solution by himself), I'd suggest you post your question as new one.
Or you check the material you can find at [service.sap.com] at the SAP Support Portal. E.g. Release & Upgrade Info >  Installation & Upgrade Guides  > SAP Business Suite Applications > SAP PLM using cProject Suite 4.5 > cProjects: Guide for Implementing Object Links
I think inside this document you can find all the information you need.

  • Need to know Objects Linking for MM Transactions MIGO & ML81N

We have a typical requirement to store & retrieval of Inspection Records / Reports which were used during Goods Receipt in MM i.e QA32 / or MIGO  Transaction & also at service Entry Sheet i.e ML81N  ( MM Transaction ).
Can anyone help how can we achieve this as we are implementing DMS in ECC 6.0 on EHP 5.
The purpose is to store Quality Inspection records while doing Goods inspection in QA32 , & same is doing while passing service entry sheet  ML81n. At any time in future we would be able to pull out soft / PDF copy of inspection reports as certified by Quality dept.

    Hi Umesh,
Please note that SAP DMS doesn't extend any object linking feature for MIGO transaction.A better approach to meet your requirment would be to store documents via Archivelink. The key steps involved are:
    - Content repository definition for Archivelink
    - Document type creation
    -  Assignment of the above document type to MIGO business object BUS2017

  • Disable pushbuttons from Attachment list for Service Object

    Hi,
I want to disable push buttons for delete and edit from the toolbar of Attachment list from service objects.
how can this be achieved ?
    thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Vinayaka

    Hi Sandeep,
I am not totallt getting your point but can suggest following points:
    1. Check whether these object are displaying in DIR's as object links.
    2. If it is there then it shoud be displayed in document data of those objects.
    3. Check that documents are properly checked-in.
    Hope this may help.

  • Object Link to Engineering Record from DIR

    Hello Gurus,
With respect to the below post. I did the config setting and I see only the CASE GUID showing up and not the Engineering Record number.
PLM7 Engineering Record not working as expected
And also I am not able to navigate to my ER from the DIR Object links tab. I have set the screen no as 500 of the specific document type.
Kindly advice if I should the screen no or implement any note to get the ER# in the objects tab instead of the CASE GUID.
    Thanks & Regards
    Jo Pz

    Hi Jo,
you can try to set the following customizings:
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) - PLM Web User Interface - Settings for BO Framework and Navigation - Navigation, Parameter Mapping, and Services - Define Parameters for Parameter Mapping
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) - PLM Web User Interface - Settings for BO Framework and Navigation - Navigation, Parameter Mapping, and Services - Define Mapping of Data Elements to Parameters
Or you can implement the following BAdI:
Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) - PLM Web User Interface - Objects in PLM Web UI - Document in PLM Web UI - BAdI: Enrich Object Link Information

  • Object Link to CRM business object in Trex search result list

    Hello Everyone,
has anybody sucessfully configured the functionality "Object Link Properties" which is described in the Document <a href="http://service.sap.com/~form/sapnet?_SHORTKEY=01100035870000647974&_SCENARIO=01100035870000000112&_OBJECT=011000358700005796662005E">Configuring the Business Package for SAP CRM 5.0 SP01 (EN)</a> on Page 169? I'm not the Knowledge Management specialist and would get some help on this topic. Has anybody detailed steps how to configure this?
It shounds interresting as the result would be that when the User does a full text search for Attached Documents he will also get a link to the original CRM business object like Activity, Account or Opportunity.
    Regards
    Gregor

    Hi Gregor,
    Thanks for your reply.
using windows explorer mechanism i can see the folders that i created in the CRM config.
Now in Portals KM i did the following steps:
    a) Created an HTTP Data Source : with URL = the URL that the service crm_prt_km_dav generates.
    http://abrusux156h.pch.chem.corp.local:8086/sap/crm/crm_prt_km_dav
    b)Created a memory cache
c)Created a WebDAV respository manager with the following details:
    Description :WebDAV
Prefix : /PRD  (PRD is the BO Hierarchy name that i have set in the CRM config)
System ID : T86 (Sames as what was set in HTTP Data Source)
    Repository Service : svc_acl
    ACL Manager cache : ca_cm
    Security manager : ACLSecurityManager
Memory Cache :webDAV(same as what i had set in step b)
I restarted the portal server. and then tried doing the test by going to
    Content Admin ->KM Content ->root
But i dont see the /PRD folder out there.
    Any clues on that???
    Thanks,
    Anand

  • Service objects inside libraries (WAS: Interfaces in Forte -has anyon

The following message is actually not about interfaces, but libraries:
    > From: Jeanne Hesler <[email protected]>
    > To: [email protected] <[email protected]>
    > Date: Thursday, July 30, 1998 11:12 AM
    > Subject: RE: Interfaces in Forte - has anyone used them?
    >>
    > Just to clarify a few things:
    >>
    1) Just to be 100% correct -- it is actually Libraries that areloaded and
not Interfaces. The distinction is important because a librarycould
potentially implement many interfaces (or provide manyimplementations for a
    single interface).
    2) The code in a Library may reference a service object, but itmay not
define a service object. Of course any SO's referenced by thelibrary
must already be known to the loading partition. It is OK to havecode like
    this in a library:
    MySO.doSomething();
The documentation is a little vague on this point, but I haveconfirmed that
this is true through Tech Support and by experimentation.
Actually you CAN define and use service objects inside libraries
(compiled or interpreted) with two restrictions:
    1) You can not define two service objects inside library in different
projects and call one of them from another. If you need that, both
service objects must be in the same project.
    2) If service object is defined and used only by library (if it never
referenced directly by application code), than in order to be able to
partition application, you will need to create dummy method inside
application, which will reference this service object (you do not need
to execute this method - just have in the code).

    Searchable thread archive <URL:http://pinehurst.sageit.com/listarchive/>

The way stateful Web services are currently handled is through the use of cookies ... once your stub invokes a stateful Web service a cookie is created which routes subseqent requests back to the Web service.
In your scenario, the problem is given one client has creates Web service 1 and now Web service 2 would like to be able to use that state it really isn't possible unless you engineer a solution yourself ... you would need so somehow set the cookie on your Web service 2 client to that of the original client to Web service 1. State tends to be based around an individual client versus multiple clients for that state.
There are numerous ways around this but you would be engineering around the issue ... the easiest is to write the state out somewhere so that it can be shared.
This section of the doc gives a brief overview:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/A97688_06/generic.903/b10004/javaservices.htm
Lastly be aware there is a bug with timeouts in stateful Web services in Oracle9iAS 9.0.3 that has been fixed in 9.0.4. I can't find the thread here that documents it but when I track it down I will post the link so you can see the workaround.

  • Attachment error: Object Link type   in UWL

    Hi,
This is regarding the UWL - opening the attachment.
we have integrated the solution manger to the Enterprise portal where
the workflow tasks of the solution manager will be displayed in the UWL
    of the Enterprise portal.
The workitems are displayed properly, but when we try to see the actual
work item attachment it is giving error as follows:
"Attachment error: Object Link type . See log file for details "
The detailed error we have taken from the UWL.log, which displays as
    follows:
    " Mon Mar 12 20:45:42 GMT+05:30
    2007:com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.core.connect.webflow.util.ObjectLinkException: Mon Mar 12 20:45:42 GMT+05:30 2007 CRM Context service has not

    http://ep6devn:50000/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.netweaver.bc.uwl.ui.UWLInformation?key1=AttachmentError&key1_param1= Object Link type .
Similarly if we try to open the same attachment in solution manager by
logging at SAP-GUI frontend i.e. through Tcode:SBWP and selecting the
workitem, choosing the objects and attachments. it is displaying the

    Hi DMS Experts
I want to link DMS Document to a Person in HR via PA10 where we can see data of Person in HR.
Also I need help in linking new object to DMS.If these object are not in standard Object link configuration in Define Docuemnt Types.

Object links to other SAP objects
You can make an object link to SAP objects that are not shown in the
possible entries list. To do this, proceed as follows:
o   In the standard system, there are already two special screens for
the module pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 for the linked SAP object.
You must create two new screens with the same number for the module
            pools SAPLCV130 and SAPLCV140 .
The processing logic must follow that of screen 1204 in program
            SAPLVC130.
o   Create function module OBJECT_CHECK_XXXX (XXXX = object name)
    -   If the object can be classified, this function module already

    -   Otherwise copy the function module for linking equipment
DOCUMENT_CHECK_EQUI and change it as required for the new
This is little bit technical and I am not able to understand.

    Hi,
from my point of view the best way to manage these documents in the HR transaction PA10, PA20, PA30 instead linking documents to HR objects.
In the standard there is no suitable object for document-object links. Please see all the available SAP standard objects in SE80, function group CV130 under screens.
So you can go to PA30 and use the service for object button in the upper left corner. Here you can add business documents for each person.

  • Calling an SAP Transaction in cProjects Object Links

    Hi all,
Can anyone help with the steps to be done in order to call an SAP Transaction in cProjects via services to Object Links. We succeeded to get the object links from R/3, but we are not able yet to see the 'open' link under 'Application' in the Object Link Tab. I read some documentation, it seems that an ITS server is required... Has anyone succeeded to do the right setting?
    Thank you,
    Lacramioara

    Hi Lacramioara,
You have to enter the ITS Web server name in the Web Server field (IMG activity “Make Settings for Calling an SAP Transaction"). The server is required if you want to call a Web application for processing a linked object.

    "INIT_404"
I hv included my custome screen in SAPLCV130. i dnt hv any issue in cv01n, cv02n,cv03n.
Plz help me to resolve this issue.
    Regards
    Janani.

    Hi Janani,
This error is typically observed incase a object maintained for one of the document types uses a non-existing screen number.
This behavior can be corrected by entering the right screen number or removing the object in the customizing.

  • Easy DMS  - problem with  object linking (unicode client)

    Hi Gurus,
I have a problem concerning linking a materialmaster to a DIR in a uniciode environment. I tested following scenarios:
    1) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 non unicode  +  non unicode Backend  -->  no problem
    2) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 non unicode  +  unicode Backend        -->  no problem
    3) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 unicode        +  non unicode Backend  -->  no problem
    4) Easy DMS 6.00 SP10 unicode        +  unicode Backend         --> problem
Following Problem appears in scenario 4:
Our Material Number Format is ______-____-___ (6 digits - 4 digits - 3 digits), "Lexicographical" is disabled, "Leading Zeros" is enabled.
When I type in material number "111111-2222-333" and press "check all objects and read description" Easy DMS reads the description for
111111-2222-333 but after that easy dms changes 111111-2222-333 to 000001-1111-122 and when I try to save the DIR it tells me that
000001-1111-122 is not a valid material master.
As I mentioned this only appears with the unicode client + unicode backend. Any Ideas?

    Hi David,
please tell us which version of EasyDMS you use currently. If you do not use EasyDMS 6.00 SP10 I would kindly ask you to see SAP note 1105699 and download this SP from the Service Marketplace.
Further please check if you have maintained the object link customizing correclty in your backend system. Therefore please see the information in the SDN WIKI area for DMS under https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki?path=/display/plm/ca-dms-Object+link
