Service pack level & PI basis level for MAM3.0

Hi All,
We are trying to configure our server with MI2.5 and MAM3.0. Can anybody please tell us what are the levels of the service pack and PI basis levels must be there to work with MAM3.0.
Below are the details of the current service pack level and PI BASIS levels of our server.
SAP_BASIS          640     0020     SAPKB64020          SAP Basis Component
SAP_ABA          640     0020     SAPKA64020          Cross-Application Component
ST-PI          2005_1_640     0003     SAPKITLQH3     SAP Solution Tools Plug-In
PI_BASIS     2005_1_640     0012     SAPKIPYJ6C          Basis Plug-In (PI_BASIS) 2005_1_640
SAP_BW          350     0020     SAPKW35020     SAP_BW 350
PI          2004_1_500     0012     SAPKIPZI6C          PI 2003_1_470 : Add-On Delta Upgrade
<i><b>Note: our Middleware and Backend both are in the same server.</b></i>
Your help in this regard is highly appreciated and rewarded too.
Regards,
Murthy

Hi Murthy,
MAM 3.0 backend minimum requirements are:
R/3 4.6C (minimum SP53) with SAP R/3 Plug-in 2004.1 (Minimum SP13)
R/3 4.7 (Minimum SP 27) with SAP R/3 Plug-in 2004.1 (Minimum SP13)
ERP 2004 (Minimum SP11) with SAP R/3 Plug-in 2004.1 (Minimum SP14)
ERP 2005 (Minimum SP6), no Plug-in required
Please be aware that you will need to apply quite a few notes even if you are on the latest SP level for any of this backends.
MAM 3.0 central note references backend central notes for various supported backend. You should take care that appropriate note is analysed and all notes are implemented.

  • Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition 32 bits Service Pack 2 never finishes searching for updates and use 100% of CPU.

Hi everyone, I am having issues updating a clean Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition 32 bits Service Pack 2, so any help with be appreciated cause I've already tried all my cards for the past 5 days in this particular issue without success.
All I did so far is installing Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise with Service Pack 2, open IE to update, it keeps searching for updates and never stop, after 20mn to 30mn the process svchost.exe start using 100% of my CPU.
I already tried the following scenarios:
1-  Install IE8, install the update KB927891 and the Windows Update Agent 3.0 (I already had this one installed). Reboot and run windows update trough IE8 and the problem did not solved.
2- Install those 2 software "MicrosoftFixit.wu.MATSKB.Run" and "MicrosoftFixit50777", open IE to update, it still hangs and continues eating my CPU. This is the output of "MicrosoftFixit".
Windows Update error 0x8007000D(2014-01-06-T-06_06_34A) --> Not Fixed
Cryptographic service components are not registered (This service is actually running successfully) --> Not Fixed
3- I found the following script that would register some DLL, deleting the "SoftwareDistribution" and forcing windows update to solve the problem and nothing happened either.

Herein is the root cause of your issue. A topic that's been discussed in several blogs, forums, and even in the media since September regards a known issue with attempting to patch IE6 RTM via Windows Update.
Aside from that particular issue... browsing the Internet with an unpatched instance of IE6, especially from a Windows Server system, is also asking for a world of hurt.
    Might I suggest the following:
Download the IE8 for Windows Server 2003 installer to a thumb drive.
Download the latest Cumulative Security Update for IE8 for Windows Server 2003 to a thumb drive.
Reinstall Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 2.
Upgrade to IE8 from the thumb drive installer and apply the
    Cumulative Security Update.
Now your machine is capable of safely browsing to Windows Update to install the rest of the updates (well, maybe, there's also all those other Security Updates from the past seven years that your machine still has vulnerabilites for -- even those seven
years of updates are going to take a Very Long Time to scan for, download, and install).
Why don't you have a WSUS server? -- noting, wryly, that you've posted in the *WSUS* forum.

  • Compatibility between Exchange 2007 service packs

Hi all, I have 5 servers Exchange:
    - 3 Servers CAS and HUB
    - 2 Servers Mailbox server in Microsoft Failover Cluster (MSCS)
    Domain Controllers are all
    Windows Server 2003 SP2
The versions of Exchange 2007 SP1 servers are all:
    8.1 Build 240.6
I have thought about installing SP3 and RU13 in all 5 servers for Exchange, but I'm going to install SP3 and RU13 on 2 servers CAS / HUB and the following week at the other CAS / HUB server.
Finally, the following week in the two Mailbox Servers.
Is there any problem if I miss 2 servers CAS / HUB with SP3 RU13 and the other CAS / HUB in SP1, this will only be for a few days?
Is there any problem if I leave the servidors Mailbox Servers in SP1 while CAS / HUB are in SP3 RU13, this will only be for a few days?
    regards
Microsoft Certified IT Professional Server Administrator

    Hi Yupikaiey.
Only thing you should be concerned is if you have CAS-CAS proxy or the Mailbox Cluster part.
Your current plan looks good. Just stay alert for any uncommon issues popping up, which would normally mean due to the difference.
If you upgrade your servers in this order, you may avoid potential service interruptions.
    Details below:
Version Constrains are more of between roles of 2007-2010-2013 and not between same version SPs or RUs.
    Exchange 2013 Server Role Architecture
The Past: Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2010
Our goal was to make these server roles autonomous units. Unfortunately, that goal did not materialize in either Exchange 2007 or Exchange 2010. The server roles were tightly coupled along four key dimensions:
2.This also necessitated a tight versioning alignment – a down-level Hub Transport or Client Access shouldn’t communicate with a higher version Mailbox server; in some cases this was enforced (e.g., Exchange 2007 Hub Transport servers cannot deliver messages
to Exchange 2010 Mailbox servers), but in other cases they were not (e.g., an Exchange 2010 SP1 Client Access server can render data from an Exchange 2010 SP2 Mailbox server).
The versioning restriction also meant that you could not simply upgrade a single server role to take advantage of new functionality – you had to upgrade all of them.
    The Present: Exchange Server 2013
If I upgrade the Mailbox server with a service pack or cumulative update, then for a given mailbox hosted on that server, all data rendering and content conversions for that mailbox will be local, thus removing version constraints and functionality issues
    that arose in previous releases.
    Exchange 2007 Servicing
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-in/library/dd421853(v=exchg.80).aspx
    Deployment Order
Our test infrastructure guarantees that Exchange hotfixes work across multiple server roles. The order in which you apply the update rollup to the servers is not important except if you are deploying CAS-CAS proxying. Because the update rollups are not segmented
for different Exchange server roles or for specific file configurations, apply each update rollup package to all Exchange 2007 servers in your environment.
If you have multiple Active Directory sites, and if you deploy a Client Access server in the proxy sites that do not face the Internet, you must
apply the update rollup to the Internet-facing Client Access servers
and to the non-Internet-facing Client Access servers in the proxy site simultaneously. For other Exchange 2007 configurations, we recommend that you
apply the update rollup package to the Client Access servers before
you apply it to servers that are running other Exchange 2007 server roles, such as the Mailbox server role, the Hub Transport server role, and the Edge Transport server role.
    Note:
Applying service packs and update rollups to clustered Mailbox servers requires specific planning and application steps. For more information about how to apply service packs to Exchange 2007 clustered Mailbox servers, see
Upgrading Clustered Mailbox Servers to Exchange 2007 SP1 or later. For more information about how to apply update rollups to Exchange 2007 clustered Mailbox servers, see
Applying Exchange 2007 Update Rollups to Clustered Mailbox Servers.
For Patching and compatibility between versions:
Determine the service pack level of Exchange.
Update rollups are service pack dependent. For example, an Update Rollup 5 package is available for Exchange 2007 and for Exchange 2007 Service Pack 1. To determine the service pack level of Exchange, examine the
ExchangeVersion property. For more information about how to view the
ExchangeVersion property and about the build number that is associated with each Exchange version, see
Exchange Server 2007: Platforms, Editions, and Versions.

  • Bootcamp and Windows XP Service Pack compatibility?

    Hey everyone,
I'm having a problem installing Windows XP onto my brand-new Macbook. I've got a still-in-the-package Windows XP re-installation disc from my girlfriend's computer but on the disc it says "includes Service Pack 1a". It says that I need Windows Service Pack 2 or later here:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?path=Mac/10.6/en/11889.html
Upon finding the place to download Service Pack 2 on the Microsoft site, it says that you shouldn't download Service Pack 2 if it's for just one computer, here:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=049C9DBE-3B8E-4F30-8245 -9E368D3CDB5A&displaylang=en
I started to try to install the disc via Bootcamp but was reluctant to partition my hard drive since I'm not sure about the Service Pack's compatibility for my Macbook.
Do I need to get a new Windows XP installation disc (as in go and buy one) or should I try to download Service Pack 2 or later from somewhere? I'm afraid to try to install Windows XP if I don't have the right disc or Service Pack. Can anyone help me?
    Thanks for reading!

    Hi and welcome to Discussions,
for Windows XP installation on a Mac using BootCamp the XP istall CD has to have at least SP2 incorporated.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1899
Using an older version usually doesn't work and creates some problems.
However you can make yourself a XP SP2 installation CD using your SP1a CD and these instructions http://www.winsupersite.com/showcase/windowsxpsp2slipstream.asp
But you have to do this on a Windows PC.
And despite what Microsoft says on that "Network Installation Package" page I would always recommend using these stand-alone SP updater and not use Windows Update for such huge system updates.
    Hope it helps
    Stefan

  • Different service packs in admin server and managed server

    Hi,
Has anybody successfully used a WebLogic 6.1 SP1 managed server that
connects to a WebLogic 6.1 SP 2 admin server?
    BEA's docs claim:
"The Administration Server must be running the same version of
WebLogic Server as the Managed Servers in its domain. The
Administration Server must also have the same or later service pack
installed as the Managed Servers in its domain. For example, the
Administration Server could be running version 6.1, Service Pack 2
while the Managed Servers are running version 6.1, Service Pack 1."
This is precisely what we want to do, but it's not working. In this
case, we need to run the admin server and managed server on the same
machine, but we need the managed server to run SP 1 to work around a
bug in SP 2. So to our initial installation of WebLogic 6.1 SP 2,
where I run the admin server, I added a second installation, this time
    WebLogic 6.1 SP 1, with a different BEA_HOME. When I start the
managed server from this second installation, I can see from the logs
that it is starting up correctly as 6.1 SP 1. But then it fails with
a ClassCastException when connecting to the admin server (I have
included the stack trace below). This seems typical of version
compatibility problems I've had when I've tried connecting to a server
with a client of a different version.
But in this case, you are supposed to be able to have the managed
server with a lower service pack. Does this work for anybody? Has
anybody encountered the problem I'm having? Note that the servers are
not clustered, if that makes any difference, and we have a custom
security realm in addition to the default file realm (though "system"
of course is in the default file realm).
Thanks in advance for any help,

  • Related to "service pack is a full installation"

    Hi
In Metalink if patch have mentioned this line in ReadMe doc " service pack is a full installation" (for essbase client, Essbase server, EAS and Aps)
Can i go and install without installing and configuring earlier version?
I mean should i install new patch directly without earlier version of similar Hyperion component to save my time.
    Version 9.3.1

If it is a full installation and there is no mention of having to install the previous version then you should be alright just to install that version.

  • Need XP Service Pack 2 to download iTunes 9 ??

I have Windows XP - SP1. I tried exchanging a card to download songs in the iTunes Store, and it gave me an error, saying I needed to download iTunes 9.
Tried that, and it says I need Windows XP Service Pack 2 to get iTunes 9.
So basically, I can't buy songs anymore since I'm on a lower version of iTunes, and I can't download a higher version since I'm not on the right version of XP... Any solution to this? (I can't just go buy a new windows prog...)

You do indeed need Service Pack 2 for Windows XP, but there's nothing you need to purchase. Service Pack 2 is free from Microsoft, as is Service Pack 3 (the latest update for Windows XP). Not only is SP2 required for iTunes, it's strongly recommended as it patches some major security problems that were present in prior releases of Windows XP. So just go to Microsoft, or use Windows Update, and update your system. You should then be able to install iTunes.

  • Service Pack Installation

    Hi guys,
I know this answer, but I can't remember it.
Are SPs incremental, or comprehensive?  I have to take a GRC product from a lower service pack to the latest, and there are about 4 packs in between.  I forgot whether I need to do each one, or just the final one.
Sorry - I should know this.  Also, does anyone have a slide deck (from Frank Rambo, perhaps) on 5.2 service packs?
    Thanks,
    Santosh

    Santosh,
SP for JAVA: You can go to the latest one (cumulative)
SP for ABAP: You have to install them sequentially (incremental).

  • BOXI R2 SP4 on Windows 2000 SP4 and Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 2

    Hi
I have a customer that has BOXI R2 SP4 installed on Windows 2000 SP4.  He is aware that Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 is not supported for BOXI R2 SP4 but he is not able to find I.E SP2 for Windows 2000 SP4.  What can he do as he is experiencing some inconsistencies in Webintelligence?
    I have suggested already to:
downgrade BOXI R2 to SP3 and use the line 3 of code as this supports I.E. SP1
upgrade the O/S to XP and use BOXI R2 SP4 and I.E. SP2
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    Federica

I don't see any reason to downgrade BOXi R2 to SP3.
While Microsoft will continue to support Windows 2000 till 2010, BO advises recommends that customers be on the latest SP. In your customer's case, this will not be possible. Also tech support will require one to be on the latest SP before they will troubleshoot any issues. ADAPT resolution also requires on to be on the latest SP.
I think it prudent to upgrade the OS (on the clients) to XP.

    Hi Pal,
you need to use the Java Connector v 2.1.8 and there is no need to register the DLL.
