Hello Experts.
Which is the cronology or order of the service packs and hot fixes for  BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 3.1, or which are tha latest?
thanks

For BO XI 3.1, SP 5 is the latest, released in August 2011. You can directly install SP5 if you already have SP3 installed.

I am new to my company and would like to verify what service pack and hot fix(es) they have applied so that I can make sure they are current.  Is there any way to tell?
Running BOE XI R2 on Windows Server 2003...
    Thanks!

    Hi Mark,
I recently contacted SAP support about service packs for Edge 3.1. THe SP for Enterprise 3.1 has been out for months now, and it's really atrocious that Edge hasn't received the same.
Anyway, the courteous support rep initially told me that the Ege 3.1 SP had been release, but then retracted that and said it was expected in the next few months - likely before end of year.
    How's that for helpful!!

  • Help-urgent - how to update service pack and apply patches for ADS

    Dear all,
I've just download the sp 11 and the patch ,how should i update my ADS? I've try to search the forum but to no avail. Pls advise, thanks.
    Regards,
    Joan

    Hi Joan,
To deploy an SCA or SDA, proceed as follows:
          1. Make sure you have downloaded the SCA or SDA from SAP Service Marketplace.
          2. Start the SDM GUI. To do this, execute the following file:
                a) Windows: RemoteGui.bat in folder \usr\sap\<SID>\<instance>\SDM\program
                b) Unix: RemoteGui.sh in folder /usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/SDM/program
          3. The SDM GUI screen appears.
Note: With SAP Web Application Server 6.30 the SDM server is started whenever you start the SAP system. To check whether the SDM server is running, use the tools SAP Management Console (Windows) or jcmon (UNIX).
          4. Choose "SDM Gui -> Login" or the icon "Connect to SDM Server". The dialog box "Enter Login Information for SDM Server" appears.
          5. Enter the following information:
                a) Password
The initial password is "sdm" (without quotes).
                b) User description (optional)
                c) Hostname
                d) Port
With instance number 00, the default port number is 50018. If your instance number is different from 00, the port number changes to
                Port = 50018 + 100 x <instance number>.
You have to calculate the new port number and enter it manually.
          6. Choose "Login". The SDM GUI appears.
          7. Choose tab "Deployment".
          8. Choose "Add SCA/SDA to Deployment List (Local File Browser)". A file selection screen appears.
          9. Select the SCA or SDA file you would like to deploy and choose "Next" to read the information on the following screens.
          10. Choose "Next" until the "Start" button appears.
          11. Choose "Start". After the SCA or SDA has been completely deployed, a success message appears.
          12. Choose "Confirm" to return to the SDM GUI.
          13. When you have finished work, log out from the SDM server. Choose "Deployment -> Logout" or the icon "Disconnect from SDM server" for this.
If this answers your question, please mark the question accordingly and do award points if helpful.

  • Service Packs and Fix Packs for Business Objects XI Release 2

    Hi,
How can I know wich services pack or fix packs are installed on my server? I have installed Business Objects XI Release 2, and Xcelsius 2008 Release 2, and Live Office.
Do you know where can I download a spreedsheet that contains informatiion about the fix packs or service packs and the issues that solved??
    Thanks
    Lilia

Your first question was answered many time int his forums, please use search functionality before posting a question.
There is no publicly available Version matrix + fixed issues list.
However, you can do to Service Market Place > Downloads locate XIR2 section and see how many Service Packs and Fix Packs are available.
Latest Service Pack for XIR2 is 6
latest Fix Pack for XIR2 is FP6.4 (needs to be installed on top of SP6)
To the right of each SP/FP in the download section of SMP is a link called "Info" , it leads to Knowledge articles which contain list of fixed issues.
As all SP/FP's are cumulative, you can view Sp6 readme and Fp6.4readme to get overall picture of fixed issues.

  • 2008 Engage Server Service packs and Fix Packs

I have Engage Server.  I tried to load SP 3 and it didn't let me open old files.  SAP told me SP3 was not compatible with Server product.  I had to roll back to base version 5.0.0.99 build 12,0,0,121.  Does anybody know if I can at least load SP1 or SP2 (and/or Fix packs) so I can have some of the basic features?

  • What correct Service Pack and Fix Patch upgrade path?

I have installed Xcelsius 2008 Engage. I have version 5.0.0.99  build 12,0,0,121. I am assuming this is the base installation.
There have been a number of packs and patches released. I need to if I have comprehended.  Is sequence below correct:
    1. Crystal Xcelsius 2008 u2013 Service Pack 1
    2. Xcelsius 2008 SP1 Fix Pack 1
    3. Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 1 u2013 Fix Pack 2
    4. Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 1 u2013 Fix Pack 3
    5. Xcelsius 2008 Service Pack 2
    6. Xcelsius Enterprise 2008 SP2 Fix Pack 2.1
    Other consideration:
I have heard much discussion about Xcelsius.msi. Is this file in (1) above and does (2) above require it to be available.
    I am using Windows 7.0
Any other suggestion to avoid a painful process

    Hi,
I'll answer some of your questions:
You can just install the base version and then SP2 + FP 2.1. No need to install SP1 and the related fix packs.
.msi is just an installer file - once you've installed Xcelsius this will not be used anymore.
I'm not sure that Xcelsius is supported on Windows 7.
    Best regards,
    Jacob

  • CR2008 service pack and fix pack sequence

I have CR2008 SP0 as a component of Crystal Reports 2008 Visual Advantage. I gather that the CR component of Visual Advantage is the plain vanilla version of CR2008. There seems to be multiple SP's, and hot fixes, available for the different flavors of CR2008. Does anyone know what sequence should I follow for bringing the plain old vanilla flavored version of CR2008 up to date? Thanks....d

Yeah, I have a strange state at the client I'm at where some of the developers are using SP1 and some are using SP0, but no one has the SP1 files so we can update.   The sooner I can upgrade everyone the better...any word on when the updated SP1 will be ready?
[Edit] - Got your update above that was posted while I was writing my e-mail...If I had just waited a few more seconds...

On a Windows Operating Systems you can check the “Programs and Features” in control panel. You can see a list of both the Name and Version number of SAP BusinessObjects that is installed.

  • SAP List of Supported SQL Server Service Packs and Cumulative Updates

Does SAP provide a list of SQL Server Service Packs and Cumulative Updates that will work with BPC 7.0 and 7.5? I see that CU 12 is out for SP1 and CU 2 is out for SP2. I would like to know if I can move the SP2 CU2 or SP1 CU12. My install docs are outdated specifying SP1 CU6.
    Any direction is appreciated.
    Joe

    Hi,
Please take a look at the below list of the supported OS: This excerpt is from the installation guide.
SP04 or later: Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard or Enterprise Edition with or without Hyper-V
Windows Server 2008 Standard or Enterprise Edition with or without Hyper-V, or
Windows Server 2008 Data Center with or without Hyper-V
Windows Server 2003 Standard or Enterprise Edition SP2
Windows Server 2003 Standard configured on the SQL database or OLAP server components only
Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard or Enterprise Edition SP2
SAP recommends using Windows Server 2008 64 bit over Windows Server 2003 64 bit. Otherwise, supportability is limited.
I am not sure what did you mean by the front end. Having said that, 32 bit is supported both on the server and the client machines.
    Hope this helps.

    1. A service pack (in short SP) is a collection of updates, fixes and/or enhancements to a software program delivered in the form of a single installable package. Service packs are usually numbered, and thus shortly referred to as SP1, SP2, etc. It is notable that they may bring, besides bug fixes, entirely new features.

For the ABAP parts of usage type PI, this is the implementation of support packages. For the Java parts, the deployment with the Java Support Package Manager (JSPM) is used.
You can find currently available support packages on SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com/sp-stacks.
A description of how to apply support packages is available in SAP Note 879289.

Zen 3.2 snap shot to force out windows 2000 service packs and critical

has anyone used MSI to do the installations of services packs.

All Hotfixes and SPs have switches on the EXEs to allow for silent
    installs.
This is the recommended method of deploying these.
