Service Registry too slow for runtime use ?

Hi,
I have a question regarding the intended use of the OSR for calls from EJBs to Web Services at runtime: is it true that due to performance reasons, the OSR should not be used for such lookup at runtime ?? (thus lookups should only happen as part of the partner link import at development time) ?
Or the other way around - would the following 'dynamic lookup' perform badly:
1.) the client party (EJB) contacts the OSR with a logical service identifier (e.g. 'registry key')
2.) the OSR does a lookup and returns the corresponding physical endpoint address of a WS
3.) the client party then invokes the web service on the given endpoint
Any thoughts appreciated ! Anybody using the OSR, if so, how ?

Try if disabling the automatic check for new albums will help. That worked for me:
Aperture ->Preferences -> Web
deselect: "Automatically check for newly published albums"

  • ICal is too slow for practical use and crashes after it is opened

I am using an iMac G4 with OSX10.4.8. iCal is so slow that it has become impractical to use. Every click takes at least a minute to complete. Moving from the daily to the monthly view takes at least 3 minutes. I have discarded the plist file from the user library and it did not help. Any idea what is going on? Safari also suffers from the same slowness problem. I no longer use it. Have switched to Firefox.

I was having the same problem and it started after I upgraded to Tiger. After trying all the solutions, I discovered the problem with my iCal, which might not be the same for yours.
I was trying to sync with Entourage. I only had about 5 appointments on there, but once I deleted that calendar and unchecked the Sync to .Mac under preferences.
Now it runs SUPER fast. So it may be a problem with one of the calendars that you've created.
    Good luck.
    Thanks!

  • Too low for radio use at 50%

my blackberry 9360 with the newest update out when at 50% battery comes up saying too low for radio use then just suddenly goes from 50% to 0 in a matter of seconds as i watch it cant down faster than anything. i tried pulling battery out when fully charged with charger in but still not working how do i fix this?

Oh...sorry...I think I was not clear..."known good" and "new" are not necessarily the same thing. While rare, a new battery certainly can be defective. Plus, finding someone with an identical BB without these same problems, and trading batteries, is certainly a less expensive method for carrying out this test. Again, sorry about not being clear on that point...
    Anyway, refer:
KB14320How to maximize free space and battery power on the BlackBerry smartphone
It is really quite impossible to predict the "normal" consumption rate for any individual user -- each person is unique, and will demand a different level of resource consumption from everyone else. To me, the key is to determine what is normal for your usage patterns...and then become concerned when things deviate from that.
It is also always important to properly close applications when you are done with them. Using the Back or the Red key will not do this -- those leave it to the app to decide what to do...and some will leave themselves resident in memory, consuming resources on your BB, slowing the overall performance. Rather, to close an app, press and select "Close" or "Exit"...that will force the application to be closed, freeing up for your new use the resources it was consuming. Some apps will always remain running (typically -- BBMessenger, Browser, Homescreen, Phone, and Messages)...but, you should still close them properly - especially the Browser...if it is left on an active web page, it will not only consume extra resources but battery power as well.
Further, anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure. Some have taken to doing this on a regular basis as a preventive measure...some as frequently as once per day. Others have obtained the QuickPull app to automate a simulated Batt-Pull.
    Good luck!

  • Firefox CONSTANTLY has a yellow bar on top of my screen nagging me to upgrade adobe flash but my processor is way too slow for that upgrade.

I am on an older computer that works just fine, but the processor is too slow for the flash upgrade, nor do I have the other system requirements. What can I do to get rid of this nagging bar? I do not mind upgrading to a lower version of flash, providing it is light on memory;but don't know how to or where to get it. I have seen some archives of older versions but they require knowledge of how to do zip files, or how to do the download as it isn't automatic. I currently have something called "shockwave flash 9.0.45.0". The names are another confusing thing. They talk about shockwave flash, adobe flash player, adobe flash; are they all the same thing?
    michelle

cor-el, thanks for your input. The problem I keep having is that I can't get the system requirements for any of the flash versions except 11, the latest. I have looked on a number of sites as well as adobe. There is no point to download something that won't work with my system, and overloads my memory. My processor is a pentium 3, about 927 mhz. The service pack is 2.
Another problem I keep having is that for the older versions they keep telling me to "unzip" the file. I don't know what that means, or of course, how to do it.
Really need some help and understandable directions as am new to computers. This one works great, and I resent these companies putting me in the position of having to buy a new computer just so I can get their newest programs, which in reality are often not as good as the old ones. I cannot afford another computer.

  • Battery too low for Radio Use - Even on Full Charge

Off late I have been having an issue with my BB Curve 9320, even when battery is fully charged, at the time of checking SMS, BBM Messages or Whats App Messages, the phone show up with "Battery too low for Radio Use" And put off the wireless services off the phone. Once I exit the applications the phone turn back on an continues to work as normal, untill I  launch BBM or whats app again.
I had given the phone to the Blackberry service centre for this problem, they kept it for a week and gave it back to me today saying the problem has been fixed, however am still getting the same problem.
My phone is still underwarranty, please suggest what needs to be done.
    Thanks!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Given that you've already begun formal service for this issue, I recommend you continue with that. After all, they said it was fixed, but it's not...don't you want to challenge them on that fact?

  • How do I make icons bigger? All icons are way too small for speedy use. no matter what I do they remain too small. Is there a way of getting them the same size as previous versions?

All icons, such as refresh page, back, forward, stop and home etc; are just too small for comfortable use. For now I am uninstalling Firefox 4 and going back to 3.x. even the zoom page icons are too small.

"I had read that GarageBand or the Musical Typing there can sometimes not display properly when the resolution is changed."
Well, did you checked GB after you changed your resolution?
Which setting did you change to?
You & I have the same size iMac screen. My resolution setting is 1280x800. Everything fits perfectly in the windows & on desktop including the menu bar.
All info in my windows are showing. I did not need to adjust my browser font size settings. I am sure you are aware of the browser font size settings. I use FF & the settings are in Preferences>Content.
In the Finder window you can enlarge the icons & fonts also.

  • Low Battery - Battery too low for Radio use - And Curve will not Charge - HELP!!!

Need help and lost without BB.  My BB displays Low Battery.  If I try and make a call I get Battery too low for Radio use.  I have tried to charge the BB but nothing happens and still cannot make call or charge unit.  Tried charging overnight with car charger and A/C adapter.  Tried removing battery for one minute and reinstalling.
    Any ideas????

Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.
When you are connected to the charger, do you see the lightning bold charging symbol displayed over or next to the battery indicator on the screen of the device? If so, then let it charge a while. A battery at less than 10% charge can take an hour or more to get just 10% higher, and then the charging will move faster.
If you are not seeing the charging indicator, then you could have a bad USB port.
If you connect it to your PC via the USB cable, does the BlackBerry appear to connect?

  • Blackberry curve 9320 batt too low for radio use

I have had this fone since june and have constantly had probs with the battery life.its now sayin battery is too low for radio use even when there is half a white bar.keeps cutting out during calls.I've constantly got to do a battery pull!any ideas??

    Hello guys,
I found the solution! I have 2 9320 and both developed this problem after 5 or 6 months. Battery too low for radio use even if nearly fully charged. I tried everything what described here- battery pulls, soft reload, deleting apps, pulling battery out with charger connected- nothing worked- just dont waste more time. The solution is easy and its not software problem! Just open your phone- if you dont know how check on youtube so you don't damage your phone and simply clean battery connector in a place where it is touching the mainboard. My bb board was black in that place- came off easily and connectors on mainbord looked like new after. I used zippo lighter fluid and clean cloth. Since then no problem on both my blackberries- never switched radio off again with battery not beeing red. I think there was not enoug power flow through this connector causing me going crazy. Now my blackberries are amaizing again! Hope it helps!

  • "Battery too low for radio use" - Curve 9320

Since early on my curve 9320 has given me a "battery too low for radio use" warning at very random moments often times when the battery is still halfway into the white area. Sometimes this can be reset manually in the setting by turning radio back on, however this does cut into calls, messages and other activities.
I have changed the battery recently thinking this was the cause of the issue, however this did not help. I am still getting the error...not to mention the short battery life of this device...this is very frustrating.
Is this a common problem and if so how is it solved? Any help is appreciated!

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
Please try this sequence...note that, throughout the entire 4h15m process, your BB must remain directly connected to a known-good wall charger (not PC USB, not a cradle):
With the battery inside, connect your BB to the wall charger
Leave it alone for 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
    Remove the battery
    Wait 15 minutes
    Insert the battery
Wait another 2 hours, no matter what the LED or the display does
This has been known to "kick start" some BBs.
It is also possible that your battery or BB has experienced a problem...to test, this sequence is needed:
Obtain an known good and already fully charged additional battery...use it in your BB and see what happens
Obtain access to a known good and identical BB...use your battery in it and see what happens
The results of this will indicate if it's your BB or your battery that has the problem. Note carefully please that "new" and "know good" are not necessarily the same things. While rare, a "new" battery certainly could be defective. Rather, the simplest (and least costly, btw) method to conduct this test is to find someone with an identical BB who has no issues...trade batteries and see what happens.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Disk too slow error when using M-Audio Oxygen 49 keyboard

I bought the M-Audio Oxygen 49 keyboard. And when I plug it into my MacBook Pro to do some playing, the project will record for maybe a minute but then I get a 'disk too slow' error and the recording stops. This happens every single time, no matter if there's 30 tracks or 1 track on the recording. I know that it is the keyboard causing the error because I am currently working on a 59 track piece that has effects on almost every track and my setup doesn't even blink. (well it'll pinwheel for a second when I hit record sometimes, but the CPU and disk meters don't ever get near red-line levels).
What on earth is causing this stupid keyboard to cause this problem, and how do I fix it? It's clearly the keyboard. When I unplug it and record a live track on a project that just gave me the 'disk too slow' error, everything works just fine!
    Grr...
    Any help is appreciated, thanks!
Edit: I have the MBP plugged via firewire into an Echo Audiofire and then into a WD hard dtive (at 7200 RPM). The keyboard is USB into the MBP.

    hi
i spoke with Apple pro application support staff who confirmed that the Tascam 1884 patch for 10.4.10 is the cause of the problem. The apple boot drive can reliably record 1 channel of audio under normal circumstances. Apple staff described the situation as "unfortunate" and recommended to wait for Tascam to release 10.4.10 compatible drivers.
For anyone interested in the technical background, the Tascam 10.4.10 patch DOWNGRADES the audioFW component (messing with kernel headers etc.). This compromises the OS's ability to correctly communicate with FW devices.
I had tried recording to a firewire 800 drive, but all FW IO is affected by the 10.4.10 Tascam patch: Logic simply didn't record anything to disk when I tried this, and the machine became unresponseive. I do not recommend anyone attempt recording to a FW drive with the Tascam drivers installed.
I have recorded circa 400 hours of single channel 96K 24bit audio to my internal Macbook Pro boot drive using the same software/configuration under 10.4.9 without a single glitch. I do recognise that when requiring heavy disk IO it is not advisable to record to the boot drive. However, 1 channel of audio can be reliably recorded if the system is well maintained.
Thanks to all for your comments and suggestions.

  • What to do if my pc is too slow for Flash CS6? may i try (and find) older version?

    Hi all
I tried the trial version of flash CS6 but my computer is too slow (less than 2 GB of RAM available) and I 'm not able to use it. i need it to make animated cartoons and I do not need to code in order to do it .. What do you recommend me, please? If I use an older version (which one? flash 8? is there a trial version on the site? ) it can work out ? i mean can i consider it valid for my works or is it a point against me for the market?
i want to be sure before buying the product ...
(is this the right place to ask? )
    Thanks anyway
    Adelina

First of all, check if your machine meets the system requirements for Flash CS6. If yo do, then i will recommend to cleanup your machine. Delete the temp files(Run->%temp%) and empty the Recycle bin.
    This should also help.

  • Disc Too Slow LE 7I use

I use iMac Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB, Bus Speed 667 MHz, Processor Speed 2.16 GHz
Today I missed my deadline to 500 radio stations because all day long I saw "Disc Too Slow 10010"
I only used two tracks for a 20 min bulletin. I removed all compression and limiters. I bounced to an Ext HD but no way would this program load.
This question has been asked before but I have yet to find a satisfactory answer (maybe I'm dense).

    Hi Ron,
    Sorry about your trouble.
You mention bouncing to an external hard drive.
Were you playing the program (the audio in the song) from your Internal system drive?
What external hard drive is it? Are the drivers for it current? Did you replace the cables going to / from the drive to the computer? Did you try a different hard drive?
Sometimes this disk too slow error message happpens when the FireWire buss is overloaded, and not necessarily by the hard drive. Which audio interface are you using, and is it FireWire?
Please, don't tell me you have an M-Audio FW 410 or the like...
    Cheers

  • Branch target offset too large for short - using CFThread

I am just starting to get into using CFThread.  I have a process I am working on to allow clients to order background reports on multiple applicants simultaneously.  I am doing this using CFThread.  Through some trial and error I discovered that I needed to var scope the variables that are used in the CFC's that do the bulk of the report processing.  As soon as I did that I started getting the error "                                                                                                                                                      Branch target offset too large for short". Everything I have read on this error basically says I have too much code in the CFC which doesn't make sense as I am using this CFC in several other places in the site without error.  The problem only occured after var scoping my variables in the CFC and them sticking that CFC inside a CFTHread tag.
Has only one seen anything like this before?
    Thanks

    Haven't seen it, no.
Can you revert to your un-VARed code, and then re-VAR the variables one by one, retesting between each, and see if a specific one gives you the error?
I don't know what this might tell you, but it might help focus where to look.
NB: you should be VARing your variables within functions as a matter of course, not simply in situations in which the code is being called via <cfthread>.

  • Speakerphone option is too low for practical use. Can this be corrected?

I have the iPhone 2G and the speakerphone really ***** (for lack of a better term). I'd like to use it more often but even on its loudest setting its barely audible. Can this be fixed without hacking? Is the 3G significantly louder? Thanks for any insight as I love the phone but may have to switch if this can't be resolved.

You will have to send feedback to Apple as this is a User to User forum.
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html
I agree that the volume is to low for practical use, and the physical aspects don't help. The speaker is one of the tiny holes in the bottom, so you need to aim the end of the iphone at your face to make the most of it.
