Offline Servicing failing (InstallUpdate returned code 0x800f0830)
Hello All,
I've just inherited a SCCM 2012 Setup.
I was trying to use the Offline Servicing feature and noticed that all updates were failing.
After reading the forum, I read that this didn't work well in 2012 SP1 (the version the deployment had when I got here) and have upgraded in the mean time to 2012 R2 CU2.
Unfortunately, the behavior has not changed.
What I've tried so far:
- Updated the rights on the folder where the OSD image reside to Full Control for everyone ( to eliminate security issues)
- added exclusions in the SCEP client for the offline servicing folder and the dism processes.
- disabled the scep client all together to avoid it interfering
- Disabled UAC
The entries I'm seeing in the log are the following:

[SOLVED] systemd: Launch helper exited with unknown return code1
Why might I be seeing messages like the following when trying to set up systemd?
[root@blah ~]# hostnamectl set-hostname foobar
Failed to issue method call: Launch helper exited with unknown return code 1
EDIT: The solution for me was to remove sysvinit and initscripts and go for pure systemd.

Yeah, I already found that post but the solution is not there. I'm not trying to use echo to set hostname manually, I'm trying to see why my hostnamectl command (and other *ctl comands) doesn't work, and there's no solution on that thread, just a workaround.
I have systemd 195 and polkit 0.107 installed.
EDIT: I replaced sysvinit with systemd-sysvcompat; then enabled syslog-ng, NetworkManager, and cronie services using systemctl enable; then I uninstalled initscripts. I'm not sure where during that process the commands started working, but they work now. But, that doesn't help people trying to migrate without having to replace sysvinit or remove initscripts first.
This is a problem because the wiki explicitly says to migrate rc.d settings to the new files used by systemd. However, since the *ctl commands don't work at this point, it's impossible for the user to know how to make the config files manually without intimate knowledge of their formats without using *ctl commands.
For example, how is one supposed to complete step one on the following wiki section? https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sy … stallation
As you can see in those instructions, there is no information on how to create the new config files other than using *ctl commands, which don't even work at that stage. Some of the examples show a sample file, but the problematice ones are the ones that don't show a sample file.
For example, how do you make /etc/adjtime without timedatectl?
The wiki says that timedatectl [...] "will generate /etc/adjtime automatically; no further configuration is required", but then the Failed message in my original post is displayed.
I think I will change the wiki to offer a better walk through when I get the chance to migrate to systemd on my desktop which has many daemons and modules.
the same problem here.... -
Hi,
I'm getting return code 128 when implementing a add-on via SAINT version 7.10 ptch 0039
running >TP EXPLAINRC 0128 gives 'Unknown return code'
Anyone know what return code 128 could be?
KyeHi Kye,
As per past cases, return code 128 seems more related to the O.S itself. Make sure you're using using last version available of TP and R3trans, and if is possible bounce the system since it helped in past cases. Otherwise check the O.S logs (i.e Event Viewer on Windows)
Hope it helps !

Return codes from sqlldr command from unix shell script
I am trying to capture error code from sql loader from unix shell script and display proper messages.
sqlldr parfile=sdb.par control=$cntlfile data=$infile bad=$badFile log=$logFile rows=10000
rows=10000
retcode=`echo $?`
case "$retcode" in
0) echo "SQL*Loader execution successful" ;;
1) echo "SQL*Loader execution exited with EX_FAIL, see logfile" ;;
2) echo "SQL*Loader execution exited with EX_WARN, see logfile" ;;
3) echo "SQL*Loader execution encountered a fatal error" ;;
*) echo "unknown return code";;
esac
Eventhough, there are errors while executing sqlldr, it is always returing recode zero. What could be the possible reason
Please adviceIs there a typo in your code ?
sqlldr parfile=sdb.par control=$cntlfile data=$infile bad=$badFile log=$logFile rows=10000
rows=10000
retcode=`echo $?` In this code, you get the return code of the statement in bold which is not the sqlldr statement ... -

Thanks Rahul$Hi,
The client cannot verify the signature of ccmsetup.cab. I suggest you check the Trusted Root Certification Authorities in certificate store on the client to see whether a certificate is missing.
Try to enable verbose logging for SCCM client installation. Then check the log to see whether there are some useful information.(http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg699356.aspx)

RFC Communication - error CPIC return code 020, SAP return code 665
Hello,
I have created RFC destination for connecting SCM system from Solution Manager. Both the systems are Unicode.
I am getting the following error --

And in SM21, I am getting following description
Communication error, CPIC return code 020, SAP return code 665
Following are the things I have checked..
1. RFC destination user checked, password reset in SM59 and in the target system
2. checked entries in /etc/services - Entry sapgw03 is present.
Please let me know what all things I need to check.
Thanks and Regards,
VaibhavI solved the problem by myself.
The problem was with the entry in services file only.
I was checking the file on Target system, which had the entry. There was no entry in Host system services file. After modifying the file, the connection now works fine.
Thus for RFC connection, entry of the target system gateway MUST be there in /etc/service of Host system.
Regards,
Vaibhav -

WSRP Consumer - producer registration error : (100)continue return code
I am trying to get an ALI WSRP Consumer working with the ALI WSRP Producer. Whenever I try to register the producer wsdl, the consumer fails with the error :
Failed to get a service description from WSRP provider!
Error message from WSRP provider: (100)Continue
Any clues? I can successfully register this producer with a different portal's consumer. Is there a configuration property that needs to be set to allow the (100) response code? Or perhaps my Producer should avoid that response code in the first place? Has anybody run into this?
Below is the stack trace generated by my consumer on the back-end (from ALI Logging Spy) :

at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)This seemed promising, but the proposed solution (adding 'servicePointManager expect100Continue="false"' to Web.config) had no effect.
My consumer request actually does not include the "Expect: 100-continue" header and receives the 100 response anyways. My understanding now is that this is okay (thought I'm not sure why) and that the client should be expected to handle that response code in any case.
I am wondering if there is an issue with the combination of products in my environment that is not supported by this product?? I am using
IIS 5.1,
.Net 2.0
AquaLogic WSRP Producer 1.1/WebCenter WSRP Producer 10.3.0 (tried both)
I am testing this producer in two environments -
- AquaLogic Consumer running on AL Portal 6.5. When the WSRPConsumer is configured with the producer wsdl, it fails with message "Failed to get service description from WSRP Provider: .... faultString: (100) Continue".
- Liferay - AFTER successful registration, attempts to deploy my registered .Net portlet (simple hello-world) result in an internal exception thrown in the Producer [Bea.Portlet.Management.PortletManager.LoadPortlet(PortletManager.cs:line 114)] Error loading PortletContainer: Bad PortletState. No request is made to my .Net application.
It appears from both of these tests that both my producer and consumer are having fundamental problems that do not seem overly exotic (although I have successfully registered other WSRP portlets with the AL Consumer). However, I have not come across much information on these sorts of problems. -
Volume Serialization Return Code 25
Created the Adobe CC package and deployed it into our Mac Labs using the Netrestore imaging process. All working well for a couple of weeks, now the Adobe Application Manager is popping up asking for Adobe credentials.
We had the same issue in our Windows labs and the fix was to serialise with the adobe_prtk tool. I'm able to generate the prove.xml file just fine, but when I try to license I get Return Code = 25
As far as I can see in the oobelib.log file, it thinks the product isn't installed. I thought it could be a locale issue, but I tried regenerating the prove.xml with a few different combinations and didn't get anywhere.
Can someone help?

Creative Cloud Help | Create license file
Tip though, When I started CreativeCloudPackager from /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager/CCP this option was not available, I had to go a couple of folders deeper to /Applications/Utilities/Adobe Application Manager/CCP/toolkit/CCPLauncher and run that version of CreativeCloudPackager
