Services/apps I've deleted return on reboot

I've just rebooted my device after I had to reinstall BBM (that's another story), and I've found that several services/apps that were on the device when I bought it that I deleted have come back. The Desktop Software is taking no notice of them, so I'm thinking these services are on my SIM card, and are loaded on whenever I reboot my device.
However, if I reboot my device after a prompt from the App World app, they don't return, so there's obviously some conflict between reboots after prompts in the App World app, where these services don't return, and reboots after prompts from the device, where they do return.
My question is: short of going to my nearest O2 store and talking to them, is there any way I can permanently remove these services/apps, or permanently prevent them from returning?
The services/apps I mention are:
Gameloft, which sends me to a website via WAP (which turns out to be unsuccessful; Gameloft is where you buy games for your O2 mobile from, hence why I think these services/apps originate on the SIM)
AIM, Get Yahoo! Messenger, Google Talk, MySpace, and WLM, all of which are links to their respective download pages, only these links have their own individual icons.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Those icons are shortcut "teasers" pushed to you by your carrier. You cannot really get rid of those nor can you stop them from re-populating (if you check your contract in detail, I'll be there is some small print allowing your carrier to push them to you). Rather, what I do is to create a homescreen folder called "Spare Icons" (some call it "Junk") and move all such icons there. That way, they are out of my way.

Service Registry documentation URL and deleting published services?

Hello,
We are using SAP NetWeaver PI 7.1 SP 7. Do anyone know how you can control the published Documentation URL for published Service Interfaces in the Service Registry when you publish service interfaces directly from the ESR (from the WSDL tab on a Service Interface)?
Do anyone know if you can delete published service interfaces in the Service Registry if a service interface have been deactivated/deleted/is not used any more?

Hi Markus,
There is anothre approach to delete services using API's.
Determine the WSDL Url of your Services Registry.
- Open SAP NetWeaver Administrator and choose SOA Management Application and Scenario Communication Single Service Administration .
- Search for ServicesRegistrySi and copy the Services Registry WSDL.
Open WS Navigator.
- In the WSDL Url field, enter the Services Registry WSDL and choose Next.
- All Services Registry API operations are displayed.
- Select operation hideServiceDefinitions and choose Next.
- Enter either the UDDI key or the logical key of the service definition you want to delete and choose Execute.
Both keys are displayed on the General tab in the Services Registry.
In case SR shows you as having no logical key for the service you are interested in removing.
There is another operation, findServiceDefintions, that can be used to search a name that will return the UDDI key. Take that value and plug it into the hideServiceDefintions uddiKey value.

How to reset OpenLDAP service that was marked for deletion

Hi,
I installed the Shared Services, Essbase and Planning in my PC. After installing it, I went to services screen. I found that OpenLDAP service was in 'Started' and 'Disabled' status. When I try to change the status of the service from 'Disabled' to 'Automatic' or 'Manual', I am getting an error 'The specified service has been marked for deletion'. If I tried to stop the service, the service is vanishing from services list. I am consistently facing this issue even if I tried to reinstall all the modules. Can any one tell me how can I resolve this issue?

I take it that after it has been marked for deletion and you reboot then the service is removed?
I am not sure what version you are on but for 9.3.1 to create the OpenLdap service again,
open a cmd prompt to directory
*\Hyperion\SharedServices\9.3.1\openLDAP*
and type :-
slapd.exe install OpenLDAP-slapd "Hyperion S9 OpenLDAP"

Removing a service from windows server when deleted from registry

I have a service in services.msc with the description saying "Failed to read description. Error code:2".
The problem is the service isnt in the registry, using "sc delete" wont work. Ive tried adding the key into the registry with the string value set for the display name the same as the service in the service.msc then attempting to delete.

You might check the event log for further details. if the service key folder under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\services is gone then I suspect the error message is about a different service.

Only when i give SUBPACKNO 2889 again in Packno of table ESLL iam getting the total sub items of that services.
So how could i get that ....
But my problem is, the GRN is done for any on of the sub item of that service, and all are open, suppose the end user clicks on one sub item and he deletes that record, so at that time i need to check wheather that record is done for GRN or not, if GRN is not done then i can delete that record.
But my problem is how do i know the end user on which record he clicks. my func conslt suggested me this badi ME_PROCESS_PO_CUST. but in this badi i am not getting the exactly the end user clicked record.
So please help. its an urgent issue.

Motorola Services Contact re-appears after delete and multiple times

I have owned this Motorola Droid 3 for a week or so and I am having problems with Contacts. I have successful syncs with gmail, but I don't know why some contacts continue to reappear and continue to be added in spite of deleting them and in spite of already having a contact with the same name. When one edits a contact I want which is in gmail, scrolling the edit page reveals multiple instances of the same contact labeled "Motorola Services Contac". Then if I delete this contact, after a couple of hours, the deleted contact re-appears with multiple instances again. The multiple instances continue to grow and eventually the contact application boggs down. Can anyone help?

My gmail account contacts are the ones I want. The "Motorola Services contacts" list include the gmail ones, and ones that have been deleted. When I delete all the contacts in the phone by using an App (MyPhoneExplorer), the phone contact list ends up being the precise list that's in gmail, the list I want. A few hours later the "Motorola Services contact" list reappears. Apparently this happens every few hours, as you see repeated instances of all the "Motorola Services contacts" joined as I see by editing a contact. It is as the "Motorola Services contacts" are somewhere in the phone memory. My Backup Assistant list in verizon is empty. I guess I will visit the Verizon rep as I have cleared data areas in the sync services, and any other attempt I make does not cure this problem for me.... Al

Web services test using WS Navigator doesnot return field values

Hi experts,
We are running ECC 6 (NW 7 Ehp1) ABAP stack and NW CE 7.1 with Java stack (J2EE Engine 7.11). We are trying to test web services using WS Navigator. We can logon to WS Navigator and perform the test. The test shows a success return code, however, it doesn't bring back field values. We can see the values when we perform this test within ABAP stack. A sample of WS Navigator XML log for the service test is as below:

Data Service Wizard - How can I reconfigure return type field as XML (E4X) value

The HTTP Data Service wizard - "Reconfigure Return Type" - does not allow XML (E4X) to be selected as a data type for a field. For example , If my example XML payload looks like this (see below), I would like to set the datatype for "settings" field to be XML (E4X) and have the service decode the "string" value into an XML (E4X) value.

Prepared statement and DELETE returns 0 count

I guess it returns 0 (zero) because it doesn't delete anything. Can you verify that it did delete some records and still returned zero?
