Services – Content Aggregation in v25
Hi,
I recieved the powerpoint about the news in V25 with the Content Aggregation, but didn´t find any about it in What´s new in this release - http://help.adobe.com/en_US/digitalpubsuite/using/WS67cb9e293e2f1f60-21ba9a4512e5e5e0b8d-8 000.html
This is to iPad, iPhone and Desktop. Desktop options would be tha same WebViewer option?
I would like to know more details about this feature...Is there any resource? I read that IBA/Abril will be the beta test
Regards
__Felipe
Right now we only have one customer (Iba) that is testing out the feature. Once we've evaluated how that goes we'll figure out how to enable more customers and provide additional documentation.

Hi,
I am now studying and analyzing the Bea WebLogic Portal. I want to know is there any engine similar to personalization engine , which will manage the aggregation of contents from various portals.
I am elaborating it further now, In a portal page there will be plenty of portlets and each and every portlet will communicate with the App Server to generate the content into the portal page, my question is how the requests from all the portlets is managed. Is there any engine or services to manage the requests from the portlets.
Any clarification will be very helpfull.
Thanks
Ponraj RajagopalanPonraj,
There are many answers to this questions, so please excuse me if I am being
too vague. Typically your portlet will serve as the presentation layer for
some business objects (BO). In a typical 3 tier architecture:
Webflow (presentation controller)
|
Portlet (presentation layer) ---> Business Objects ---> Persistence Layer
There are many variations on this theme.
The presentation layer also relies on the Webflow architecture which acts as
a controller/coordinator and given a presentation event may dispatch it to
another presentation component (JSP) or perhaps a BO.
Your Porlets will render the output from the BOs (EJBs...) - either by
calling them directly or (better) by invoking them through dispatching an
event to Webflow, which in turn invokes the BO. The portlet can then pull
attributes out of the PipelineSession (placed their by the BOs) and render
the results.
There are therefore many ways in which control can pass from a UI event in a
Portlet, back into the BO layer, and possibly onto the persistence layer
(JDBC).
A good J2EE architecture book should be able to fill in the (many) holes in
this explanation.
Sincerely,
Daniel Selman

SM:SERVICE CONTENT UPDATE failed
Hello SOLMAN Experts
In our SOLMAN system 7.01 job SM:SERVICE CONTENT UPDATE is getting failed with below job log
Job started
Step 001 started (program RAGS_DSWP_SERV_CONTENT_UPDATE, variant , user ID #####
Problem occured when checking for new updates
Job cancelled after system exception ERROR_MESSAGE
When i checked via T-Code AGS_UPDATE , updates were available but not downloaded hence i downloaded and applied them manually.Again rescheduled this job but got the same dump.
I tried to schedule the progam to run in the background but again it gave the same log.When i am executing program in dialog mode it getting executed successfully (all available updates are downloaded).
So my question is Am i getting this error because all the available content updates i have applied and no more update is available so it is ending in error
Regards
Kuldeep SinghHello
Thanks for the looking into the issue.My mistake i updated Dump in place of "JOB" please read it JOB.
Secondly i have referred both notes already did not found suitable answer and last thing regarding the above mentioned job requirement , Since i just joined here so do not have much idea but asfar as i can understand this job is to update the content of the services enabled in your SOLMAN.I can see Earlywatch services enabled in our SOLMAN and we are not applying higher SP of ST-SER so this job should be required in our SOLMAN system.
Please correct if i am wrong ?

813 new library services / content manager: anyone using in production
Greetings,
I'm looking for feed back on the new library services / content manager in 813.
We're currently using InterWoven for CMS to WLP7. We're migrating WLP7 to WLP813 and are pondering whether the CMS built into WLP813 is solid, usable and production ready?
If so we'd drop use and support costs for Interwoven.
What would be lost that I can imediately see is easy promotion of content between dev, qa, prod. We'd have to use DB replication scripts. Could use helps here too.
BTW, I found a nifty DB/table migration tool: opendbcopy.org
Thanks for any thoughts, curtDo you have a particular reason for purchasing this specific device?
i.e I use a QNAP TS410 nas which does all that you want on mac flawlessly, so at the minimum add this to your potential list. -
Unable to open search service content sources from SharePoint
HI
unable to open search service content sources from SharePoint , I got this error in search server event viewer .
A database error occurred. Source: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0 Code: 1205 occurred 1 time(s) Description: Transaction (Process ID 66) was deadlocked
on lock resources with another process and has been chosen as the deadlock victim. Rerun the transaction.
Context: Application 'SP_SearchApp'
adilHi,
Based on the error message, I recommend to stop all the crawl process in SharePoint search service application by using PowerShell and then check the results:
http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2010/09/28/how-to-use-sharepoint-2010-windows-powershell-cmdlets-to-manage-search-crawls.aspx
The deadlock error will occurs when there are too many overlapping crawls, so I recommend to schedule the crawl to not overlap in SharePoint and add more crawl components if needed.
http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sharepoint_strategery/archive/2014/02/10/sharepoint-search-and-deadlocks-in-sql-server.aspx
If above cannot work, please also check the ULS log and SQL server for detailed error messages.
Best regards.
Thanks

Not all folder visible in portal services / content / URL
Hi,
One of our programers came to me with a strange issue
when he goes to portal services, content, selects a page and checks the url he sees the URL
But when he clicks on the navigation button beside the URL not all windows folders are showing.
I checked some other accounts and they seen to have the same issue, this was working before!!!
Any idea what may have happened?
AndyAndy,
Maybe you've encountered an issue with this particular editor, although logically the navigation editor jsp page should build the tree in a similar way.
Can you share an example of the first fully qualified path that is missing the folder or identify a pattern?
If you navigate to the wwwroot in a command prompt and do:
dir/s *. ->DirList.txt
Then e-mail me the resulting text file I'll take a look to see if any bizzare folder issues jump out at me.

I am a customer of an Apple Approved content aggregator for iBooks, one which is notoriously bad at its job, and makes Apple look very bad for approving it. Is there a way I can directly report this failure to meet Apple's guidelines to Apple with a detailed description? Either an email address or a phone number would be good; presumably Apple does have a dedicated department somewhere that deals with iBooks content aggregators, to whom I can send a detailed explanation of this issue, (for their information and future reference).
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me here.First I tried to upload a simple article that had some type and a web content box linked to a tiny html file. It went into 'uploading article' and hung up, after 10 minutes I forced quit Indesign. Then I loaded a file that just had some type on it and it worked. So maybe there is something wrong with my html file. I'm going to rebuild the file and see if I can get it to work adding one element at a time.
Thank you,

Hi all,
We are trying to interact with Documentum server through DFS exposed WCF which communicates through port 9443 and we are provided with documentum issued Public Key certificates. We have successfully imported the certificates in client machine and configured
the bindings as below in our .Net web application config file.
<system.serviceModel>
<bindings>
<wsHttpBinding>
<binding
name="ObjectServicePortBinding1">
<security
mode="Transport">
<transport
clientCredentialType="None"
proxyCredentialType="None"
realm=""
/>
<message
clientCredentialType="Certificate"
algorithmSuite="Default"
/>
</security>
</binding>
<binding
name="QueryServicePortBinding">
<security
mode="Transport">
<transport
clientCredentialType="None"
proxyCredentialType="None"
realm=""
/>
<message
clientCredentialType="Certificate"
algorithmSuite="Default"
/>
</security>
</binding>
</wsHttpBinding>
</bindings>
Also, we set the message encoding as MTOM and the wcf client object initialization code snippet is as below,
ObjectServicePortClient
serviceClient = new
ObjectServicePortClient(new
WSHttpBinding("ObjectServicePortBinding1"),
new
EndpointAddress(UriUtil.ObjectServiceUri));
if (serviceClient.Endpoint.Binding
is
WSHttpBinding)
WSHttpBinding
wsBinding = serviceClient.Endpoint.Binding as
WSHttpBinding;
wsBinding.MessageEncoding =
"MTOM".Equals(transferMode) ?
WSMessageEncoding.Mtom :
WSMessageEncoding.Text;
serviceClient.Endpoint.Behaviors.Add(new
ServiceContextBehavior(Config.RepositoryName,
Config.DocumentumUserName,
Config.DocumentumPassword));
When we execute the above code, we are getting error message as below,
Exception: The content type text/xml;charset=utf-8 of the response message does not match the content type of the binding (multipart/related; type="application/xop+xml"). If using a custom encoder, be sure that the IsContentTypeSupported
method is implemented properly. The first 407 bytes of the response were: '<?xml version="1.0" ?><S:Envelope xmlns:S="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/"><S:Body><S:Fault xmlns:ns4="http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope"><faultcode>S:VersionMismatch</faultcode><faultstring>Couldn't
create SOAP message. Expecting Envelope in namespace http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/, but got http://www.w3.org/2003/05/soap-envelope </faultstring></S:Fault></S:Body></S:Envelope>'
Then, we changed the bindings as below
<system.serviceModel>
<bindings>
<wsHttpBinding>
<binding
name="ObjectServicePortBinding1">
<security
mode="Transport">
<transport
clientCredentialType="Certificate"
proxyCredentialType="None"
realm=""
/>
<message
clientCredentialType="Certificate"
algorithmSuite="Default"
/>
</security>
</binding>
<binding
name="QueryServicePortBinding">
<security
mode="Transport">
<transport
clientCredentialType="
Certificate"
proxyCredentialType="None"
realm=""
/>
<message
clientCredentialType="Certificate"
algorithmSuite="Default"
/>
</security>
</binding>
</wsHttpBinding>
</bindings>
We are getting another error message,
Exception: The client certificate is not provided. Specify a client certificate in ClientCredentials.
Any pointers on resolving this issue would be highly helpful.
ThanksHi Dhanasegaran,
As per your case, the corresponding details which may guide you to resolve this issue:
1. First of all, you can try to call the wcf service directly from the browser & check where it will point out the correct location.
2. In config file ,Set IncludeExceptionDetailInFaults to true to enable exception information to flow to clients for debugging purposes .
Set this to true only during development to troubleshoot a service like below :
<serviceBehaviors>
<behavior name="metadataAndDebugEnabled">
<serviceDebug
includeExceptionDetailInFaults="true"
/>
<serviceMetadata
httpGetEnabled="true"
httpGetUrl=""
/>
</behavior>
</serviceBehaviors>
3. I suggest you to change that <security mode ="TransportWithMessageCredential"> instead of <security mode ="Transport">

Reporting Services - Content Manager shows all reports for all domain users even without permissions
I have installed
reporting services 2008 in: Site
Settings option / Security only 3 users
have added:
BUILTIN \ Administrators

System Manager, System User
MYDOMAIN \ user2

I have the same settings in the "start
up" folder and inside the folder
where are my reports, however if I authenticate
any user with different domain
to user1 and user2 can see all content
of the report manager can even
manage it.
Help me, greetings
Jennyhowever if I
authenticate any user with
different domain to user1 and user2 can see

even manage it.
Hello,
Did you means that other domain user account (Other-Domain\user3) can access reports on the Report Manager without grant any permission? As per my understanding, it is not possible. SQL Server Reporting Services uses Windows Authentication
defaultly to determine who can perform operations and access items on a report server.
Based on your description, you grant the local Administrators group and two domain users with system-level role: System Administrator. System-level role assignments grant access to global tasks and permissions that apply to a report
server site, That's may cause the user can access and manage all contents on the Report Manager.
If you want to set permissions for accessing conntents on Report Manager, you can just specify itme-level role assignments.For example, if you grant user with Browser role on a report, the user can view report and report properties, but cannot edit
report properties.

To work with MSS application in portal
1. Deploy the MSS BP
2. Do the system connection with correct system alias and also Jco connections.
3. Ensure that you have the user in portal and MSS backend with minimum auth. (and also portal content "read" permission)
and also in MSS backend you have to personalize your user id.

Content Services / Content DB
Anyone know the relationship between Oracle CM SDK, Oracle Content Serivices and Oracle Content DB.
We are happily running away on the CM SDK, but what does the future hold?Content Services will remain as part of Collaboration Suite, however at this stage there is unlikely to be further development into the Content Services product (at least from the original content dev team). The collaboration suite people are hard at work for the 11g release.
Content DB was originally a fork in the codelines, and a rebundling under Database Enterprise Edition. It is actively worked upon (by the original content dev team) and is the content component of the new Oracle WebCenter.
http://www.oracle.com/corporate/press/2006_oct/openworldsf06-23.html
Assuming the Stellent acquisition proceeds, Content DB will also serve as a content infrastructure repository for various Stellent ecm solutions.
http://www.stellent.com/stellent3/groups/mkt/documents/nativepage/oraclefaq.pdf
So for any customer wanting to get the new/increased Content Management functionality - particuarly for content-centric custom applications, they will need to move to Content DB.

Hi,
Please, I would like to confirm if the new option in Web Content - Allow Acesst to Entitlement Information - is just Enterprise accounts? DPS Pro account is out.
Would be this featute?
Dynamic subscriptions (Enterprise only) Publishers can add or remove subscription options on an ongoing basis without having to update the app. This allows publishers to evaluate subscription durations to determine the best set of options. For details about editing the custom library API to enable dynamic subscriptions, contact your Adobe representative.
Thanks
__FelipeIt is just for enterprise customers.

Accessing Web services content in NWDS
I am using NWDS 2.0.9 I can not use any web services because of the company http proxy. I have configured the NWDS for the proxy and the port files with the .lp extension (package explorer). In the port file there is a field for Proxy user and Proxy Password. Proxy password is never enabled therefore i can never enter a value. Does anyone know how to fix this so i can run the google and email Web service examples.
Thanks,
Wael AoudiWeblogic does not have any such tool to call the web service hosted on remote machine.
However in order to drill down the issue, you can create a standalone class and try to access the remote web service from the same machine where the WLS is installed and the application is deployed.
If the standalone class can access the web service then this is the issue with the WLS configuration for sure.
Thanks,

Solution Manager does not get service definitions from SAP in self diagnosi
Hi,
In our production solution manager transaction solution_manager, self diagnosis we are getting a warning message on our development solution manager.
Solution Manager XXX does not get service definitions from SAP.
The production Solution Manager is the master in SDCCN for the test Solution Manager. In the test Solution Manager, the scheduled task REFRESH SERVICE DEFINITIONS has task System ID of O01. It is pointed to RFC destination SDCC_OSS, not the production Solution Manager system.
It gives the same warning if I point the task to the production Solution Manager system.
Has anyone seen this before? Any ideas?
Best regards,
RussHi,
i guess have you activated SDCCN from your solution manager system too?
if not please activate. since that setup helps solman retrive the service definitions used in SDCCN from SAP (SAPOSS).so this ultimately allows you to set solution manager system as Master, so all the satellite system get the service definition from solman and do not need a direct SAPOSS connection.
and Please check this Note 1143775 - SAP service content update
the wiki for trouble shoot ["EarlyWatch Alert is Red Flagged - how to resolve" |http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=228262728]
please check.
Thanks,
Jansi
