HomeFusion- No support Service disappeared
I am hoping this may gain some attention, or anyone else can share if this has happened to them
On July 5th, after 2 SOLID months of very good speeds and HomeFusion service with 3+ bars on the router, the service disappeared.
YES: The 4G Signal is GONE, only Verizon 3G. I am in the "4G Extended Area" (HomeFusion does not roll back to 3G)
Also notable, I have a Verizon 4G LTE Ipad and it too used to work on 4G and now only 3G
Now, I have been calling Verizon daily since July 5th, and get no answer, is this service GONE? Is it Broken, When will they fix it , will they fix it.
It has gone from "We will have our network people looking at the tower to, well, it's 4G extended service area and it could just go away, sorry"
Am I crazy, or is this a very poor way to service customers and run a business? If I had a service that they installed and approved on their network, shouldn't they maintain the service, or give notice that the service is going away? They are still billing me in advance for next month, 7 days of which I have been ale to use 0 GB of bandwidth.
I call tech support, ask to esculate, they tell me it is esculated, there is no one else to talk to. There is no answer or hope of knowing if the service is coming back or if/when they will do anything and decide to do anything except take my money. Oh, I expect a hassle when I tell them I am not paying for something I don't have.
So question: What should I do next, any suggestions on escalation? Seems Verizon could care less about it's 4G LTE network and customers that they put up on a service, they just don't seem to care.
Thanks!

Well that works if you want to give Verizon the benefit, but they are the giant corporation and they are the ones who have the monopoly on the services in my area, so based on the fact they must thing I have to use them or nothing, I guess providing basic customer care is not an option.
You are saying it is on me to make a coverage map of my area and determine for myself that the service us gone?
No.
It would be accecptable for Verizon to get back to me in a timely manner and tell me something like:
1. The service has been lost due to changes in the towers
2. We made a change to our towers and we are working on it
3. There is no more service so we will refund your money and we are sorry we installed it in the first plae.
Not, we don't know, we will not get back to you and we will not tell you anything about why if failed or when it will be fixed, yet still take my money.
I think they have some basic level of responsibility,if the agree to install the service at my location to mainatin it or tell me why it is not working.
If it was not going to work for me, they should have told me that when they installed it,not yes you have 4G coverage and we will install this. They didn't say, oh,it might disappear for no reason and we will not tell you why, so be prepared for that, and take your iPad and go search for where th new 4G signal is.
Shame on them.
You apparently have knowledge that you're in a 4G "extended" area and not a normal 4G area. The website makes it very clear what "extended" means. It doesn't matter what some installer told you. Yes the installer SHOULD be more knowledgeable, however if you knew already you were in an "extended" area well then you already knew your reception would be iffy, yet you chose to still get service. And it's not the installers job to convince you to NOT get service. Since you are in an "extended" area it shouldn't be too long before you get regular 4G. -

All System Groups/Services disappeared in ESB Control after redeploy
Hi all,
SHORT: all entries in the "Services" pane of the ESB control have suddenly disappeared.
DETAILED: After a few successful cycles of changing/deploying/running and viewing instances of my ESB service via the ESB control, I redeployed and run the application. The previously successful test I ran did not get a reply from the service. Obviously, this could be either due to me breaking the service with the last change or because of some crash in the SOA Suite. So I tried to get more information via the ESB console but all System Groups and Services have disappeared - the left "Services" pane is empty.
Restarting the SOA Suite does not fix this.
==> any suggestions on what could have happened and how to resolve this without reinstall ? (we don't want this to happen in production, do we ;-) ?)two collegues of mine ran into a similiar problem. Their ESB console seemed empty as well.Until one of them let the console open for about 10 minutes and the services/system re-appeared.
Indicating that when the services do not show up could also be caused by a serious performance glitch or the services are calling external systems which time out.
Another option is to wait for a few minutes and see if your services etc show up again.
I don't know where this performance degradation is coming from though. The only thing I noticed is that the ORAESB schema ( advanced install ) is installing al of its objects in the USERS tablespace and that most ( almost all ) tables do not have any indexes / pk / fk's on them.
Maybe one or two indexes could speed up the ESB repository considerably.
Dave, In the upcoming 10.1.3.3 release is the repository in any way altered? Default tablespace? PK/FK and/or extra indices on certain tables/columns? -
Deployed web services disappear
Folks,
I have installed CE 7.1 SP3 trail version,
When I deploy the web service, I can go to web service navigator and I see my web service there. However, they disappear from web services navigator if I restart my server.
How do I make them persistent?
Regards
HaseebThe reason you don't see your services in the drop-down is because, CE does lazy initialization of EJB components (gives you a faster startup time of the server itself). But your services are still available to you. You do not need to redeply each time you start the server. One thing you could do is create a logical destinal (in NWA) for each service and use the "search by logical destination" button. You should always see your logical names in that drop-down that you can use to invoke your services. Hope it helps.

Z3 / Z3 Compact Chat service disappeared in Messaging App
Hi there. Since the latest lolly update, the "chat service" has disappeared as an option from the stock messaging app. The one where your texts were coloured yellow if they were being sent over the internet rather than an SMS. This is very frustrating, as I was just extolling the virtues of this feature to my wife who has the Z3C, I have the Z3. She raves about What'sApp you see. Now "Chat" is gone! It's not even in the settings menu as "enable chat service" anymore... Have deleted data from app etc to no avail. Any ideas folks? Many thanks. It has gone from both our 'phones BTW.
OK, the version of the Messaging app we both have is 28.1.A.1.4. Wife's Z3C still shows SMS after each text, and settings screen shown the Chat Service options. Mine doesn't! Here, have a look...

Services disappearing? Need help solving this.
Over the years I have created many Services (using automator and applescript), so that when you right click a folder or file you have the option to click on the service.
However In the recent weeks it has come up where sometimes the Service field disappears. How I get them back is logging out and then logging back in.
Does this mean I have some virus or something? Is there a way to handle this?
Here is what is supposed to come up:
Here is what happens sometimes:
Thanks guysHow often do you need to do this? I think that a script which would work properly may be more work than is worth the time.
I'm sure something like this could be done, but the real problem would be what would the next group of lines that you run the script on look like? Would a script that works for this circumstance work properly for another shape?
Here's some parameters to think about:
How do you determine which line segments (or endpoints) in the document need to be connected? All points in the document, or will you be working with a selection?
Once you determine the points (eliminating all that are already connected), how do you want them connected, and which point do you start with? Connect to the closest available point would seem what you want, but depending on how you determine which point to start with could give you different results.
You might want to loop through all eligible points, and save the distance to every other point into an array. Then, loop through connecting the 2 closest available points until you've connected every point. -
I had two services which clipped text to Macgourmet Deluxe, Copy Selection to Recipes and Copy Recipe from URL. Both have disappeared after upgrading. Checked for updates and none pending. Email to Mariner Support still pending.
Anyone else use these?Did you go into Keyboard System prefs, Keyboard Shortcuts, Services, and select the checkbox for those items?
It's possible that they did get removed, but most services are not enabled by default in Snow Leopard.
You can also add keyboard shortcuts for those services in the same place. -
ESB Systems and Services disappeared
I posted this yesterday in BPEL forum but suspect this is a more appropriate place. Please help!
Suddenly this afternoon, after adding a new ESB process, I am unable to display the DefaultSystem or BPELSystem processes in the ESB Control.
The instances page seems to work, and I've seen a few instances kick off since the problem started.
I can create a new System0 page but it disappears when I press "OK". I cannot create a new DefaultSystem or BPELSystem, but get the error that they already exist.
The BPEL Console seems to work as usual.
This exception appears in the oc4j log whenever I try to display the processes:

I finally fixed the problem by running IRCA and then hand-copying the ESB_METADATA rows from another SOA Installation, and redeploying all the processes.
I ran into another, similar problem today where one process could not find the metadata from the ESB Control. The problem seems to have vanished after I removed, recreated, and rebuilt the ESB process. However, I could see the process, just not bring up the diagram of it in ESB control (instead, an exception complaining about metadata appeared in that frame of the browser).

Bonjour services disappear - can't see speakers in iTunes
Hi,
I guess this might not be the correct forum but I can't seem to find anywhere else it may sit. I am having issues with certain bonjour services not running on my iMac, this is mainly affecting speakers being shown in iTunes. I don't have a problem with my mac book on the same network, I wonder if anyone can advise what I can do.
ThanksI run a studio where there are 3 Macs, each one running a different version of Mac OS X (Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard) and only my Mac (Snow Leopard) can see printers, iTunes servers or speakers connected over Bonjour (both the printer and speakers are connected with an Airport Express)...

HT201320 Email service disappears
A week ago I began getting warnings my iPad cannot access my email service provider or "'email address' not available" I have made no changes to cause this. I have checked settings, deleted account and set up a new account and nothing works. I have checked with service provider and no changes. My other devises can access my email just fine.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I was working on adding a custom authentication module. So at the o=myorg,o=isp level I was making changes to the core authentication module. I selected my custom auth module from the list boxes for the authentication menu and for the non-interactive auth list. That didn't have the desired effect, so I switched them back to LDAP and Cert (the old values we had been using).
Then something happened that I could no longer get into the admin console or the portal desktop.
Here's the error that shows up in /var/opt/SUNWam/debug/amLog

It happened to me once when I was working on CustomAuthenticationModule. I assume you would have deleted the cust auth module from the amconsole (that's what i did and got this message during login).
In any case there were entries in Directory Server which was preventing to amconsole to come up. I went ahead and deleted those entries in DIT manually and i got amconsole up and running.
You will find your cust.auth module entries under services of parent 'dc' or 'o' and under services of portal org. You can even do a search for the service in DIT.Once you are done with debugging the customauth module you can attach it again !!

/etc/services clobbered in upgrade
I've encountered this a few times and am finally sick of restoring /etc/services from backup so am posting the question:
- what package could be clobbering my /etc/services file? Every so often after an upgrade all of the local services I have added to /etc/services disappear. These are ones which I use xinetd to handle. There are no other differences other than my local services.
Any help in identifying the package, or how to prevent this would be very much appreciated, my latest upgrade was pretty big, and included the following packages:
