Services for Object in delivery (VL01N, VL02N and VL03N)

Hi,
is there a way to get the Services for Object button also in delivery?
For sales order I know, the parameter "SD_SWU_ACTIVE" needs to be added, but for delivery?
Thank you for help,
Florian

  • Difference in storage method for DMS and Services for Object

    Hi-
    Our R/3 version is: 4.7 Enterprise.
    In most (if not all) of the transactions users execute, there is a feature where they can attach a file using "Services for Object" from their PC to the associated record (i.e. material master, purchase orders, service notifications, etc.)
    What I would like to know is where the document is stored.  From what I found on help.sap.com it says that it is a link from the user's PC.  But I would guess it is storing a copy of the file as a blob on the R/3 server somewhere.  Is this true?  Or is there a risk if the user's harddrive dies, that the file is no longer available for viewing?
    I am trying to determine the difference between using the Services for Object feature vs. DMS and setting up an object link for the specific object type (i.e. material).
    Thanks!
    -Jenn

    I found the following about Services for Objects:
    Business Workplace
    The documents that were appended to an object using Create attachment and Create note are stored in the Business Workplace. There, for example, you can make settings for where the documents should be stored (R/3 System or Web Server) and which document classes may be loaded in the SAP System (for example DOC, but not EXE).
    Sending is also carried out internally using the Business Workplace. Messages are created that contain a link to the object as an attachment. By double-clicking on the attachment, the users can call the default method of the object. This is normally the display method.

  • Idoc info in 'Services for Objects' when a sales order is created

    Hi Guys
    Could one of you remind me how to turn on the Idoc info in the 'Services for Objects' > workflow option.
    I know how to turn on the services for objects using the user profile and entering parameter id:SD_SWU_ACTIVE , parameter value: X.
    I am not able to see the Idoc number/info that was used to create the sales order. I can see all the information in WE05 but the sales order does not show me any history of having used the Idoc.
    When i go to sales order and select the services for objects option followed by workflow the system should show the IDOC number/info used to create this order.
    Your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks
    Manish

    Hi,
    1. Configure the IDoc with message type ORDERS and basic IDoc type as ORDERS05 (You have to follow common step-by-step approach)
    2. Configure Message Control to automatically generate IDoc whenever a Sales Order is created. (I mean output type)
    So whenever a Sales Order is created, output type will generate an IDoc.
    Hope this information is useful.

  • Attachment not shown in MIRO (service for objects)

    We have a problem with services for object in MIRO transaction.
    There's no "service for objects" icon in MIRO transaction, and through menu ("System=>Services for objets") we get this message:
    "No service available".
    But there's an entry with that object ID (invoice number) in table TOA01 with object type BUS2081 (Incoming invoice), which means there's A link for that object ID.
    We checked customizing and compared it to other systems where it's fine and seems ok.
    Can't understand why it doesn't work. Something missing in MM?
    I'd really appreciate any clue.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    J

    Thanks for answering.
    Well, we have same archivelink customizing in another systemo for MIRO transaction and it works fine.
    There's a development, of course. There's a job that executes a program and attaches the pdf from a server, etc.
    So we can attach pdf files when entering an invoice. Guess there's a missing step, but don't know exactly which.
    Maybe basis people blocked something, but we don't have a clue.

  • GOS and Services for objects are same?

    Hi
    Pls clarify my points
    Services for objects and GOS(Generic object service) are both same or different?
    To my understanding it looks like different as follows
    -Service for objects is single icon to click for attachment, can be used only from front end execution.
    -GOS is a toolbar kind of icon, have collection of menu inside, can be used for background execution also.
    Both functions are different? Pls confirm.

    Understood the problem
    both are same

    Hello Seniors,
    I want to use the "services for object" ( icon that comes on the top left corner ) for transactions VA01 and VA41. I have enabled it for VA02, VA03, VA42 and VA43 by going to the path system-> User profile -> Own data-> parameters tab by passing 'X'  for the parameter ID "SD_SWU_ACTIVE" . What do I do to get it enabled for the transactions VA01(Create Sales Order) and VA41(create contract) also.

    Dear all,
    We create a sales activity with transaction VC01n. We create a Smartform formluar and send the sales activity via E-Mail to the customer, this is working. Additionally we have some attachments in "Services for object".
    How is it possible to send the formular and the attachments in one mail to the customer?
    Thank you

    Hi,
    Unfortunaltly there is no standard solution to send forms and attachement in a mail.
    you have to develop it .

  • Upgrade 4.6C -- ERP2005 and "Services for object" in all modules

    Hello,
    We have used Services for object in several modules; mainly MM, QM, and SD. The types used are URL, notes, private notes, and attachments.
    For example a vendor master (tra XK02) can have attachments, private notes, and URL.
    From where can I find information what will happen and how to handle all this data when the upgrade from 4.6C to ERP2005 (Unicode compatible) will take place? We need to know how to store the data.
    I haven't located any tables or structures.
    Help is highly appreciated and points rewarded.

    Hello,
    Thanks for your reply. So, according to your knowledge the paths are adjusted during the upgrade?

  • Difference between usage of "System -- Services for object" and GOS direct

    Hey folks,
    i was wondering if you know an answer for that problem:
    1) Start ME23N (no SAP Gui classic design!) and go to System - Services for Objects in order to start the GOS Toolbox. Try to to store a business document. In my case i don't have the authorisation S_WFAR_OBJ so i get the  Message no. 00398 "You do not have authorization for this function" Thats the behavior a want
    2) Start ME23N and activate GOS Toolbox by clicking directly on the button on the top left corner. Try to a store a business document. But there is no message coming up?! Same user, same PO! It seems that the Toolbox is just beeing restartet and thats it.
    Same behavior in IW53/IW33 too, no auth error message if GOS is started via "System --> Services for Objects".
    Thats our system:
    ERP ECC 6.04 with NW 7.01
    SAP Gui 7.20 PL 3 (signature design)
    Thanks for your help and best regards

    Hi Oliver,
    I have done a similar testing for Tcode FB03 since I have done Archivelink configuration for this FI object.
    Case 1:
    =======
    Start FB03 (no SAP Gui classic design!) and go to System - Services for Objects in order to start the GOS Toolbox. Try to to store a business document. In my case i don't have the authorisation S_WFAR_OBJ so i get the Message no. 00398 "You do not have authorization for this function"
    Case 2:
    ========
    Start FB03 and activate GOS Toolbox by clicking directly on the button on the top left corner. Try to a store a business document. Still got the same error message "You do not have authorization for this function".
    Later I added the required object in the authorization profile and it worked in both the cases mentioned above.
    Since the same program is being executed behind both the cases, it will check the same authorization object as designed.
    What I would suggest is that you perform this test again and ensure that no one modifies the authorization during your testing period.

  • Service for Objects toolbox and PA30

    Dear Gurus!
    In PA30 main screen there is a button "Service for object". When I press "Display" and "Change" , and enter to PA30 subscreens, this button does not apper.
    Why?
    Regards
    Vladimir

    Hi ..
    You are right it does not appear in the other screens. This icon is only configured at the SAPMP50A screen ( PA30 Main screen).
    The reason is that the services are Generic not for specific infotypes in PA30.
    Hope this helps. If so reward.
    Thanks

  • Accessing attachments from 'services for object'

    I have been tasked with extracting data from external attachments from the 'services for object' button. I am working in an sap ecc 6.0  environment. I have not found any tips on how to do this from google searches.
    Here is an example. If you look at most of the major documents (purchase order, invoice, delivery, etc.) there will be a little dropdown icon in the upper left corner of the screen
    That icon is the 'Services for Object' button. Clicking on it will display a small popup window with several options including one for attached documents.
    If an attachment (could be word, excel, pdf, URL, etc.) exists it will show up and can be viewed by double clicking on it. Does anyone know how to access
    that attachment programatically?
    Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi,
    Create a subroutine in your program and call the FM: SWU_OBJECT_PUBLISH as below:
    CALL FUNCTION 'SWU_OBJECT_PUBLISH'
        EXPORTING
          objtype           = gc_businessobj
          objkey            = gw_header-vbeln
        EXCEPTIONS
          objtype_not_found = 1
          OTHERS            = 2.
    This will automatically display your Services for Object ICON on your report. Here in the FM, gc_businessobj is a global business object = BUS2031(defined as a constant inside the pgm) and gw_header-vbeln can be any valid document no like a sale order, inquiry, quotation etc.
    Use this code snippet and this will work.

    4. Display it
    5. Pop up window appreared and no information occurred. Only White screen
    Is there's a missing configuration, plugin, or data in my SAP system/workstation?
    I tried to login to other PC and it worked.
    Just wondering what is missing on my computer.
    Your response will be helpful.

    Hey,
    I have the exact same problem as you have described. I also used my ipod as a watch but starting from today, whenever I unlock it the screen turns white until a reset is done. Even a factory reset through itunes didn't fix it.
    Have you found any solution?
    Bah, this is annoying.

    Could you please provide me any solution, function, example, similar case, etc. (based on 4.6c)?</b>
    Thank you all expert in advance.. I'll be here to provide you more information that need.

    I found the solution yet. Let me drop a note to be a memorandum.
    (1) Insert code into the last line of form <u>USEREXIT_READ_DOCUMENT</u> within report <u>MV45AFZZ</u>
    PERFORM UNITEXIT_READ_DOCUMENT.

    (2) Try open VA03 and insert attachment at Service for Object.
    (3) Reopen VA03, attachment list displayed suddenly.

  • Services for Object in creation mode

    Hi colleagues,
    I am facing one problem and I would appreciate your help and ideas. I want to enable user to use a functionality of "Services for object" in creation mode (in my case transaction IW31). In change or display mode this functionality is enabled, so creating new BOR object and such things are not necessary.
    I understand that services for object are disabled by default in creation mode, because it is not meaningful to assign some documents to object which does not yet exist. But in theoretical way, it should be possible to implement some "tricky" solution. Probably some temporary object could be created at the start of IW31 and attachments could be assigned to this object. And in some user exit executed during processing of save statement (after all checks and such things), attachments could be re-assigned to a real (persistent) object. For unsaved orders it would be necessary to delete temporary object and also attached documents.
    Have someone implemented something similar? Or any helpful ideas?
    Thank you all in advance.
    Regards,
    Adrian

    Hi,
    We have implemented exactly the same in a Ztransaction. Not sure to what extent this will help you. Check below code
      CREATE OBJECT w_gosman
      EXPORTING
    *     io_container     = io_container
    *     is_bc_object     = is_bc_object
        is_object        =  wa_object            "BOR object
    *    it_service_selection =
    *     io_callback      = io_callback
    *     ip_start_direct  = space
        ip_no_instance   = l_inst             "Pass SPACE in your case
        ip_no_commit     = l_commit        "Pass SPACE in your case
        ip_mode          = c_e
      EXCEPTIONS
        object_invalid   = 1
        callback_invalid = 2
        OTHERS           = 3
      IF sy-subrc <> 0.
    * MESSAGE ID SY-MSGID TYPE SY-MSGTY NUMBER SY-MSGNO
    *             WITH SY-MSGV1 SY-MSGV2 SY-MSGV3 SY-MSGV4.
      ENDIF.
    "Here just we are creating a reference by publishing the object.
    "During the transaction commit call below method.
      wa_object-objkey = "Pass your object ID.
    wa_object-objtyp = "Pass your business object
        CALL METHOD w_gosman->set_id_of_published_object
        EXPORTING
    *      is_bc_object   = is_object
          is_object      = wa_object
        EXCEPTIONS
          no_publication = 1
          OTHERS         = 2
        COMMIT WORK.
