Services in OBIEE 11g

Hi,
In OBIEE 10g version I have BI Services and Persentation Services. which should be stopped and started while changing the rpd.
How can I do this in OBIEE 11g?

Error in starting BI services of OBIEE 11g

Hi,
while starting the BI services for OBIEE 11g. After entering the the user name and password for weblogic server. Iam getting as wls.alive. It is not proceeding and the process stops. The obiee page is not opening.

Seems your database listerner and opmnctl is down....first start these in your services pane and then try starting your BI server....but keep in mind close the admin tool if it is open .

Follow the steps below:
1.Shutdown all OBIEE services.
2.Replace the files sawguidstate and sawguidstate.atrin the location:
<Instance_Home>\instances\<instance_name>\bifoundation\OracleBIPresentationServicesComponent\coreapplication_obips1\catalog\<project>\root\system\mktgcache\<name>
with the same files from a backup or from another working instance.
3.Restart all OBIEE services.

Start BI Services as Windows Service in OBIEE 11g

Hello All,
We need to Automate the Start BI Services in OBIEE 11g.
The options that were tried from my side to achieve the same are as follows:
1) Creating Command files for Admin_Server and BI_Server
2) Creating Utility files installSvc_Admin.cmd and installSvc_BIServer.cmd.
3) Created the Boot file.
4) Ran the Command files.
Still i am unable to automate the Start BI Services. I have to manually Start the BI Services whenever i login to the RDC.
Pls help.

The batch files should be able to solve your problem.

Unable to sign in presentation services in OBIEE 11g

Hi All,
I had installed OBIEE11g. Installation gone fine. all the services are up and running except scheduler.
I am able to login to Weblogic console and Enterprise manager, but I am not able to login to Presentation services. When I try to login it says Unable to Sign In (An Invalied User Name and Password).
Can any one guide me to overcome the issue.

Unable restart bi services in OBIEE 11g

Im unable to get the web anlytics page of OBIEE 11g after the modifications done for RPD in online.
I restart the BI server from EM not at all getting 100%up.Status is showing as 80% up and 20% down.
And i started manually BI services but still getting same error.
Can any one help on this.

Windows Services for OBIEE 11G

Hi Guy's..
I have successfully installed OBIEE 11G Enterprise Edition and able to access OBIEE 11G via http://localhost:9704/analytics/saw.dll?bieehome&startPage=1 by only starting the 'Start BI Services'.
The issue what i am facing is OBIEE 11G is only opening/accessible when i logged in to server( Starting the 'Start BI Services').Once i logout then unable to login to OBIEE11G via above link.
Can any one tell me i am missing with any install/configuration steps in installing the OBIEE11G? Please guide to the chapter in documentation..
If not then why OBIEE 11G software is built with out included with Windows Services.
I mean 'OBIEE 11G Services' have to always running with out dependencies on 'User Logged In or not',My objective is to make OBIEE 11G always up and running..

Auto start BI Services for OBIEE 11G

Hi,
We have installed OBIEE 11.1.1.7 on Windows 2008 64 bit operating system and we have restarted the server after successful install.
Now the issue is OBIEE is not accessible after reboot,it is running only if i run the Start BI Services under All Programs --> Oracle Business Intelligence --> Start BI Services and
this not accessible once i log off from the server.
I don't want very time login and start the obiee using all programs,instead i want to install a Windows service that will all run the BI Services,so that Users can access the OBIEE independent of
my login.
I tried many times installing the services for Admin and BI Server but even though the services are install/running successfully,but still not able to access the OBIEE URL.

Not able to start the services in obiee 11g

Hi ,
I installed the obiee 11 on my laptop and obiee 10 was also installed on it.the installation went fine and the url also came up fine.
But when i am again trying to open the url the it is not coming also checked the oracle business intelligence folder after the installation it created only one folder for 11 and 10 and start bi services is not there it is only showing the start oc4j.

try invoking 11g services (nqsserver, presentation server, java host, admin tool ) through command prompt and see if it is working

One of your services is not running. Are you able to login to the Enterprise Manager Console:
http://serverrname:7001/em (or whatever port WL is deployed on)
If so, you will see what is not running.
If you are not able to pull this URL up, then WebLoigc is not running. 11g on Windows only installs 2 out of box services, "Process Manager" and "Node Manager". You still need to start WebLoigc or create it as a windows services. From there you can access the EM and manage all the other services.

Regarding Presentation services in obiee 11g

i am getting a strange problem.
the presentation services starting again and again.when i login it the services goes down and then automattically started.
this is happening again-2.
please help on this problem.

I will give you some inputs.
Before doing anything take backup please --- Don't' forgot.
First of all kill all the obiee related services and clear the logs also then start the all services newly.
If still the problem present please check your logs and post the error in the blog, will try to help you.
I have faced similar issue long back, I have followed same thing it's working fine.

For setting the MDS password:
On the menu on the left, expand “WebLogic Domain”;
Right-click “bifoundation_domain;
On the pop-up menu select “JDBC Data Sources;
Click “mds-owsm”;
Select the “Connection Pool” tab;
Set the password and hit “Apply”;
To set the BIPLATFORM password:
Expand “Business intelligence” menu on the left;
Click the “Deployment” tab;
Click the “Scheduler” tab under deployment;
Click “Lock and Edit Configuration” button;
Set the password and hit “Apply”;
Click the “Activate Changes” button;
you can remove AdminServer.lok and bi_server1.lok
from: \user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\servers\AdminServer\tmp
Restart the services.
