  • MSS Overview page

    hi,
    We have to implement old and new MSS business package as Web Dynpro(new) business package does not provide all the services.
    So my question here is how to make a comprehensive overview page. What is the best way to make an Overview page with services from Old business page also??
    Thanks

    Hi Suresh,
    Thanks for the information. Yes i thought of this solution.
    But the new overview page has only one iview. This iview(web Dynpro based) has links to all other services of new business package. So obviously we need to modify this overview web dynpro application. I am looking for anyinput in which we can make links to old services similar to the new services on overview page.
    Thanks

  • Can't find services in the Detailed Navigation when open from Overview page

    Hi,
    We have developed a custom area page for our ESS application. The area is visible in the Overview page as well as in TLN (Top leavel navigation). When we open the area from TLN the services under this area are visible in the Detailed Navigation(DN) on the left. But when we are trying to open the area from the overview page we can't be able to see the services in the DN and we have realized that the focus is on "Overview" in the TLN. In DN also only the Overview link is coming. But for other standard ESS applications the focus in the TLN is changing.
    Please help to find the solution.
    Thanks,
    Sekhar

    Hi Sekhar,
    Did you get any solution for this issue. I am facing the same situation.Please advise.

    hi, hav u created webdynpro iView..
    Suppose you want a new area which has two servicex.. create WD iView which would point to your application.
    Define  Applicationparameter  in iView defining menuarea, menugroup, menuheader, which you will be defining in SPRO.
    Now create weddynpro proxy page and the add above iView to your page.
    Now create iView for service i.e your webdynpro appliaction.
    Now add above iView to new proxy page. Thus now we have to proxy page.
    Create workset and add this two page to workset.
    Add this workset to ESS role.
    note down PCD location of above two pages.Now all necessary configuation from portal side is completed
    Now u would need to do your SPRO setting.. Go to resource node and create resouce. and give  PCD location in URL of PCD Page. Similarly you would need to do this for other page also ...in resouce node.
    Now we have defined resouce...now we would define the area...give your area name..and give resouce name.
    Now define subarea.. and add subarea to areas..from assing sub-area to area node.
    Now create a service..from define service node..give resouce name in link resouce text box..
    Now assign service to subarea..
    Now to make it available on overview page....you need to add Group page to Group Area page, to make it visible on ESS Overview Page.
    IMG-> Cross Application Components -> Homepage Framework->Areas -> Assign Areas to Area Group
    Pages -> Assign Areas to Area Group Pages (Add and change Entries).
    Click on u2018New Entriesu2019.
    Now you can save..it..

  • How to do Extension in "Update Standard Appraisal: Overview" page

    Hi,
    I'm posting many threads for the past two days, but still i have lot of unknown things against my client's requirement. So here i posting my complete
    requirement what i need to do.
    My OA Page Navigation: HR Employee Self service (Responsibility) -> Performance Mangement (Function) ->Appraisals (Tab) ->Click Update Icon
    Then "Update Standard Appraisal: Overview" page will appear, in that if i click "Add Competencies" button then competencies records are adding.
    After i do the "proficiency rating" for each competency, i need to calculate the sum of all proficiency rating,
    this sum should be shown in the screen and store in the database.
    This is my requirement, please explain how to do this.
    I already tried by the following steps:
    1. Created button "Calculate Competencies" and message styled text "Competencies total score" by personalization.
    2.Then i extended the CompetenciesCO controller using jdev 10g, i created CompetenciesExtendCO.java, then i written my logic.
    3.I posted that new Controller in the same place where CompetenciesCO is avail (This process is suggested by Gyan to use a custom TOP under $JAVA_TOP).
    4.Then i ran my page, but it throws "could not create java file" error.
    Anyone can explain the whole process for this requirement, becuase i worked in development but not in extension/personalization.
    Lot of Thanks in advance,
    SAN

    SAN,
    use below to iterate through all the rows of column.
    OAViewObject vo = getPoSimpleSummaryVO1(); //Replace getPoSimpleSummaryVO1 with the VO attached with the table
    PoSimpleSummaryVORowImpl row = null;
    int matches = 0;
    int fetchedRowCount = vo.getFetchedRowCount();
    RowSetIterator approveIter = vo.createRowSetIterator("approveIter");
    if (fetchedRowCount > 0)
         approveIter.setRangeStart(0);
         approveIter.setRangeSize(fetchedRowCount);
         for (int i = 0; i < fetchedRowCount; i++)
           row = (PoSimpleSummaryVORowImpl)approveIter.getRowAtRangeIndex(i);
           String selectFlag = (String)row.getAttribute("<AttributeName>");
           //Continue to add the above value withe the previous Value.
    //The above code will give addition of all the rows...Once u get this value set the same to the Text Bean created Personalization.Regards,

    Hi,
    I would like to change the Overview page of the ESS framework and add ICONS and links poiniting to my custom WD for Java applications. Can anyone help me out. I am aware of how to add resources/Services under a sub Area. But I want to also make an entry point of my applications from the overview page.
    Regards,
    Murali.

    hi muralidharan,
    folow these steps to add links to ur application in the overview page of ESS.
    1. first of all, create the iviews and the pages of your webdynpro applications.
    2. create resource in the transaction spro. (spro->img->personal management->employee self service->general settings->homepage framework->resource)
    3. add the pcd location of ur page in this resource.
    4. create a service  and then add this resource in this service. select the appropriate type of service.
    5. add this service in the subarea. this will act as the entry point for your application. do not forget to maintion the description , coz  ESS will take that string as the link!
    6. add this subarea into the area .

  • Integration a Web Dynpro ABAP application within one of my EP overview page

    Hi Experts,
    I've got an issue when integrating a Web Dynpro ABAP application within one of my EP overview pages.
    We've implemented PLM using the Web Dynpro ABAP scenario for employees. Now Iu2019m trying to integrate this into the Employee Self-Service overview page. I've got no issue to make the icon and area title appears, but when I click on it I get a blank page with Error 404. However when clicking on the link in the navigation bar (Level 2) then I get the page fine. So it looks like EP is not able to integrate correctly the Web Dynpro ABAP into the overview page in EP. Is there any specific Resource configuration?
    One more thing is that if I've implemented the same iView using Resources -> Services -> Sub Areas -> Areas everything works fine, but I receive two navigation Levels (Area Group contains the Area Link and when I click it brings me to Sub Area with the single Service Link) I want to avoid this double clicking, calling the application directly from Area Group -> Area link.
    Anyone has ever come across that kind of issue? Has anyone ever integrated a WDA application directly into an overview page?

    Hi,
    We faced a similar problem with BSPs and had to change the definition of the area link type entry.
    I am assuming you have set the area link type to WebDynpro for ABAP and the resource is calling an Iview/page that has the WD ABAP application configured.
    To get around the error, change the Area Link type to Calls a Portal page and make sure the resource calls an Iview/Page that has the WD ABAP application configured.

  • Critical Error when running MSS Work Overview Page

    Hi All,
    I am experiencing a critical error when I open the MSS Overview Page in the portal.  Attendance Overview, Reminder of Dates,
    Team Calendar & Status Overview for Personnel Change Requests each display the following error message:
    A critical error has occured. Processing of the service had to be terminated. Unsaved data has been
    lost.
    Please contact your system administrator.
    Read of object with ID

    failed.
    I have made the following discoveries:
    1. When I provide the role with Super_Administration rights, it works perfectly fine but once I remove this, it stops working.
    2. When I assign the authenticated group as a child group to my customised MSS & ESS Group, the iViews work perfectly fine but ESS gains access to MSS roles.
    I have had a read through the following Separate UWL Admin from System Admin? but I am not too sure whether this relates directly to my problem, if anyone can shed some light on this, please do.
    Thanks in advance.
    Oloy.

    Hi Rajendra,
    I have assigned the necessary permissions to both the default SAP MSS folder (Content Provided By SAP -> Line Manager -> Manager Self- Service)
    and I have also assigned permissions to my custom folder however, this has still not helped.
    I assigned Read/Write permissions with the end-user box ticked.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Oloy.

  • Want MSS to look like ESS but no MSS Overview Page??

    Hi All,
    We've recently upgraded to ECC6.  We've tackled the ESS side of things but no the business want MSS to look and feel the same.  My problem is that there is no overview page in MSS like there is in ESS.
    I have tried copying the ESS overview page to MSS and pointing the menu area to my newly created MSS menu but it still displays the ESS menu.
    Can anyone point me in the right direction.  Where is the MSS overview page or how can I create one?
    Regards,
    Liz.

  • Overview Page - Manipulating the data

    Hello eveyone,
    As I´m new to SAP EP/ESS, I have a question..
    As far as I know, I should not change the data from inside "Content Provided by SAP", so created a "Z" profile in order to eliminate some of the options that exists in the "Employee Self-Service" profile.
    I´ve created a "Z_Employee Self-Service" profile, delta linked to the original one.
    So far so good.
    Then, I want to hide the option "Purchasing" from the navigation area. This is an easy task: Propertie called "Invisible in Navigation Areas" is set to true.
    But, the overview page, still have that icon (shopping cart), that points out to Purchasing.
    Question: how can I eliminate that shopping cart link from the overview page?
    If possible, I would like a direct procedure of how to do this, because I will probably need to repeat this for other Self-Service option, since we are not going to use them all.
    Thanks for the help!
    Ricardo Sancio Lóra
    Brazil

    Yes, the IMG option is more like what I´m looking for..
    I was able to find this:
    AREA: EMPLOYEE_PURCHASING_ERP2005
    SUBAREA: EMPLOYEE_PURCHASING_SUBPURCHASING_2005
    SERVICE: EMPLOYEE_PURCHASING_SHOP5
    This whole is pretty much the "Purchase" link I want to eliminate, but I´m not finding the 'overview' itens.
    I will keep on looking, any help is welcome
    Thanks!

  • ESS Overview page EP 7

    Hi there,
    Please can someone assist me?

    -     Clock in/Out Corrections
    -     Time statement
    <u>The client only wants to use the Leave Request workset.</u>
    1. How can I remove the other Worksets from the overview page?
    2. How can I add my own URL iViews to the overview page?
    Many thanks in advance
    Jo-lize

    Hi ,
    To just give you an overview , you have area group pages -> which have area pages ->  sub areas -> services ->Resources
    Eveything is defined under transaction SPRO -> Home page framework
    Define resource - > define additional links , custom apps etc here
    Define service -> link that to a resource
    Add to a current area or create a new area page and add service to it.
    Finally add your area page to the main ess page..

  • HPF -Overview - page not found

    we are using home page framework, we careated new OVerview page with Area Pages, Services, resources
    when we clikc on the areas in Overview page, it is displaying page not found, we found and saw all the config is good in backend and portal, but could not figureout this.
    any idea?
    is this a permissions issue?

    Got it, thanks a lot
    we did not enter anything in "Link Resource"  in "Areas" in backend.
    We need to add Resource -> add resource in Link Resource of Areas .. that fixed this problem..

  • New Tab in ESS overview Page.

    Hi gurus,
    i want to add a new tab on the ESS overview page which on click  will  open one web page (Http://sdn.sap.com)
    i have created resource and given the url in "URL for Resource Object"  and
    created a Area with linking the resource  with "Area link type" as direct url launched in separate window.
    but still is is not appearing in ESS overview page.
    tell me where i went
    Regards
    K Naveen Kishore

    You must have created a resource for this new link in R/3 Homepage framework...
    Now you must have created a service using this resource....
    Now assigned this service to sub-area
    And then assign this sub area to an area....
    Now assign this area to used group area page...that already contain existing areas....
    If you are missing on any above step than you will face the problem that you are now getting.
    Tell us which step you are missing on...I will elaborate further.
    For more details refer below doc :
