Services menu says NO SERVICES APPLY

Hi,
How do you change the preferences for Safari to turn on the services menu?
I have checked all the preferences in the services preferences, and I still get the greyed out menu saying NO SERVICES APPLY.
Where are all the services?

In fact I know how to do screen shots, that is not the problem. I am trying to use the services menu to access another application that can do a screen shot of the entire web page - however long it is. It manages to capture even the areas outside the screen. So its useful to create mini versions of my websites to use on my own website.
So what SHOULD happen is that the menu for SnapWeb, should appear in the services menu, so I can use this feature, so effectively NOTHING would be selected on the page.
I can see what you mean, by selecting something on the web page, as this also displays the SnapWeb menu. It just does not appear if nothing is selected.
In the pre-Snow Leopard days the Services menu used to have all its items shown all the time regardless of whether anything was appropriate, Greying out the ones that were not appropriate.
Never mind, I have found a work-around, its just annoying as I thought this was meant to be a feature of SnapWeb.

Firefox just doesn't support services. It's very disappointing, but I've search for many many hours and couldn't find any plugin/hack/workaround to enable them. Finally I just went back to Safari.

I'm a recent convert and have a problem. Each application shows "No Services Apply" I discovered this with Evernote and when to check the Services for screen capture and all the correct buttons appear to be enabled.
Can you tell me what this message means and how I can enable the services from my application?

What are you setting it up as.. join wireless network .. the very worst setup, it will disappear.. reboot the whole network in order modem. router TC.. clients and it will likely reappear.
Tell us what network setup you are using..
If you setup with cable to a computer completely isolated from the network with TC also isolated.. finish the setup of everything you want. .before update.. then plug it into the network. .then restart everything in correct order.. it will work most of the time.

When you updated, the old version remained on your Mac, in a subfolder within Applications named iWork '09. Any icons you have on the Dock still point to that old version. Try opening the Numbers that is located in your main Applications folder, not the one in the subfolder. If that works, then drag that one to the Dock.

Firefox 18.0.1 Mac OS 10.6.8: "Services Menu" items no longer available, "No Services Apply" only item showing.

Where have the 'services menu' items gone? How can they be recovered/reinstated? Tried 'reset' ; tried restart -- still no 'services' (e.g. "email address", "open URL").

But I deleted all the preference files (not just the one you suggest) and restarted , etc... several times.
End result: Flash CS4 still crashes, if not on opening, then everytime I try to open my old documents and reset the preferences.
I am currently reinstalling my entire hard drive just to try to get CS4 to work again.
I have worked with Flash since 1998, using it professionally for everything from short interactive demos to feature length animated films.
CS4 is without a doubt the most poorly designed, inefficient version I have ever dealt with.
A great and useful animation program was turned into a piece of bloated garbage filled with bugs and inefficiencies.
I will switch to the first animation program that comes along to replace it, now that adobe seems to think the only real use for flash is to create low level acton scripts (despite being used for tv show level animation production for years.)
These forums amply demonstrate that adobe has almost no useful support for its products and no real vision or idea of what it is doing.
The fact that you can no longer even export flash as a quicktime movie that actually accurately plays is another nail in the coffin.
I wish somebody at Adobe cared.

When we migrated from a Windows environment for our Reports10g Services to Linux, for some reports, the default parameter form generated from the browser (rwservlet) has prompts with font size 2 which is rather small for some users.
Is there a global setting at the Reports Services level where this is controlled? I want to avoid opening each report and changing font size on the parameter form.

HT1338 I have os 10.4.11. But my apple menu says I have no software updates needed. How can this be?

You have to purchase major version upgrades. If you don't have an Intel model, then you can look for Leopard on eBay or Amazon.com. Be sure to purchase only a full retail installer.
If you have an Intel model, then purchase Snow Leopard from Apple's Online Store instead - $29.00.

Why does edit button says 'delete' or 'apply'

In iCal when I create a new event and begin to edit it, the btton on the lower right of the event window seems to sometimes say 'delete' and at other times 'apply'. Can anybody explain why this is or if there are any rules which govern this behaviour? On more then one occassion I've entered the details of a new event (or edited an older one) and then unwittingly hit the 'delete' button and lost the lot. Driving me nuts!

Same problem. Very annoying. I have made a personnalized title using Motion. And everytime I use it in FCPX, it crashes. The worst of all : I am unable to open the current project. I have found that if I removed the preset made with Motion, the FCPX would open, but a missing title alert. S the only way is to place the title again. And after a few atempts, FCPX crashes again. And so on…
So sorry, no real solutions, but at least I don't feel alone.

I can see firefox 3.6.16 in Applications on my Mac but from the top bar the dropdown Firefox menu says I have 3.6.10. What do I do to run and use 3.16.3?

You appear to have Firefox 3.6.10 installed and in use, so therefore presumably on your hdd.
Without upgrading to the newest major version firefox 4, the latest version available is Firefox 3.6.16 , with Firefox 3.6.17 being the next one; scheduled I believe, for 26th April. So to be up-to-date with Firefox 3.6 you should be trying to upgrade to 3.6.16, which I understand you have already downloaded.
First of all try an automatic upgrade by using:
* Help -> Check for upgrades
* as explained here : [[Updating Firefox]]
* if you have problems the link I provided earlier may help [[software update failed]]
If you are unable to get the upgrade to work you can always just do an install of Firefox 3.6.16. BUT please do NOT use the option that says something along the lines of remove settings, if you do you are likely to loose important stored information, including passwords and bookmarks.

Button Not Linked but Properties Menu says it is Help Please!

On one of my menu previous buttons I have linked it to the menu it needs to go to. I have verified this several times in the properties menu. Yet everytime I go to check the project in build it tells me it is not linked. In fact it does not work and I can't figure out why. I have tried to clear it recreate and position the button and relink it but no luck. I am only having this problem with this one button. I am stupmed any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I did look for another button. Anyway I looked in the flow chart and saw it was not linked so I link it and now it seems to work, This is my very first project in Encore so it is a big learning process. I am going to burn this to disc now and see how everything goes. Quick question for you if you don't mind. Do I need to render the project everytime before I create a dvd or will the settings stay as long as I don't alter the project?

[SOLVED] Openbox-menu saying Menu not found...

I installed Arch with Openbox. For the menu, I want to use openbox-menu to see my Applications.
In menu.xml, I put the line:

But when I point it in the menu, I get:
Menu not found. Please specify a menu specification file.
I get the same result in Terminal either as a user or as root.

Openbox-menu comes from AUR and the menu.xml is a copy of my Archbang installation. And yes, openbox-menu works like a charm on Archbang. So what am I missing?

HT6114 Can't save downloads to existing files?? In the "save as" box I use the little "search" window to locate where I want to put a new file but when found the location file does not operate. And dropdown menu says "save to online acct"

When I try to save an emailed-to-me document to an existing file on my hard drive by using the little "search" window the recipient file is inactive and does not open to recieve the document I want to save (nothing happens when I click on it and it's a subdued color).
If I click through my files manually by starting on the desktop and working my way to the location of the recipient file I can save.
This takes a lot of time and is DRIVING ME CRAZY!
Please tell me I've just missed something obvious that can be fixed in a jiffy!?

OMG!! It also happens when I try to open a file from inside a program like Adobe Reader. If I use the little corner search window all the files are inoperable.

No translation problem. It simplly rejected my ID as being non-Italian.

I can now see the instructions you provided. Just an FYI in case someone else makes use of this I have TWO ipad3s running on this ID, one is still in the United States and running, I don't know if this influences the result.

My application tells me that Flash Player is out of date but, my my drop down menu says I have the latest version. What do I do?

I have 3 Flash Player installers in my download folder. Not one of them will load properly, or install the update I'm told I need. Any suggestions folks? Thanks.
