Thanks for the reply.
I am using Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8.2 (build b06-fcs). Could be some problem in the application itself. Can you suggest what may be missing? As suggested in the bug description i used the wscompile -infix option as well.

Edited by: mu_kumar on Mar 5, 2008 9:00 PMHello,
Did you download the window version?
Download it from
https://sdlc4e.sun.com/ECom/EComActionServlet;jsessionid=127ACE07200555497A21DDC654885146
And don't worry, it's the correct version. Also could you check on your PC,
Start\Programs\ Sun Microsystems\ Application Server PE 9.
Also which operative system are you using?

Get blank page in Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8
I installed Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8 and got blank page in http://localhost:1100/ and http://localhost:1100/hello/.
The port 1100 is my default port of HTTP port.
My enviroment:
Win2000 professional
j2sdk1.4.2_05
Tomcat 4.1 (use port : 8080, and it works fine after installing Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8 )
Anybody can help me to solve this problem? I really want to learn J2EE by using this way.
This is my server.log when invoking the URL http://localhost:1100/ or http://localhost:1100/hello/ .

at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:534)The way i solved it was the following :
I removed all java related packages/applications/servers etc existing in my pc .
my meaning of remove is complete uninstallation of any java application .
then i installed back again j2sdk1.42_05 then i installed the sun application server .
everything was succesful since then .
If you have any java version installed in your pc , for example j2sdk1.4.2_05 and this
package supports previous servers or other java applications and then you install
sun application server , it doesn't work .
It seems the previous java apps . don't "release" some java resources which are
used or can be used by sun application server .
I hope this can be useful to you .
good luck .

ThanksThis is an element ordering issue. env-entry is before resource-ref in the schema so it must be declared in the same order.

New to JEE5 not running Sun Java System Application Server Platform 9
Hi! I've downloaded the JEE5 in Windows XP, the installation was fine, I start the server following this
From the Start menu, Programs => Sun Microsystems => Application Server PE=> Start Default Server.
and this message appears: Domain domain1 is ready to receive client requests. Additional services are being started in the background.
but when I confirm that the server is running clicking here:
http://localhost:8080.
it's not running.
I didn't change the default settings in the installation, and I have the PATH variable set to C:\Sun\AppServer\bin.
But this one does work fine:
http://localhost:4848/asadmin/admingui/TopFrameset.
What could be happening?What could be happening is that port 8080 has been in use at the time you were installing Java EE SDK and installer selected an alternative HTTP port number for you - if you were not paying close attention to the content of the appropriate installer text box it is rather easy to miss it...
To check which port is being used, access admin console at
http://localhost:4848
and log in. Click "Application Server" on the left side menu and you'll see the list of port numbers used. First port listed under HTTP Port(s) is the one you should use to access your server. -
Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9
I've done several searches and can't find any threads discussing connecting to the Application Server included with Sun's J2EE SDK.
JDeveloper (10.1.3.1.0.3984) has nice choices for creating a connection to various application servers:
OC4J
Oracle Application Server 10g
Weblogic
Tomcat
JBoss
But there seems to be no info on how to connect to Sun's SDK server nor Jasper (which I have running on one of my Linux servers).
Any ideas? Can I just "pretend" it is one of those other types of servers?JDeveloper doesn't have a built-in connection to the Sun server, but you can still deploy applications created in JDeveloper to that server.
The two options that you have are:
1. Use the sun server Ant tasks and the integrated Ant support in JDeveloper to create an ant build file that does the deployment for you - and run it from within JDeveloper.
2. Create the EAR/WAR file from JDeveloper and then pick it up from the Sun deployment tools and just deploy it to the server. -

|#]Hi,
Did you ever figure out what the problem was? I am having the same issue.
Kind Regards,
Andre -
How deploy the EJB in security on the Sun Java System Application Server 9?
I hava deploied a simple Hello EJB Object on PE 9(Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9). I can use this EJB object without user name an password On any client. See the following code section:
public static void main(String[] args) {
try{
Properties props = System.getProperties();
props.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.sun.enterprise.naming.SerialInitContextFactory");
props.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL,"iiop://localhost:3700");
Context ctx = new InitialContext(props);
Hello h = (Hello) ctx.lookup("ejb/test/Hello");
System.out.println(h.sayHello());
}catch(Exception e){
e.printStackTrace();
Please tell me how deploy the EJB in security on the Sun Java System Application Server 9? So that, The client must set the user name and password when lookup the ejb object. Like the following:
props.put(Context.SECURITY_PRINCIPAL,"admin")
props.put(Context.SECURITY_CREDENTIALS,"1234");Guys,
I too have the same issue. If anyone has an answer, please let me know.
Is this GlassFish problem? or Prgram issue?

Also, I have enabled the "Default Principal To Role Mapping"
BTW, I'm able to run other EJB3 examples [that does'nt involve any

Cannot install Sun Java System Application Server
When trying to install the J2EE platform - specifically the "Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 8 2005Q1" - on my Windows XP SP2 Pro computer, the installation process terminates while checking disk space. The same thing happens when I try to install earlier versions. I have more than 20 GByte free on disk and JDK1.5.0_1 previously installed.
What did I do wrong?Try to run the setup with -javahome option, followed by the JDK 5 home directory. If the installer has the option to enable the verbose mode, enable it.

Slow start-up for JSF projects on Sun Java System Application Server 8.2?
App. Server: Sun Java System Application Server 8.2
I really don't understand why a JSF project starts-up so slow on Sun Java System Application Server 8.2.
I've gone through the "Overview of Sun Java System Application Server Performance" guide and tuned my server.
It's not memory or processor, I am developing on a SunOS 5.8 Generic_117350-27 sun4u sparc SUNW,UltraAX-MP.
The JSF project contains one index.jsp and one login.faces - that's it. But it takes up towards 15 seconds to load the page, if I type:
http://<domain>:8080/login/
I would believe that the application should be a lot faster.
What can I do to solve this?
Thanks,
--ToddYes I am.
Right now I have:
<!-- Faces Servlet -->
<servlet>
<servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet</servlet-class>
<load-on-startup> -1 </load-on-startup>
</servlet>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>Persistent Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>com.icesoft.faces.webapp.xmlhttp.PersistentFacesServlet</servlet-class>
<load-on-startup> 1 </load-on-startup>
</servlet>
<servlet>
<servlet-name>Blocking Servlet</servlet-name>
<servlet-class>com.icesoft.faces.webapp.xmlhttp.BlockingServlet</servlet-class>
<load-on-startup> 1 </load-on-startup>
</servlet>
<!-- Preload -->
<servlet>
<servlet-name>Transaction Browser</servlet-name>
<jsp-file>/transactionbrowser.jspx</jsp-file>
<load-on-startup> 1 </load-on-startup>
</servlet>It still doesn't work, so you may be right.
Thanks,
