SES Installation with SOA 11

Hi
Can i install Sensor Edge Server (SES) in a PC where i already have installed JDeveloper 11g TP3 (with SOA) and Oracle Database XE?
Could appear any problem related with OC4J?
I saw in SES installation notes that its needed Oracle Database Standard or Enterprise. Is this correct?
I'm new with Oracle tools.
Many thanks.
Jorge

Hi,
you just need DB EE for streams (dispatcher). The rest works, even with XE.
If you ask me, for plain development purpose, you could take the ear from the latest SES patch and deploy to an oc4j container, e.g. 10.1.3 standalone.

  • What is  OLite database which come with SOA suite ?

    Hi
Thank you for reading my post
I saw that there is something named OLite database that installs with SOA suite in Standard mode , can some one explain me what is this product ?
    thanks

oLite is the shortcut for Oracle Lite - which is a small database, storing
    a) bpel data, like it's process artifacts, as well as execution data - audittrails,
    b) dt and runtime data from ESB
    c) OWSM configurations
without this component running, the SOA Suite will not work
For production use we recommend to install a fledged oracle db - and run the repository creation assistant, which will create the needed db objects

  • BPEL Installation Steps with SOA ..

    Hi,
Can anyone pls tell me the complete steps to integrate BPEL with SOA... I have already configured SOA domain sucessfully and its up nad running ....

    Hi Ravi,
Thx for your reply ... this is a fresh installation I am trying to do, here are the version details:-
    SOA:- 11.1.1.3
    WLS:- 10.3.3
    RCU:- 11.1.1.3
I have installed and configured SOA suite and bam .. and could see the both the consoles .. now I need to integrate BPEL into this ... these are the steps I followed so far :-
Task 1 - Complete the installation planning requirements
Task 2 - Run RCU to create the necessary schemas.
Task 3 - Install Oracle WebLogic Server
Task 4 - Install Oracle SOA Suite
Task 5 - Configure Oracle SOA Suite
And I have created a SOA domain which has a bam_managed srv & soa_managed srv, please let me know what next to do to install and configure a BPEL domain with SOA suite ... I would like to create a seperate domain for BPEL ...
    Thx in advance ...

  • What happens with SOA schemas during SOA (appServer) Suite reintstallation

I have installed Oracle DB for Vista and also - I have installed serveral times SOA suite - the last time - I installed is using advanced wizard and against my Oracle database (so - not against Oracle lite as it can be by default) and it was sucesfully (all the ESB, BPEL, web services consoles were avialable), then I started to delete the homes of odl suite's installation and result is that my SOA installation is not working now. As I can see from logs - it is becuase of lack of ESB, BPEL etc html documents in htpdoc directory of apache server of SOA Suite.
So my main question is - now I plan to reinstall the SOA suite against the same database - but is it safe? As I guess - previous installation has already created a lot of database objects (besides the usual ESB, Web services and BPEL scripts that should be execute before beginning of installation) and so - what happens with them during reinstallation and should I make any deletions by hand before second installation of SOA suite. I guess - if some old objects will be detected as existing, then SQL scripts will fail during second installation and apparently - any configuration assistants will exit with error and completion will be impossible.
Well - one more question - can I make installation of two SOA suites against the same database?
    Thanks in advance!

First of all thanks for the qucik reply.
Ok, that explains why I can't run the BPEL Process Manager standalone with a shortcut.
So do I assume right that if the Weblogic Server is started, the BPEL Process Manager is started as well? Running on the WLS? Or is there no seperate BPEL Process Manager instance any more?
I installed everything as described in the first link I posted and made the necessary configurations as described.
Nevertheless, when I go to http://localhost:7001/em I arrive in the following situation:
    - I can't see any “SOA” folder in the left-hand side navigation tree as it was described in the tutorial above.
    - As you can see on the screenshot linked below, the soa_server1 is down. I tried to start this server by clicking on it and then I chose to start the server from the WebLogic-PullDown menu from the EM-Menu.
First I received an error saying that the Node-Manager is not started. So I started that one as well and tried again to start soa_server1. Then after a while I saw on the pop-up that soa_server1 has been started. But as you can see from the screenshot below it still appears to be down. When I then try to start it again, the EM-pop-up however says that it is running.
    http://i38.tinypic.com/262wj88.jpg
How - if everything would be running - could I then get to the BPEL process managing view on the EM?
The next problem I have with the JDeveloper. I installed as described above, but don't arrive in installing the plugin. The Update-Process finds the correct plugin. Then I select to install it and already after two seconds it seems to be installed.
How do I create my BPEL process with that updated version of the JDeveloper. Do I have to select Applications -> new -> SOA Composite -> Composite BPEL process or how does that work?
Thanks again in advance for your cooperation!

  • Installing 10g adapters with SOA suite 10.3.1

I am trying to do a full install (run-time & design-time) Adapters (JDE) for Oracle 10g on an existing installation of SOA suite 10.1.3, with app server 10.3.1. The product documentation talks about installing J2EE and web cache installation, but in this forum I also read that adapters are not supported for this release. It would very helpful if somebody could tell me the steps and products that I need for installing the adapters. The installation presently on my machine are:
    1. SOA Suite 10.3.1
    2. Jdeveloper
    3. Oracle XE database.

@Shailesh: I ran into the same problem, so i think that it is the same: You probably just have the wrong Version (10.1.2.0.2 or so) of Adapters. Try the one from this page, which installed without problems on my machine:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/htdocs/101310.html
The documentation for this version is available here: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/integrate.1013/b28995/toc.htm
@user605650: Universal Installer always proposes a new ORACLE_HOME with its own name and file location. This is indeed a bit misleading. Just do not type a new path for the new Name. Simply choose the Name(!) of the SoaSuite-OracleHome from the Dropdown-Box above the Path-Inputfield (something like oracleas1 or so), and the Path-field will update itself. Then just do the installation.
    Hope that helps, bye,
    Magnus

  • Deploying adf application on weblogic server with soa patch

    Hi ,
Web logic version : 10.3.6. With SOA server installaed on it.
There is one admin node and two managed nodes.
    Jdeveloper version 11.1.6.0.
I developed a war file and deployed it on the server but the application is not up in the server. so as suggested by certain blogs , I constructed an EAR and deployed.
But the issue is that :
    1. I can able to deploy only on admin node .
    2. When I tried to deploy it on the all nodes it is showing the below error.

  • Oracle 10g R2 installation with ASM+RAC

    Gurus,
Need some suggestuon on Oracle 10g R2 installation with ASM and RAC option.
We have found many documents on the Oracle, HP, HP-Oracle CTC and third party web sites, but nothing that is specific to this particular combination of separate
ORACLE_HOMEs, ASM and 10g RAC CRS. It is unclear for me from the documentation how this combination of ASM and 10.2g RAC may best be installed.
The high level steps i got after reading lot of docs as follows - but i am not sure whether these are correct or not. if they are correct, can any one share their experience/notes please?
    1) Install CRS
    2) Install RDBMS for ASM HOME - create separater oracle home for ASM instance using OUI
    3) Install RDBMS for RAC Database Home - create separater oracle home for RAC database using OUI
    4) Create ASM database using DBCA -
    5) Use dbca to create database.

Oracle provides 'paint by numbers' tutorials called 'Oracle By Example'. (Go to OTN, check under the Training tab)
They have one for a Windows based ASM/RAC that you might want to review. Not your specific environment, but the steps will be dag-nabbed close.
    I recommend walking the path (http://otn.oracle.com >> training:OBE >> Database 10g Release 1:VMWare:Installation
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/obe/obe10gdb_vmware/install/racinstallwin2k/racinstallwin2k.htm

  • Multiple independent devices on Single installation with independent monthly rental charges

    Hi Experts,
4 Independent single register based devices installed (Tech+ Billing) in a single installation with same time slice. There is only monthly rental charges for each independent meter. No meter reading required and NO consumption charges. I believe we can do this scenario. Can anybody advise for any consequences?
Note: number of devices can change from 2/3/4.

    Hi,
How are you going to satisfy the meter read orders to make it billable without entering the meter reads? If you do not need any meter read, can't you use any flat rate / time dependent prices? The amount output will be same but you will not be using any settle* variant program. You may use any Lumsum* variant program. If you do not use the devices for entering meter read, do you have any requirement of installing the devices with the utility installation?
    Thanks.

  • How to use SOA Suite in conjunction with SOA Analysis and Design Tools

    Hi everybody,
I am a novice in this field and I need some help regarding integrating analysis and design tools with SOA Suite.
We used to analyze and design with Oracle Designer and use its powerful form generator to develop a system. It almost covered all the software lifecycle and kept the traceability between anlaysis, design and implementation.
I have studied about the SOA concepts and read some papaer about SOA Suite. I have also installed the SOA demo based on SOA Suite and I found it absolutely amazing, but my problem is that It seems oracle does not have any tools for SOA Analysis and Design. am I right? if so, How can we analyze and design a system based on SOA concepts and implement it using soa suite in such a way that keeps traceability? What tools is used for this purpose?
It seems that IBM have some tools like Rational Software Architect and Rational Suite which enable people to design and analyze based on SOA concepts and then generates some pieces of code (like oracle designer in old days) but is it possible to design in these tools and then generating codes for SOA Suite ? (for example generating a bpel file from a design model)
As I told before I am a novice in this field and I would be so grateful if other users can share their expriences regarding this matter.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Navid

Learn About All Things SOA:: SOA India 2007:: IISc, Bangalore (Nov 21-23)
Aligning IT systems to business needs and improving service levels within the constraints of tight budgets has for long been the topmost challenge for CIOs and IT decision makers. Service-oriented Architecture (SOA) provides a proven strategy to clearly address both of these objectives. Creating more agile information systems and making better use of existing infrastructure are two leading factors that are boosting SOA adoption across large, medium, and small Indian industries from the BFSI, Retail, Telecom, Manufacturing, Pharma, Energy, Government and Services verticals in India. If you are an IT decision maker belonging to any of these verticals, SOA India 2007 (IISc, Bangalore, Nov 21-23 2007) presents a unique opportunity to gather cutting-edge business and technical insights on SOA and other related areas such as BPM, BPEL, Enterprise 2.0, SaaS, MDM, Open Source, and more.
At SOA India 2007, acclaimed SOA analysts, visionaries, and industry speakers from across the world will show you how to keep pace with change and elevate your IT infrastructure to meet competition and scale effectively. The organisers are giving away 100 FREE tickets worth INR 5000 each to the first 100 qualified delegates belonging to the CxO/IT Decision Maker/Senior IT Management profile, so hurry to grab this opportunity to learn about all things SOA. You can send your complete details, including your designation, e-mail ID, and postal address directly to Anirban Karmakar at [email protected] to enrol in this promotion that is open until 12 October 2007.
SOA India 2007 will also feature two half-day workshops on SOA Governance (by Keith Harrison-Broninski) and SOA Architecture Deep Dive (by Jason Bloomberg). If you are an IT manager, software architect, project leader, network & infrastructure specialist, or a software developer, looking for the latest information, trends, best practices, products and solutions available for building and deploying successful SOA implementations, SOA India 2007’s technical track offers you immense opportunities.

  • [Solved]Can't finish The Hobbit installation with virtual drive

Is there any way that I could combine two iso files into one so that I could finish The Hobbit installation process.  I always get stuck at the point where it asks for the second disk and gnome-disk-utility won't unmount the first ISO because it's still in use by the installation process.
    I tried doing this
    $ sudo mount -t iso9660 -o loop disc1-mountpoint
    $ sudo mount -t iso9660 -o loop disc2-mountpoint
    $ sudo mkisofs -l -J -R -o dvd.iso disc1-mountpoint disc2-mountpoint
    and here's what I got
I: -input-charset not specified, using utf-8 (detected in locale settings)
    Using BILBO000.ICO;1 for /bilbo.ico (bilbo.ico)
    Using AUTORUN000.INF;1 for /Autorun.inf (Autorun.inf)
genisoimage: Error: '/media/dc/bilbo.ico' and '/media/live/bilbo.ico' have the same Rock Ridge name 'bilbo.ico'.
genisoimage: Error: '/media/dc/Autorun.inf' and '/media/live/Autorun.inf' have the same Rock Ridge name 'Autorun.inf'.
    Unable to sort directory
NOTE: multiple source directories have been specified and merged into the root
of the filesystem. Check your program arguments. genisoimage is not tar.
So here's what I'm currently trying right now.
    $ cat HobbitCD1.iso > The_Hobbit.iso
    $ cat HobbitCD2.iso >> The_Hobbit.iso
Okay, so doing that didn't return any errors, now to see if I can finish the installation with the new ISO file.
Nope it still asks for disk 2.  So the real question is how can I force the first disk to unmount so that I can replace it with the second disk?

progandy wrote:Why don't you try this?
Manually mount the first iso image, begin installation, forcibly unmount old iso, mount new iso, continue installation.
Oh, you can forcibly unmount something?!
    (read the manpage for umount)
    Oh, whaddaya know, you can.
    from umount's manpage
-f Force umount (in case of an unreachable NFS system). (Requires kernel 2.1.116 or later.)
I dunno why I didn't think to check the manpage for umount.  Sorry, my bad.
EDIT: Okay, so forcibly unmounting the iso didn't work.  I was able to force umount, but I couldn't disassociate the /dev/loop2 from the HobbitCD1.iso file.  losetup doesn't seem to support forcing.  I think that I better just install this under Windows and then copy and paste the installed files to my external hard drive and then move them onto my laptop from there.  =/ Not really what I was looking for, though.

From my point of view at least v1.4.1
    Maybe v1.5
    but not v1.6
    Is this true?

    I guess only 1.5.
1.6 is officially not supported and 1.4 does break stuff, I tried running it with it, and didn't even come up.

  • Can Packagemaker create installer with content files outside the bundle?

I'm trying to create an installer with Packagemaker, but the content files need to be outside the final bundle because they're shared with a Windows installer.
I thought I could create a symbolic link to the external folder, but instead of linking from the installer, it copied the files into the bundle. Any idea how to do this, or if it's even possible? I need to be able to do this on 10.3+, if that's relevant.
(I can give a more specific scenario if this isn't clear enough)
    Thanks!

The main issue I'd be worried about is that the external files (which are quite large) won't have the appropriate progress bar. The external files are around 1GB, while the internal files are in the 30MB range.
How about installing a secondary installer with progress bar that copies these files from the correct location. Your postflight script can just kick off the newly installed file copier.
How's this sound for a hack...
Have a launcher script copy the installer to /tmp, then modify the package to point my files. (I'm installing from read-only media.) It would then open the modified installer which would pull my files from the DVD. This would probably work better (read: at all) if the files aren't compressed inside the package. Do you know if that's an option?
No, sorry. The internals of a package are quite specific. You need PackageMaker itself to build them.
Things like the receipts are non-essential at this point, only because if I can't get this to work then we will continue to use our terrible installer which leaves none of those things. Those shouldn't be too much trouble if I can get the rest to work.
There are some 3rd party installers like Installer VISE. The sad part is that they tend to make the MacOS X Installer look good.
If the guy responsible for that is interested I'll show him Inno Setup, but we have a working Windows installer, so he probably won't want to mess with it.
I agree, but tell him about it anyway. The next time you have to build a Windows installer, he could use Inno Setup and get it done in a couple of hours and then have time to help with the mess that is software deployment on MacOS X.
