SES TREX Search Attribute + Fulltext

Hello ,
i have my own WebDynpro for the ses Search.
Now I would search
printer* and type="servicecall"
this is in trex admin tool working.
At the moment my ls_query look like this :
ls_query-value1       ='print'
    ls_query-operator     = 'EQ'.
    ls_query-content_type = 'C'.
    ls_query-rowtype = 'TERM'.
    append ls_query to lt_query.
    ls_query-rowtype = 'Operator'.
    ls_query-value1 = 'AND'.
    append ls_query to lt_query.
    ls_query-rowtype = 'ATTRIBUTE'.
    ls_query-location = 'type'.
    ls_query-value1 = 'servicecall'.
    ls_query-operator = 'EQ'.
    ls_query-term_action = 'E'.
    append ls_query to lt_query.
But I receive an error :
syntax error (parsing query);
any solution for this problem ? or have someone solved this problem other ?

I have a task, to use SES to create intarface (in ABAP) for search in one specyfic table. This table contains field with long description text and I would like to use SES to search over it. I read some documents and i checked SAP Help ... but i still don't know how to start. Is there any step by step tutorial for using SES? Do I have to create Business Object Type for this table? If i have to ... how to create it for to enable SES for it?

I want to implement a search option in my portal. we would be using the trex search. Initially we would find attach a keyword to each document and design the layout.
1. Could you please say me where i need to upload those documents?
2. Where should i upload thse attributes or keywords?

Trex does the indexing itself.
u only need to login to the portal and hit the matter to be serched in the search fields

TREX/ search in ABAP

Dear sirs, I need your expertize.
I was asked to provide a solution where I need to work with the TREX search from ABAP.
I would like to know if anybody here has any experience with this and can guide me to some documentation sources or can give any direct advise how to start with the topic.
For example: there are demo/testing programs for all various modules/ technologies etc. in the ERP, does anybody know if there is something like that for the TREX? Like for ALV, WD, Adobe forms... something where I can see some basics about how this works.

the direct TREX APIs are not released for project development. The JAVA API is, of course, technically accessible, but SAP does not support project developments against it. It is an API for internal use (e.g. KM <-> TREX) only.
As the direct TREX APIs are not planned to be release and will remain reserved for SAP solution <-> TREX communication only (e.g. KM to TREX, BI to TREX, etc.), it does not matter how much delta there is. Sorry...

Search Attributes

Hi,
In the PORTAL, I am created some attributes. Its also displays my SES advanced search LOV. I dont want this attributes to my SES. How to delete this? Already i am trying to delete this attributes. I can't delete this. Its display the error.

How to delete this attributes or hide this on my SES lov?

You cannot delete an attribute if it's in use. You need to find the mapped attributes in your content source(s), delete them, re-index the content source in full index mode.
If this doesn't work, try dropping the content source that contains the mapped attributes, delete the attributes, and recreate the content source.

File name to be considered while Trex Search in CV04N,

Dear Sap Gurus,
I know TREX can search and list the documents using any Word or Characters inside the original file, but i have a requirement to search the document by there File Names,i tried giving File names in CV04N Trex search window, but it is not giving any results for me,
how can i make the trex search consider the file names also while searching in CV04N,
In SAP DMS is there a standard search functionality to search the documents by there File name?

i know we can search the documents through Classification or description details using CV04N, but
while searching any document the user wishes to fill up the details only at one field ie... the Trex search window in the CV04N screen, and he will not be interested in filling the values at the classification TAB and the description Tabs,
we need a single point of search through Trex search Window in CV04N, ie... when this Trex search field is filled appropriately,( like the classification value, Long text value,)
this values should search the documents with this Classification or Long text values in DIR and display the results,
i could not succeed in getting the trex search working with this values, is there any thing missing from DMS config????
FYI,
we have Portal Document search through DMS through DMS Connector, and in this Trex Search we could find the DMS documents using the file Names as well, but strangely the same thing is not possible through CV04N trex Search,

TREX search Functionality in E recruitment

I need help to configure TREX search functionality in E recruitment .
Does anyone have any documentation or steps to configure it.
It would be great if you could pas me on the steps to configure TREX in E recruitment.
AS far as I know we have to do some settings in search profile and search template but what exactly has to go in these img steps I dont know .

TREX search error

We are getting an intermittent problem when we do a search from our KM iview. When we put in a search string it for the most part comes back with the appropriate data, but every once in a while we get the following error either as an informational text at the top of the iview or as stack dump error.
Error during search occurred - com.sapportals.wcm.WcmException: Index does not exist;index=ourindex (Errorcode 2007)
Does anybody have any information on a fix for this?

Indexes are created in ECC or any other SAP for trex search and sometimes indexes may be have to be rebuild, have you checked this particular index shown in the error message 'ourindex'

TREX search failure for some pdf documents

Hi,
TREX search is not getting correct result for some pdf documents. It's not able read the content of some pdf documents. When we search with file name the search result is correct but we are getting "No document excerpt available" message in search result for this file name.
Let me know where might be the problem for those pdf docs.

1. Can you tell me whether the pdf documents are opening when you are selecting them?
2. This error comes mostly when you havent included this .extn file (.pdf in your case) to the portal.
3. Check whether this extn is their in your portal if not make it inclueded and then try making a new index and one new data source where your pdf is residing. Try for one Test.
You have to include the file extns in System Confi....UI Interface...

Under DMS Search option CV04n, SAP has provided TEXT Search with TREX search where-in we get different search type with AND & OR options
Can some expert explain me what is exactly meaning of each search type...?

the AND and OR means that if you pass more than 1 word
as the search text and AND or OR operation on that will be done
based on what is passed.

Dear Athol,
We are using SAP Content server to store our Documents from GOS and also the same Content server is used for maintaining our Documents through DMS also,
so as a standard, Trex cannot search documents maintained in content server by GOS methord and it can only search those documents which are maintained by DMS CV01N method,
pls suggest how to proceed for the development to allow Trex to search all the documents in Content server, how big is the development, is there any SAP suggested solution to be followed,

TREX search KM BI Repository

TREx 7.1
Portal 7.0
I have created and been using a KM BI Repository. This repository contains txt documents that are currently being accessed thru a KM Document IVIEW. I have recently implmented TREX 7.1 and I am having trouble finding anything in my repository using the search UI.
I have added indexes and taxonomies that point to the data source /bi_documents.
The search UI is available but finds nothing.
The TREX search can find Portal Documents.
I have also added to the Index Management Service the "Repository Manager" that is for my BI Repository.
Component Monitor is good and all green
TREX Monitor good.
My searchs still return nothing from my KM BI Repository.
I have researched and followed numerous documentation on repositories.
Any help or configuration document on KM BI Repositories would be appreciated.

I guess this is not only in CRM 7.0, this should be possible in very old CRM releases already.
The extra step is in
spro->CRM->Enterprise Intelligence->Software Agent Framework->Name and Configure Knowledge Base
the flag: Compile URL Instead of Text
should be turned on.

Problem with Search Attributes iView in MDM Business package

Hello Everybody,
I am configuring MDM Search Attributes iView in Portal.
This iView should show data based on selected record in Search Hierarchy iView. But it is not showing any attribute data on Search Attributes iView.
Any idea what could be the problem.
I have MDM 5.5. SP01

Hi,
I tried the scenario on MDM 5.5 SP06 and its working fine.
Following are the steps:
1. Create the MDM System.
2. Create the Search Hierarchy iView
3. Create the Search Attributes iView
4. Create the page and place both the iViews into that page.
Now when i am changing the hierarchy,its corresponding attributes appear in the Search Attributes iView as expected.
Try the same on some different version.Then only we can conclude that it might be because of version.
